Cetaphil Marks 6 Years of the National Healthy Skin Mission with Anne Curtis and a Breakthrough for Redness-Prone Skin

When it comes to sensitive skin, most people think they’ve got it figured out: until they don’t.

What many still don’t realize is that sensitive skin is no longer just about occasional redness or dryness. It has evolved. Today, it’s triggered by a complex mix of stress, pollution, lifestyle choices, and climate change, making symptoms harder to decode and manage. While skincare advice is everywhere, the overload of information can often do more harm than good, especially for skin that’s already compromised.

This year, Cetaphil’s National Healthy Skin Mission (NHSM) returns with a bold reminder: “There’s More to Your Sensitive Skin.” Now in its sixth year, the campaign in collaboration with Watsons aims to go deeper—educating Filipinos on the many faces of sensitivity, from redness and irritation to rough texture and post-inflammatory pigmentation.

This year’s theme is “There’s More To Your Sensitive Skin,” chosen because Galderma, as Cetaphil’s parent company, noted that most Filipinos don’t know that sensitive skin is a skin condition, not a skin type. “The Philippines is number one in ranking in terms of sensitive skin in Southeast Asia, and number six globally,” said Louie Roxas, General Manager at Galderma Philippines. “With this partnership with Watsons, our vision is for every Filipino to have healthy skin.”

“This partnership marks a significant milestone in providing topnotch dermatological skincare solutions and expert advice to Filipinos, to help them understand that the way to healing sensitive skin is more than just knowing you have sensitive skin. It’s also having the knowledge on how to improve your skin’s health,” said Frank Patricio, Controller, Skincare, Cosmetics & Fragrances - Beauty Business Unit for Watsons.

Introducing the Soothing & Comforting CICA Line

Headlining this year’s campaign is the launch of Cetaphil’s latest innovation: the Soothing & Comforting Range, specially developed to instantly reduce redness and provides up to 24 hours of skin barrier protection.

More than just a temporary solution, the new line addresses sensitivity at its core, thanks to Cetaphil’s Power Trio Blend:

● Centella Asiatica – a proven anti-inflammatory that calms and supports skin healing
● Allantoin – a gentle soothing agent that helps relieve discomfort
● Pentavitin – a powerful hydrator that locks in moisture for long-term barrier protection

What sets this range apart is its dual-action approach: it soothes visible redness and strengthens the skin barrier to prevent future flare-ups—an essential upgrade for those who’ve outgrown short-term fixes.

Anne Curtis Leads the Mission

Bringing both star power and relatability to the campaign is Anne Curtis, Cetaphil’s brand ambassador and the featured guest at the NHSM 2025 launch.

“As someone who’s always on the go, I’ve learned how stress, pollution, and even constant makeup can trigger sensitivity. It’s not just about products anymore—it’s about understanding what your skin really needs,” Anne shares. When she became a mother, she noticed her skin changing. “After giving birth, I noticed I was more prone to hyper-pigmentation. I didn’t know this meant I had sensitive skin too.” Her personal journey mirrors the campaign’s message: sensitivity is deeper than it appears, and it deserves expert-level care.

Attendees of the launch can expect exclusive product experiences, limited-time promos, personalized skin consultations, and first dibs on the new Soothing and Comforting Range  —making this not just a launch, but a full-on movement toward healthier, stronger skin.

There’s More to your Sensitive Skin

Whether you’re dealing with flare-ups, flakiness, or unexplained redness, Cetaphil’s message this year is clear: it’s time to look beyond the surface. According to Mark Sarmiento, Business Unit Head at Cetaphil, they noted that the Filipino skin care enthusiast has a misunderstanding about sensitive skin. “When the average person thinks they have sensitive skin, they assume that is the only problem. But our learnings from skin experts and Cetaphil Science is that there are different types of sensitive skin: sensitive skin that is redness-prone, hyperpigmentation-prone, or even for babies.”

With dermatologist-developed solutions and a deeper understanding of sensitive skin, Cetaphil is here to help you understand it, treat it, and protect it with targeted solutions, no matter what kind of sensitive skin..

Galderma marks 70th anniversary of keeping skin healthy with Cetaphil

I discovered Cetaphil when my Pedia Dermatologist prescribed it to my son when he was a toddler. The son developed some rashes and allergy on his bottom due to the wrong brand of diaper that he wore. There were no medicines and ointment given but a Cetaphil cleansing lotion. After a week of religiously using Cetaphil. The bottom became smooth and rashes free. Since then, everyone in the family uses it up to this day.

Galderma is delighted to announce that 2017 marks the 70th anniversary of Cetaphil, their dermatologically formulated skincare range which is clinically proven to strengthen and protect even the most sensitive skin ensuring healthy skin.

Invented in 1947 by a pioneering pharmacist in Texas, the first product - “Cetaphil Cleansing Lotion“ - known today as Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser - still uses the same formula. Customers soon recognized its gentle cleansing power and from then on, the Cetaphil range of products started to grow. Now, 70 years later, Cetaphil is available in more than 70 countries worldwide and offers a wide range of everyday products from, cleansers, moisturizers, sun protection to baby products and solutions for sensitive skin conditions such as acne, eczema and rosacea. Specifically formulated to provide effective skincare for a variety of skin types and conditions, Cetaphil has become one of the top skincare brands recommended by dermatologists  and other healthcare professionals across the world.

The essence of Cetaphil is in the name: the ‘phil’ at the end means ‘love’, while the ‘Cet’ comes from the fatty alcohol which is used as an emollient – Cetyl alcohol. ‘Cetaphil’, therefore, is the love of softening and soothing skin.

“With its gentle and clinically proven formulas, Cetaphil reinforces and protects the structure of the skin - even in people with the most sensitive and delicate skin” explained Dr Eszter Baltas, dermatologist who contributed to developing Cetaphil products and now Associate Professor at the  Department of Dermatology and Allergology in Szeged, Hungary. “Thanks to its long heritage, based on in-depth understanding of dermatology, Cetaphil offers reliable, scientifically-tested solutions.”

“Cetaphil has been used by people with sensitive skin for more than three generations” said Neil Popplewell, Vice President Consumer Business, NestlĂ© Skin Health. “Over the last 70 years, we have worked closely with medical experts to better understand people’s skin needs. This has allowed us to provide different solutions adapted to these needs, and to make the Cetaphil range what it is today. Like regular exercise and a well-balanced diet, maintaining healthy skin is essential for your overall well-being, so Cetaphil completes your health routine. We will continue to develop the brand and make it more accessible to consumers worldwide. We look forward to the next 70 years of healthy skin with Cetaphil.”

Dr. Baltas sums it up: “When you choose Cetaphil, you’re choosing the best for your skin.”

Trust your skin to Cetaphil

They say men are from Mars and women are from Venus. We all acknowledge that each person has his or her own little quirks. Just as our fingerprints are different, so are our personalities and needs. But the good news is, despite our uniqueness, we can all trust just one skincare line to respond to all our different skin types. The Cetaphil line of skincare products employs the Science of Gentle. They are non-comedogenic, fragrance-free and moisturizing. This means each product is mild and leaves your and your family’s skin smooth and soft. It moisturizes effectively but does not leave any pore-clogging residue.

It turns out that skincare that responds to your teenager’s breakouts, your daughter’s sensitive skin, your husband’s hardy skin constitution and your own thirsty skin can be found in just one line. That means: no more guessing and especially, no experimentation that can leave indelible results on your skin. We’ve all experienced products that dry out our skin or moisturizers that cause too much oil and shine. Cetaphil even soothes some skin problems with its dermatologically tested formula.

“Cetaphil is non-soap, non-alkaline and clinically proven safe for all skin types. It is all your family needs to have healthy skin,” says Catherine Palma-Dilanco, Cetaphil Brand Manager. Buying Cetaphil for your family shows that you care for each of them. This also makes shopping for your family’s skincare easy and hassle-free. With a healthy skincare regimen, there is less damage on your skin.

Use the entire line of Cetaphil products for best results: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion, Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer, and Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream. Cetaphil is available in drugstores, department stores and supermarkets nationwide.
