Ladies of the Sunnies empire share what they love most about Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G

Georgina Wilson, Martine Ho, Bea Soriano-Dee, and Jess Wilson seem to have it all. They run Sunnies, a business empire that covers eyewear, food, and makeup. Today, it is a global brand with more than 300 employees and close to 100 stores. The women, who started as Manila’s It Girls, quickly became seasoned entrepreneurs with their pulse on what’s hip and cool.

How do they balance it all? The girls rely on Samsung, which takes their business and personal lives to the next level. Here, they share what they love most about the brand's latest foldable device, the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G:

A tastemaker like Georgina Wilson knows good design, and she saw it in the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G.

“I had a flip phone once upon a time, and I thought the innovation and attention to beauty on this model was something I had never seen before. I was immediately attracted to it and actually begged to be the ambassador!” says Wilson.

Wilson, however, has been using Samsung for the past five years. According to her, “I was convinced by my BFF to switch and it was the easiest thing. The Smart Switch app made it so seamless and I've never looked back.”

In fact, all of her appliances at home are made by Samsung, and she can control them remotely using the SmartThings app.

It’s this convenience that Wilson loves. The Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is compact, and she can take it wherever she needs to go.

“Everything on my phone feels fast, and I can tailor it to whatever I need and want it to be. ”

For Ho, the biggest draw to switching to Samsung is the camera quality. She says, “I love how crisp, bright, and true to life the images are. Whenever I meet Samsung users, we always talk about how much we love the images our phones shoot. It feels like DSLR quality in the palm of my hand.”

“The hands-free selfie using the palm gesture is such a game-changer, especially when I need to take a photo with a toddler. It’s been so great for family portraits,” Ho adds. She also counts on the VSCO app to edit her tap-worthy content.

The entrepreneur also uses the Galaxy smartphone to run the Sunnies empire. Ho shares, “We use Microsoft Outlook and Teams for work, which is great on Samsung and helps keep us all connected and organized. The battery life also saves me on long calls!”

Jess Wilson

“I literally live on my phone. I have my whole work set up there,” Jess Wilson shares about her Galaxy Z Flip3 5G.

A feature that Wilson loves as an entrepreneur is the long-lasting 3,300 mAh battery life.

“The fact that I’m not forever connected to a wall charging my phone has been life-changing. I can work from day to night without recharging my phone," she says.

Another key feature for her is the smartphone’s 5G capabilities, a must-have for any entrepreneur. According to Wilson, “quicker communication and stronger connectivity are integral these days in a work-from-home setup. I felt this, even more, when I was working while traveling last month around Europe.”

Wilson also loves shooting content with the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G, sharing that “the camera is also superior, which was another huge reason to switch over.”

She enjoys how she can take hands-free selfies by simply putting the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G on a flat surface, propping it up like a laptop through Flex mode, and capturing the moment by showing her palm on the screen.

Soriano-Dee might be what you would call a Samsung baby. According to her, “most of the things in my house are from Samsung, from my phone to my refrigerator, washing machine, and air dresser. Samsung has always been the industry's innovator, and I connected with their vision and their products.”

Knowing Soriano-Dee’s love for Samsung, it makes sense that she would switch to the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G. For her, it’s all about practicality.

I'm not a fan of bags and if I had a choice, I would never bring a bag. That's why I found the smartphone to be so cool. It can fit the smallest pockets. It's small when you fold it but becomes a big screen when you use it,” Soriano-Dee says. She also finds the form factor nostalgic, a throwback to when flip phones dominated the market.

Apart from the design, the Sunnies co-founder believes that the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G is helpful to her as an entrepreneur. She reveals, “it carries all my files I need wherever I go. I love that everything is not just accessible but easy to bring everywhere as well.”

The device is now available in the Philippines for Php 52,990 SRP for the 128GB variant and Php 56,990 SRP for the 256GB variant, in Cream, Green, Lavender, and Phantom Black colorways.

Ready to make the switch? Buy the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G for as low as Php 2,207.92/month at 0% for up to 24 months, or pay the first installment next year with BDO credit cards. Drop by the nearest Samsung Experience Stores or Authorized Stores, or go to samsung.com/ph to get yours now!

Kean talks about his #ChuckII Shanghai Launch experience

It was an exciting afternoon as Converse Ambassador Kean Cipriano talks about his  Chuck Taylor All Star II (Chuck II ) Shanghai launch experience together with Converse PH influencers Georgina Wilson and Julie Anne San Jose last August 15 at Pasig.

Kean Cipriano who practically  grew up with Chucks,  excitedly told the media that the new Chuck II has the most comfortable fit with the cushion that supports the arches. Converse is a part of his lifestyle, that he cant live without.

The Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II sneaker retains the iconic Chuck Taylor All Star silhouette.  A Lunarlon sockliner adds cushioning and arch support. Micro-suede lining, premium canvas construction and a padded, non-slip tongue deliver superior comfort and durability. Molded eyelets add a premium touch. The embossed, screen-printed license plate and embroidered, star-centered ankle patch add striking depth and dimension to recognizable, classic details.

Celebrities Georgina Wilson, Kean Cipriano and Julie Anne San Jose flew in all the way to Shanghai, China recently for the launch of the Chuck II sneakers. The Chuck II is Converse’s response to aficionados hankering for more from the iconic brand. The unique experience from the momentous event resonated with all who were in attendance.

Georgina was more than thrilled to be part of the big launch.  Before leaving for Shanghai, Wilson expressed her great anticipation for the event via her Instagram account, “I cannot wait to get my hands on the Chuck II! Will be at the Asian launch in Shanghai on Monday!”

Participants immersed themselves fully in the most inventive way possible. “Converse definitely went all out with the unveiling of the Chuck II,” said Kean. He added, how “(the) launch stayed true to the core of the classic brand’s philosophy rooted on fans’ self-expression, authenticity and creative nature.”

The venue prepared especially for the launch exuded a cool, industrial warehouse feel with a gallery finish. According to Kean, “When we entered the site, we were greeted with a wicked set-up.” Two rows of Chuck II were lined up for all participants from around Asia. “Everyone was just so eager to claim their kicks!” Georgina said. She added how the interactive dropdown ball display equipped with LED screens, which showcased the Chuck II’s innovative features, “wowed” her.

Multi-talented Pop sweetheart Julie Anne was all smiles when she finally got to try out her new Chuck II’s. Her social media followers were all abuzz about her Instagram posts on the Chuck II launch. She says she immediately began snapping photos and taking selfies with her fellow attendees during the event, “I couldn’t resist. I kept on taking photos because I wanted to show everyone what an awesome time I was having!”

Wearing their new pairs of sneakers, Julie Anne posed with Calllalily front man Kean Cipriano behind the Chuck II photo wall. Both celebrities couldn’t contain their enthusiasm, conscientiously documenting their Chuck II experiences after getting their hands on their new kicks. “Look!” Kean said as he lifted his right leg to show off his sneakers.

Guests got ready for more fun at the big event:  Clad in white hazmat suits, goggles and masks, Julie Anne laughed and said “Hey, it’s not everyday that I get to wear this kind of outfit. I’m ready to make a good mess over here!”

Meanwhile, Kean said, “everyone had tons of fun shooting green and black paint using the cool fire extinguishers and paint filled water balloons. It was riot!”

Upon contact with the paint, awesome artwork by partner artists, renowned Philadelphia street painter Stephen Powers (ESPO) and graffiti artist KRINK were revealed on the surface.“Heaps of awesome! I wanted to keep on shooting on the walls until my tank ran out of paint. It was a refreshing experience,” Julie Anne said.

Each of the celebrities related how it was their first time to be part of such a solid and original event with great gusto.

“What I appreciated most was the collaborative aspect of the art mob event,” Georgina said.

Julie Anne’s bold statement solidified the event’s impact, “People from around the globe will definitely wanting a pair!” she said.

According to Kean, “(I) loved how everyone came together for the ‘refreshing and unique art experience’.” He added, “Converse provided a venue for engaging all guests with the spirit of self-expression intact in a “fun, cool and original way.”

Sunnies Studios celebrate 1st year anniversary in style!

When Sunnies Studios hit Manila last year of October,  I was one of the thousands who lined up to their store located at SM Moa.  It was named Sunnies by Charlie then. The sunnies are well-loved because of its hip vintage style, quality, design and not to mention its affordable price range from P299 to P799. There are aviator, wide-rimmed, oversize shades, teashades, anything that you looked for in sunnies. It is comparable to a high-end designer cool eyewear without the hefty price. There is a Jane Birkin-inspired design and Paul Newman's too. Their sunnies has cute sounding names. I owned around 3 which I alternate with my designer sunglasses.

The Sunnies by Charlie is now officially Sunnies Studios owned by the well-known entrepreneurs/fashionistas Georgina Wilson,  Martine Cajucom, Bea Soriano and Eric Dee Jr. One couple, two cousins—all friends—they came together in 2013.

Sunnies Studios recently celebrate their 1st year anniversary last October 19, in style at Forbes Park, the festive party has the impressive guestlist of the movers and shakers of the fashion industry. The grand celebration started at 3:00 pm with endless uploads of photos from the social media Instagram (which has a 125,000 followers) Twitter and Facebook, the last time I checked Sunnies Instagram account,  pictures were still coming  until 12:00 am of  the following day.

No wonder its office is teeming with mood boards, Polaroid snaps, and wall after wall of inspos paying homage to staff’s Pantone obsessions and lust for mid century furniture, holiday hotspots, teenage daydreams, drive-in typography and girl crushes ad nauseam.

This predilection for effortless cool is the ongoing romance that keeps the sparks flying, but what seals the deal is Sunnies Studios’ no-holds-barred take on expansion. This year, it opened 25 stations
nationwide and grew its manpower to  more than 150 employees. It also sells in Zalora, Avon, and all Cebu Pacific flights.

Expect launches in Iloilo, Boracay, and Clark by the end of 2014 to match its unprecedented social media presence, backed by 125, 000 followers on Instagram alone. With the numbers adding up, the inevitable name-change happened.

Sunnies Studios wants to communicate the brand’s growth as a retail space and lifestyle concept from an apparel spin-off to an umbrella label that houses unisex sunglasses and SPECS.

Offering a range of styles from cat eye glasses to mirrored aviators, the eyewear rookie stays true to its signature blend of Cali cool and jet set insouciance.

Photographer Emman Montalvan best captures this spirit of wild abandon in Sunnies Studios’ recent road trip campaign that sees its endorser, Georgina, on a road trip across the west coast from Joshua Tree to Silver Lake. Along the way, she and Martine stumbled upon desert art installations, slept at motels, loitered illegally around trailers, and outwitted Beverly Hills security.

In line with that adventure, Sunnies Studios also launched its first men’s line in collaboration with Borgy Manotoc. The collection redefines contemporary classic styles for men from all walks of life. Shot in a warehouse by Nicco Santos, the hijinks ensue alongside vintage cars, water tanks, and samurai swords.

As Sunnies Studios turns one, it is moving to a bigger HQ replete with pink marble flooring, personalized art, astro turf, and a horde of succulents. It is also revamping its official website fully groomed to appease everyday cravings for new Sunnies products and content. Stay tuned.
