Experience GrabPasko holiday treat with GrabTaxi

There are only 9 days left before Christmas and GrabTaxi is feeling the holiday cheer. From 11am to 2pm yesterday, the company sent out 200 puto bumbongs for free to GrabTaxi users who booked through the special GrabPasko icon that was specially made for the event. Lucky passengers in Makati CBD and BGC were treated to the Filipino holiday delicacy delivered by GrabTaxi and GrabExpress drivers.

“We wanted to spread the holiday spirit and give our passengers small tokens as thank you for their support throughout 2015,” says Khriztina Lim, Country Marketing Head of GrabTaxi Philippines.

Take your love to the skies (and avoid the hellish metro traffic) with GrabHeli

“I try to keep my face impassive as we enter the elevator. The doors close, and it’s there, the weird electrical attraction crackling between us, enslaving me. I close my eyes in a vain attempt to ignore it. He tightens his grip on my hand, and five seconds later the doors open on to the roof of the building. And there it is, a white helicopter with the name Grey Enterprises Holdings Inc. written in blue with the company logo on the side.

“Let’s go,” Christian says, and we make our way toward the helicopter…“Sit – don’t touch anything,” he orders as he clambers in behind me.”

For those who have read Fifty Shades of Grey, one of the most memorable (besides their romps in the red room) is when Christian first took Anastasia on a helicopter ride.

And while the chances of meeting your own Christian Grey may be  next to impossible, booking your own helicopter ride for a romantic date isn’t—thanks to GrabHeli—GrabTaxi’s newest addition to its transport fleet.

GrabTaxi, the Southeast Asia’s largest land transport brand, launches two new services GrabPay and GrabHeli at  PhilJets’ hangar in Pasay last Nov 24. The event was hosted by Ms. Joey Mead King and attended by Grab ambassadors Solenn Heussaff, Janine Gutierrez, Mikela Martinez, Joyce Pring, Chico Garcia, among others.

If you book a GrabCar, GrabCar+ or a GrabHeli, you have the option to either pay in cash or debit/credit card using the GrabPay app in your smartphone. To register, passengers just need to enter their credit card details in the payment section of the settings, wait for approval and when they book rides, they’ll be able to select credit card payment already.

GrabPay, the new payment option for GrabCar, GrabCar+ and now, GrabHeli, will enable passengers to pay with their credit or debit cards. GrabCar, which became popular for being the first ride-sharing app to accept cash transactions for rides, has added cashless payments to their payment options.

When a passenger books a GrabCar with GrabPay, all they need to do is get in and out of the car, no more looking for change and they receive the e-receipt immediately.

Starting today, GrabPay will be rolled out to all GrabCar Peers, and passengers who book rides with GrabCar and GrabCar+ will have the power to choose their preferred mode of payment after registering with GrabPay.

“The Philippines has always been primarily a cash country that’s why we invested our efforts in making GrabCar available to most Filipinos. Now that we’ve established the brand, we want to be able to reach out to the credit card users and make the app accessible to virtually anyone with a smartphone,” said Khriztina Lim, Country Head of Marketing, GrabTaxi Philippines. GrabTaxi has made the transition from cash to credit as seamless as possible for passengers.

GrabTaxi Takes to the Skies with PhilJets

In an exclusive partnership with PhilJets, GrabTaxi adds GrabHeli to their growing product offerings. GrabHeli, which is in its beta stage, will be tested for three months. PhilJets, a startup in itself, is aligned with the goals of GrabTaxi in innovating and providing transport solutions to the country. “We are very happy to partner with GrabTaxi Philippines. In the 2 years they’ve been in the country, they’ve proven that they’re a formidable company to be associated with and this partnership promises a ride to remember,” said Thierry Tea, CEO of PhilJets Group. GrabHeli, a pre-booking helicopter experience, is the company’s latest innovation. “GrabTaxi has been in the Philippines for a few years now and we’re launching GrabHeli as a way to thank the passengers who have always supported us and stood as witnesses to our growth. It has always been our goal to transform the way Filipinos travel and aviation is not an exception.”

Be a GrabHeli beta tester For Php 3,888 per person, anyone registered with GrabPay can fly around Manila in an aerial tour of Makati, BGC and Pasay. Unique GrabCar promo codes will be given to GrabHeli passengers to take them to or from PhilJets’ helipad in Manila Domestic Airport. “Booking a helicopter ride used to cost tens of thousands of Pesos. But through our partnership with PhilJets, we’ve made it possible to just buy a minimum of one seat on a helicopter and you’re good to go. With GrabHeli, riding a helicopter will not be as far-fetched as it used to be. It is now luxury within reach,” said Lim.

Pre-booking a GrabHeli will be available weekly from Saturdays to Wednesdays through the GrabTaxi app with fixed flight schedules during Fridays and Saturdays at 4pm.

GrabCar PH Press Statement

As per Ms. Natasha Dawn S. Bautista, Head of GrabCar Philippines

GrabTaxi has always been committed to providing a better option for public transportation. We would like to apologize to commuters as not everyone was able to get a ride home via our service during the downpour last Tuesday, 8 September 2015.

Heavy rains resulted in traffic congestion and flooded areas all over Metro Manila. Many of our drivers were affected and got stranded, like the rest of Metro Manila, and were not able to  accept bookings as they were caught in the gridlock. The flooded road conditions also meant that they would have risked passenger safety and their cars breaking down.

We acknowledge, however, that we can still improve our passengers’ experience and are taking active steps to increase the number of bookings accepted, including:

Release of a few app updates already lined up in the coming weeks to improve the algorithm of matching demand and supply, particularly during peak hours. Currently, availability of drivers can be more accurate and we are further developing the app to address that.

Enforce stricter process of reprimanding drivers for the improper use of the app (i.e. not switching off app if unable to accept bookings) and remind them on the high service levels expected. We will not hesitate to investigate and deregister errant drivers. We urge passengers to rate our drivers and give proper feedback in our app so that we may be able to take corrective actions, if any.

Review pricing model and effectiveness of the optional tip feature, while maintaining simplified fixed pricing for GrabCar passengers. The fixed pricing model was designed so that passengers don’t have to worry about unreasonable fares because of unforeseen circumstances like different route, traffic, or surge in demand. In the event that these happen, the tip function allows us to balance out high demand during low supply situations without forcing passengers to pay a surge. There have been varying viewpoints on the value of this feature, and we commit to reviewing it to better suit the market.

We will be meeting with the LTFRB to discuss in detail consumer needs and feedback around GrabTaxi/GrabCar and we will continuously improve our service to provide a safe and reliable service for passengers in Manila.

Gotham’s villains are taking over Manila once again, as WarnerTV and GrabTaxi bring back round two of the Gotham Villain Hunt – the Penguin Craze. From January 15 to February 15, GrabCar’s fleet will be turned into a temporary home for hundreds of limited edition plush penguins, as well as other exclusive Gotham merchandise from WarnerTV.

GrabCar : Rides Made Awesome

Taxis offer the convenience of having a car without the hassle and expense of parking and gas, and you can book a taxi with the use of the app available for iOS and Android, it enables users to pledge a tip to the driver to pick them up right where they want, whenever they need a ride. With that in mind comes, GrabTaxi, consumers can now grab an affordable private car without the hassle of ownership and provides the same safety standard.

GrabTaxi, the largest Southeast Asian taxi-booking mobile app, is launching GrabCar on the existing mobile app. GrabCar is a brand new service that provides an authorized on-demand private driver for anyone without the hassle of owning a private car.

This new service provides a new option for passengers and also expands the benefits of GrabTaxi to a new network of drivers. Like GrabTaxi, GrabCar offers private car drivers the opportunity to build on their income by providing them with a much wider user-base and an efficient driver-to-passenger matching.

Anthony Tan said, “What has ensured GrabTaxi’s success in Philippines has been its ability to adapt and evolve to meet our user’s needs. That’s why we are introducing GrabCar; we see that there is an opportunity to fill a gap in the industry without taking away business from our core user-base of taxis. GrabCar will give our passengers that upmarket personalized experience while ensuring a fun and authentic ride.”

Brian Cu, Natasha Bautista and Anthony Tan

GrabCar will complement the public taxi industry by providing an affordable alternative supply to meet this demand. GrabCar will provide passengers the option to select a private car if they require one and a higher chance to make a successful booking during peak hours.

Anthony Tan added,” GrabCar not only gives consumers more options, it will also be positive for taxi drivers in the GrabTaxi network. This will increase the volume of cars available to passengers and build consumer confidence and loyalty in GrabTaxi, eventually leading to more people using the GrabTaxi platform and more rides for taxi drivers.”

The introduction of GrabTaxi into the Philippines has helped repair an inefficient system and develop a safer environment for both passengers and drivers. As a core component of the mobile app, GrabCar holds closely to the pillars of GrabTaxi, which are safety, convenience and speed.

To use GrabCar, users can select the GrabCar option which appears on your GrabTaxi app. This will help narrow down the search to GrabCar vehicles for an affordable chauffeured trip.

The free GrabTaxi app which incorporates the GrabCar function for smartphones and tablets is available from Google Play (Android), App Store (iOS), Windows Phone, and the BlackBerry World app store.
