Ginebra San Miguel Transforms World Gin Day 2025 into a Global Journey of Flavor

Ginebra San Miguel has long been more than just a drink—it’s a staple in every Filipino celebration, from simple gatherings to grand fiestas. This year’s World Gin Day 2025 celebration took Filipino gin lovers on a journey like never before. Led by Ginebra San Miguel Inc. (GSMI), producer of the world’s best-selling gin, the immersive event transformed the Manila Diamond Hotel ballroom into a gateway to the world, where every sip was a new destination, and every corner revealed gin’s interesting characteristics.  


With the theme “Your World of Gin Experience,” the event was designed as a full-fledged voyage, blending aviation-inspired aesthetics with the sensory adventure of gin appreciation. From check-in to the final landing, guests were taken on a “flight” through global flavors, cultural heritage, and Filipino excellence. 


The event brought together gin enthusiasts, industry leaders, media, influencers, and celebrities to celebrate gin as a global favorite and Ginebra San Miguel as a brand that has now gone international. This year’s key message was evident: “The Philippines celebrates World Gin Day.  And on this day and always, Gin Is In!”

Gin Is In: Gin is Cool, Clear, and Versatile

Building on the success of last year’s Art of Gin concept, World Gin Day 2025 evolved into the World of Gin experience. The celebration embraced immersive exploration, spotlighting gin’s diversity and global reach through a curated exhibit on the venue’s premises.



Inside, guests entered a travel-themed world where aviation lounge aesthetics met gin sophistication. Every area was thoughtfully designed to reflect a stage in a global journey. At the “Cool Botanica” zone, guests walked through a lush, garden-inspired space where juniper berries and other botanicals took centerstage. This sensory experience allowed visitors to crush, touch, and smell gin’s core ingredients, evoking the freshness and craftsmanship behind every bottle.



 

Next, the “Clear Archives” transported attendees to a classic London pub-style exhibit, complete with dark wood, vintage posters, and copper pot stills. This museum-like walkthrough unveiled gin’s rich history—from its European origins to its celebrated presence in the Philippines—highlighting GSMI’s legacy as one of the top gin producers in the world. Guests had a chance to savor freshly crafted 1834 Premium Distilled Gin and Archangel Reserve Premium Dry Gin.

 

Completing the journey was the “Versatile Bar & Lounge,” a sleek, monochrome cocktail playground modeled after a modern airport lounge. Here, guests enjoyed handcrafted drinks from the bar and Gin Carts manned by top TESDA-trained Mixologists from the GSM Bar Academy that celebrated gin’s adaptability. Cocktails like Pearl of the Orient (representing the Philippines), Golden Halo (representing France), Singapore Sling (representing Singapore), Classic Gin & Tonic (UK), Jell-O Shots (USA), and Negroni (representing Italy) were crafted with GSMI’s historic and popular brands including GSM Blue, 1834 Premium Distilled Gin, Archangel Reserve Gin, and Ginebra San Miguel Bilog.


 



Welcome to the World of Gin

Framed around a dynamic, flight-inspired narrative, the World of Gin event unfolded across three thematic chapters, each elevating the story of Ginebra as a world-class spirit, opened by Ginebra San Miguel endorser Nik Makino.

 

The journey began with “World of Adventure – Gin is Cool,” where guests were immersed in the Cool Botanica exhibit by popular personality Boss Toyo, who represented gin’s cool confidence. He engaged in a lively discussion on what makes gin cool while roving Gin Carts served Singapore Sling cocktails.

 

The second leg, “World of Excellence – Gin is Clear,” took guests through the Clear Archives. Heartthrob Atty. Oliver Moeller embodied gin’s purity and clarity, sharing insights on the distillation process and celebrating the international recognition of Ginebra’s premium products. The chapter featured testimonials from gin experts, mixologists, and global distributors, further emphasizing Ginebra’s status as a globally awarded Filipino brand.  





The final chapter, “World of Celebration – Gin is Versatile,” highlighted gin’s adaptability through the Versatile Bar & Lounge. Actress and singer Mikee Quintos discussed how gin suits every lifestyle, sharing her favorite mixes while Gin Carts served refreshing gin-based cocktails.  Julie Anne San Jose, the limitless star, further reinforced the “limitless” ways of consuming gin because Gin is Cool, Gin is Clear, Gin is Versatile.


Happy World Gin Day

The chapter opened in a vibrant celebration featuring performances by GSM Blue endorser Gabbi Garcia.  The audience was engaged with a gin trivia game, leading to a ceremonial toast that brought together brand ambassadors, executives, and guests in a collective “Happy World Gin Day” greeting.

 

Beyond the cocktails and entertainment, World Gin Day 2025 served a deeper purpose: to spotlight Filipino excellence on the world stage. The event celebrated GSMI’s impressive track record, including seven consecutive Gold Quality Seals from Monde Selection in Belgium, the international acclaim for its 1834 Premium Distilled Gin, and the strong overseas reception of local favorites like Gin Bilog and Kwatro Kantos.


A special portion of the evening took place when Global World Gin Day Ambassador Emma Stokes delivered a message that there are more than 36 countries that celebrate World Gin Day every second Saturday of June, led by Ginebra San Miguel in the Philippines. “From Brussels to Bangkok, gin lovers are discovering what Filipinos have always known—Ginebra is a world-class spirit,” Stokes said.


As the program drew to a close, a ceremonial toast led by GSMI General Manager Cynthia M. Baroy, GSMI executives, and GSMI ambassadors sent a clear message: Ginebra’s story is a shared victory for every Filipino. Each bottle represents generations of craft, innovation, and heart. As it continues to gain recognition abroad, it also elevates the Filipino identity globally. 

 

Capping off the night was the signature performance by Ginebra San Miguel endorser Nik Makino to further energize the crowd and bring the celebration to a powerful, world-class finale.

Ginebra San Miguel first Ginumanfest live online concert salutes frontiners and the Filipino spirit




Every year, thousands of people gather together for Ginebra San Miguel’s Ginumanfest, an annual music festival held in different regions nationwide. 

Since 2011, Ginumanfest has been championing the best in OPM talent year on year, bringing Filipinos together for an epic celebration of music, food, and the world’s largest selling gin.

For this year 2020, as an act of unity in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ginebra San Miguel held its first-ever live online concert. The heritage brand urged us to digitally get together via Ginebra San Miguel’s Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/BarangayGinebra/) last June 20 at 8:00 pm, as ONE GINEBRA NATION to support and salute our frontliners, our freedom to enjoy life, and the never-say-die Filipino spirit.

Honoring Heroes 
Now more than ever, the message of unity and togetherness of Ginebra San Miguel’s “One Ginebra Nation” campaign could not be more timely. 

Early on in the crisis, Ginebra San Miguel found a way to do its part to help as well as to honor the modern heroes in the frontlines. 

Aside from donating millions of liters of ethyl alcohol to hospitals and the frontlines, Ginebra San Miguel came out with a reimagination of its iconic label by National Artist Fernando Amorsolo. The image of St. Michael the Archangel vanquishing the devil that has been on the Kuwatro Kantos and Bilog bottles for over 100 years were turned into artworks honoring the brave doctors, nurses, security guards, factory workers, delivery and grocery personnel. These artworks were posted on Ginebra San Miguel’s Facebook Page and netizens were inspired to react and share. 



Ginebra San Miguel responded to the clamor to make these artworks an actual bottle label so a limited edition Kuwatro Kantos bottle was released with the commemorative label featuring the healthcare workers. 

Ginebra San Miguel also gave more reasons to toast the Filipinos’ heroic deeds and never-say-die spirit when it launched its newest products – GSM Blue Flavors Tamarind Punch and the Ginebra San Miguel Hari one-liter bottle at the live online concert. 

A Night of Hope 
The live online concert featured three of the Philippines’ biggest bands namely Banda ni Kleggy, Silent Sanctuary, and December Avenue not only kept netizens entertained with their hits, they also sent out messages of hope and encouragement.  



Hosted by Magic 89.9’s DJ Suzy Gamboa and DJ CJ Rivera, viewers were encouraged to prepare their favorite Ginebra San Miguel drinks as they were also treated to the special participation of industry idols such as Sue Ramirez, 2020 Ginebra San Miguel Calendar Girl Sanya Lopez, top favorite candidates from Miss Universe Philippines pageant, and the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Gin Kings. 

As the event carried on and the festivities came to a close, guests and viewers gathered in a virtual toast as heroes celebrating heroes and gave thanks to everyone who made the unforgettable night possible.

Ginebra San Miguel celebrates 10th #WorldGinDay with a ginstronomic tour of the PH







Ginebra San Miguel recently celebrates 10th World Gin Day at Green Sun with celebrities Gab Valenciano, Mr. World Philippines 2016 Sam Ajdani, and all-around vlogger Vince Vandorpe. Travel and beauty vlogger Angel Dei Peralta, and international model couple/reality TV stars Chelsea Robato and Christian Busby. Some of the country’s top  Master mixologists Enzo Lim, Kalel Demetrio and Icy Mariñas  concocted special Ginebra San Miguel cocktails to represent the country’s three island groups. Chef Lau also graced the event with his signature "pulutan" dishes.

World Gin Day was founded by British blogger Neil Houston and is celebrated every 2nd Saturday of June. What started as a day to bring his friends together to drink gin has grown into a worldwide celebration. Aside from the Philippines, World Gin Day events were also held in the UK, Australia and the US.


Love for gin is something that the Philippines shares in common with the world and for 184 years, Filipinos have been enjoying the distinct taste and quality of the country’s pioneering spirit, Ginebra San Miguel. Our drinking culture is so strong that we even have the concept of “tagay” – a unique way of drinking gin where one drinks from a common glass and passes it on to be refilled for the next round.



Indeed for Filipinos, drinks are meant to be shared and enjoyed with friends. This same feeling of camaraderie, friendship, togetherness and unity is what Ginebra San Miguel aims to cultivate further as it celebrates World Gin Day as One Gin Nation.



Ginebra San Miguel took guests on a “ginstronomic” and a gastronomic tour of the Philippines.

Kalel Demetrio created the “Quatro Katipunero Sour” – a cocktail that incorporates the four dominant Luzon ingredients that he loves to use: kamias, sampaguita, labuyo, and calamansi.

For Visayas, Icy Mariñas crafted the Cebu mango-based “In It to Gin-It” cocktail with flavors of sinamak vinegar, peanut kisses, and Leyte pineapple.

As a representation of Mindanao, Enzo Lim made the Samal Beach Cocktail, a fusion of Pinoy flavors with Davao pomelo as its dominant taste.

These concoctions were, of course, prepared using Ginebra San Miguel, GSM Blue Light Gin and GSM Premium Gin as base.







Rockstar chef Rolando Laudico also prepared a sumptuous “pulutan” feast, creatively paired with the rockstar mixologists’ cocktails. Chef Lau’s cocktail food dishes aptly named “Nilasing na Sisig”, “Chicken Ginasal Wrap” and “Spicy Tuna Ginilaw”, similarly used Ginebra San Miguel, GSM Blue Light Gin and GSM Premium Gin as ingredients.



The three rockstar mixologists were also at the judges’ panel for “Mixologist Showdown”, a contest where the country’s best bartenders whipped up signature cocktails using unique and indigenous ingredients that captured the spirit of the Philippines as a gin nation.



 “Gin is enjoying a wave of popularity the world over right now,” says Ginebra San Miguel Marketing Manager Ron Molina. “Owing to its versatility, gin can mix with a variety of flavors. In the Philippines, this love for gin and Ginebra San Miguel is celebrated with regional flair and flavor. Local mixes and pairing with local food takes the gin experience to a whole new level.”

Among the guests who graced the event were famous personalities like dancer/director Gab Valenciano, Mr. World Philippines 2016 Sam Ajdani, and all-around vlogger Vince Vandorpe. Travel and beauty vlogger Angel Dei Peralta, and international model couple/reality TV stars Chelsea Robato and Christian Busby also had a taste of the gin-credible night.




GSM Blue endorser Myrtle Sarrosa, singer, rapper, and songwriter Quest, and Europop Festival Gold Medalist Ana Ramsey delivered outstanding performances that captured the hearts of the audience.

World Gin Day celebrations were also held in Cabanatuan, Cebu and Davao at selected bars and establishments where Ginebra San Miguel offers the Gin O’ Clock promo.  The World Gin Day celebration carried on throughout the whole Philippines, as they toasted with Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao - now as One Gin Nation.








Here in the Philippines, World Gin Day was first celebrated in 2014 coinciding with the celebration of Ginebra San Miguel’s 180th anniversary, highlighted by the launch of a travelling exhibit showcasing the brand’s colorful history and rich heritage.
