Skin Magical COO and Founder Ghie Pangilinan wins big in 2019

2019 is indeed a fruitful year for Skin Magical CEO Ghie Pangilinan whose hard work and perseverance to carve a niche in the beauty and skin care industry have been recognized by various award-giving bodies. Her nonstop innovation to make the Skin Magical brand a top choice among Filipino consumers has made Ghie truly deserving of all the accolades.

Last November 19, Ghie bagged the Influencer of The Year award at the Leaders Asia Awards held at the Rizal Ballroom of Makati Shangri-La Hotel. The lady entrepreneur also walked away with the trophy for Start-up Company of the Year for Skin Magical.

This year’s Most Influential Female CEO in the Field of Cosmetics and Skin Care trophy was handed to her during the 18th Annual Gawad Amerika Awards night in Los Angeles, California.

Ghie felt doubly happy when swamped with messages of congratulations from family and friends after being named the Most Influential Entrepreneur of the Year at the 14th Gawad Pilipino Awards Night. The awarding ceremonies was held last December 5 at the Tanghalang Pasigueno inside the Pasig City Hall Complex.

Also included in the awards list are Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso, Ali Sotto, Jessica Soho, Atom Araullo, Mike Enriquez, Malou Mangahas, Gretchen Ho, Joyce Ruelos and Arlene Navarro.

Organized by Dr. Danilo Mangahas and EuroTV, the Gawad Pilipino Award is an annual event that aims to recognize the excellence of individuals, organizations and companies from the academe, entertainment, public service, business and NGOs through their passion and work ethics that greatly affect the Philippine culture, traditions and society for humane innovations.

Furthermore, Ghie was also given the Outstanding Contribution in Micro-Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Motivator 2019 by the Philippine Honorable Queens (PHQ Events) last December 15 at Crimson Hotel in Alabang Muntinlupa City. A video tribute called as “The Butterfly Sisters” was also presented to honor her struggles and success with her sisters Joyce Ruelos (who was also awarded tht evening) and Ruffa Gel Garrovillas (who has passed on in 2018).

PHQ Events appoints nominating bodies from all over the country to select Finalist for both Honorable Queens and Finest Woman.

“The awards and nominations I’ve received with Skin Magical served as great reminders for all the hard work and persistence that I and my husband Jerry have done to be successful in beauty and skin care business.
"Each award makes us even more passionate in creating, innovating and sharing skin care products that are effective and safe for all types of skin,” Ghie said.

Ghie shared how she and Jerry strove to become successful and learn new things about running a business. Her husband was a still working as a seaman when Ghie, who was then an online seller of various products, took the advice of her friend to create her own brand. With only an initial capital of P7,000, Ghie was able to start selling through online her own skin care brand, called Skin Magical, with rejuvenating papaya soap, lotion and toner as introductory products. Eventually, it became popular that her husband stopped working and came home permanently to help her in the operation and distribution of the products. They also expanded the business by offering not just papaya soaps.

Many of their loyal customers became Skin Magical distributors “because the products worked on them,” said Ghie who also attributed the success of their business to the loyalty of their employers, resellers and customers.

Until this day, Ghie never tires to share a tip or two about entrepreneurial skills to Pinoys who also wish to succeed in their business through mentoring sessions with them in Go Negosyo. Soon, Ghie will be releasing a book to be published by ABS-CBN Books.

Nob Hill in Tagaytay Highlands: A Blend of Modernity and Nature

Tagaytay Highlands’ Nob Hill, a contemporary-themed community infused with nature-friendly living amenities, provides homeowners with a lush and serene haven without losing access to the convenient lifestyle the city has to offer.

Set against nature’s backdrop with an elevation of 250 to 256 meters above sea level, Nob Hill offers stunning views of the mystical Mt. Makiling and Mt. Maculot—and the rest of the Highlands. The elevation likewise enables Nob Hill residents to savor the cool mountain air in their cozy homes, thus providing homeowners a quick respite from the metro’s busy and hectic life.

The tastefully designed homes of Nob Hill are spread across 7.7 hectares of land. The 127 lots, with sizes ranging from 300 to 634 square meters, offer expansive spaces to homeowners who seek refuge from the congestion of the metro. Meticulously designed, the minimalist and geometric lines evoke feelings of relaxation, while the metal and wood finishes exude sophistication and comfort.

Homeowners in this exclusive enclave will enjoy proximity to the Driving Range, Pick n’ Pay, and the Tagaytay Midlands Golf Club. Easy access to Nobhill is via Suplang gate, through the SLEX Batino exit.

Valuing environmental sustainability, Nob Hill boasts of an abundance of trees—providing a refreshing and clean atmosphere for the whole community. The entire community also has circuit pathways and fitness stations for jogging, running, and biking with lush greenery as a backdrop. A gazebo and central park complete the nature-centric facilities of the community.

Other features in this posh and peaceful community include linear parks along the main road, trellises, a palm court, children’s sand play area, atriums, and pocket gardens.

Harmonizing modern living in a natural setting, Nob Hill also invests on the safety, security and convenience of the homeowners. This exclusive community is also equipped with a 24-hour security, underground utilities, ample water supply, 100% emergency power supply, in-house landscaping and full housekeeping services, and 24-hour emergency medical and fire-fighting teams.

Nob Hill homeowners also get to enjoy world-class amenities of the Country Club such as the country’s first and only Swiss-engineered cable car and funicular train system, sports amenities, entertainment, and recreational amenities, among others.

Newly opened restaurants also provide gastronomic experience for Tagaytay Highlands members, guests, and homeowners.

A sanctuary that’s easy to become a favorite weekend haven, Nob Hill is a place worth coming home to the Highlands.

Jollibee surprises holiday commuters with free Chickenjoy during their ride home!

Being away from loved ones regularly can be difficult, which is why the holidays have become such an important season to reunite families. But these days, traveling back home to provinces and far-flung areas can be extra tiresome with the heavy traffic, long commuting lines, and hectic holiday rush. This can take a toll on Filipinos mentally and emotionally, especially when all they’re thinking about is going home to celebrate the most joyful time of the year with the most important people in their lives.

This Christmas, Jollibee helps Filipinos go home to their families with a little more love—and a lot of joy. Holiday commuters in select provincial bus routes received a special surprise from Jollibee on their way home. Hundreds of free Chickenjoy buckets and Jollibee gift certificates were distributed to the lucky commuters, perfect for sharing with the families that eagerly awaited them at home.

Passengers were all smiles, some even in tears! “Ito po, pagsasalubong namin sa mga apo,” one of them said, holding on to the Chickenjoy bucket in gratitude. Another expressed joy being able to see the Jollibee mascot live: “Masaya po talaga na nakita namin sa personal si Jollibee. Nagyon lang po namin nakita si Jollibee.”

Watch the heartwarming event on video here:

“We wanted to make the ride home of the hardworking Filipinos extra special with a little surprise from Jollibee, especially with all the Christmas rush and anticipation to get home to spend time with their families,” Jollibee Philippines’ Marketing AVP for Bestsellers Category Cathleen Capati said. “As a family-centric brand, we do believe that being with family amid busy schedules and other separation factors is the most precious and meaningful way to spend the festive holidays—along with everyone’s favorite Chickenjoy!”

What to do in Hongkong: First Day with or without protesta

Dapat pa Taiwan kami ngayon December dahil malamig,  and dahil talagang gusto namin balikan ang Taiwan.

So eto ang convo namin ng first week of November =)

Me:  Be ok lang ba na sa Hongkong ako mag Christmas?
Be :  Sino kasama mo?
Be:   ____________________________
Me:  Ano ok lang ba sayo?
Be:   Letche ka isama mo na ako. Dami mo kaartehan. (gigil)
Me:  Talaga? Cgeeee yehey!!

Yehey!! kse di na ako gagastos pag sya kse kasama ko mas lalong okay. Hahaha. Tsaka mas masaya syempre kse kasama sya. Naks hahaha.

Nag booked kami ng Cathay Pacific, December 20, dahil nga nagkakagulo sa HK since August pa puro PLAN B yung itinerary na ginawa ko, pag sumablay ang PLAN A. Sabi namin bahala na basta importante dun kami mag Christmas together.

yung fresh kaming dumating, ganda ko dito ah , anong phone to? hahaha

FIRST DAY , sana naalala ko pa to ng as vivid as I can remember hahaha.

Yung flight namin is 5AM. So 130AM, nag Grab na kami.

Mag web check in na kayo before your flight para iwas pagod at pila sa check in.

So natulog muna kami and nagising ng 1230PM.

So yung first day namin is nag late lunch sa Cafe de Coral, naglakad, yes grabe layo ng nilakad namin going to Mongkok and nagpunta din ng Ladies Market na pagkatapos eh nag dinner eventually sa KFC along Mongkok.

Naghanap kami ng toys sa Ladies Market , parang may nabili kse kami before dito , 6 years ago, so malamang wala na diba? hahaha. So nilakad ule namin pabalik sa hotel jusko naka 23K steps ako.

 2nd Day to be continued...

Issy & Co: Cruelty-Free MakeUp That's Also Vegan

I am an advocate for anything gluten-free, vegan and cruelty-free makeup, just because I have sensitive skin that would easily flare up for too much alcohol and or fragrances found in makeup or skincare.

I've tried some of the high end cruelty-free and vegan make up brands before. I do until today. I love how it made my skin dewy, glowing and pimple-free. I am still checking out on our local products that would fit my skin.

I just learned recently that Issy & Co. is cruelty-free and vegan-friendly makeup brand that do not test their cosmetics on animals or use animal products. They only use natural ingredients that are good for you and the earth. Plus, they are  affordable that you can have all the tints you want.

An emerging make-up and self-care brand in the Philippines is currently making waves due to its promise of quality yet affordable and socially relevant, wearable products that help young Filipinos achieve their beauty goals effortlessly.

Issy & Co. first resonated with the “woke” Filennials or Filipino Millennials with its claim of manufacturing make-up products that are proudly vegan, cruelty free, paraben free, and gluten free; and has now captured the imagination of the beauty-conscious consumers looking for an affordable yet quality make-up brand.

Ms. Jasmine Ang, President of Issy & Co. said, “When we began Issy & Co. last month, we were very pleased to introduce a product that the market embraced. This continuing success, and the support of the Filipinos has made us more daring, and more confident to introduce an ever-evolving line of products that will remain true to who we are. We made sure that Issy & Co self-care products adhere to highest quality standards and are in fact dermatologically tested and produced in Taiwan in a GMP and ISO certified manufacturing lab.”

Staying true to its promise of “beauty made easy,” many satisfied customers embraced Issy & Co. products for its affordability, highly pigmented formulation and ease of application.

In additon to the brand’s expanding branding efforts,  Alex Gonzaga, one of the country’s top social media personalities, is now joining the Issy & Co. family as its brand ambassador.

“People know me as a no frills kind of girl. I am not one to take hours to put on make-up. But as a celebrity, I have to make sure that I always look my best 24/7 and thanks to Issy & Co., my beauty routine can be made easy,” said Alex Gonzaga on her Press Launch speech.

Issy & Co. products are available in Shopee, Lazada and Beauty Manila PH

Look back at all the Jolly Hotdog “todo sarap” ads from the year!

Whether you’re the over-the-top one in your barkada or another friend is, you can always be sure of one thing: Jollibee’s Cheesy Classic Jolly Hotdog can match you or your friends’ “todoness” with an abundance of extra cheesy dressing, ketchup, and a generous sprinkling of grated cheese on top of an extra meaty sausage.

The “todo” or all-out nature of Jolly Hotdog is exemplified in all its online commercials this year, where there’s always someone who can turn an ordinary activity into an extraordinary one, going over-the-top compared to everyone else. Here’s a look back at these wacky videos that have made fans like, laugh, and share on social media:

The Todo Drama Jolly Hotdog commercial, the first one of 2019 starring popular local actor Joshua Garcia, explores the namesake concept of going all out in dramatic acting. Garcia emotes heavily in front of his friends, who seem to have eaten their Jolly Hotdog sandwiches without him.

The Todo Clingy ad, the second Joshua Garcia commercial, reverses the roles—this time, it’s his friends who are extra dramatic and clingy with him. In the end, they all go for something that matches their “todoness”—the Jolly Hotdog!

The short Todo Wall Climbing video shows a climber struggling to move up, only to see someone else traversing the wall vertically and horizontally with minimal effort.

These ads should make you hungry for a snack right now—and there’s no better thing to have than that Cheesy Classic Jolly Hotdog from your nearest Jollibee!  Indulge and get the Jolly Hotdog for dine-in, take-out, delivery, and drive-thru in all Jollibee stores nationwide for only PHP 50.00!
