Leo Consul Loves ‘Kamu’ His Initial Single Under Star Records

Going the rounds of local radio stations, Leo Consul is just so proud and happy that his initial single under Star Music is now officially out. Titled Kamu, it is the Bahasa (Indonesia) version of the Yeng Constantino hit song, Ikaw.

Kamu was first released in Indonesia and is now the number two most requested song.

Leo recorded Kamu in the Philippines several months ago when he came home for a short visit. He explained the song was selected because it has charisma that would appeal to both Pinoys and Indonesians. Leo and his friend translated Ikaw to Bahasa Indonesia.

The song is now available in all digital platforms worldwide like iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, and amazon.com. The official music video of Kamu can be watched on YouTube.

“This is amazing given the fact that I don’t only get to release it in the Philippines but in Indonesia, as well. I get to showcase the massive talents of Pinoys in an international platform which is an amazing opportunity not only for me but to all the Filipinos out there. It will somehow open doors to all talented Filipino music artists. We deserve to be heard,” Leo said.

Leo Consul is an Asian Artists Agency, Inc. talent. For inquiries, please call (02) 855-4765 or (02) 405-4423, emailinfo@asianartistsagency.com, and visit fb.com/asianartistsagency

Aiko Melendez and her trending memes

This is my 2nd time to meet Ms. Aiko Melendez aka as Emilia Torillo in Wildflower, in person.  She talks fondly about her son, her memes, her ketogenic diet and the role she plays as Emilia on a fun afternoon on Aug 24 at Limbaga Restaurant.

For Aiko Melendez, who plays Emilia in the hit drama “WildFlower,”she finds her trending memes very flattering.

“I find them flattering, even though some of them are aimed at bashing me,”  Aiko told media  in a recent lunch meet organized by Asian Artists Agency  a talent and booking company.

Aiko’s Emilia Ardiente-Torillo, is the conniving  and attention-seeking archnemesis of lead character Ivy Aguas (played by Maja Salvador).

“Emilia’s reactions are often big and exaggerated, that’s why people like toying with her. I even have some of the memes saved in my phone,” Aiko said showing us some of the photos.

“The one where the cast members are pointing guns at each other and asking: ‘Who farted?’ and the one with her supposedly asking: ‘Nag-deo ka ba? Ang baho eh!’” are among her favorites.

“Grabe yung effort na ginagawa nila to make these meme’s and I think it just shows na people are watching and are interested in the show, and that they appreciate Emilia.

Aiko said she is having the time of her life portraying Emilia.  “I wanted to put a different twist to portraying a kontrabida. Emilia is a villain you will hate, but, at the same time, laugh at. I also want people to pity her because, if you trace her backstory, her father and husband never
really loved her. Kaya ganun ang nangyari sa kanya.

Aiko only has good words for fellow actress Maja Salvador even if they often have physical confrontations and Maja already injured her eye.  “I  think we’re soulmates, when it comes to acting, because we can read each other’s minds with just one look. I have high regard for Maja—she’s always ready with her lines, and is even conscious of the colors of both our nails for continuity’s sake. She’s amazing!”

As to the eye gouging incident, Aiko shared “Maja was supposed to smear the cake I was holding on my face. We were both wearing high-heeled shoes, and we slipped because of the icing on the floor, and she hit me by accident.”

Aiko was brought to the hospital, where doctors said she sustained a blood clot. She added that the injury was only a dot away from her cornea, which, if damaged, could cause her to go blind.

“We still got to finish taping the scene. I guess it’s because of adrenaline, but I didn’t feel pain until Wendell saw the redness in my eye,” When Maja learned about it she cried pa nga because she felt guilty–pero accidents happen kaya now we have this joke na kapag may confrontation scene dapat may nakastand by na na ambulance.

Meet the boys of 26Hundred B.C.

The ASIAN ARTISTS AGENCY, INC. (AAAI) has discovered five  golden voices in Baguio City. The all-male quintet which calls itself 26HUNDREDB.C is now part of the growing roster of talents of the artist management company.

26HUNDREDB.C will be launched in a concert at the Forest Lodge, Camp John Hay in Baguio City on August 11, Friday and at the SM City Baguio Event Center on August 12, Saturday. Both concerts will have as guest another Asian Artists Agency talent, the duo Miko and Gabriel. Also featured in the launch is singer/comedienne Jenny Gabriel, a Tawag ng Tanghalan finalist.

26HUNDREDB.C members were discovered during auditions conducted by Boy Abunda,
president and CEO of AAAI. The group is composed of Karl Russel Rillorta, Arian Anglo, Robert Co, John Carlo Opulencia and Janriel Abance. They all come from Baguio City and were schoolmates at the University of Baguio.

The group revealed they were clueless and unaware that a new world was opening right before their eyes when they passed the auditions. They were hand-picked by Boy Abunda from the number of hopeful young men and women who braved the rain and skipped school to join the auditions.

“The presence of Tito Boy was too much to handle, nakakalula,” quipped John Carlo who sings OPM. "We were scared to death. Halos di kami makapagsalita. Tito Boy is an overwhelming presence," said Janriel.

When asked what’s behind the name 26HundredB.C., Janriel explained, "Naming the group was a big challenge.

Everyone offered a suggestion. But only one name really stuck in everyone’s mind. 26Hundred is the zip code of Baguio City and we are proud of our place." B.C was added because everybody comes from Baguio City.

Janriel, an indie music lover also added “our name is very clever, it’s easy to remember and it is our identity.”

As a young vocal group, the hardest struggle was the differences in their personalities. “We didn’t know each other,” said Robert,  a jazz and theater music lover.
Arian, who is fond of pop-rock music, alternative and OPM admitted that they have diverse musical influences.

Karl Russel who likes jazz and R&B, pointed out that despite their  personality differences and music genre variances, they gel and connect with each other perfectly.
Their contrasting and diverse musical backgrounds serve as the group's musical base.
