HBO ORIGINAL DRAMA SERIES LANTERNS BEGINS PRODUCTION

 Production has commenced on the HBO Original drama series Lanterns on the historic Warner Bros. lot in Burbank. The series, an HBO Original production in association with Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios, is based on the iconic DC title Green Lantern.   


The series follows new recruit John Stewart and Lantern legend Hal Jordan, two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.

 

Cast includes Aaron Pierre, Kyle Chandler, Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, and Ulrich Thomsen.

 

Chris Mundy, Executive Producer and Showrunner, quote: From the start, our driving force has been to deliver a layered drama – rooted in nuanced storytelling and rich world building – that balances tension and mystery with honest, authentic emotion. The goal is to create something that feels timeless and grounded without sacrificing the magic of the source material.”

 

HBO in association with Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios. The Lanterns pilot is co-written by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King. The first two episodes are directed by James Hawes, with Stephen Williams, Geeta Vasant Patel and Alik Sakharov also tapped to direct. The series is executive produced by Mundy, Lindelof, James Gunn, Peter Safran, King, Ron Schmidt, and Hawes. Based on the DC comic “Green Lantern.”

Rick and Morty: The Anime debuts Friday, August 16 on HBO GO.


 

The Rick and Morty universe expands with the debut of an all-new anime from visionary director Takashi Sano (Tower of God) that follows Rick, Morty and the rest of the Smith family in a new intergalactic adventure, Rick and Morty: The Anime debuts Friday, August 16 on HBO GO.

 

In celebration of Rick and Morty: The Anime, Adult Swim’s Rickmobile and Mortymobile will hit the road for a multi-city ANIME-rican tour across North America, late July. “Takashi Sano, in addition to being a super-talented director, is also a huge Rick and Morty fan,” said Michael Ouweleen, president, Adult Swim. “He’s the perfect person to give us all this alternate version of this amazing show. And the perfect way to launch this series is by doing our favorite thing – drive ridiculous vehicles around and come see all of you in person. Keep an eye out for our Rickmobile and Mortymobile as they cruise across the country and wrack up various toll tickets to celebrate the expansion of the Rick and Morty universe.” 

 

In this 10-episode anime series from the world of Rick and Morty, Rick relaxes in a pseudo-world between multiverses, Summer helps Space Beth fight the evil Galactic Federation, and Morty falls in love with a mysterious girl who happens to be an atemporal being.

 

The Japanese and English voice actors, respectively, for Rick and Morty: The Anime include:

White House Plumbers takes the audience behind-the-scenes of the Watergate scandal as Nixon's political saboteurs, E. Howard Hunt and G. Chronicling actions on the ground, this satirical drama begins in 1971 when the White House hires Hunt and Liddy, former CIA and FBI, respectively, to investigate the Pentagon Papers leak. But the pair gets in over their heads when they land a $300 million deal to arm the Afghan Military - a deal that puts them in business with some very shady people, not the least of which turns out to be the U.S. Government.
