I have been a fan of milk tea since 2012. I have discovered the rich combination taste when I was in Dubai and worked for a short stint. The moment, my Arabic employer introduced a hot cup of chai tea to me. I have never looked back. Chai is a combination of black tea, steamed milk, and various Indian herbs and spices. The taste was spicy, creamy and warming. It has become my comfort tea especially when Im feeling under the weather.
When I got back in Manila in 2013. milk tea with toppings became the craze. I have tasted it all from oolong, green tea, black tea, jasmine, white tea, chamomile, roasted dried tea flower leaves. I have also toured all the milk tea shops here in Manila. But nothing comes close to Cult favorite milk tea brand Coco, that is if youre a fan of milk teas with toppings (boba, pearl and pudding)
When Coco introduced 2 ladies and 3 buddies milk tea variants. It tested my patience for queing up. =)I love that you can chewed 3 toppings, (black and white pearl, grass jellies) in one drink. It was creamy, not so sweet, (because I always customize my order) and the toppings compliment these signature favorite beverage.
The trick to cut back on calories is to customize your order to no sugar.
Toppings like pearls, puddings and grass jellies are sweet enough to flavor up your drinks.
