Also present at the activity were officials of the Food and Nutrition Research Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (FNRI-DOST) headed by Dr. Mario Capanzana. They received over P100,000 worth of donation for FNRI’s Nutri T.E.K (Teknolohiya, Edukasyon at Kabuhayan) Para Sa Lahat program.

The program aims to teach participants how to make plant-based delicacies like vegetable kutsinta, squash siomai and home-made chocolates. The donation was collected through Robinsons Supermarket’s “Eat the Rainbow” program that encourages consumers to eat multi-colored fruits and vegetables.

Robinsons Supermarket partners with DTI for the World Consumer Rights Day

Returns, refunds, and exchanges are all part of doing business if its done in good faith for both the consumers and the store owners.

Have you ever experienced returns, refunds and exchanges?  Is the problem resolved in a timely manner?

Consumers might be unsatisfied with their purchasers for a number of reasons—the product has defects the moment they use it,  they ordered the wrong size, or it simply didn't meet their expectations. So they ask for a replacement or their money back.

Robinsons Supermarket partners with DTI to protect the welfare of its loyal customers and in celebration of World Consumer Rights Day.

Smart shoppers know how important it is to be meticulous in every purchase they make, from basic needs and household goods, to clothing, electronics, and other commodities. Not only should products and services be priced right, they must be of satisfactory quality and give consumers the best value for their hard-earned peso. In line with its commitment to protect the welfare of its loyal customers and in celebration of World Consumer Rights Day, Robinsons Supermarket has opened a Consumer Corner in all of its stores nationwide.

The Consumer Corner provides everyday shoppers with ready access to Department of Trade and industry (DTI) consumer-related information materials, which can help them make intelligent purchases, and enable them to assert their rights and exercise their responsibilities as consumers.

Through the Consumer Corner, shoppers become aware of which products are classified as basic commodities and are therefore subjected to suggested retail prices. They will also learn basic consumer rights, including the right to information, right to make choices, and right to receive compensation.

The facility also promotes awareness on DTI programs, as well as contact information for consumer complaints. “Aside from advocating wellness and a healthy lifestyle among our patrons, Robinsons Supermarket is also about espousing smart shopping, especially among families. Our partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry, through this Consumer Corner, will hopefully go a long way towards providing our customers with relevant and timely information, empowering them to become more intelligent and responsible shoppers, whether they are inside our supermarkets or buying in convenience stores,” said Jody Gadia,

Robinsons Supermarket Corporation managing director. The Consumer Corner was unveiled at the Robinsons Supermarket in Robinsons Place Manila by DTI officials led by Secretary Ramon Lopez, Consumer Protection Group Undersecretary Atty. Ruth Castelo, Consumer Protection and Advocacy Bureau Director IV Domingo Tolentino, and Gadia.

In line with the World Consumer Rights Day theme, “Trusted Smart Products”, which seeks to address opportunities and challenges in digital products and services, Robinsons Place Manila and the DTI Consumer Protection and Advocacy Bureau also hosted a Consumer Forum wherein innovations in smart products and smart technology were presented by the Department of Science and Technology.

The gathering also provided a preview of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) powered smart home, as well as how smart technology can help in disaster risk reduction management.

Running in the rain at The Robinsons Supermarket 11th Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run

Its that time of the year, when Robinsons Supermarket holds their annual Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run.  I've been part of their buddy run for the last 3 years and its one of the more fun runs because you have to be with a buddy until you cross the finish line, making it a "couple" effort of sorts.

I have been running for  the past 3 consecutive years with my buddy/partner Ed Uy of whereiseduy.com. This year was supposed to be even more special as it would be the first time I'd be partnering with my daughter Angel, however, the weather had other plans.

We woke up at  230AM and dressed up hurriedly, as we wanted to get a good parking space near the grandstand. Last year, we parked 5 blocks away from the venue and we were forced to walk that far carrying our huge and heavy loot bags. We decided to come early.  We arrived at 330AM and found  a good spot we even had time to take a nap, but we were awakened by the sudden heavy  downpour.

The rain continued even when it was already time for the gunstart and the organizers had to check the safety of the course before allowing the runners to begin.

They decided to push  through but had to disable the racing chips for the safety of the runners. Although we were a bit  drenched going around the various booth we decided not to continue  as it was very cold.

My grandson Finn was also just recovering from cough and though he was excited to run, we all decided it would be better to just wait it out and stay at the stage area and watch the program.

Celebrity endorsers Mikael Daez and Jessy Mendiola graced the fun run while Celebrity fitness trainers Jim and Toni Saret hosted the event.

Robinsons also gave everyone their  heavy loot bags even if most of us didnt finish the race. In all it still turned out to be a fun even and Im hoping next year would have a better weather.

The loot bags contained lots of freebies from Nestle, Johnson & Johnson, Wyeth Nutrition, Abbott Nutrition, Fonterra and Unilab.

The fun run is in line with Robinsons Supermarket’s wellness commitment to continuously encourage more people to choose and live healthier lifestyles.

Robinsons 10th Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run: Why its beneficial to run with a buddy

I started going to the gym 2 months ago. Until I felt a throbbing right leg pain that lasted for 2 weeks. I got myself checked up.  My PT doctor recommended and signed me up to a Rehab Medicine. My therapist recommended an exercise focused mainly on leg strengthening. I underwent ultrasound for the right leg and completed my 4 sessions and took glucosamine for my bones. The pain was gone after the treatment and asked my therapist if its okay to go back to the gym and or run.  She said that I should as soon as possible.

It was just in time that an invite for Robinsons 10th Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run came up. I have been running for Robinsons since 2015. The first time I ran for 5K I remember I was alone but instantly got a blogger buddy at the venue. It was fun, because  I endured the whole 5K , walking, running and jogging with a whole lot of chika along its pace and turns with my blogger friend Ruth. There was never a dull moment, before we knew it, we were at the finish line.

The good thing about running for 5K is that it takes a less of a toll on your body. With short races, the less mileage you run, the lower your risk to have injuries. That's why I always signed up for 5K.  Its a safe and fun way to build stamina.

I promised myself since then that I will join Robinsons fun run every year with or without a partner.  Last year though, I was surprised that my partner joined the run. He woke up early, dressed up and eagerly joined me.  We were a running pair since then. Errr, a running/jogging/walking pair, to you.

Last Sunday, July 2 Robinsons Supermarket held its 10th Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run at Camp Aguinaldo. I ran again with my buddy Ed of whereiseduy.com. We left the house at 5am and arrived in Camp Aguinaldo at 6:15 am. The traffic was building up around Cubao but we were lucky to have parked inside the Camp and was able to ran even if we were 10 minutes late.

We finished the race for 35 minutes and he told me that he would be joining annually. That was good news for me.

In line with Robinsons Supermarket’s wellness campaign to continuously encourage more people to choose and live healthier lifestyles, the Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run gave everyone an opportunity to partner with friends and family, and run together towards the finish line.

“Through the years, the Fit & Fun Buddy Run has been a much-anticipated event for a lot of people. It’s our kick-off as we celebrate with the nation, Wellness and Nutrition month. It provides a fun gateway activity for fitness newbies who are just about to start their wellness journey and loyal runners,” said general manager of Robinsons Supermarket, Mr. Jody Gadia.

Hosted by volleyball superstar and TV personality, Gretchen Ho, the event also featured exciting booths with lots of freebies from Nestle Philippines, Johnson & Johnson, Fonterra, Unilab and Wyeth Nutrition, Unilever, International Pharmaceuticals Incorporated (IPI), Procter & Gamble, Abbott Nutrition, Getz Bros, Ecossential, Del Monte, Foodsphere Inc., and Philusa.

Coaches Jim and Toni Saret prepped-up the runners with a short work-out and invited them to register on-site for the Fit Filipino 1 Million Pounds National Weight Loss Challenge, the biggest on-ground and online wellness program in the country which aims to encourage everyone to pledge and lose weight.

The Fun Run is just one of the programs this July. Robinsons Supermarket is also giving away Healthy You snack platters for a minimum purchase of Php3,000 inclusive of Php 500 worth of participating items of the Wellness Festival.

Robinsons Supermarket‘s commitment to wellness campaign extends to providing Filipinos with delicious and healthy food options and alternatives.

Robinsons Supermarket explores Wellness with the "Route to Wellness" campaign

"You are what you eat."

Did you know that what you put on your plate is even more important than what you put on your skin?

According to Samantha Heller, MS, RD, a clinical nutritionist at NYU Medical Center in New York City, "Everything you eat becomes a part of not only your inner being, but the outer fabric of your body as well. The healthier the foods are that you consume, the better your skin will look."

So if you truly want fabulous skin -- glowing, vibrant, and, even younger-looking skin, you should be more conscious about what you put on your plate.

What you eat defines you. Everything you eat becomes a part of not only your inner being, but the outer fabric of your body as well. Eating a well-balanced diet can also help you get the calories and nutrients you need to fuel your daily activities.
