TCL TechMania CoolFest Year 2: Smart Living Redefined with SM Appliance Center

 Beats and breakthroughs undeniably unite people. Combine the two, and you get an explosive celebration of music, creativity, and technology. With this in mind, TCL, the Triple Global Top 1 TV Brand and a trusted leader in home appliances, brings back TCL TechMania: CoolFest Year 2, co-presented by SM Appliance Centernow the biggest and coolest event of the year, held last June 28, 2025, at SM Mall of Asia Music Hall.

This year, TCL CoolFest Y2 transcended the typical music festival. It transformed into a vibrant spectacle, highlighting everything "cool"—from high-energy performances by guest artists and online content creators to the appearance of the hottest brand ambassador, and most importantly, the innovative TCL appliances showcased throughout the venue. Through interactive games and immersive zones, TCL CoolFest Y2 truly demonstrated what it means to live a cool, smart, and stylish life.

 

The absolute highlight of TCL CoolFest Y2 is The Smart Living Zone: Where Innovation Meets Experience, an immersive space that showcases the latest high-tech appliances from TCL Philippines. This zone features the newest lineup of QLED and QD-Mini LED TVs, alongside the advanced range of air conditioning units, washing machines, and refrigerators.

Fans and guests were able to test and explore the brand’s latest innovations, from the massive 98-inch QD-Mini LED TV and FreshIN 3.0 Inverter Air Conditioner, to the WashPro Combo+ and the Free Built-in Multi-Door Refrigerator, all defining TCL’s smart connectivity and energy-saving features in life. Likewise, the guests also joined in on the fun through the “Spin the Wheel” activity — a crowd favorite. All they had to do was register, post photos using event hashtags, and get a chance to win exclusive TCL merchandise.

Tech enthusiasts and passionate fans alike converged, all seemingly swept up in the TechMania fever. Aside from the main program, TCL CoolFest Y2 also provided fun activities for the crowd like Spin The Wheel and gave out exciting prizes such as TCL CoolFest Y2 merchandise.

Also present onstage were innovative leaders from the TCL Philippines company who are responsible for overseeing the cool development of each product line at TCL Philippines namely the Deputy Director of Brownline Products Mr. Charlie Huang, Deputy Product Director of the Air Conditioner Line Mr. Bert Cheung, and Senior Product Manager, Washing Machine and Refrigerators Mr. Eric Li. Together, they unveiled TCL’s innovations, including the QD-Mini LED TVs, T-AI-powered air conditioners, and inverter motor for washers and refrigerators, emphasizing energy efficiency, smart control, and premium design.


 

TCL also brought out brand partners and content creators Charuth and Jomari Angeles, who added vibrance and relatability to the brand story. After visiting the TCL Cool Truck and Smart Living Zone, they shared how TCL tech makes everyday living more exciting, convenient, and future-ready.

A major highlight was the return of Kathryn Bernardo, Asia’s Superstar and TCL's beloved brand endorser. With heartfelt energy, she shared how TCL has become part of her everyday life

“It honestly feels so amazing to be here again. I always look forward to TCL events because they’re fun, exciting, and full of energy, just like today’s Coolfest! I feel so lucky to be part of a brand that’s not just about innovation, but also about making real connections with people,” Kathryn enthused.

She continued, “And of course, with the support of SM Appliance Center, it’s even more special. Together, TCL and SM Appliance Center are bringing the coolest and smartest tech to every Filipino home. And I’m so proud to be part of that. So thank you for having me again, and I can’t wait to enjoy the rest of TechMania with all of you!” 


The chosen lucky fans, dubbed the "Coolfest Barkada," had the chance to interact with Kathryn through engaging games like "Guess That, Kath!" and "Unbox The Cool." Winners of both games took home exciting prizes from TCL.

 

Capping off the program was an energizing musical treat from Lola Amour, a soaring Filipino band known for their unique blend of modern rock, funk, and pop. Lola Amour sang their hits, namely ‘San Kakapit’, ‘Fallen’, ‘Dance’, and the most popular of ‘em all, ‘Raining in Manila’. Definitely, their distinctive sounds captivated the Gen Z crowd and beyond all requesting for more!

TCL Champions Youth and Sports with New Court at Araullo High School for Olympic Day

It unites top local basketball players and professional coaches in a revitalized venue, aiming to inspire greatness among young, aspiring athletes at the grassroots level.

The event, dubbed the ‘TCL Basketball Camp,’ took place at Araullo High School in Manila, gathering top basketball players from professional and collegiate leagues. To kickstart the program, a contract signing ceremony officially sealed the partnership between TCL Electronics and Araullo High School. TCL CEO Peter Chen, TCL Deputy Marketing Director Shae Yu, TCL Deputy Product Director of Air Conditioner Bert Cheung, TCL Brand Manager Joseph Cernitchez, together with Rain or Shine Assistant Brand Manager Red Magcase, and Araullo High School Assistant School Principal II Ms. Ebuena P. Alvarez were present at the contract signing. 

“We're happy to launch this partnership officially. As we celebrate International Olympic Day and our status as the Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, this basketball clinic perfectly embodies TCL's commitment to ‘Inspire Greatness’ among hopeful kids who aspire to do their best in the field of basketball,” shared Peter Chen, TCL Philippines CEO.

TCL Champions School Sportsmanship

 

Giving an enthusiastic vibe to the collaboration between TCL and Araullo High School, a newly refurbished TCL basketball court was unveiled, making it even more enticing and functional for aspiring student-athletes. The 4,700 square feet basketball court and 2,072 square feet outside basketball court lines were refreshed in collaboration with Rain or Shine, who provided the paint materials. TCL TVs and air-conditioning units worth ₱300,000 were also donated to further enhance the basketball court and school facilities. 

 

To kick off the basketball activities, TCL Deputy Product Director of Air Conditioner, Bert Cheung, performed the ceremonial first shot. Followed by the main highlight of the whole event, the Basketball Clinic, which was facilitated by Better BasketballPH Skills Camp, wherein forty young athletes participated. Adding to the excitement was JD Cagulangan, UP Fighting Maroon and Suwon KT Sonicboom's Rookie of the Year in the Korean Basketball League (KBL), who provided guidance and inspiration. JD joined the basketball clinic and shot hoops with the participants.

 

TCL's brand partner, Blackwater Coach Jeffrey Cariaso, also participated, sharing his basketball expertise through a concise coaching principles session specifically for PE coaches. Joining Coach Jeffrey in the discussion is Araullo High’s Head Teacher VI, MAPEH Department, Mr. Augusto D. Baldoz.

Upholding the Olympic Spirit

Also in line with the first global celebration of Olympic Day as a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, TCL was honored in a special ceremony on June 22, with its name added to the Donors’ Wall at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland. This recognition highlights TCL's significant contribution to smart terminals and display solutions, which are set to enhance the development of sports and culture through innovative technology. The ceremony saw key representatives from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), including President Thomas Bach and President-elect Kirsty Coventry, Olympic Museum Director Angelita Teo alongside Chief Operating Officer of TCL Technology Kevin Wang, who unveiled a commemorative marble brick engraved with TCL’s logo. This permanent addition signifies TCL's outstanding contributions to the international Olympic movement, echoing the Olympic spirit of "Faster, Higher, Stronger—Together" and TCL's commitment to "Inspire Greatness."

Further extending this collaboration, TCL was invited to witness the historic inauguration of Kirsty Coventry as the 10th IOC President on June 23, marking a new chapter for the Olympic movement. Coventry's groundbreaking leadership as the first female and first African IOC President resonates deeply with TCL’s ‘TCLforHer’ initiative, a platform dedicated to empowering women globally through technology and culture. To amplify the Olympic Day celebrations worldwide, TCL also launched its first global campaign, inspired by the IOC’s "Let’s Move" initiative. This campaign includes a dynamic film bridging two future Winter and Summer Olympic host cities through the power of TCL display technology. 

Leading up to the 2025 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, TCL will continue the momentum sparked by this campaign to build on its 30th legacy in sport, furthering its collaboration with the IOC to support cultural engagement with cutting-edge technology and advance the Olympic movement’s evolution.
