Get clear shots with Smart Light Sensor and 3GB speed with Vivo's Y5S

Even in a world that is fixated on constant innovation, high-quality smartphones need not come at a hefty price. This is what top five premium global brand1 Vivo seems to proclaim as it launches the Y55s—the newest phone in its Y-series.

Given its premium features and specifications, the Y55s—for just P8,990—is undoubtedly the best smartphone deal in its price range.

The Y55s makes your selfies more vibrant through its Smart Light Sensor, which detects lighting conditions and adjusts screen brightness accordingly.

To begin with, the Y55s brandishes a 13-megapixel rear camera, a significant improvement on the 8-megapixel rear camera of its predecessor, the Y55. Complemented by a 5-megapixel front camera, the impressive rear camera assures selfie enthusiasts of nothing less than crystal clear pictures anytime.

The Y55s is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 Quad-core 1.4GHz CPU with a 3GB RAM and 16GB ROM, and runs on a personalized Funtouch OS 3.0 based on Android 6.0 that brings amazing speed and smooth user experience.

The Y55s also boasts a feature called the Smart Light Sensor, which detects lighting conditions and adjusts screen brightness accordingly. This, in turn, makes your face look more vibrant and clearer when taking selfies in any lighting condition.

On top of its notable camera specs and features, the Y55s brings Vivo’s design aesthetic into the picture with its sleek silhouette, its 2.5D glass front merging seamlessly with its unibody cover and making it easy to grip.

For flexibility, the Y55s has three card slots—two of them support an Internet speed of up to 150 Mbps, while the third slot supports up to 256 GB of external memory. This gives users more storage room and sufficient backup for their favorite photos, videos, and music.

The Y55s likewise aids multitasking professionals with the new and updated Smart Split 2.0 technology, a feature that allows them to split the screen in two, like when replying to a message while watching a video.

The smartphone currently supports video streaming, Facebook, Messages, WeChat, Whatsapp, YouTube, Video, Play Movies & TV and VLC for Android, with more coming soon.

Last but not the least, for those who are inclined to read e-books and watch movies on their phones, the Y55s has an eye protection mode that filters out blue light to prevent eye strain.

Young actress Andrea Brillantes to entertain Vivo fans and selfie lovers at SM Sucat

Top five premium global brand1 Vivo is bringing teen actress and vlogger Andrea Brillantes to entertain selfie lovers and mall goers during the next Vivo Mall Tour at SM Sucat in Paranaque on June 17 and 18.

Brillantes, who rose to fame after playing the titular role of Annaliza in the 2013 ABS-CBN primetime series, is set to regale Vivo fans and selfie enthusiasts on the second day of the mall show, Sunday.

Selfie-loving Vivo fans can learn a thing or two from Brillantes, who has over 2 million followers on Instagram alone, on how she maintains that stylish and vibrant look in her perfect selfies using the newest and most impressive Vivo V5s smartphone.

Since her debut in the children’s show Goin’ Bulilit, Brillantes has tackled more mature roles in both TV and movies, including her latest appearance in the remake of “Pangako Sa ‘Yo.”

The Sucat mall show is part of a months-long tour in different parts of the country that aims to bring the Vivo brand’s perfect selfie experience closer to the selfie-loving Filipinos through superb product offerings and quality entertainment fare.

Vivo’s dominance in the selfie-centric Philippine market is expected to be bolstered by the recent launch of the new V5s, which brandishes a 20-megapixel front camera with f2.0 aperture which allows capturing crystal clear and high-resolution selfies, and is supported by a 13-megapixel rear camera.

The V5s also touts the new Groufie technology, which allows landscape-panning effects in ‘groufies’ or group shots. This new feature allows up-close panoramic landscape panning effects in capturing a group without squeezing in or missing anyone. It also supports both portrait and landscape orientations so that no one is left behind in barkada shots.

It also has an improved Selfie Softlight that comes with an enhanced night mode for better-quality selfies taken at night, as well as the Beauty Face mode 6.0. Another new feature of the V5s is the App clone which allows users to log on to two different accounts using the same social media app.

Last month, the nationwide mall tour kicked off at SM Bicutan and SM Megamall, and continued at SM North Edsa SM. Sta Mesa, SM Taytay, SM Cauayan, and the latest at SM Valenzuela and Robinsons Iloilo last June 3 and 4. Details for upcoming mall shows will be revealed soon.
