Robinsons introduces convenience malls concept to communities with Townville

With the bad traffic around the metro, you dont have to go as far as the city to enjoy the comfort of the shopping mall,  now there's a community mall in the neighborhood like the Robinsons Townville of  Meycauayan,  one of the Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc. chain of community malls.

Starting with the first mall in Cabanatuan in 2008, the group currently manages nine (9) malls nationwide: Cabanatuan, Meycauayan, Pulilan, BF Ruins, Davao, Laguna, Dumaguete, Imus and DasmariƱas, Cavite. One more community mall is also scheduled to open before the year ends. These malls, however, were known in the community with different names.

Today marks a milestone for the group as it formally brands its malls Robinsons Townville. “Robinsons Townville connotes a sense of belongingness, of being family-oriented, fun and friendly. It is convenient to go to. It offers goods and services that reasonably meet the expectations of households,” said Mr. Joel Delfin, AVP of Robinsons Townville.

These malls at 3,000 sqm to one hectare are anchored by Robinsons affiliates like Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Department Store, Robinsons Appliances, Handyman, Daiso Japan and South Star Drug. To complement these anchor stores, there are banks, ATMS, quick service restaurants, food kiosks, boutiques, a bookstore, a spa, a salon and an amusement center for kids as well as other full-fledged services designed to meet the needs of a growing community.

To kick-off this milestone, a carnival-themed celebration was organized to excite the community starting with Meycauayan (August 14), Cabanatuan (August 28), BF ParaƱaque (September 11) and Pulilan (September 25). An array of fun and rewarding games and activities are in place for attendees to enjoy, including special performances from local performers. Besides the three-day sale at every launch date, customers can double their points on their Robinsons Rewards Card when they purchase in any of the Robinsons stores during this period.

There's a lot more reason to choose Caltex when you gas up, you get to earn more points by showing your Robinsons Rewards Card each time you fueled up at any participating Caltex stations nationwide. You can use your points to redeem P1 discount for every one liter fuel purchase.  Every five liter gas up earns a point which means that the more customers fuel up at Caltex and shop at Robinsons, the more points for fuel and shopping savings. There are many participating establishments included such as Shiseido and Benefit, and I get to earn points when shopping for my favorite skincare and makeups.

Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), marketer of Caltex fuels and lubricants, teamed up with Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc. (RRHI), the second largest multi-format retailer in the Philippines, to create a unique offer that allows customers to quickly and continually add value to their purchases by getting a variety of fuel and shopping rewards through their RRC.

Because of this loyalty program partnership, motorists now have more reasons to choose Caltex. Customers can save more on fuel costs when they purchase Caltex with Techron plus the five benefits of maximized power, improved fuel economy, lower emission, smoother drive and reliable performance.

In addition to fuel savings, RRC members will also enjoy big discounts in their shopping and grocery purchases as points earned at participating Caltex stations can be redeemed at any of 1,180 Robinsons stores nationwide which include Robinsons Department Store, Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Selections, Robinsons Easymart, Robinsons Appliances, Handyman, True Value, AM Builders’ Depot, Toys “R” Us, Daiso Japan, Topshop, Topman, Dorothy Perkins, Miss Selfridge, Burton Menswear, Warehouse, River Island, Shana, G2000, Shiseido and Benefit.

Customers can avail of this benefit by signing up for RRC membership at any Robinsons stores for P150 only.

What will you do if John LLoyd Cruz suddenly appears from nowhere, hugs you back and surprises you with gifts? and turn your ordinary day into that one lovely afternoon? Watch the following videos, find out how John Lloyd Cruz delightfully bring that winning magical moments to people he encountered in their everyday lives.

Magic Man John Lloyd Cruz has struck again, this time in selected areas nationwide. Springing into the lives of unsuspecting people during their daily routines, Magic Crackers’ longtime endorser brought with him surprises and special prizes that transformed ordinary situations into magical moments. As part of the “Nothing Like Magic” campaign of Universal Robina Corporation’s (URC) Jack ‘n Jill Magic, John Lloyd visited Laguna, Pampanga, Cebu, Iloilo and Manila to show that magic moments can happen to anyone, anywhere and anytime, when he and Magic Crackers are around.

At the Centro Supermarket in San Pablo City, Laguna, the magic moment happened when 29-year-old Charita Tuyogan bought a pack of Magic Flakes which entitled her to pick an instant prize from a bowl at the Magic booth. Charita could not believe her eyes when she read her instant prize: “Congratulations! You win a BIG hug from John Lloyd Cruz, NOW NA!” She was even more shocked when the charming actor appeared out of nowhere and gave her and one-year-old son Jehoram Mendigorin a warm embrace. John Lloyd also gave the housewife a Magic Family Treat worth P50,000, which consists of URC products and shopping money. “Ang sarap palang magka-Magic Moment,” said Charita upon learning of her prize.

A lucky grocer at the Iloilo Supermart got the surprise of her life when, after being made to wait for a sample product, she came face-to-face with John Lloyd who personally replenished the stocks in the Magic booth. Aside from meeting the matinee idol, special education student Karen Almojallas of Lapaz, Iloilo City also received a Magic Back-To-School Package worth P50,000, which consists of a laptop and Robinsons gift checks.

At the Iloilo Airport, John Lloyd pulled a surprise on Micah Seminio of Calumpang, General Santos City as she was waiting for her flight home. The celebrity approached the unwary passenger and talked to her, acting as if they were old friends who have not seen each other for a long time. To celebrate the magic moment, the award-winning actor gifted her with a Magic Shopping Treat worth P50,000, which consists of URC products and Robinsons gift checks.

At the Clark International Airport in Pampanga, 27-year-old overseas Filipino worker Jennifer Daquigan of Sta. Maria, Pangasinan was waiting for her flight to Hong Kong when she suddenly noticed John Lloyd sitting in front. She was thrilled when the matinee idol started talking to her and was excited when the Magic Man presented her with a Magic Negosyo Starter worth P50,000 of URC products. “Napakasaya, ang sarap ng feeling” was how the lucky OFW summed up her Magic moment experience.

Angeles Public Market store owner Corazon Ocampo experienced a unique and rewarding surprise. A URC delivery guy who looked exactly like John Lloyd Cruz, came over one day not only to deliver boxes of Magic Crackers but also to give her a Magic Vacation Package worth P50,000, inclusive of airfare via Cebu Pacific, 2-night accommodation and pocket money.

At the Robinsons Supermarket in Fuente, Cebu, Jenevie Verances got excited upon knowing she will receive a freebie after purchasing Magic Flakes. Her excitement turned to tears of joy when the Magic man appeared out of nowhere to give her another gift—a Magic Domestic Vacation Package worth P50,000.

For University of Cebu students Rosa May Roa, Grace Alcovendas, Bob Burton Paglinawan, Exille Dio Golvin and Harold Hope Ariar, an ordinary trip to a photo booth turned into a magical moment when John Lloyd suddenly appeared to give them a Magic Rainy Day Shopping Spree consisting of P50,000 worth of Robinsons gift checks.

During their school’s annual pep rally, little did the students of the Technological Institute of the Philippines Manila know that simply participating in one of the games could win them such a magical moment. After a series of elimination games, Ester Policarpio, Jomabell Loscano, Sheryll Limpios, Zyren Joy Tristeza and Paula Isabel Sazon found themselves lucky to end up as game winners. As they were about to get their prizes, they saw John Lloyd Cruz walking towards their direction. The heartthrob awarded them with a Sem Starter Surprise in the form of Robinsons gift checks worth P50,000, making their victory even sweeter.

All Robinsons gift checks are valid for use in all Robinsons Retail Holdings stores such as Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Department Store, Handyman, Toys R Us, Topshop, Warehouse, River Island, and many more.

John Lloyd Cruz and Magic Crackers have a lot more tricks up their sleeve. Who knows, you might find them in your neighborhood one day with their surprises and special prizes, turning ordinary times into magic moments.

Proud father Benjie Paras is the new endorser of Handyman

BENJIE PARAS, THE ‘TOWER OF POWER’ IS THE NEW FACE OF HANDYMAN
(Star Center talks about basketball, show business and being a dad)

“Handyman has well-organized and customer-friendly aisles, making shopping easier. Their efficient and knowledgeable staff are always ready to help out in any home project anytime,” Handyman endorser BenjieParas  said.

New Handyman endorser Benjie Paras had a successful career in basketball and an exciting stint in show business.  Now, he relishes the most fulfilling role of his life- that of being a doting father to his kids- Kobe, Andre, Sam and Riley and a wonderful husband to Lyxen. Yes, Benjie Paras, the court superstar and actor is the star center of his family.

Life on court
Benjie’s humble beginnings in basketball began at the age of 11.  Since then, there was no stopping him from dominating the hard court, first playing for the UP Fighting Maroons and leading the team to their first championship in 1986.  He then became the star center for PBA’s Shell Turbo Chargers and was one of the vital factors behind his team’s victories. He received several awards including PBA's 25 Greatest Players of All-Time and was given the moniker of “Tower of Power’.
“But one cannot play basketball forever,” he mused. Thus, when he retired after 14 years with the PBA, Benjie became an actor/comedian and a very popular one at that.

Life onscreen
The shift from basketball to show business was quite unexpected, Benjie admitted, since he didn’t even know if he could act, much less make people laugh.
“The passion to improve your performance is the same with both basketball and showbiz. Whenever you play on court or are onscreen, there is the challenge that you should test yourself every time,” he said.

The do-it-yourself dad and family man
While he is a legend on and off the basketball court, he is first and foremost a father. “I am strict with my kids but I always treat them with respect and kindness and I let them decide what they want to do or to be.” But one thing is clear —it has always been “sports and outdoor activities over computer games and gadgets.”  It is a non-negotiable rule in the Paras household. The efforts paid off. Andre, 18 and Kobe, 16 are becoming fast rising basketball stars in their own right. Andre was a highly-recruited high school prospect out of La Salle Greenhills before deciding to join the UP Fighting Maroons, his dad’s alma mater and the UAAP team that Handyman has been supporting for the last three years.  Kobe, on the other hand, is a La Salle Greenhills player and was part of the Philippine team on the FIBA Asia Under-18 Championship.

The proud father is also a do-it-yourself dad.  He loves to stay home and tinker on what can be fixed and improved. “I wish I could do a lot but I have such a busy schedule.  It always gives me joy to do simple things for the family like installing the shower or the light, fixing the heater and setting up a bidet,” he said.  “I have gadgets and tools that come in handy when I need to repair things around the house. And I got them from Handyman.”

Given the time and opportunity, Benjie would like to build things from scratch  such as making chairs, tables, cabinets, TV racks  and other household furniture - a dream project he has been setting his heart on. That is why Handyman’s home improvement and tools sections are his favorite places to get lost in. “The store’s extensive product lines are of superior quality and are reasonably priced. One can find great Father’s Day gifts for do-it-yourself dads like me,” he smiled, hinting.

Handyman has made shopping more convenient, evolving into a one-stop-shop where anyone can find their hardware, maintenance, home repair and improvement needs that can help customers improve their spaces with ease and convenience. “Handyman also has well-organized and customer-friendly aisles, making shopping easier. Their efficient and knowledgeable staff are always ready to help out in any home project anytime.  Furthermore, Handyman stores are conveniently located and accessible for both professional builders and for people like me, who are enthusiasts about recreational home improvement projects,” he said.

Benjie should know. He has been there and done that.
