"Unsurveyed" people choose VP Leni Robredo

Contrary to what most surveys indicate, Vice President Leni Robredo is way ahead of her rival Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. as shown by an independent study on Filipinos who have never experienced being a respondent to an election survey.

Brand-Y Research and Market Intelligence tapped some 1,200 Filipinos who have never been officially surveyed as participants in a study conducted from Feb. 16 to 28, 2022.

In the study, participants were asked via online questionnaire on who they will vote for President and Vice President in the May 9 elections.

The study used psychographic identifier for its respondents: Medyo Hirap Pa Sa Buhay (SEC DE), Ok Naman Hindi Mahirap Hindi Mayaman (SEC C), and Komportable At Nakaka-Angat-Angat Na Ang Pamilya (SEC AB).

The overall result of the study indicates that Robredo could get 53 percent of the total vote, while Marcos could obtain just 37 percent of votes come election day.

Consistent with the published surveys, Marcos was the choice of 52 percent of SEC DE or the majority of the population (58 percent) while Robredo got 36 percent, a vast improvement from the usual 16-20 percent rating she obtained from previous surveys.

Robredo however, easily won SEC AB (1 percent of population) and C (41 percent of population) with 96 percent and 76.8 percent, respectively.

The numbers for Robredo could increase as members of SEC DE are more likely to change their choice of candidate before the elections.

In addition, Robredo also enjoys immense popularity online as she topped both Google Trends and Facebook Analytics.

The Vice President topped Google Trends from Feb. 5 to March 2, 2022 with an aggregate score of 107 from searches using the keywords “Leni” and Robredo” and from positive engagements, way ahead of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos’ aggregate score of 79.

Google Trends has been successful in predicting the outcomes of latest elections in the United States, Greece, Spain, Germany and Brazil.

Robredo was also ahead by five points over Marcos this month when it comes to Facebook engagement score, which helps measure potential for people becoming voters of a certain candidate. Robredo currently has 8 million engagements over her rival’s 7.5 million.

The Vice President is running on the platform of “Oplan Angat Agad”, which is focused on employment, health and education.

She also wants to assure that at least one family member is receiving a monthly salary while those who lost their job will get a three-month financial assistance while looking for employment.

When it comes to health, Robredo has committed to provide each and every families with free doctor and to make health care affordable for all Filipinos. She also aims to provide quality education to students that would help them secure their dream jobs in the future.

Google Trends points to a Leni victory in May

An economist has predicted a victory by Vice President Leni Robredo in the presidential race, based on current Google Trends results.

In his Philippine Star column, Andrew Masigan said that according to the latest report covering Feb. 5 to March 2, 2022, Robredo currently leads Google Trends with an aggregate score of 107 from searches using the keywords “Leni” and Robredo” and from positive engagements.

Robredo is way ahead of her rival Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., who obtained an aggregate score of 79.

This bodes well for Robredo’s candidacy as Google Trends has been successful in predicting the election outcomes not just in the United States, but in other parts of the world such as Greece, Spain, Germany and Brazil, according to Masigan.

In 2016, Masigan said Google Trends correctly predicted the victory of President Rodrigo Duterte.

“That said, we can assume that the candidate who will become the new Philippine president is the one who generates the most Google searches and who arouses the greatest positive sentiment among the voting public today,” said Masigan.

Based on the Google Trend report, Robredo led Marcos in all regions but one – Ilocos Region, which is known as his bailiwick. Robredo even leads Marcos in areas belonging to the so-called “Solid North” – 60-40 in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and 54-46 in Cagayan Valley.

In Metro Manila, Robredo led Marcos, 59-41; 61-39 in Calabarzon; 57-43 in Central Luzon, 56-44 in Central Visayas, 68-31 in CARAGA; 69-32 in Bicol Region; and 61-39 in Western Visayas.

Robredo was also ahead in Eastern Visayas, 55-45; 56-44 in Central Visayas; 58-42 in Northern Mindanao, 53-47 in Davao Region and 59-41 in Zamboanga Peninsula.

“Taking the data of the last five weeks into consideration, Google Trends predicts a Robredo victory,” Masigan pointed out.

Earlier, data scientists Wilson Chua and Roger Do revealed that Robredo surpassed Marcos this month when it comes to Facebook engagement score, which helps measure potential for people becoming voters of a certain candidate.

Robredo rebounded from a five-point deficit in February, taking a five-point lead in March with 8 million engagements over her rival’s 7.5 million.

Robredo is running on the platform of “Oplan Angat Agad”, which is focused on employment, health and education.

The Vice Presidents wants to assure that at least one family member is receiving a monthly salary while those who lost their job will get a three-month financial assistance while looking for employment.

When it comes to health, Robredo has committed to provide each and every families with free doctor and to make health care affordable for all Filipinos.

She also aims to provide quality education to students that would help them secure their dream jobs in the future.

BBM Survey Rating Drops as Leni Enjoys Steady Rise

Presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. suffered a huge drop in his rating due to his refusal to attend television and radio interviews while the momentum has shifted to Vice President Leni Robredo as she experienced a steady rise in her rating from Jan. 23 to 27, 2022.

This was the result of the special study of the International Development and Security Cooperation (IDSC) on the 2022 national elections where it commissioned WR Numero Research for its opinion poll.

Based on the survey conducted by WR Numero Research, Marcos suffered a 9-point drop in his rating from 59 percent last Jan. 2-7 (Week 1)to 50 percent on Jan. 23 to 27 (Week 4) after he turned down an appearance in the “The Jessica Soho Presidential Interviews.”

Leni Robredo, for her part, gained a 4-percent increase in her rating, from 16 percent last Jan. 2 to 7, to 20 percent on Jan. 23 to 27, owing to her strong showing in the “The Jessica Soho Presidential Interviews” aired last 22 January and “The 2022 Presidential One-on-One Interviews with Boy Abunda” that was streamlined from 24 to 28 January.

Robredo also gained new supporters during the said interviews as “she laid clear plans for the country based on knowledge and experience.”

“Her ability to articulate her thoughts in layman’s terms dismantled the elitist image that others ascribed to her. Moreover, the launching of Robredo’s campaign tagline, “Gobyernong Tapat, Angat Buhay Lahat,” in mid- January consolidated the efforts of her supporters.

The new slogan also highlighted how a Robredo presidency, banking on transparency and competence, would be different from the rest of the candidates, according to IDSC.

“The slogan also encapsulates the inclusive and participative administration she employs,” the report added.

Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso garnered 9 percent while Senators Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Manny Pacquiao gained 4.12 percent and 2.41 percent, respectively, in the survey conducted from Jan. 23 to 27, 2022.
