I used to work in a hospital before. I remember when I was assigned at Delivery Room as a ward clerk. No one saved those umbilical cords for cord blood banking. It was thrown away right after deliveries. I should know because I was documenting each (Normal and Caesarean Section) deliveries in my shift. This was in the mid 90s.
