Kathryn joins love team partner Daniel Padilla as part of the Pepsi family
If there is one love team that I have been following since day one. Its #kathniel..I love how they interact with their fans and have been following them on social media. That's why I was just as excited as everyone else's when I got an invite to attend to Kathryn's launch as one of Pepsi endorsers. This was by far the happiest launch that I have been to.
“Handa na akong #SundinAngPuso ko”, said actress and box office queen Kathryn Bernardo.
Unveiled as the newest endorser of Pepsi Philippines, Kathryn joined her longtime love team partner, Daniel Padilla, among others, as part of the Pepsi family.
“Something that Daniel and I share is the belief that we should follow our hearts and do the things we love. Just go for it 100%! That’s why this year, I really told myself I’m going to go all-in,” she said. “I’m thrilled to join Daniel in encouraging people to do the same, as part of the Pepsi family,” Kathryn shared, as she was introduced at the recent Pepsi Taste Challenge held at TriNoma mall.
The event also featured different Pepsi influencers and endorsers like Daniel Padilla, Mimiyuuuh, JinHo Bae, Pamela Swing, Alyssa Valdez, Kiefer Ravena, and Ricci Rivero. Various fun and interactive activities such as Pepsi-oke, a live vlogging challenge, and a digital roulette and extraordinary performances from inspiring local artists including Matthaios, Autotelic, and SB19 entertained the audience.
The Pepsi Taste Challenge celebrates Filipinos’ love for cola and dares them to challenge their preconceptions through a taste test in different cities around the Philippines, to find out whether people prefer the refreshing bold taste of Pepsi vs another cola brand. The event will also take place in Cebu and in Davao - two of the most bustling areas in the country.
“Kathryn embodies a refreshing personality which Pepsi represents,'' said Gutzee Segura, Marketing Manager of Pepsi Philippines. “Like Pepsi, she has always been a crowd favorite. As a matter of fact, during our Pepsi Taste Challenge held in different countries around the world such as UK, France, Italy, and Australia, among others, most of the people picked Pepsi over other cola brands.”
“Apart from these though, Kathryn’s amazing dedication to her craft serves as an inspiration to countless fans”, Gutzee shared. “With her passion and her knack for following her heart, she really personifies what Pepsi stands for,” she added.
#SundinAngPuso and put your cola taste to a test, with live performances from local artists at the upcoming Pepsi Taste Test Challenge events: SM Seaside Cebu on February 22, 2020 and SM Lanang Premiere Davao on March 7, 2020.

“Teen Royalties” Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla reunite for an action-packed project PayMaya's "BalikBayad" campaign
After more than a year of not being seen together on-screen, “Teen Royalties” Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla reunite for an action-packed project that sees them sharing the many perks and rewards of going cashless through PayMaya’s “BalikBayad” campaign.
Serving as a follow-up to PayMaya’s widely successful “Don’t Pay Cash. PayMaya!” campaign last year which gave birth to a catchy video and jingle set to the tune of the hit ‘90’s Eraserheads song “Ligaya,” the “BalikBayad” campaign sees Kathryn and Daniel in action-packed scenes teaming up to beat a common foe–cash.
Set as a typical ‘90’s action movie complete with guns, goons, and even the penultimate “Pinoy Kontrabida” in the form of Rez Cortez, the campaign video features the two young celebrities using the powers of PayMaya to tackle everyday transactions that are typically paid with cash, such as grocery shopping, paying bills, buying load, and online shopping, among many others.
Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla were officially unveiled as the latest brand ambassadors for PayMaya’s “BalikBayad” campaign, which encourages Filipinos to experience the most rewarding mobile wallet app in the country today which gives them cashback and other perks for their cashless transactions via PayMaya.
“We’re very excited to have KathNiel representing the ‘BalikBayad’ campaign, because just as these two big celebrity icons have made a comeback for PayMaya this year, our users can also expect something to come back–in the form of cashback–every time they use PayMaya instead of cash,” said Mark Jason Dee, Head of Growth and Marketing of PayMaya.
“PayMaya is a young and fun brand and we’re definitely lucky to have collaborated with Kathryn and Daniel in this campaign, because they represent the exciting and energetic lifestyles of most of our users,” Dee added.
Filipinos can get in on the most rewarding mobile wallet experience by downloading the PayMaya app on their iOS or Android devices and using the code PAYMAYAKATHNIEL upon signing up to get an instant reward, apart from the many other cashback and discount perks they can get by being a PayMaya user.
In February alone, PayMaya users can get as much as P6,000 in cashback when they participate in the mobile wallet’s various promos for bills payment, buying load, paying for goods and services via QR, online shopping, and sending money, among many others.
PayMaya has also expanded the list of merchants and establishments under its PayMaya Preferred program, which gives additional cashback to users who scan to pay with PayMaya QR on top of the regular cashback that they usually receive. Some of these new partners include Landers Superstore, Mercury Drug, KFC, Robinson’s Department Store, Total Alabang and Valenzuela, and Toys ‘R Us, among many others.
Bringing back time and convenience
But aside from getting monetary rewards in the form of cashback every time they pay, users are also able to make more time and experience greater convenience when they use PayMaya.
With PayMaya’s virtual card, for example, users can instantly gain access to a payment card which they can easily use for online shopping and other digital payments for a faster, more efficient payment experience.
PayMaya also recently introduced the ability to transfer money from users’ PayMaya account to other bank accounts, eliminating the need to wait in line at bank branches in order to make a bank deposit.
To know more about the BalikBayad campaign and how you can get all of these exciting perks from PayMaya, visit www.paymaya.com/balikbayad or follow @PayMayaOfficial on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Top Ph property firms to showcase their unique attributes to FIABCI World Real Estate Congress
FIABCI World Real Estate Congress is happening in Manila this year. The congress theme is “Urban Revolution”, which is about planning how the global cities of the future must take shape in the light of today’s threats and challenges.
If you are passionate about urban and organic gardening, the environment, sustainable urban development, and the complete future of the community you live in. Then you are in. This would be tackled in the upcoming real estate congress.
The country’s top property firms will showcase their own innovations in healthy and energy-efficient urban living during the staging of the world real estate congress in Manila in May this year.
Topping the list of congress exhibitors are Megaworld Corporation, Federal Land Inc., Robinson’s Land Corporation, and Prime Homes Real Estate Development Inc., among many others.
Their exhibits will be viewed by the participants from the Paris-based International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI), whose membership covers 100 national associations, 95 academic institutions, 2,300 companies, 40 professions and over a million individual members in five continents spanning 72 countries, including the Philippines.
FIABCI Philippines president Architect Nestor S. Mangio said the Filipino firms would be seen showcasing their unique attributes to a widely cosmopolitan market vis-Ã -vis a foreign supply and value chain with its own world-class capabilities.
“Together, they constitute a global real estate industry that can and is poised to bring about an urban revolution across the world,” Mangio said in the context of today’s evolving environment such as massive city migration, increased urban density, transport and mobility constraints from ever-growing vehicular volume, water and air pollution, sanitation threats, floods and rising sea levels, earthquakes and structural engineering challenges, climate change and global warming, typhoons and volcanic eruptions, polar shift and changing weather patterns, and spiralling energy and fuel prices, and their impact on food production and the rest of the economy.
“Facing and overcoming all those challenges require no less than a revolutionary approach in urban planning and development involving new technologies, parameters, and both industry and market mindset,” Mangio said of new urban lifestyles that could emanate therefrom.
He said Megaworld, Federal Land, Robinson’s, and Prime Homes were not just building residential and commercial structures.
“They are practically creating new urban lifestyles while optimizing land use, expanding tourism capacity, generating employment and entrepreneurial opportunities, promoting commerce, providing comforts and conveniences, and virtually introducing a new way of living altogether,” Mangio said, citing Megaworld’s township as an example.
“On the other hand, Robinson’s is pairing malls and residential condominiums as a lifestyle package and a value proposition rolled into one, while Federal Land is introducing a themed version of mid-rise development around a commercial hub as its centerpiece like the one in Marikina,” Mangio explained.
“Veering a bit from this approach is Larossa of Prime Homes, whose nature-inspired concept is influenced by the century-old trees that serve as its crown jewels so as to create the ambiance of urban paradise right in the heart of the bustling Quezon City.
“Nonetheless, all these property firms (Megaworld, Federal Land, Robinson’s Land, and Prime Homes) are into ecologic, economic and ergonomic urban development where everything is within reach.
“Their projects virtually serve as precursors to the rise of hikable and bikable cities that we have seen emerging in the continents of Europe and the Americas,” Mangio further explained. The latest trend, though, includes the use of new construction materials like aerated concrete that can float on water and provide significant thermal insulation. Others feature reinforced joints of beams and columns to create an earthquake-resistant structure by addressing the weakest links.
These and other construction methodologies that combine multi- and trans-disciplinary technologies are expected to be presented by experts at the forthcoming FIABCI World Real Estate Congress slated at the Marriott Hotel in Newport City, Pasay, Metro Manila on May 26-30.
Aptly, the congress theme is “Urban Revolution”, which is about planning how the global cities of the future must take shape in the light of today’s threats and challenges.
Supporting the congress are the UN-Habitat, Grant Thornton, Reed Midem, and World Urban Campaign as sponsors, with FIABCI-Philippines (fiabci.phil@gmail.com) as the organizer.

Alfamart fulfills dreams of young entrepreneur in Sta. Rita
Martiniano “Degs” Valencia is a simple man with not-so-simple dreams. As a young boy, he was already honing his entrepreneurial spirit, selling fresh carabao’s milk and boiled corn in the streets of his hometown of Sta. Rita, Pampanga.
By the time he reached college, Valencia was supplying processed meat products from Pampanga to various stores in Manila -- and then he went on to become a bagger at a major supermarket chain while on summer vacation from school.
For a time, Valencia left his retail roots behind and went into more technical work as a broadcast engineer for a major broadcasting network, and then worked as a technical controller in Dubai for ten years. His life was going well, and when his youngest child was born, he and his wife decided to move back to the Philippines for good.
After resettling in the Philippines, Valencia began developing investments left and right -- buying and selling second-hand cars, selling real estate, leasing stalls, and selling fruit-bearing trees and nurseries. As a wise investor and someone who wanted to take advantage of passive income, Valencia was delighted when Alfamart, the first and only Super Minimart chain in the Philippines, became his business partner and set up a branch in his hometown.
“My wife and I were dreaming of having our own grocery store as our main business,” Valencia said. Construction was already on-going for a small commercial complex that they started on their land when Alfamart approached them with an offer to lease and build a store. “Alfamart then came in to fulfill our dreams,” he added.
After going into business with Alfamart, Valencia said his quality of life has vastly improved. He and his family have nearly reached their financial goals in just a few years following the partnership, and he is able to spend much more time with them.
“We are extremely grateful to our partners like Degs in Sta. Rita, Pampanga,” said Alfamart COO, Harvey T. Ong. “With the help of partners, we’re able to expand to more communities. Each store we open is a step towards our advocacy of promoting community development, especially in areas outside Metro Manila,” he said.
Ong also mentioned that Alfamart is looking for more partners as it continues to expand. “We are always searching for opportunities to bring the Super Minimart experience to everyone in the Philippines,” Ong continued.
Degs’s story is just one of the many others telling us to work hard and to grab opportunities at the right time. Your story could be like his as well. For more information on how to become an Alfamart partner and/or lessor, you may visit https://alfamart.com.ph/do-business-with-us/.

Four Tips to Actually Keep Your New Year's Resolutions This 2020
A new year’s resolution is a great way to kick off your year but let’s be honest, goal setting is one of the things that are easier said than done. You may have started with some steps toward your goal this January but research shows that 45% of people don’t succeed in keeping their new year’s resolutions on track. Maintaining motivation is doable as long as you create a game plan on how to approach any roadblocks keeping you from your best year yet.
Remind Yourself Why
Other than being inspired by a new beginning, a New Year’s Resolution is usually rooted from a desire to change old habits or to form new and healthy ones. The first tip to being consistent with your New Year’s Resolution is to always keep your reasons in mind to not get blindsided by distractions. To help you with this, create a vision board that can be seen every morning to start the day with the intention of accomplishing your goal.
Plan and update your timeframe
Tracking your goals is an effective system to help when you feel off, which is completely normal.
With that, keep a tracker to list your goals such as exercising for a certain number of hours a day. Physically seeing your progress and how far you’ve come is an extra boost that can keep you going. You can come across hundreds of free and printable goal tracker templates online!
Celebrate wins
Whether it’s big or small, a win is a win and should be celebrated. You can give yourself a pat at the back when you reach milestones such as getting through another week or month of keeping at it with your resolutions. Also keep in mind that forming new habits takes time, so another way you can reward yourself is to take a rest and relax for a little while. With the Wind-Free function of the Samsung Premium Inverter Wind-Free Plus Air Conditioner, you are sure to get cool air without the harsh air for a good night’s sleep. Also set up your oil burner or diffuser with some essential oils to destress and have a relaxing time. Think of it as investing in yourself and your goals!

Set up your environment for success
If one of your goals this year is to be healthier, make yourself hydrated by keeping water accessible to you at all times. Buy a 1-liter insulated water bottle that keeps water cool wherever you carry it. If you want to prepare healthy meals for yourself but you’re finding it difficult to do, you can purchase the necessary items that can serve as a great investment in the long run. Quickly prepare easy and nutritious meals with a Samsung Smart Oven before a workday or workweek to make it easier to be consistent with your healthy habits! Spending money on such items can make it easier for you to keep yourself dedicated to your goal.
