Foodtripping at the Nissin Souper Meal Noodles event

What is it about noodles that I love, aside from the fact that ramen is my comfort food. I like my egg noodles or soba in soup garnished with hardboiled egg, or pork asado , grilled shrimp, smoked fish, squid balls , garlic chips, or chicharon with calamansi. You can customize the toppings if you want, or you can eat it as it is. They are easy to prepare and you can have it any time of the day.  Like right now, I am eating my favorite Hot & Spicy Souper Meal with hardboiled egg and carrots!.Try it!

Now for the trivia, dont you know that Mr. Momofuku Ando introduced the Instant Nissin ramen way back in 1971, he was on his way to USA that he observed supermarket managers breaking chicken ramen,  put them in a cup and pour hot water and eat it with a fork. It was then that the cup noodles was invented.

Nissin-Universal Robina Corporation (NURC) launched its latest offering, Nissin Souper Meal, through its Japanese-themed noodle festival, Nissin Souper Food Trip. The whole place was transformed into a Japanese zen like setting complete with cherry blossoms, lantern festival, torii and of course the japanice wearing kimono crews to serve you.

The event was hosted by Joyce Pring in her kimono suit and graced by Robinsons executives and media last Nov 13 at Robinsons Place Ermita, with four stalls serving as food alley inside the japanese zen like setting  for Nissins souper food trip. The four Nissin variants are Hot & Spicy, Garlic Pork Tonkatsu, Seafood and Beef Brisket.

We got to taste each variant at the food alley, my favorite Hot & Spicy has that intense spiciness to it which I love, the noodles are chewy and tasty, which is better with egg if you prepare it at home,  the second favorite souper meal is the Garlic Pork Tonkatsu with its creamy-like pork broth, third is seafood and beef brisket. The best thing is that a cup noodle costs only php29!

The highlight of the event is the larger-than-life Nissin Souper Meal bowl installation that contained numerous bowls of the Nissin Souper Meal variants—Seafood, Beef Brisket, Hot & Spicy, and Garlic Pork Tonkotsu. We all made a  wild guess at how many cup noodles are inside the giant cup noodles. The numbers that I sent  made me to the top 9 contestants together with the lucky co-bloggers. After elimination and wild guessing our group won the 3k Robinsons gift certificates.

“Nissin Souper Meal is meant to cater to the needs of the modern and active who, despite their busy schedule, still consider eating quality, filling and great-tasting food,” said NURC Business Unit General Manager Marcia Gokongwei.

Nissin Souper Meal’s large serving of noodles and condiments comes in four delicious flavors - Seafood (the best-selling flavor among all instant cup and bowl noodle brands), Beef Brisket (rich Chinese-inspired beef broth), Hot & Spicy (chicken and mushroom soup with an intense level of spiciness), and Garlic Pork Tonkotsu (Nissin’s first-ever pork-based variant in a light, creamy pork soup with a hint of garlic). With Nissin being the leading instant cup noodle brand in the country, Nissin Souper Meal delivers superior convenience and ease in preparation as well.
