The HarvestFresh technology is consistent with Beko's promises to empower new generations to live healthier

Beko Pilipinas has launched HarvestFresh technology refrigerators in the market today, in 372L or 12cuft and 409L or 14.4cuft refrigerators.

Its a new refrigerator technology that maintains the freshness and the vitamins of fruits and vegetables. The event was hosted by Justin Quirino via Facebook Live.

Inspired by nature, powered by light, HarvestFresh technology simulates natural light conditions in the special crisper. When the fridge is closed, the LED light illuminates in sequence – the blue light for 4H, green for 2H, the red light for 6H and then 12H of darkness.  This feature helps the refrigerator maintain the levels of vitamins in fruits and vegetables, so that the public is assured that they are well-nourished.

HarvestFresh is only one of the innovations from Beko, Europe's No. 1 Appliance Brand. Innovation, reliability and sustainability are at the heart of the Beko brand.

"As the world pivoted due to a global health crisis last year, Beko was there for our consumers.

As 2021 continues to pose many challenges for everyone, we continue to be there for our customers. Our technologies and innovations are even better and more mindful of the end user’s health and wellbeing. For instance, our refrigerators are built with EverFresh and HarvestFresh to keep the food fresher for longer," said Beko Pilipinas Marketing Manager, Dyeun Zapanta.

"Nowadays, consumers need appliances that do more than just clean, wash, cook and store food for them. Beyond all this, appliances should be able to improve their quality of lives," he added.

The launch also featured testimonial videos from celebrities who have tried Beko HarvestFresh refrigerators. They include, Marvin Agustin, Joyce Pring, Bela Padilla, foodie and celebrity chef Sandy Daza and many others.

During the online event, Beko Pilipinas gave away a RDNT371I50VS HarvestFresh refrigerator and four VCO27013 vacuum cleaners to five lucky viewers who you liked, shared and commented on the livestream.

The HarvestFresh technology is consistent with Beko's promises to empower new generations to live healthier.

"We hope that you keep following us, as we continue to bring relevant innovations in Home Appliances that matters to Filipino homes and inspire the new generation to live healthier," said Ghie Papa, Beko Pilipinas’ Brand Marketing.

Beko Pilipinas recognized modern day heroes

“A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.”

Modern day COVID-19 era heroes are groups, companies or individuals with pure and noble intention of helping others. Heroes are those who go the extra mile to do acts of kindness without being asked.

Heroes live amongst us. A hero can be a man whose leg has been amputated but still chooses to volunteer as a rider in order to serve as an inspiration to others. A hero can be a grandmother who survived a debilitating illness but still wants to help others as a barangay tanod who also cooks meals for frontliners. A hero can also be a woman, a common citizen, who is always ready to be of assistance to others in whatever way she can.

Companies who have gone beyond what is expected of them in this pandemic are also heroes. Europe’s No. 1 appliance brand Beko is one such company. Instead of staging a grand event to launch its presence in the country, Beko Pilipinas Corporation made donations of their innovative products: refrigerators, washing machines and freestanding cookers to hard-hit cities and hospitals in Metro Manila, including the local government units of Pasig, San Juan and Manila;  and the Philippine General Hospital, San Juan De Dios Medical Center, Quirino Memorial Medical Center and Delos Santos Medical Center.

Beko Pilipinas also made donations to actress Angel Locsin’s #UniTentWeStand campaign for San Lazaro Hospital in Manila and the converted mega quarantine facilities in Philippine International Convention Center, Rizal Memorial Stadium and Philippine Arena.

“Frontliners are our heroes and they deserve things to be more convenient for them as they work. Recognizing the efforts of frontliners is consistent with the company’s core values to encourage people to live healthier lives,” said Beko Pilipinas Corporation General Manager Gürhan Günal.

As part of its corporate social responsibility and continuing efforts to help others, #BekoPH launched the campaign “Nominate A Hero,” which identified and recognized the country’s unsung heroes, people who have made, and are making, a difference in their communities. For this initiative, #BekoPH teamed up with different Facebook groups such as Let’s Cook Pare  (https://www.facebook.com/groups/letscookpare);   Pinoy Midnight Snackers (https://www.facebook.com/groups/pinoymidnightsnackers) and  Filipina Homebased Moms  (https://www.facebook.com/fhmomscommunity). The three groups each hailed their chosen “Hero” after going through hundreds of nominations.

Filipina Homebased Moms honored James Valesco, a volunteer delivery rider for AccessiWheels. James was a victim of hit-and-run in 2003, which resulted in his left leg being amputated and his right leg set with a titanium plate. This disability did not stop Valesco from living his life to help others. He continues to volunteer in charities and foundations that benefit PWD. As an AccessiWheels rider, he delivers meals and supplies, like vitamins, relief packs, medical kits and PPEs, to hospitals. His reason for doing what he does is to make others, particularly PWD, feel that they are not alone in this pandemic. “At first I was not in favor of him being a volunteer because he really does not get any income out of it,” said Valesco’s wife Mean, who nominated him. “But I see the joy on his face and now, I understand his heart.”

Pinoy Midnight Snackers hailed Maria Isabel Gutierrez as their Hero. Isabel is a mother, grandmother and barangay tanod who survived Guillain-Barré Syndrome, an auto-immune disease. She chooses to help others by cooking healthy and delicious meals for frontliners in her barangay. She believes that she can help others in her own little way. “She is a courageous woman,” said the person who nominated her.

Juliet Escala tops Let’s Cook Pare quest for their Hero. Juliet helps people in her community in many ways. She cooks food and donates it to frontliners. She is always ready to lend a helping hand to people. She donates medical supplies such as alcohol and even offers refills. Even before the pandemic, Escala was already known as a person who was helpful and as someone who tries to make the world a better place for others.

“Beko Pilipinas is very proud to recognize to these three selfless individuals who put others before themselves; who donate and give until it hurts. Through this initiative, we want Filipinos to see that acts of heroism do not need to have a global effect to be defined as brave or courageous. Every hero’s act helps to make the world better. It is the company’s DNA to help others live better lives and be responsible members of the community and we are happy to do this,” said Günal.

Valesco, Gutierrez and Escala each received prizes from Beko Pilipinas Corporation.

Beko Pilipinas shows support to frontliners by extending aid

During this time of crisis, it is undeniable that we owe so much from our frontliners who are facing one of the world’s toughest battles. While we stay at home due to COVID-19, our unsung heroes in the hospitals, medical facilities, and local municipalities who lay and risk their own lives on the line to serve others.

But even the tough ones need an extra hand of help to carry on with their important duties.

Beko, the Philippine subsidiary of Europe’s No. 1 home appliances brand, shows it gratitude to our frontliners. Beko Pilipinas is teaming up with local municipalities of Pasig, San Juan and Manila; the hardest-hit hospitals like Philippine General Hospital, San Juan De Dios Medical Center, Quirino Memorial Medical Center, and Delos Santos Medical Center; together with actress Angel Locsin’s #UniTentWeStand campaign for San Lazaro Hospital in Manila and recently to the converted mega quarantine facilities in Philippine International Convention Center, Rizal Memorial Stadium and Philippine Arena by donating its innovative washing machines, freestanding cookers and refrigerators for use during the COVID-19 crisis.

Our frontliners need to feel protected from the harmful viruses and bacteria. And they do need to be refreshed and energized with healthy meals. That is why Beko shares its innovative technologies with our today’s heroes.

With Hygiene+ wash program technology, frontliners will get hygienically clean laundry because of its custom drum movements, additional rinse and spin cycles and sensitive temperature control, especially at 60degrees cycle as approved by Allergy UK, eliminates 99% of allergens. Meanwhile, EverFresh+® technology in the fridge ensures ideal humidity & temperature to keep fruit and vegetables crisp and fresh up to 3 times longer or even up to 30days. This will help our frontliners stay healthy and keep their meals, fruits and vegetables, fresh any time they most need. More than just a function to cook food efficiently, Beko’s CookMaster® capacity means it can cook loads of food in one go, especially during this situation when time is of the essence where people need a reliable cooker in preparing food for big groups of frontliners fighting the pandemic.

Helping LGUs and the private sectors is consistent with Beko’s brand purpose to “empower new generations to live healthier”. “Frontliners are our today’s heroes and we are happy to provide refrigerators, cookers and washing machines to make the place where they are resting more convenient and homey. We are also looking at ways to continue extend our support during the war against COVID-19,” said Gürhan Günal, Country Manager of Beko Pilipinas Corporation.

In addition, Beko Pilipinas is also working with #RockEd Relief (@RockEdPhilippines) and #FrontlineFeedersPH (@FrontlineFeedersPH) groups that help and support the medical workers in mobilizing, allocating and providing food delivery to hospitals and ensuring the right number of people are fed at the right time.

Beko’s humble contribution to the effort in taking care of frontliners in the Philippines is its way of giving back to them because they are out there risking their lives every day. These are but small donations compared to what they are doing.
