New UNIQLO and JW ANDERSON Fall/Winter 2019 Collection

I was just as excited as everyone else's when UNIQLO partners with JW Anderson for the Fall/Winter 2019 Collection. Just because I have every reason to wear their winter collection for my upcoming travels. =) I love the whole collaboration featuring the Great British Outdoors. Im in love with the plaid and the wrap-around skirts. I cant wait to have an #ootd wearing the plaids and the bubble jackets too. Plus, the backpack tote is sooo cute with its reversible style.

UNIQLO, the Japanese global apparel retailer, announces the launch of the UNIQLO and JW ANDERSON Fall/Winter 2019 collection. A fourth collaboration line with the London-based JW ANDERSON brand, the theme for this season’s collection is the Great British Outdoors. Drawing inspiration from the town of St. Ives in Cornwall, England (which is known for its seamless blend of art and nature), this new LifeWear offering fuses traditional British elements with the modern designs of JW ANDERSON.

“Like all the seasons I’ve done with UNIQLO, it’s always interesting to see the collection evolve through meetings with the teams and see it become this amalgamation of LifeWear and JW Anderson. I liked this idea of pops of color to make the heritage British patterns and colors feel a bit more modern. Contrasting pops of color and tartan are very present,” Jonathan Anderson said about the launch of the new collection.

A modern update to classic British patterns
Inspired from his childhood memories, traditional British patterns such as tartans and warm Nordic designs are the main patterns for outerwear, skirts, innerwear, and accessories. Patterns with a classic feel are adorned with borderlines and fringes to emulate the playful character of the JW ANDERSON brand.

Reversible designs offer a twist with pop accent colors
The fourth season of this collaboration again includes the reversible items that have become a collaboration standard. New this season are down jackets and coats with splashes of vivid yellows and greens over an earthy base. Down jackets for both men and women feature neutral and classic tones on the outside, with contrasting colors on the inside, which are some of Jonathan’s favorite items.

Fusion of UNIQLO’s functionality and JW ANDERSON’s innovative design
HEATTECH Warm Easy Pants are lined with HEATTECH fleece, with exceedingly practical features including a webbing belt that can be easily adjusted with one hand and side pockets accented with colorful bungee cords. Women’s AIRism leggings and half-zip tees prevent stuffiness and maintain comfort even in winter, with striking triple color borderline designs that give edgy accents to traditional collection items.

Five reasons why OFWs should invest in BRIA Homes

We have always known that Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) tirelessly toil in other countries in order to give their families a better life, overcoming loneliness and the pain of separation so they can fulfill their loved ones’ most cherished dreams. One of these is to buy a nice and comfortable home for them and possibly invest in other properties that would help provide a stable source of income should they decide to come home for good.

It is a vision that BRIA Homes, the fastest-growing mass housing developer in the Philippines, happily shares with all Filipinos. But for hardworking OFWs, in particular, BRIA cites five good reasons why a BRIA home is the wisest investment they could ever make for their families:

1. Only BRIA Homes has a winning formula: Affordability (Mura) + Superior Quality (Dekalidad) = a Beautiful BRIA Home for Every Filipino. Filipinos can finally buy their own superior-quality home at rates they can easily afford. OFWs can, in fact, aspire to invest in more units for their children who will someday have their own families

2. BRIA Homes acknowledges the dearth of mass housing developments in the country, and has resolved to address this through the aforementioned winning formula that combines affordability and high quality. Now, ordinary Filipinos can afford comfortable, well-designed homes for as low as Php 1,897 per month.

3. All BRIA Homes are in safe, secure, and family-friendly communities. Families’ safety and security are ensured by guarded entrances and exits, CCTVs, and perimeter fences. BRIA also features facilities such basketball courts for a healthy, active lifestyle and eco-friendly spaces where residents can relax and forge friendly ties.

4. BRIA Homes understands that Filipino individuals and families have their own preferences based on their needs. Thus, BRIA communities feature a variety of house and lot packages and condominium types in different sizes and come with well-laid-out living spaces.

5. BRIA communities are located in progressive towns and cities in the Philippines. Aware that Filipinos value the conveniences of a good location, BRIA Homes offers residences that are close to key destinations such as schools, churches, hospitals, retail establishments, public modes of transportation, and major roads and highways.

True to its vision of providing homes to all Filipinos, BRIA Homes caps all these with flexible payment schemes like bank financing and Pag-IBIG housing loans—ideal for OFWs and other Filipino workers who have multiple financial obligations to meet.

BRIA Homes is a subsidiary of GOLDEN BRIA Holdings, Inc., considered the third largest real estate company in terms of market capitalization valued at more than P200B. The fastest-growing mass housing developer in the Philippines, BRIA Homes is primed to bring affordable house-and-lot packages and condominium units closer to ordinary Filipino families. This is the goal that drives every single employee in the company, for which the ultimate fulfillment is seeing a client happily moving into Bria’s homes.

TPB mounts biggest international travel trade event in the Philippines for 2019

The Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, the marketing and promotions arm of the Department of Tourism (DOT), is set to boost tourism in the Philippines as it simultaneously mounts the Philippine Travel Exchange (PHITEX) and MICE Buyers Invitational (MICECONnect) 2019 on October 20 to 27 to promote the Philippines as a prime tourist destination for both leisure and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibits/Events).

Now on its 18th year, PHITEX is considered to be the biggest travel trade event in the country, with close to 200 sellers and 200 buyers participating. The main highlight of the event is the one and a half day business-to-business (B2B) session between foreign buyers and local sellers to encourage tourism-related discourse among the participants, and open doors for business opportunities.

“PHITEX is mounted annually as a support for stakeholders in the travel trade industry,” says TPB COO Marie Venus Tan. “Instead of working as individual operators and sellers, we provide a platform for them to connect to hundreds of buyers from all over the world in one venue, which saves them precious time and money. The event also gives buyers a more comprehensive view of the different destinations and packages that they can sell to consumers, either as individual or bundled tours.”

Participants also took part in the PHITEX educational seminar where industry leaders discussed new trends in tourism marketing as well as marketing strategies in mature and emerging markets while keeping the theme of “Philippine Tourism: Trailblazing Responsible Travel and Inclusive Growth,” in mind.

Giving their insights were Thomas Graham, Co-Founder of Make A Difference (MAD) Travel, Carlos Mori Rodriguez, the Chief Innovation Officer of EON The Stakeholder Relations Group, and Nelly Nuezca Dillera, CESO III, the Deputy Executive Director of the Philippine Trade Training Center - Global MSME Academy, who ended the seminar on how DTI is building capabilities for halal development and certification."

Meanwhile, MICECONnect 2019, aims to accelerate the Philippine MICE industry by gathering MICE suppliers to showcase the country as a premium destination for international events and conferences.

Happening simultaneously with PHITEX, MICECONnect 2019 is the continuation of a two-year program as a comprehensive educational seminar for local MICE stakeholders to learn new and effective global trends, approaches, and methods. This year’s focus is conducting business networking opportunities to further develop the country’s MICE industry.

MICECONnect 2019 likewise features B2B sessions for Philippine and foreign MICE buyers, and include a hotel and MICE venue inspection. Moreover, MICECONnect delegates will be treated to post-event tours to highlight some of the country's premier MICE destinations including Iloilo City, Bacolod, Davao, Boracay, Cebu, Bohol, Palawan, Tagaytay, Manila and Batangas.

More importantly, both PHITEX and MICECONnect 2019 enable TPB to support and raise awareness on sustainable community-based tourism. Apart from promoting what the Philippines can offer, TPB also advocates for the protection of natural assets and expanding the benefits of tourism to communities that are directly and indirectly affected by the industry, consequently helping DOT towards achieving its goals for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

CLEAR reveals that social anxiety affects almost two thirds (57%) of young people

A study commissioned by CLEAR reveals that social anxiety affects almost two thirds (57%) of young people, with more than two thirds (67%) feeling it is common amongst their peers.

The main cause is the immense pressure to succeed in today’s always-on world, with 67% feeling pressure to perform; social media is heightening the issue, with 1 in 2 young people worrying about being judged on social media (49%).

CLEAR, in partnership with the Resilience Research Centre (RRC), has developed the CLEAR Resilience Bootcamp to equip young people with the tools and resources they need to overcome social anxiety by building resilience.

In honor of World Mental Health Day, CLEAR haircare commits to boosting the resilience of young people in response to rising levels of social anxiety caused by the pressures of our always-on and competitive world. Studies show that when young people are more resilient, they are able to overcome social anxiety and unlock their full potential.

Therefore, to equip young people with the tools to overcome social anxiety, the brand has developed, in partnership with the Resilience Research Centre (RRC), the CLEAR Resilience Bootcamp - a comprehensive training programme to power up resilience in young people.

CLEAR believes that everyone should be able to perform at their best. However, social anxiety, defined as the ‘fear of being judged’, can be a barrier to young people doing this. A new study by CLEAR reveals that almost two thirds (57%) of young people suffer from social anxiety. A surprising 2 in 3 feel pressure to perform, either at school or more generally in society, fuelling a lack of confidence and self-doubt. Social media is heightening the issue, with 1 in 2 young people worrying about being judged on social media.

Over half (52%) of young people feel that social anxiety is hard to overcome. Whilst there are tools which boost resilience, young people do not understand how to access the resources available to them. The CLEAR Resilience Bootcamp will deliver a resilience-building programme via both in-person and online trainings expertly developed for young people, equipping them with the tools and resources they need to be more resilient.

Resilience amid rising social anxiety
Resilience is our ability to cope with the challenges and pressures felt by young people today; be it at school or in social groups. For more than half (52%), resilience could be a key resource for overcoming social anxiety. Resilience comprises two core components. Firstly, how rugged an individual is – their ability to handle external stress factors that can lead to social anxiety, such as starting university or peer pressure. Secondly, how resourced they are by their friends, family, teachers, peers and communities. Currently, only one in two young people consider themselves resilient (52%), but as many as 74% want to know how they can become more resilient to the societal factors which cause social anxiety.

Tri Tran-Tue, Vice President of CLEAR at Unilever said: “Research shows that more than 1 in 3 young people struggle to find resources they can turn to for help with social anxiety. We’re here to change that. CLEAR's new initiative is designed to take action against the growing issue of social anxiety in young people, clearing them of anxieties and self-doubt.”

CLEAR recently announced the first phase of its resilience-building programme – the CLEAR Resilience Bootcamp online platform, developed with experts from the RRC to help young people build resilience and overcome of social anxiety. Complete with scientifically validated diagnostic tools, videos from role models and educational articles, the digital platform will be free and accessible to all and continuously built on and enhanced to better cater to the needs of young people.

The online programme starts with two diagnostics - the first important step in creating positive change. One assesses levels of social anxiety via the measurement of boldness, and the other evaluates levels of resilience. Once given their scores, users are taken through to a homepage where they can choose from a variety of lessons to help build their resilience; from “Building Positive Relationships” to “Managing Stressful Situations” – each containing articles and videos.

The CLEAR Resilience Bootcamp online platform is step one in CLEAR’s wider commitment to helping young people overcome social anxiety. Looking ahead, CLEAR will:

1.   Conduct further, in-depth research into the causes of social anxiety amongst young people across the world.
2.   Offer comprehensive, scientifically validated solutions to help people build resilience that will be free and accessible to all.
3.  Host free in-person training sessions with young people in need of resilience, based on a curriculum developed with the RRC and led by experts in the space.

For more information on CLEAR’s commitment to helping young people build resilience and prevent social anxiety, visit https://www.clearhaircare.com/global/about/our-purpose.html.

The survey was carried out with young people aged 16-29 years old across three markets: Brazil, China and the UK. There was a total of 3,000 respondents.
