Lesha Sets the Stage for Her Upcoming Music Releases

Lesha rocking at the recent Conquest PH event

Lesha is moving fast. Now, she becomes unstoppable with her forthcoming plans. She’s already laid out everything and has achieved awesome accomplishments spanning her six-year musical career. But she remains enthusiastic about her next moves.

After the release of her debut album “3rd Eye” in 2022, rising music artist Lesha is still rocking in the beat of her own drum.

“A lot of work was put into crafting it, the logistics of everything, and making sure everything is good to go. But once it was finally out for my fans to hear, I received so much love with 200,000 streams in the first 36 hours followed by my launch party at the Island where I got to perform the complete album for the first time,” she said.

With a lot of learnings from the release of her debut album, the singer-songwriter and producer is determined to move to the next stage of her music career.

“The Lesha I am now has become more unapologetic, I feel free to speak my mind and communicate my feelings through my songs, I am also more driven than ever and ready to take my music to a whole new level,” she said.

Having the experience of working with producers during a two-and-a-half month stay in Los Angeles, Lesha was able to really get to know herself as an artist and as a person.

As she explores different genres and harnesses her songwriting skills, the singer-songwriter is able to produce her debut album which is now her “teaser” for the music that she is currently producing.

“That kind of daily exercise really challenged me to explore creatively, vocally, and it also helped me find the kind of sound I want Lesha to bring to life in the next releases,” she expounded.

Lesha showing off her rock n’ roll vibes

Starting out as an independent artist and being her own label, she experienced her highest and lowest moments in her career—but the breakthrough moments are always one of her inspirations to keep on rocking with her music.

“One of the memorable moments for me would be performing with my band DJ Marx and Alwyn Cruz at Conquest this year where I opened for James Reid & The Rose. I performed my unreleased track called ‘Skin2Skin’ which received a lot of love from the fans all over social media,” she shared.

As of the moment, Lesha has been utilizing her social platforms to share her music contents in the digital space while performing on live events on-ground. But with all that aside, the young record producer is very enthusiastic also on what comes next for music career.

“I’m really excited to share the new music I made in LA and Manila! It’s honestly been way overdue because it’s been almost a year for me without any music releases and I was initially scheduled to drop them early this year, but I really can’t wait for you all to hear the new sound I’ve been working on these past few months,” she announced.

LESHA TRANSCENDS WITH ELEVEN:ELEVEN

And the clock strikes at 11:11, you can’t help but to whisper a wish.  They call it Angel Numbers and the possibilities to see it are endless. Just keep your eyes open and you’ll definitely notice them. For the fast rising electro pop artist, Lesha, these numbers have a different effect on her.

Asked on what Lesha usually whispers silently when the clock hits repeating number sequences, “Literally anything! I usually like manifesting career or life opportunities because 11:11 is actually a reminder from your angels to reflect on your purpose.”

Lesha taking on tougher challenges at this point in her career and setting her motivation conquering the bigger stage.  All that she can say is that she’s currently living the dream and she’s just open to whatever the Universe has in store for her next.

“At this point where I am on a journey on breaking it into the International stage, represent the Filipino music industry globally, and hopefully on a world tour. With all that I’ve achieved so far, I’m deeply humbled and somehow extremely in awed of how far I’ve come in my career. Never in my life I would’ve expected to release a global collaboration album or be under Lauv or Finneas’ label, AWAL.”

Before this year closes, she’s dropping her newest track entitled ELEVEN:ELEVEN, part of her soon to be released global album entitled SUN MOON RISING. This is the shortest track in the album and probably the most chillest one.   As compared to her other releases, Lesha is proud to say that this track is a one-woman-show. No collaborators or producers worked on this track which is another reason why she feels that this song is special because she get to show people the most authentic sound in its rawest form.

“Eleven:Eleven is a dreamy synth filled track that I produced in my bedroom studio one night when I got the idea to write about how I love wishing on angel numbers specifically 11:11.  I knew the concept of Numerology had to be a part of this album since it played a huge role in my journey of manifestation and spirituality. At the time I was writing this song, I already knew the title had to be Eleven:Eleven so I used that as the direction for the lyrics and just relating it to me and my personality. This song is my own way of reminding myself of my worth, that I’m divinely guided, and is also another way of protecting my energy from any negativity,” Lesha shares.

She worked the hardest in finishing this song, doing all the nitty gritty details from songwriting, putting on music, producing and even creating her own music video.  It’s not an easy feat, but her mind is focused to doing things her own way while following what she has envisioned for every track music video and maintain a global standard quality.

“I drew inspiration for my music videos through listening to my songs all day and try to visualize the sound or how I interpret the music. Sometimes my ideas can go from very abstract concepts into something that people can easily grasp.”

Admittedly, Lesha can become an obsessive perfectionist especially when it comes to producing and creating her music videos. But it’s tougher for her than you can imagine. Stretching her creative juices in every way, shape and form.  By the way, that’s where her resourcefulness came into play being able to come up a polished finished product in the shortest time possible.

For the Eleven: Eleven music video, Lesha has the concept of her shots as inspired by Alice In Wonderland. She explains, “I’ve always wanted to do a whimsical sort of character for a music video and at the same time have it look like an exaggeration of my personality. The mime in the video is another character we injected to represent more of the darker side of how people can really choose how they appear to other people.”

She gives advice to newbies who wants to do their own music videos, “When working on a music video, the key is to find the right people who also see your vision the way you do so they get to deliver the vibe you’re going for. On top of that, you also need to be looking at whether this person is easy to work with and is professional in all scenarios. I’ve encountered working with unprofessional people, no work ethics whatsoever and it really gives the rest of the team a harder (me and a huge headache when the deadline is fast approaching.”

Call Lesha a total game changer in this cutthroat music industry, but she is determined to achieve her vision to continue being a hardworking D-I-Y artist in charge of her own brand of music. “I don’t really like putting myself in a box of just making pop music, which is why I enjoy injecting different genres I feel would fit well in the track. I love that I get to make music that is authentic to me and what I vibe with, at the same time fit many other sub-genres into my style.

But she acknowledges that her artistry is a work in progress and still evolving. You’ll be surprised  how Lesha can still be flexible and open minded to hone her craft.

“I’ve definitely grown a lot as a producer and songwriter through the years and I’m still constantly learning as I’m making more songs. I feel like I’ve gotten to refine my taste in music while working on this album and that’s the beauty of it. The more I experiment with different genres or styles, the more I’m able to sort of shape shift my sound into something that is unique to me and my listeners.”

‘ELEVEN: ELEVEN” is the 4th track of Lesha's global collaboration visual album titled 'SUN MOON RISING' set to drop in early 2022 and is going to be available on all digital music streaming platforms this December 3, 2021. Check out Lesha’s  music on Spotify or watch the official music videos, covers, and learn more about music production on Lesha’s YouTube Channel.

Lesha Drops Her 3rd International Track

Fast rising electropop artist Lesha is going through different metamorphoses and it can’t be stopped.  From the girl who has manifested big things to happen, then actually working double time to achieve her set goals to finally reaping the rewards of her arduous efforts, this generational pop star is taking bolder steps to solidify her artistry through new international collaborations and affiliations.

Lesha is happy to announce that she took the big plunge to being an independent artist and starting things fresh with a new team.  She’s now with AWAL, a prestigious British music distribution company, named one of the best worldwide. The company serves as an alternative to the traditional music label deal, offering deal structures to artists and independent labels without them giving up ownership or control. AWAL currently handles the world's biggest names in the music industry like Lauv, Finneas, BANKS, girl in red, deadmau5, Tom Misch, The Wombats, mxmtoon, and more!

“Me going independent again feels very refreshing. I’ve been longing to feel this way in my career for quite some time and now that I’ve taken my power back, I know I’m ready to finally get back on the grind, release the rest of my album, and be my most authentic self through my artistry. Being part of AWAL that houses the biggest artists of the world and my idols in the industry is a dream come true! As an artist who values freedom and the ability to fully own all my works, AWAL and I were definitely a perfect match. It’s empowering to be an independent artist under them cause I own all of my masters and have full creative control over everything!” Lesha enthuses.

AWAL empowers independent artists by giving them full control and ownership over their work. This affiliation for Lesha is truly a match made in heaven.  “Not all artists can get accepted because AWAL only selects artists with a trajectory and notable milestones. I went through an application process and after 5 days, I got an acceptance email from the team!”

Likewise, she also has another good news to share.  Her newest track from her global collaboration visual album entitled “SUN MOON RISING” is finally dropping soon.  Get ready to be captured passionately and groove intensely with her upcoming single, “TWIN FLAMES”. A catchy dance song that she collaborated with international music geniuses UK Singer-songwriter - Lewis Maxwell and Bahrain Music Producer - Ghauri. Twin Flames is Lesha & Lewis' take on being in the runner and chaser stage of a chaotic yet electric twin flame connection which is thought of as one of the worst of the 8 twin flame stages.

UK Singer-Songwriter Lewis Maxwell (Left) and Bahrain based Music Producer Ghauri

Now is the best time to stay tune to Lesha’s thoughts and how this new track was brought to life through an intense soul connection idea adding a new flavor to her international album. Take some pointers and read on.

Her post-pandemic plans and her readiness to perform on a real stage.

Most definitely, I would love to get the chance to perform my entire album for a crowd soon! I really miss the adrenaline performing for an actual audience and not just in front of a camera in my room.

The things to look forward to long term career wise.

My mission has always been to change the game of the music industry here in the Philippines and get OPM recognized globally so I am currently working towards that through my global collaborations on this album and the future releases after the album.

The most frequently asked question on TikTok.

I always get asked about how I learned to produce my own music or how I could come up with my own beats for my songs. I’d like to think of my platform as a way for other aspiring artists to get inspired or learn from me. I honestly love sharing my knowledge so whenever someone asks me about anything music production related on TikTok I do a video response showing them how I create my stuff cause I was once in their shoes and wished there were more resources available online or someone I can turn to when it comes to being an artist and stuff.

On dominating the International Stage.

I guess I can say that I’ve been preparing my whole life for this. And no it’s not an over exaggeration haha! I’ve always wanted to represent the Philippines globally ever since I began performing and competing in the past. I just can’t wait for that moment to arrive and for the universe to hand me that opportunity soon.

On artist inspiration that she looks up to.

I take so much inspiration from artists that know how to mold their own sound or are their own producers - I feel that the songs are more authentic and interesting that way. To name a few, I look up to Kimbra, Marian Hill, Lorde, Flume, Billie Eilish, Finneas, Troye Sivan, Lauv, The Weeknd, and Dua Lipa.

Her Motivation and Mantra.

I have a tattoo on my right arm that says “The Universe Listens”. It was my very first tattoo and it reminds me to keep myself grounded at all times and that I can literally manifest anything into my life if I allow it. It’s a reminder for me to be grateful for where I’m at and where I will be soon and it keeps me motivated knowing I have the power to direct my life and make my own choices.

On her upcoming track ‘Twin Flames’ and international collaboration with Lewis and Ghauri.

For reference, a Twin Flame is an intense soul connection, sometimes called a “mirror soul”, thought to be a person’s other half. It’s based on the idea that sometimes one soul gets split into two bodies. Twin Flames can run away because they’re scared about the intensity of the connection. The chaser is the more spiritually awoken twin. Runners love it when chasers keep up with the chase. This chase also triggers their healing during the Twin Flame process. Ghauri and I have been meaning to collaborate on a track for a while now so when he passed this track on to me I immediately got down to writing. A few weeks prior to writing this song I met Lewis and I fell in love with his voice. I just knew he’d be the perfect fit for this song so I hit him up and I was so glad he was down to work on the song with me.

Twin Flames' is the 3rd track of Lesha's global collaboration visual album titled 'SUN MOON RISING' set to drop in early 2022 and is going to be available on all digital music streaming platforms this November 12, 2021. Check out Lesha’s  music on Spotify or watch the official music videos, covers, and learn more about music production on Lesha’s YouTube Channel.

Lesha launches her second track, Karma

In a cutthroat industry such as music and entertainment, newbies can experience some sort of possession by monopolizing forces. Sadly, it’s an unfortunate situation to be in.  Its either you give in, or you break free.  You always have a choice on how to steer your path to achieve your end goal.  The hard truth is that there’s always the Law of Karma coming right at you. Thus, everything you do comes back to you, whether it’s good or bad.

For electropop singer and now independent singer Lesha, Karma is more than just a word that you utter daily. But rather, she wants to impart a whole new meaning to the term through a song. This has become a way to defy the norms, break out from the lousy system and share her story no holds barred. Lesha is making it loud and strong statement with her newly launched second single, KARMA. Her latest track included in her .

In “KARMA”, Lesha speaks her truth of having to deal with people in the past for only seeing her value when they are able to take advantage of her. She expresses how her past experiences and learnings molded her into the artist and person she is today which serves as her motivation to continue working smarter and harder because she believes that success is her best revenge.

Likewise, Lesha once again is collaborating with her Co-Producers friends from all over the globe generously supporting her through this track. Although Lesha produced and recorded her demo for KARMA in her own bedroom,  she decided to send in the song to her collaborator/co-producer from South Korea, REBENN, and he took the lead from there. Another friend Nephibis, a rapper from Baltimore USA, who Lesha previously collaborated with on a track for the Netflix Film: Project Power and was also cool to jump in for a verse. And the rest, as they say is history.

Expect this new song to be a revolutionary anthem for listeners going through the same predicament as Lesha on being an independent singer, songwriter, and producer of her own music fighting the injustice of the system that she went through. “I made sure to make this song relatable to whatever situation a person is going through in life and I feel like I’ve hit a jackpot with KARMA,” she shares.

Giving you a sneak peek of what you are about to tune in.  You all better heed the words straight from Lesha as she flesh out the analogies of Karma’s lyrics and speak out the real truth in her own words.

You’re underrated baby, know you’ll make it far

Lesha says: This line was inspired by my YouTube’s comment section and twitter mentions. When people would watch or listen to my music on YouTube or tweet about me, they’d always write something cool about me then go “....she’s super underrated though and I don’t know why”. I guess I’m just aware of how much passion, time, money, effort, and love I put into all my projects for it to not get the attention I believe it deserves, and how many times I’d get an opportunity where one of my videos would go viral, but none of them actually translated to make me cut through as an artist here in the Philippines. Through the years, I’ve shown my audience that an artist that can make it in the industry without being backed up by the big machinery. I’ve had so many people take advantage of me in the past, but that doesn’t stop me.”

(From Top to Bottom) Co-Producer from Seoul, South Korea Rebenn, electropop singer Lesha and American Rapper Nephibis.

But if only you could see things from my point of view, they’ll only love you when you make them bank…

Lesha says: The line also talks about how unfair the industry can be. When an artist goes viral, that’s the only time they will invest and build them which is probably also why there are so many talented artists out there who are unseen for their work because they were never given the platform or stage they deserve all because of how the system works. With this, I came up a decision to make the bold move of going fully independent again and teaming up with a new team for my music distribution, because I felt it was the right thing to do.

“It gets messier make sure you bring your gun”

Lesha says: This line is basically a warning that you have to be prepared before getting into the industry (in my case, the music industry) cause it’s tough, there’ll be people who’ll doubt you and your capabilities, people who plan to take advantage of you, or people who are just there because they need to use you. I’ve been belittled, used, and manipulated being in the industry for a while now and I think it’s something people have to be aware of that it’s not all just fun and games.

Lesha is unstoppable in reaching her goals. There’s more to look forward to the next coming days, so watch out for a stronger and more vocal Lesha who isn’t fearless to pursue what she wants. “I can say KARMA is a very “Lesha” song in a sense that people can tell because of the messaging, the visual aesthetic, and the overall vibe of the track which is the complete opposite from my first release, SUN MOON RISING. This is something people should expect from the next releases in the album because each release has its own flavor or side people haven’t seen or heard from Lesha yet.”

KARMA, the second single of Lesha’s  upcoming global collaboration visual album titled 'SUN MOON RISING' dropping this October 8, 2021 on all digital music streaming platforms! Lesha launches her debut album entitled Sun Moon Rising this coming August 6!

The universe has its way of telling us to pursue our passion, do hard work, put all your heart into it and attract positivity. For fast rising electropop artist and music producer Lesha, being guided with this belief has led her to sincerely build her dreams, work doubly and soon, everything she manifested will come true.

The law of attraction seems to have instilled into Lesha’s perspective and how it completely helped her achieve what she has envisioned early on.  Once again, she is making things happen in her favor as she finally launches her debut album entitled Sun Moon Rising this coming August 6, with the title track ‘Sun Moon Rising’ dropping on the same day.  There are a lot of exciting things that is yet to unfold as the other album tracks with different global collaborators are set to drop in the next coming months.

Get to know more of Lesha’s pursuits as she reveals her innermost thoughts on her path to self-discovery, gaining artistic prowess and fulfilling her purpose.

On being a staunch believer of manifestation.

“I started realizing this gift as soon as I was learning how to write my own songs at 13 years old. Majority of the songs that I’ve written in the past were predictions that I’ve manifested or possibly just about to manifest into my life. The way the universe communicates with me is through my songs and that’s basically why I chose to name this album SUN MOON RISING because it is in relation to the entire concept of astrology and how the universe works to communicate with us human beings. All of the songs in my upcoming album are an artistic manifestation of my different walks in life and it also touches on how I see the world from my point of view which I feel hasn’t been expressed that well in my previous releases.”

On being a standout and being able to inspire.

“I guess what sets me apart from all the other artists out there is that I’m not just your typical singer/ performer. I am also my own music producer, songwriter, director/editor, and marketing strategist. Something that isn’t normal for many rising female artists today especially in the Philippines. Ever since I started pursuing music as a professional career, I always told myself that I aspire to be an inspiration to the youth or aspiring artists through my artistic process and of course, my music. From the beginning I knew I wanted to be in control of my sound and my songwriting. I hated the idea of not having creative control over my work or me having to rely on other people to help me make music. Although I still experience a lot of trial and error along the way, but this is how I grow as a producer and really find ways to mix and match different musical styles & genres that inspire me and integrate it into my music which is how I get to create music that is unique to me and distinct to my listeners.”

On finding her own beat and having that global sound.

“I started releasing my original tracks and song covers on Soundcloud and YouTube back in 2013. I would play around with GarageBand, a bunch of iPad apps, and I would write songs for fun and post them! In every song I covered, I added my own twist by chopping up my vocals and create an EDM-ish drop which quickly became a signature sound of mine. My unique remixes of my song covers is what made me gain popularity as a cover artist on YouTube. This later on lead to me winning local and international talent competitions and has opened opportunities for me to work with many international producers who are good friends of mine and involved in the making of my album, SUN MOON RISING!”

 On working independently.

“I’ve always been known for being very DIY with my entire artist process because aside from being self-taught in music production, I did the same with film. As a budding artist back then, I knew I had to find a way to also know how to shoot and edit my own music videos to help me promote my music in the future. Being the very geeky techie person I am, I again started learning how to work with cameras and editing software through tutorials on YouTube. All of my music videos uploaded on my YouTube channel are filmed in my house and edited by me with a little bit of help from my family. For college, I took up Marketing Management because I know this is also a very crucial part of being successful in this industry. I did social media management freelance and also interned as a digital marketing strategist. I basically had to learn all the loops in my career so I don’t get taken advantage of in this very brutal industry.”

On global collaboration.

“On this album, I was able to bring in my collaborators from all around the world (producers & artists from the UK, USA, Seoul, Barcelona, Bahrain, and Italy) to work with me on this very special project. It was a very collaborative process and it was a breath of fresh air working with these insanely creative minds. Through this record, I was able to mold my sound and really showcase my capabilities as a music producer and songwriter. I worked on this record from the backend to the front and I’m really proud of myself for that.”

On pushing one’s passion.

“If being in the music industry is something that you really want to pursue, by all means go for it and put your heart into it. Artists that have that grit and passion for what they do will definitely make it farther, so be prepared for the struggles you’ll have to face cause this industry is tougher than it looks. I myself started out DIYing everything as an artist (which I still do to this day) so I believe anyone could do the same as long as there is willingness to learn and there is a clear goal. There will always be people who will have opinions about you or your work which is something I learned the hard way. You have to know how to segregate the hate from constructive criticism. Keeping this in mind really helped me grow and give myself a reality check from time to time. Sometimes all you need are people who truly believe in you and your capabilities in order to succeed.”
