The Pop Stage to name Php 1M winner on August 2!


The top six acts of “The Pop Stage” are set to take center stage one last time as they compete for the Php 1 million grand prize along with a one-year-contract with Viva Artist Agency, on the show's grand finals on August 2.



The top six grand finalists are Job Christian Tolonghari, who performed a two-part musical short featuring his original songs about following his passions; Dia Mate, who impressed the judges and viewers with her refreshing and calming song number; ROXORBEAT, who took his beatboxing talent to the next level by incorporating a harmonica and showing how he can simultaneously produce ten beats from his mouth; CJ Villavicencio, who showed his singing skills and acting chops, as he performed an Eraserheads medley with a theatrical storyline; El-John Zian, who was an all-out pop star as he showed intense choreography to his original song “Whatever It Takes;” and spoken word poet Martin Naling, who delivered a heart-wrenching piece about the death of his father, his past struggles, and his ongoing journey to pursuing his dreams.

The online show's host and creator, Matteo Guidicelli, together with singers Jed Madela and Lani Misalucha, and G-Force dancer Ritz Beltran, gave their scores and opinions about the performances based on originality and creativity, quality of performance, and entertainment value.

Following the final performances of the top six contestants, The Pop Stage will be concluding with a Grand Finale on August 2 where the country’s next biggest star will be named.

Who will be The Pop Stage Champion and win P1 Million from Popeyes?



Despite the pandemic, the resourcefulness and creativity of Filipinos continue to shine as incredibly talented individuals take centerstage in "The Pop Stage," an online show created and hosted by Matteo Guidicelli. Now that the competition is getting more intense, we are getting closer to finding out who will be The Pop Stage champion and bring home the PHP 1 million cash prize from Popeyes Philippines and the 1-year contract with Viva Artists Agency.

The Pop Stage has recently revealed the Final 6 who will be moving on to the grand finals and have a chance to win life-changing prizes.

Guidicelli, together with singers Jed Madela & Lani Misalucha, and G-Force dancer Ritz Beltran, watched and deliberated the 13 semifinalists based on originality and creativity, quality of performance, and entertainment value.
By the end of the semifinals, the six contenders with the highest scores earned them a spot in the competition's grand finals.



Among the Final 6 is spoken word poet Martin Naling who recited a tear-jerking piece about the struggles and hardships of overseas Filipino workers. CJ Villavicencio, with his cover of "Pwede Ba" by Lola Amour, and Job Christian Tolonghari, who sang an original song titled "O Binibini, Pwede Ba?", also made it to the Grand Finals.

Joining them in the grand finals are dancer El-John Zian, who grooved to the song "Unang Hakbang" by Quest; Dia Mate who gave refreshing vibes with her song titled "Drowning;" and beatboxer ROXORBEAT with his catchy tunes.

With the Final 6 now complete, the competition is not yet over as the remaining acts prepare to show all they’ve got in the upcoming grand finals. In the end, only one winner will receive the grand prize worth Php 1 million and a one-year contract with Viva Artists Agency. The Pop Stage is presented with the support of Popeyes Philippines and Viva Artists Agency.

Top 13 The Pop Stage semifinalists show off diverse creativity



The incredibly talented contestants of "The Pop Stage" are not letting the lockdown hinder them from expressing their creativity and making the most of their own resources. Because of this, all 13 semifinalists, chosen by the show’s creator and host Matteo Guidicelli, together with judges Jed Madela and Ritz Beltran, with the support of Popeyes Philippines in partnership with Viva Artists Agency, have proven themselves worthy of their spots in the competition.

Many of the semifinalists presented original compositions that showed their artistic creativity including singers Luigi D'Avola, Sarah Mae Guno, Giancarlo Calibuso, and Dia Mate. Spoken word poet Martin Naling, dancer El-John Macalatan, beatboxer Roxor Beat, and four-piece indie rock band Silent Moon also showed their own works during the show’s elimination rounds.



Other semifinalists decided to show off their singing prowess by doing amazing covers of their favorite songs like Jehramae Trangia, CJ Villavicencio, Job Christian Tolonghari, Yumi Josue, and Angel Rose Marco.

The semifinalists will continue to prove that they have what it takes to win The Pop Stage. In the end, only one winner will receive the cash prize worth Php 1 million and a one-year contract with Viva Artists Agency. The Pop Stage is presented with the support of Popeyes Philippines and Viva Artists Agency.

Join “The Pop Stage” to win Php1M and talent contract



Dreaming of becoming the next big pop star?  Well, even in quarantine, you might just get the big break that will change your life forever.

Singer-actor Matteo Guidicelli will be setting up an online talent reality competition titled "The Pop Stage" to discover the next idol in the entertainment industry. The show will be presented by Popeyes in partnership with Viva Artists Agency.

"There are so many talented Filipinos, a lot of viral videos, a lot of crazy performances going around, but we want to make it legit. We want everyone in the world to see your skills and what you can do," Guidicelli said during the online launch of Central Delivery, a new delivery service that also offers food items from Popeyes Philippines.

To join “The Pop Stage,” just visit www.thepopstage.ph and send a video of your audition piece. You may sing, dance, play instruments, do magic, or perform whatever talent worth showing off.



Of course, this once in a lifetime opportunity also comes with the most amazing prizes. The winner of "The Pop Stage" will receive a cash prize worth Php 1 million and a one-year contract with Viva Artists Agency.

Guidicelli explained that the entries will be deliberated by a panel of judges. Those who will be chosen will be featured on a weekly show that will be streamed both on The Pop Stage’s Facebook Page at @thepopstage and Matteo Guidicelli’s Facebook page at @matteog. No need for selected contestants to leave their homes for the weekly show - arrangements will be made so they can stream from their current locations. 

All individuals or groups (maximum of 4 members) who are ages 13 to 25 years old are encouraged to send their audition tapes from May 9 to May 27, 2020.
