John Herrera collaborates anew with EPSON PH featuring his "Armada" Spring/Summer 2018 Collection



It was truly John Herrera's lucky year when he won Britain's Top Designer (BTD) 2017 in London, England showcasing his "agila" collection inspired by the Philippine Eagle and tribal art. It was a winning collaboration with EPSON PH. 



This time around Epson PH collaborates anew with award-winning designer John Herrera in creating “Armada” - a 30-piece apparel for women for his Spring/Summer 2018 collection.  John Herrera showcased some of the Armada collection on August 29 at TWG Teahouse Shangri-la Plaza.

The newest John Herrera creations will be globally presented during Fashion Scout in September 2017, the international showcase for fashion pioneers and UK's largest independent showcase for emerging and established design talent during the 2017 London Fashion Week.


“The inspiration for the Armada collection came from the very first map in history that included the Philippine islands. This map by Diogo Ribeiro shows the world circa 1529.   With the help of Epson’s digital textile printing technology, I was able to render parts of this medieval map and present designs on opaque and translucent fabrics.  The combination of sheer and stiff materials with soft fabrics create new silhouettes will remind us of sailing to new worlds,” explains John Herrera.


Fresh off his win as  Britain’s Top Designer 2017 (BTD) at the 5th season of fashion’s finest event for emerging talent in British fashion for his Aguila collection, his first collaboration with Epson, Herrera delves back into history and Philippine pride in creating these new digitally-printed masterpieces.



Before heading to London for Fashion Scout, John Herrera will officially be sent off courtesy of Epson Philippines at the TWG Tea Salon & Boutique in the East Wing of EDSA Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Mandaluyong City. Special guests and close friends of John Herrera, as well as invitees from the Philippine lifestyle media were able to show their support and send their well wishes as he showcases his newest collection, Armada.






In a nod to the Spanish colonial heritage, Herrera also enhanced the collection by integrating in the design elements of costume and fashion from the era of King Phillip of Spain, the monarch whom the country was named after.  Hues of sepia and brown were combined in the digitally printed fabrics to infuse the feel and look of this historic time.




“This is the second time that John Herrera has tapped Epson’s digital textile printing technologies to create a totally different concept in fashion and design, and we are very happy to collaborate with him once again.

Epson named world’s number one projector brand for 16 consecutive years



Epson has been named as the number one projector brand worldwide for 16 consecutive years by Futuresource Consulting . The milestone demonstrates the company’s continuing market leadership and success in the visual imaging industry.


The most recent findings from Futuresource indicate that Epson has the largest market share for 500-lumen and above for projectors worldwide, at 35.5% for 2016, an increase from 31.9% in 2015. For the home projectors segment, Epson has also achieved the largest market share for 500-lumen and above for home projectors worldwide, which stands at 39.9% for 2016, an increase from 34.8% in 2015.

Epson’s worldwide market share for projectors have increased steadily over the last 16 years to maintain its continued dominance.Within Southeast Asia, Epson continues to maintain market leadership, with market share increasing to 33.6% in 2016, up from 27.3% in 2015.



In Philippines, 1 out of every 2 projector is now an Epson projector in the market for 2016. Epson continues to dominate the Philippines market as the number one brand in the country with 54.7% market share in 2016, up from 36.9% in 2015.

At the heart of Epson’s projectors is 3LCD technology, which enables Epson projectors to deliver the most vibrant and true-to-life images with up to 3 times higher colour brightness compared to 1-chip DLP projectors in the market.In contrast to 3-chip 3LCD projectors, 1-chip DLP projectors use a rotating color wheel that spins at a rapid speed, only displaying colors sequentially, which can result in color break-up or the “rainbow effect”.

Epson’s wide range of business and home projectors are designed to meet the varying needs of different users. Its business projector range includes enterprise projectors for classroom and small and medium meeting rooms, to interactive projectors for education and enterprise sectors, as well as high brightness projectors for large venue installations, rentals and staging venues.

John Herrera wins Britain’s Top Designer Competition for a collection digitally-printed by Epson




Epson would like to congratulate John Herrera for his win as of Britain’s Top Designer 2017 at London Fashion Week.

The winning collection, a result of the collaboration between John and Epson, is inspired by the Aguila, the protected Great Philippine Eagle.


“We would like to congratulate John on his recent win at Britain’s Top Designer competition. Epson is truly happy to have supported this achievement through digital textile printing. We hope that this inspires more fashion designers to make their vision into a reality,” shared Ed Bonoan, Senior General Manager and Marketing Head, Epson Philippines.

“The feedback from the judges was fantastic – particularly about the incredible quality of the fabric. One said that the eagle designs that I had drawn and printed were so clear and crisp they appeared almost 3D. Digital printing with Epson technology has enabled me to experiment with fabrics and choose the very best for my designs. It’s been a dream of mine – and most designers in fact - to be in control of the whole design process: from producing the fabric design, to choosing the fabric and printing it and creating the finished outfit. Epson has enabled me to realise this dream and I’m not going back now,” said John Herrera.



John’s runway collection was first unveiled in the Philippines last 1 February 2017 for an exclusive show for local journalists, Epson executives, partners, celebrities and several representatives from the fashion industry.
