mWell Advocates Greater Mental Health Awareness

Mental health stigma in the Philippines remains a significant barrier to care. Rooted in cultural expectations of resilience, mental health struggles are too often misread as weakness, pushing individuals to suffer quietly rather than seek the help they deserve. Deep-seated values like hiya and pakikisama compound the silence, as many fear bringing embarrassment to themselves or their families by admitting they are not okay. In the workplace, the stakes feel even higher: about 75% of Filipinos believe that disclosing mental health concerns compromises their professional opportunities, the highest rate among ASEAN countries, according to the International Labor Organization. And for many, the cost of professional mental health support remains the final barrier.

mWell addresses all of these barriers head-on, with technology that is accessible, affordable, and built for real Filipinos.

"Mind health is just as important as physical health, and yet for so many Filipinos, asking for help still feels out of reach — whether because of stigma, cost, or simply not knowing where to turn. True well-being cannot exist without both. At mWell, we are committed to making sure that every Filipino has a place to turn to, for their body and for their mind, because a healthier Filipino is a stronger Filipino. We want every person to know that support is there for them, whenever they are ready, and that taking care of their mind is one of the most courageous things they can do for themselves," said Chaye Cabal-Revilla, President and CEO of mWell and Chief Finance, Risk, and Sustainability Officer of MPIC.

MEETING FILIPINOS AT EVERY STAGE OF THEIR MIND HEALTH JOURNEY

mWell's mind health services are designed to meet Filipinos at every stage of their mental health journey, starting from the moment they decide to check in with themselves.

Available for free on the mWell app, the Mind Health Score and self-guided modules give users a private, judgment-free starting point. The Mind Health Score, built on the scientifically validated WHO-5 Well-Being Index, helps users understand where they stand emotionally and mentally, while the self-guided modules use evidence-based techniques to help manage stress, build resilience, and improve overall emotional balance, all at their own pace.

When a user is ready to talk to someone, mWell makes professional support within reach. The mWell Mind Healthsavers Plan offers a 30-minute video session with a certified Mind Health Coach that users can avail anytime within 30 days upon purchase. For those who require a higher level of care, mWell also offers scheduled and on-demand consultations with coaches, psychologists, or psychiatrists. Both are available for as low as P499, making it easier than ever for Filipinos to take that next step without the weight of financial worry.

EXPANDING OUR NETWORK OF CARE THROUGH STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

Central to delivering on this promise is mWell's partnership with MindNation, a global mental health and well-being organization trusted by top employers, schools, and government institutions across the world.

Through this collaboration, mWell is expanding its network of certified mental health specialists, ensuring that more Filipinos have access to qualified, culturally sensitive care whenever they need it. The partnership reflects a shared conviction that mental health support should not be a privilege, but a right that every Filipino can exercise.

"At MindNation, we have always believed that mental health support should be something every person can reach, not a privilege reserved for the few. Partnering with mWell brings us closer to that vision, expanding the number of qualified, compassionate specialists available to Filipinos when and where they need them most. Together, we are not just adding names to a roster. We are building a stronger, more accessible safety net for the nation's well-being," said Eizaleen Fusingan-Lappay, PhDc, LPT, RPm, RPsy, Chief WellBeing Officer, MindNation.

A GLOBAL STANDARD OF CARE FOR EVERY FILIPINO

mWell's commitment to accessible digital healthcare has earned recognition on the world stage. mWell recently won the Global Mobile (GLOMO) Award for Best Mobile Innovation Supporting Emergency or Humanitarian Situations at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, Spain, marking a back-to-back GLOMO victory following its 2023 win for Best Mobile Innovation for Digital Life, and making it the first Philippine healthtech app to win in this category. With this recognition, mWell joins leading global brands such as Apple, Samsung, Huawei, and more among this year's GLOMO winners.

The global accolade is a testament to what mWell has always believed: that technology, when built with purpose, can transform lives. Its mind health services are the latest expression of that belief, bringing world-class mental health support within reach of every Filipino, wherever they are. As one of the top health and wellness apps in the Philippines, mWell continues to make holistic healthcare more accessible through innovations that empower Filipinos to take charge of their health anytime, anywhere.

mWell Introduces ECG Ring, the Country’s First Smart Ring with Heart Monitoring

mWell, the Philippines’ health and wellness mega app by Metro Pacific Health Tech Corporation, strengthens its leadership in digital health with the launch of the mWellECG Ring, the country’s first wellness ring with built-in ECG monitoring. This latest innovation follows the successful launch of the mWell Ring in May 2024, the first smart wellness ring of its kind in the Philippine market.

mWell envisions a future where every Filipino has access to preventive healthcare that is both accessible and affordable,” said Manuel V. Pangilinan, mWell Chairman and Metro Pacific Investments Corporation Chairman, President. “The ECG Ring helps us deliver medical insights that fit into real life. Everyone should be able to take the right steps for their health every single day, and not only when they're sick.”

The mWell Ring introduced Filipinos to a new way of monitoring health through sleep and lifestyle data. Known for its accurate sleep tracking, it captures light, deep, REM, and total sleep, and provides essential metrics that support those with sleep-related concerns. It also generates the mWellness Score, giving users a clear, daily snapshot of their overall health. By offering these capabilities at an accessible price, it helped open the wearables category to more Filipinos.

“The new mWell ECG Ring builds on this foundation by adding everyday heart monitoring,” said Chaye Cabal-Revilla, President and CEO of mWell and Chief Finance, Risk, and Sustainability Officer of MPIC. “On top of all existing mWell Ring features, users can now view ECG results directly on the mWell app and share them with their doctors as a PDF file through messaging apps or email, making it easy to get timely medical advice. These readings, along with other health data, can be securely stored in their mWell Health ID to support continuity of care and make it easier to track progress over time.”

Heart health remains a priority in the Philippines. According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, ischaemic heart diseases were the leading cause of death in 2024. For many Filipinos balancing busy routines, regular screenings are not always accessible. Simple, wearable tools that encourage consistent monitoring can help bridge this gap by empowering users to stay more aware of their health every day.

“As a physician, I believe wearable devices like the ECG Ring are a game-changer for personalized care,” says Dr. Raymond Francis Sarmiento, Chief Operating Officer of mWell. “They make it possible to monitor vital signs effortlessly and detect early warning signs, helping turn prevention into an everyday habit.”

The device includes an ECG monitor, heart rate monitor, blood oxygen monitor, sleep monitor, and electrical heart sensor. Crafted from titanium with a scratch-free finish, it features a lightweight design, top-grade sensors, IP68 water resistance, and a seven-day battery life. It is available in a stylish two-toned design.

Many popular smart rings around the world cost significantly more and still don’t offer ECG features, as noted by tech reviewers from publications like TechRadar and Wareable. With built-in ECG monitoring and no subscription fees, the mWell ECG Ring delivers more advanced health insights at a more accessible price.

The mWell ECG Ring is now available for a special introductory price of P12,999 with free shipping and no monthly subscription fee. Regular price is P13,999. Purchase it through the mWell app’s eShop or online at https://shop.mwell.com.ph/pages/mwell-ecg-ring.

Beyond the new ECG Ring, mWell also offers a growing wearable ecosystem to support proactive health monitoring. The mWell Smart Watches help users stay active with over 100 sports modes and track blood pressure, heart rate, and blood oxygen levels. Together with the mWell Ring and mWell ECG Ring, they complete a suite of devices designed to democratize proactive healthcare and deliver actionable health insights through the mWell app.

Because protecting your health does not have to be complicated. Start now and choose a future where care feels closer, clearer, and truly made for you.

Imagine having all your medical information right at your fingertips — no more folders, no more waiting in line for printouts. With the mWell app, you can now access your medical records, lab results, prescriptions, procedures, and even your doctor’s schedule all in one place. Whether you’re tracking your medications or checking your lab results from a recent test, everything’s stored securely and paperlessly within the app. Managing your health has never been this easy — just a few taps, and you’re in full control of your wellness journey.

Gabby Concepcion, mWell Wellness Champion; Chaye Cabal-Revilla, mWell President and CEO and Metro Pacific Investments Corporation Chief Finance, Risk, and Sustainability Officer; Manny V. Pangilinan, mWell Chairman and

Metro Pacific Investments Corporation Chairman, President, and CEO; Henry Aguda, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary; Migui Planas, DICT Assistant Secretary; Joy Barcoma, Miss Philippines Earth 2025; and Bently D. Roxas, Department of Health Director IV, Knowledge Management and Information Technology Services, during the mWell x DICT partnership signing at the mWell Primary Care Facility.

Changing the landscape of Philippine healthcare, mWell, the digital healthcare arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC), has partnered with the Department of Information and

Communications Technology (DICT) to explore the integration of healthcare services into the government’s eGov PH App. This landmark collaboration aims to create the country's first national digital health integration within a government platform, enabling millions of Filipinos to gain direct access to doctors, health records, and essential services.

“This partnership will be foundational in providing every Filipino their right to quality care,” said mWell

Chairman and MPIC Chairman, President, and CEO Manuel V. Pangilinan. “Healthcare is always among the top concerns of our countrymen. Together with government, we will close the healthcare gap and uplift quality of life in every community, and across every generation.”

DICT Secretary Henry R. Aguda emphasized the significance of the collaboration.

“This partnership with mWell is a critical step in building a digitally connected nation where every Filipino has access to quality healthcare. By integrating these essential services into our eGov PH App, we are not only advancing the government's Digital Philippines agenda but also making good on our promise to bring health services directly to our people, no matter where they are.”

Chaye Cabal-Revilla, President and CEO of mWell and Chief Finance, Risk, and Sustainability Officer of MPIC, underscored the transformational opportunity.

“The future of healthcare is now. This partnership brings together the country’s greatest minds and the biggest hearts committed to make the Philippines a global leader in digital health. By working closely with the DICT, we are creating a digital healthcare network where government, providers, and patients are united by technology and compassion. It means a mother in a remote barangay can consult a doctor without leaving her community. It means young people can seek

mind health support with dignity and privacy. It means families can keep their medical history safe for a lifetime. This is the promise of digital health that provides accessible, affordable, and inclusive care for all.”

The ceremonial signing was held at the mWell Primary Care Facility (PCF), the country’s first AI-powered clinic and mWell’s experience center for digital health. Powered by mWell’s Clinic Management Systemn(CMS), PCF integrates mWell’s technologies, including the Health ID and AI-powered Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

Aside from serving patients, PCF demonstrates how mWell’s solutions can empower both

public and private health providers in support of Universal Health Care.

Supporting a Digital Philippines and Universal Health Coverage

The recent launch of the Philippines’ first digital Health ID through mWell goes beyond digitization. It establishes interoperable healthcare infrastructure that supports Universal Health Care goals and alignsbwith the government’s Digital Philippines agenda, including health programs such as the Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP).

As part of the partnership, mWell and DICT are working towards integrating the mWell Health ID into the eGov PH App, which already has 18 million registered users. This planned integration positions mWell asbthe health engine behind DICT’s eGov platform, advancing a shared mission to make quality healthcarebaccessible to all Filipinos.

Through this collaboration, eGov PH users are envisioned to gain access to thousands of primary carebdoctors and specialists as well as mind health experts. mWell’s digital Health ID secures lifetime personal health records for individuals and families, while one-tap booking makes consultations more convenient.

Gerb Inajada, Chief Technology Officer of mWell said, “Our goal is simple: to remove the friction between patients, doctors, and government by making healthcare services seamlessly accessible through a single, trusted digital gateway. This integration ensures that every Filipino, wherever they are, can have access to care without borders.

Pangilinan, mWell Chairman and MPIC Chairman, President and CEO, Mr. Henry Aguda, Secretary, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), and Mr. Luis Miguel Planas, Assistant Secretary, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

Building a sustainable and future-ready healthcare ecosystem

With the acquisition and integration of KonsultaMD, mWell has become the Philippines’ leading digital

health platform. Through the mWell app, patients can consult virtually with doctors 24/7, receive e-

prescriptions and lab referrals, and share their records with healthcare providers as needed.

Since the beginning of First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos’ Lab for All initiative, mWell has been providing telemedicine services to various communities nationwide. At the same time, mWell has been working with DICT to reach geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas, deploying the mWell OnTheGo Clinic-In-A-

Bag to remote barangays, bedridden patients,

Indigenous Peoples, and soldiers in conflict zones.

To complement these services, mWell introduced drone medicine delivery to isolated islands and launched BangkaHealth, which brings telemedicine to houses on stilts in Sulu via small boats. The collaboration aims to bring healthcare services to more communities and build a truly connected nation, ensuring that digital health reaches an even broader population.

As part of the MPIC Group, mWell is committed to working towards the achievement of the UN’s

Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being. It also supports the MVP Group’s Gabay Kalusugan advocacy focusing on quality and affordable healthcare.
