PH's First and Biggest Health and Wellness Festival for Teachers Hosted by GabayGuro and mWell

Teachers shape our future by imparting knowledge, values, and skills that guide us throughout life. In celebration of its 17th anniversaryGabay Guro holds the country’s first Health and Wellness Festival for Teachers as it launches its new program pillar with mWell on October 6 at the Ynares Sports Complex in Pasig City

Teachers play a vital role in instilling values, inspiring dreams, and laying the foundation for a brighter tomorrow. Taking care of our teachers is taking care of our children too. The Wellness Fest is a new initiative that underscores the importance of teachers’ holistic well-being, recognizing how vital mental and physical health are in enhancing educational success and empowering educators to thrive in their roles.


 



With the theme “Teachers Inspiring Change, Building the Country’s Future,” Gabay Guro Grand gathering will not only entertain but also include new elements focused on teachers’ well-being. Attendees can look forward to interactive programs designed to enable them to thrive both in and out of the classroom.The event features wearable wellness technology and gathers Lifestyle medicine doctors, fitness coaches, celebrity athletes in one big wellness festival for teachers. 

Holistic Teacher Support: Wellness Fest Takes the Spotlight

Gabay Guro’s Health and Wellness Fest will be staged in cooperation with mWell, the country’s health and wellness mega app.

The festival will provide teachers access to free health consultations, fitness sessions, and wellness workshops. At the core of the wellness fest is holistic and preventive wellness. Beyond doctor consultation, the event aims to empower teachers with health and wellness services from mWell readily available anytime, anywhere with just few taps on the phone. 

Central to the event are also interactive discussions on mental health, stress management, nutrition, and self-care—critical areas teachers often neglect due to the high pressures of their profession. Additionally, attendees can explore experiential booths focusing on fitness, food and nutrition, wearables, mind health, and telemedicine.

Gabay Guro Honors Filipino Teachers with Back-to-Back Tribute Events for National Teachers' Month and World Teachers' Day

 

From the moment we first step into a classroom, teachers become a cornerstone in shaping our lives. They do more than impart knowledge—they inspire, guide, and nurture our growth, helping us develop the skills and values that last a lifetime. Whether teaching us how to solve complex problems or offering a supportive hand during challenging times, teachers play an essential role in our personal and academic journeys. Today, as we celebrate them, we honor their unwavering dedication and the profound impact they have on our futures. Their influence is not just felt in the classroom but carried with us throughout our lives.

Honoring its commitment to continuously uplift the lives of Filipino teachers as they mold the Filipino youth for excellence in the global arena, Gabay Guro will hold back-to-back Teachers’ Tribute events for this year’s celebration of National Teachers’ Month and World Teachers Day.

In cooperation with the Department of Education (DepEd) and with the generous support of steadfast partners – Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC), PLDT Inc. (PLDT), and mWell through Metro Pacific Investments Foundation (MPIF) and PLDT-Smart Foundation (PSF) – Gabay Guro will stage its annual Grand Gathering on September 29, 2024Sunday, at the Meralco Theater in Ortigas Center, Pasig City.  

 

With the theme “Teachers Inspiring Change, Building the Country’s Future,” the Grand Gathering will feature a star-studded event led by A-list performers Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Pops Fernandez, Martin Nievera, Gabby Concepcion, Randy Santiago, Jed Madela, Jona, Kuh Ledesma, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Mark Bautista, and Megastar Ms. Sharon Cuneta. 

Gabay Guro advocates and volunteers are all set for the back-to-back Gabay Guro Grand Gathering happening on September 29 at the Meralco Theater and October 6 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

After the Grand Gathering,Gabay Guro will hold its first ever holistic health and wellness festival for teachers, the Gabay Guro Wellness Fest, on October 6, 2024,Sunday, at the Ynares Sports Arena in Shaw Boulevard, Pasig City. 

 




Under the umbrella of Gabay Guro’s Health and Wellness pillar, the event will be staged in cooperation with mWell, the country’s first fully integrated, fully digital health and wellness platform. It promises to be a day full of fun and informative sessions as mWell leads the teachers’ journey towards a healthier and well-balanced lifestyle through affordable access to healthcare anytime, anywhere. Teachers can explore thegathering of wellness services and experiential booths on fitness, food and nutrition, wearables, mind health, and telemedicine. Renowned wellness experts, athletes, and celebrities are also expected to grace the event. It will also highlight a special zumba session with top Youtube Zumba Group, the TML Crew,to kickstart the teachers wellness journey.  





The Wellness Fest is supported by Lifestyle Medical Manila, Awaken Fitness Center, ROX, SVMore Pharma, Mental Health Hour Manila, Physiare, Adcura Labs, Vision Express, Diagnostics Plus, De Los Santos Medical Center, and more. Gabay Guro holds a back-to-back teachers tribute this year

Demonstrating a steadfast dedication to honoring Filipino teachers who mold the minds of the youth for excellence, Gabay Guro presents a back-to-back tribute this year. The culmination of this tribute takes center stage in a spectacular ABS-CBN production, featuring the nation's top-notch singers and performers, all on one stage.

Billed “Pagpupugay at Pasasalamat Kay Ma’am at Sir,” the star-studded event also showcases excitingly huge raffle prizes as it is streams live on Oct. 14, 1pm from the famed Dolphy Theater inside the ABS-CBN compound to Gabay Guro’s Facebook page and Youtube Channel. It comes on the heels of the highly-successful Teachers’ Day celebration called “Together4Teachers” held last Oct. 5 at the Father Saturnino Urios University in Butuan City, Caraga Region in partnership with the Department of Education and Vice President Sara Duterte.


 This Gabay Guro kick-off event which paid tribute to over 3,000 teachers was graced by Senator Imee Marcos and headlined by Gabay Guro artist-advocates Ms. Pops Fernandez, Mark Bautista, Jed Madela, Jona, Daryl Ong, Regina and Ate Gay. 

The grand teachers’ tribute on Oct. 14 brings back the queens of local music, film and television -- the Megastar Ms. Sharon Cuneta and Asia’s Songbird Ms. Regine Velasquez -- on stage, along with high-calibre performers headlined by Ogie Alcasid, Jona, Klarisse, Bituin Escalante and other ABS-CBN performers who all share the same heartfelt respect for the Filipino teachers and their contribution to nation building.

Gabay Guro "Learning Never Stops" online training program are available on Facebook page and its free!


Gabay Guro, PLDT’s flagship educational program, provides free online trainings for teachers nationwide through its recently launched ‘Learning Never Stops’ campaign. As of May 30, 2020, Gabay Guro has led 13 e-learning sessions on Facebook with over 300,000 views to date. 

The online training videos uploaded on the Gabay Guro Facebook Page are all for free. These videos are available for replay which allows teachers to go learn at their own pace.
Topics of the live training and recorded webcasts include life learnings from the quarantine, virtual teaching 101, flipping the classroom, improving students' reading and comprehension, as well as teachers' mindset improvement in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through the comments sections and webinar discussions, many teachers have expressed their gratitude to Gabay Guro and the speakers for conducting these free webinars.

“Learning is constantly evolving. This is why our ‘Learning Never Stops’ campaign aims to empower our teachers amid the pandemic as we provide them with engaging online training videos conducted by reputable guest speakers. Through this campaign, we are equipping our teachers with digital competencies and capabilities that enable them to adapt in this new normal,” said PLDT SVP and Gabay Guro Chairwoman Chaye Cabal-Revilla.
“During these trying times, we want to assure our teachers that every opportunity will be given to them amid COVID-19. Our recently launched ‘Learning Never Stops’ campaign enables them to explore online trainings and curriculum that aim to expand their knowledge and expertise,” said PLDT and Smart VP for Learning and Development and Gabay Guro Head for Teachers’ Training Alexander Kibanoff.

Gabay Guro is spearheaded by the PLDT-Smart Foundation and PLDT Managers Club, Inc. The 12-year-old program empowers teachers across the country though initiatives in seven key pillars. This includes scholarships, teachers’ trainings, classroom donations, livelihood programs, connectivity & computerization, teachers’ tribute and digital innovations.

Gabay Guro pays homage to Philippine teachers through the Grand Gathering and launch of a new app


Gabay Guro, PLDT-Smart Foundation’s flagship advocacy program for teachers, recently celebrated its 12th anniversary with a prize-filled and all-star Grand Gathering, along with the launch of the Gabay Guro app on September 22 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

This year’s event, Gabay Guro gathered over 20,000 teachers from all over the country to experience a historical Teachers’ Tribute, which was headlined by the country’s biggest stars such as Aegis, Angeline Quinto, Christian Bautista, Eat Bulaga’s Jose and Wally, BakClash and Broadway Boys, Erik Santos, Ian Veneracion, Jaya, Jay-R, Jayson Dy, Jed Madela, Jona, K Brosas, Klarisse De Guzman, Kyla, Kuh Ledesma, Martin Nievera, Moira dela Torre, Ogie Alcasid, Piolo Pascual, Pops Fernandez, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Zephanie Dimaranan, and Gabby Concepcion and Sharon Cuneta, who were reunited by a performance on-stage after a very long time. In support for the Gabay Guro, talent managements Cornerstone Entertainment Inc. and Eat Bulaga enlisted their celebrity talents to perform for the Grand Gathering as volunteers.

In addition to all the artists that entertained the teachers during the event, Department of Education secretary Leonor Briones also graced the evening with her presence.

Many prizes were given away to the attendees, but two lucky teachers won the event’s grand prizes—Mary Jean Libot of Mother Divine Providence School won a brand new Foton Gratour van, while Maricel Bustillo of Las Pinas City National Senior High School – CAA Campus won a new house and lot.

The launch of the Innovations pillar

The highlight of this year’s celebration was the launch of Gabay Guro’s seventh pillar: Digital Innovations, which highlights the newly-launched Gabay Guro app. The Digital Innovations Pillar takes its place among the original six core pillars established in 2007: classroom donation, scholarships, teachers’ training, livelihood programs, Connectivity and Computerization, and the Teachers’ Tribute.



The new Digital Innovations Pillar of Gabay Guro aims to reinforce the digital transformation for Filipino teachers, school leaders, and stakeholders by equipping them with new modes of teaching and the latest technology that will enable them to create, grow, and evolve their craft for the benefit of their students.

Backed by this new learning pillar, Gabay Guro introduces an application for teachers that will provide e-learning content and interactive technology and ready-to-use online tools that are aligned with the DepEd and CHED curriculum. This will provide teachers with the latest and easily accessible educational resources right at their fingertips. The new Gabay Guro app will be launched before the end of the year.


“Gabay Guro continues to develop innovative programs for our teachers and our partners in nation-building,” Gabay Guro Chairperson Chaye Cabal-Revilla said. “Every year, it is our great honor to be able to give back to our teachers through a grand tribute and we always look forward to continuing this mission and empower them through Gabay Guro’s previously six and now seven core pillars of learning.”  

This coming October 24, Gabay Guro is bringing the program closer to the teachers in the Northern part of the country. A regional Teachers’ Tribute will be staged in Ilocos Norte, to bring quality entertainment and to give away a lot of prizes to the Ilocano teachers who did not make it to the Grand Gathering. It is one of Gabay Guro’s ways to show its sincerity in giving back and being inclusive to all the teachers all over the Philippines.

The new Innovations Pillar of Gabay Guro aims to reinforce the digital transformation for Filipino teachers, school leaders, and stakeholders by equipping them with new modes of teaching and the latest technology that will enable them to create, grow, and evolve their craft for the benefit of their students.

Backed by this new learning pillar, Gabay Guro introduces an exclusive application for teachers that will provide e-learning content and interactive technology and ready-to-use online tools that are aligned with the DepEd and CHED curriculum. Since its founding, Gabay Guro has built and donated 47 classrooms nationwide and provided over 1,770 scholarship grants through its 57 partner schools, which have been equipped with new computers and broadband connectivity. Of its scholars, 1,013 have graduated, with 343 finishing with honors. About 680 graduates have also passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers. 

Over the years, more than 60,000 educators have also benefitted from Gabay Guro's nine regular training programs including: Teacher’s Treasure Chest; English Proficiency Program; Personality Development; Emotional Intelligence; Teachers’ Armor; Leadership Training; IT Sustainability and Literacy; Teaching in the Digital Age; and Unleashing Creativity in Teaching. Gabay Guro also links schools to communities and industries through workshops and seminars. This helps promote an innovative mindset and unlocks opportunities for teachers, school leaders and staff.

Gabay Guro also holds Teachers’ Tribute in different provinces in the Philippines. Through the "Teacherfest,", Gabay Guro’s satellite and localized tribute celebration with teachers in key cities around the country, more teachers from remote areas are able to share in the fun and frivolity. PLDT-Smart Foundation’s Gabay Guro celebrates the Grand Gathering on Sept. 23 at SM MOA Arena





If there is one profession that I have high respect for. That is for our teachers. Teachers push you to be a better person and they  don't get enough credit for the hard work they continuously do during and after school. They have all the patience in the world and they're the most positive person I have encountered. Let's all take a moment to appreciate the teachers around us by letting them celebrate the National Teacher's Month with PLDT-Smart Gabay Guro Grand Gathering on Sept 23. 





PLDT-Smart Foundation’s education advocacy and flagship program Gabay Guro  launches its biggest tribute for Filipino teachers,The Grand Gathering  on Sept 23. the star-studded event features celebrity performances led by Megastar Sharon Cuneta, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Ogie Alcasid, Martin Nievera, Jaya, Gabby Concepcion, Randy Santiago, and Christian Bautista, among others.



In time for National Teacher’s Month, PLDT-Smart Foundation’s education advocacy and flagship program Gabay Guro is celebrating its 11th anniversary by bringing together thousands of teachers from all over the country for the much-awaited Grand Gathering 2018 on September 23, Sunday, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Over the years, Gabay Guro has teamed up with various organizations, including companies within the PLDT Group, to improve the quality of life of teachers and their families by launching livelihood programs for teachers.

The organization has also partnered with local government units to bring the "Grand Gathering" experience to the provinces through the "Teacherfest" celebration, which was recently held in Bataan, Butuan, and Bulacan, and will soon be staged in Ilocos, Cebu, and Davao.
