Grab PH Teams Up with NAIA and OneAyala to Offer Free Holiday Shuttle Rides at Terminals 2 and 3

Grab Philippines, in partnership with the New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) and OneAyala, is providing free shuttle rides for Filipinos arriving at Terminals 2 and 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport – the busiest terminals this holiday season.

The Grab Be Present Bus provides convenient point-to-point transportation for Overseas Filipino Workers and other domestic travelers, connecting NAIA Terminals 2 and 3 directly to the OneAyala Transport Hub.

Ride-hailing platforms in the Philippines are facing increased pressure this holiday season as surging demand collides with persistent challenges such as traffic congestion and supply-demand imbalance. Grab Philippines’ historical data shows that the number of ride bookings grows to as much as 45% in the second and third weeks of December, directly impacting the reliability of the existing fleet of Transport Network Vehicle Services (TNVS) drivers to render their services.

With the Grab Be Present Bus connecting passengers from the airport to a hub that houses other mass transit options, these concerns are effectively mitigated – ensuring more Filipinos can reach their destinations this season.

The Grab Be Present Bus free shuttle services will be available from December 12 to 14 and December 19 to 21, 2024, operating daily from 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Passengers who wish to avail of the service can find Grab marshalls stationed at the arrival halls who will be ushering them to the pick-up point. They can also directly proceed to the pick-up points located at Terminal 3 (Bay 4) and Terminal 2 (Bay 5). To board the bus, passengers simply need to register and present their Grab app to the marshalls.

Grab is thrilled to announce the return of GrabFood FanFaves 2024, Grab's annual campaign that celebrates Filipino foodies’ most loved food items of the year.

Get ready to vote and let your foodie voice be heard as GrabFood FanFaves 2024 touts new categories such as Top Asian, Filipino and Dessert Options. Cast your votes until September 12, 2024 by ordering from your favorite merchants!

"GrabFood FanFaves is more than just a campaign; it's a celebration of the diverse Philippine culinary scene. From well-known brands and international cuisines to our cherished local eateries – we honor them all. These gastronomic gems have been the backdrop for countless Filipino memories, and we're privileged to have GrabFood as a conduit for food enthusiasts to explore more of our rich food culture. Through GrabFood FanFaves, our platform and our dedicated consumers shine a spotlight on those who have made our moments extra special with their exceptional food and offerings," shares Greg Camacho, Grab's Director for Deliveries.

Vote for more merchants under more categories

Over 20 prestigious awards are up for grabs, waiting to be claimed by your favorite GrabFood merchants. Every order you place is a vote, a show of support for your beloved restaurants.

In the National Icons category, we're on the hunt for the best in fried chicken, pasta, burgers, pizza, and more. The nominated items with the highest number of orders will be named Platinum winners, earning a spotlight in an array of in-app features and other media platforms. Not to be outdone, any dish that reaches 10,000 orders will be honored with Gold status.

But that's not all! We're also recognizing fan favorites in Asian, Filipino, and dessert categories, as well as regional food brands that have captured our hearts.

Lastly, for the first time, GrabMart merchants are joining the fray, with our esteemed partners like Coca-Cola, Knorr, Lady’s Choice, Mondelez, and Reckitt/Mead Johnson presenting their own awards.

A Much Appreciated Stamp of Approval

In 2023, hundreds of merchants participated in the GrabFood FanFaves awards, giving deserving merchants the nation’s stamp of approval for their most beloved food and drink items as voted by dedicated GrabFood users.

Millions of users were reached by the campaign, which awarded merchants across different cuisines, offerings, and areas who shared how impactful FanFaves was on their business. Cebu-based Jafar’s Shawarma Station said that “[Being recognized at GrabFood FanFaves 2023] was a wonderful way to highlight our brand as part of a collective community of services and products. Sales, traffic count, and brand awareness increased beyond our expectations. In fact, we had some of our highest sales to date because of the event.” In Mindanao, Davao’s WOW Lechon proudly shared that “securing the Top 1 spot in Mindanao really put us on the map, driving a surge in orders and drawing in many new customers eager to taste our lechon. It gave us a fantastic chance to connect with our community and solidify our reputation as the go-to place for lechon.”

These 2023 highlights attest to GrabFood FanFaves’ positive impact on the business of Filipino entrepreneurs as enabled by its highly active base of foodies.

Enjoy special promos when you vote

With the expansion of categories and prizes also comes a stamp card promo for GrabFood users to encourage voting. Ordering from a FanFaves-nominated merchant not only counts as a vote, but also grants the user up to P70 off on their 3rd order, P80 off on the 5th order, and P90 off on the 8th order.[1] Rewards also await those with the highest number of orders from the merchants that will be hailed as Platinum winners. Grab Philippines Joins Forces with Red Cross, Jollibee, and McDonald’s for GrabBayanihan

Grab Philippines teamed up with the Philippines Red Cross, Jollibee Group Foundation, and McDonald’s Kindness Kitchen for its GrabBayanihan Program to provide support to communities devastated by the recent Typhoon Carina. The initiative encourages all Grab users to convert their rewards into donations, aiding the various projects run by these three organizations.

Grab Philippines' Chief Operating Officer, Ronald Roda, expressed, "Our entire Grab community is fully committed to leveraging our technology and long-standing partnerships with various organizations to support the recovery of calamity-affected communities, especially in Metro Manila. We understand that recovery is challenging, but it becomes more achievable with the support of our kababayans. This is the essence of GrabBayanihan – fostering a sense of malasakit in all of us to create powerful waves of not just aid, but hope.”

"We are grateful to our partners, the Philippine Red Cross, and two of the largest fast-food chains in the Philippines – Jollibee and McDonald's, for their collaboration in this cause," added Roda.

Extending a Helping Hand with Every Tap

Grab users, especially those subscribed to GrabUnlimited, accumulate points with each transaction made on the Grab platform. These points can be redeemed for rewards listed in the Grab Rewards Catalogue. In a move to facilitate aid for victims of Typhoon Carina, Grab Philippines has reduced the points required for donations towards the typhoon response efforts of the Philippines Red Cross, Jollibee Group Foundation, and McDonald’s Kindness Kitchen.

The initiative is active on the platform from July 26 to August 29, 2024. During this timeframe, Grab users can contribute to the partner organizations using their Grab Reward Points (GRP). A donation of PHP20 to the organizations will require the use of 60 GRP. Similarly, a donation of PHP50 will require 150 GRP, and to donate PHP100, users will need to redeem 300 GRP.

GrabRewards can be accessed via the Grab Homepage ‘All’ Button

Fostering Resilience with the GrabBayanihan Spirit

Grab and MOVE IT driver and rider volunteers went to various communities heavily affected by Typhoon Carina to provide much-needed relief packages

Following a two-day donation drive involving Grab and MOVE IT employees, as well as driver and rider partner communities, hundreds of volunteers from these groups convened at the Grab & MOVE IT Driver Center in Marikina from July 26 to 28. Volunteers assembled relief items, including groceries, canned goods, bottled water, and toiletries, into GrabBayanihan Care Packages.

The volunteers then distributed the care packages across disaster-affected communities in Caloocan, Montalban, Rizal, Malanday, Pasay, and Marikina, providing much-needed aid to over 2,500 families.

Grab launches its latest transportation service Advance Booking

Hitting the road whether for leisure travel across the Philippines or sealing business deals overseas can be a daunting endeavor. The pre-travel stress between the epic suitcase shuffle and the documents paranoia can be too much to handle – and this is even without considering the challenge of getting to the airport on time or arranging transportation.

Understanding this dilemma, Grab – the partner of every Filipino for safe, convenient, and reliable mobility – launches its latest transportation service Advance BookingGrab Advance Booking guarantees on-time rides to the airport via the GrabAirport fleet, ticking off yet another item on the travelers’ checklist.

Grab Philippines Head of Mobility EJ Dela Vega shares, “Having served the Philippines for over a decade, we at Grab have deepened our understanding of the distinct needs of our Filipino passengers. One such need that stands out is their requirement for reliable airport transportation. Recognizing this, we are enhancing the experience of airport rides on Grab with the launch of Advance Booking. Our new Grab Advance Booking product goes beyond offering mere airport transfers – it provides travelers the peace of mind they deserve. This new service has been engineered to have guaranteed on-time rides every time, enabling every Filipino traveler to leave their homes with the confidence they'll have a ride to make their flight on time.”

Grab Advance Booking: Guaranteed On-Time Rides, Every Time

The worries about catching a flight in the wee hours of the morning or during the peak of the metro bustle are a thing of the past with Grab Advance Booking. This new Grab mobility service touts guaranteed rides every time.

Plan as early as 7 Days ahead:  With Grab's Advance Booking feature, passengers can effortlessly plan their journeys well in advance. The reservation window is flexible, allowing bookings to be made as early as seven days or as late as two hours before the scheduled ride.

Stay Stress-free with On-Time Pick-up Assurance: The Grab Advance Booking driver-partners are guaranteed to be on time. In instances of service disruption, the Grab platform swiftly and seamlessly reassigns the ride to an alternative driver-partner, ensuring a successful completion of the trip for the passenger. To ensure fairness, a Php-100 courtesy credit will be offered to passengers if the driver arrives late for a pre-scheduled ride.

No need to panic with extended wait time: Further enhancing passenger convenience, a 15-minute grace period is implemented for Advance Booking rides. This allows drivers to accommodate minor delays, while passengers encountering unforeseen circumstances have additional time to reach the pick-up location.

Booking in a Breeze

Accessing Grab Advance Booking is a walk in the park. Passengers can select  “Advance Booking” under the Grab transport page. They can then enter the date and time of their ride, along with their pick-up location and the specific airport terminal for drop-off.

Advance Booking passengers will also be receiving regular updates and reminders about the status of their ride leading to the scheduled pick-up time. 45 minutes prior to the scheduled trip, passengers can already chat and check in with their assigned driver in-app.

As safety and convenience remain paramount for Grab, Advance Booking rides can only accommodate a maximum of three passengers with three pieces of luggage.

Safeguarding our Driver-Partners

Grab has also implemented protective measures to safeguard the income of the dedicated fleet for Advance Booking. These measures are designed to mitigate the impact of last-minute cancellations by passengers, specifically those made less than an hour before the scheduled pick-up time. During such cancellations, the passenger will be charged the full fare of the ride. The same policy applies when a passenger is unreachable or hasn't arrived 15 minutes past the scheduled time.

However, there will be no charge for any passenger cancellation done at least one hour before the scheduled pick-up time,

A worry-free airport transfer

The Grab Advance Booking eases the overall experience of leisure and business travelers going to the airport, allowing them to relax as they begin their trip. This new service from Grab is currently exclusive to trips going to Metro Manila airports via its GrabAirport fleet, which was launched last year in conjunction with the MIAA. Its availability in cities and regions outside of the National Capital Region is expected to transpire in the second half of 2024.

For more information on Grab Advance Booking, passengers may visit the Grab Help Center.

Grab's Capacity-Building Program Empowers Women Behind the Wheel, Renewing Confidence

Determined to build up the confidence of its women driver- and delivery-partners in offering ride-hailing and delivery services, Grab Philippines has rolled out a vigorous capacity-building program covering key competencies required in the industry. This initiative is a key pillar of the Women Program under Grab’s social upliftment campaign GrabAsenso.

Grab works with various agencies and organizations for its women-first capacity-building programs

Through its active discussions with women driver leaders and women driver communities, Grab Philippines has discovered that among the leading reasons why women feel discouraged from pursuing a career in transportation and deliveries is the mindset that driving is not suitable for them. There is also a lack of confidence in their capability to manage challenging situations like irate passenger handling, vehicle breakdowns, and safety.

In line with this, the leading superapp has fortified its partnership with agencies and organizations like the  Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Philippine Red Cross (PRC), and the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) to design and implement a comprehensive capacity-building program dedicated to female drivers. This is geared at uplifting the confidence of every current and potential Ate Grab in plying roads daily.

Grab Philippines and the Philippine Commission on Women held a lunch and learn session with women driver-partners on the Safe Spaces Act

On 21 March 2024, Grab women drivers attended a Safe Spaces Training with PCW. PCW speaker Danielle Alexandria Anteola delved into the Safe Spaces Act and how it protects women and ensures justice for misconduct against them. “Efforts such as this lunch and learn session by Grab are critical in making sure that more Filipinas know what the Safe Spaces Act is, and how they can co-create harassment-free and discrimination-free environments as enshrined in the law. We commend Grab for joining the campaign for safe spaces for all our kababayans – a step forward to a more inclusive society,” Anteola shares.

Grab Philippines Head of Operations CJ Lacsican underscores the company’s full dedication to enriching the diversity, inclusivity, and equality within the Grab driver- and rider- network. “The digital economy brings viable opportunities for everyone, intensifying the hope and capability of our kababayans to attain their aspirations. As a leader in ride-hailing and on-demand deliveries, we aim to lift more Filipinos to help them capitalize on these opportunities. Every Filipino wanting to better their life should be able to do so without doubts about their safety, skills, or even fears of gender-based discrimination. These are barriers that we relentlessly try to break down at Grab – for every Ate wishing to join our platform.”

On its part, Grab touts a slew of technological features that ensure its women driver- and delivery-partners are safe and protected:

Women Passengers Preferred Toggle: Activated last February 2024, this new feature gives our Ate Grab driver the option to prioritize the matching with female passengers.

Emergency Assistance Button: This feature allows driver-partners to readily access law enforcement when in distress with just a few simple taps.

Trip Monitoring: This feature enables Grab to track atypical stops and routing taken by driver-partners, consequently encouraging them to contact law enforcement or medical teams if needed. Through Trip Monitoring, Grab is also able to make proactive calls to drivers and passengers to check on their wellbeing.

Share Live Location: For a worry-free ride, driver-partners can share a tracking link to their loved ones and colleagues showing their live location as they fulfill a ride.

Grab has also produced e-learning content for its women driver-partners through Grab Academy, which is an online learning platform exclusive to Grab partners. Courses on passenger handling, road safety, and vehicle maintenance can be easily accessed by partners at their preferred time and pace.
