PhilCare introduces Mindscapes, a new mental health service

Its a frightening time indeed, the question is how long this will last, or how bad things might get take a toll with our mental health. Its all up to us on how to cope with stress, worry and anxiety.

Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, there is already a growing need for easy access to affordable mental healthcare for those suffering from stress, anxiety, and undiagnosed or untreated mental health conditions.


In fact, per 2017 data, the World Health Organization estimates that six million Filipinos are living with depression and anxiety. That number may have grown as the pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns forced people to stay indoors for months.


Meanwhile, nine out of ten Filipinos said they had a poorer state of mental health during the first lockdowns in 2020, based on the PhilCare Community Quarantine Wellness Index. This perhaps rings truer, with rising COVID-19 cases over a year into the pandemic. 

Interestingly, nine out of ten also said they were afraid of a “second wave” of infections at the time the study was conducted.


To help address this growing concern among Filipinos, PhilCare introduces Mindscapes, a new mental health service, which was launched to give customizable and scalable programs to individuals and companies that wish to support their employees through their mental wellness journey. 


Derived from the phrase "mental landscape," which focuses on all aspects of a person’s mind and its capabilities, Mindscapes seeks to deliver the best care possible for those with mental health concerns to achieve overall well-being.


Using a tech-enabled platform, Mindscapes provides clients with convenient and secure access to mental wellness benefits to make sure that they feel safe when they seek help. 


With Mindscapes, individuals can avail of affordable prepaid health plan products, specifically through MindCare and MindCare PLUS. Both provide for counseling sessions or telemed sessions with a counselor and a psychiatrist, if necessary. 


MindCare services can be accessed using the HeyPhil app, while MindCare PLUS, which offers video consultations, is accessible via PhilCare’s Member Gateway at

Aside from services for individuals, Mindscapes caters to corporate clients, offering a wide array of services that help identify and address mental health challenges in the workplace. Companies can opt to include coverage for  in-app consultations and counseling for their employees, have access to mental health policy development assistance, program monitoring, webinars, and educational materials and resources. Mindscapes also provides testing services for companies to determine employees’ needs through an assessment of their psychological state.


Mindscapes is the brainchild of Jaeger L. Tanco, a known figure in the healthcare and financial services sector. As one of Mindscapes’ main proponents, he sees it as a project that can help many Filipinos to have easy access to affordable mental health services, especially with such concerns spiking during the pandemic-induced lockdowns.


“Throughout my years in business, we have met colleagues and partners who have struggled from stress, anxiety, and other mental health problems. Insight Music releases The Perfect Sleep by DreamWell

Record label Insight Music, alarmed by the rapidly increasing cases of sleeplessness among this country’s adult population, seeks to help insomnia-afflicted Filipinos fall into restful slumber by releasing The Perfect Sleep, a groundbreaking album that effectively induces sleep.

Jollibee encourages people to value and appreciate the time with family

"To a child, "love" is spelled time."

Since, Im not living with my kids anymore, I always set aside quality time, visiting them twice or thrice a month. Just because, I dont want to compromise our health together, I always take extra precautions traveling, with the onset of coronavirus, this part of everyday life has become risky for everyone in the family. What I do , if I am not near them is I call, text and remind them to take their vitamins everyday, go out when necessary and wear a mask and face shield. 

Im praying that this pandemic would be over soon, so that I get to visit my loved ones at any given time.

In these difficult times, the one thing that matters most is how you spend it with your loved ones. In my case, since Im not living with my kids anymore, I always set aside time for them 
During these challenging times brought about by the pandemic, there’s one important thing that all of us can be grateful for—that is the opportunity to spend more time with our families. Huawei announces its business results for the first quarter of 2021

Huawei announced its business results for the first quarter of 2021 today, which were in line with forecast.

In Q1, Huawei generated CNY152.2 billion in revenue, a 16.5% decrease year-on-year. Its network business maintained steady growth, while consumer business revenue declined, in part as a result of selling the Honor smart device brand in November 2020. Huawei's net profit margin was up 3.8 percentage points[1] year-on-year at 11.1% – the result of the company's ongoing efforts to improve quality of operations and management efficiency, as well as a patent royalty income of US$600 million.

"2021 will be another challenging year for us, but it's also the year that our future development strategy will begin to take shape," said Eric Xu, Huawei's Rotating Chairman. "We thank our customers and partners for their ongoing trust. No matter what challenges come our way, we will continue to maintain our business resilience. Not just to survive, but do so sustainably. As always, we will remain focused on the needs of our customers and keep delivering practical business value."
