Xiaomi together with World Vision Philippines, welcomed over 400 students from a school in Barangay Baseco


 Xiaomi, one of the global technology leaders, together with World Vision Philippines, welcomed over 400 students from a school in Barangay Baseco, Manila with back-to-school kits as they return to face-to-face classes this month.

The kits contained school supplies such as crayons, pencils, writing pads, among others as well as the latest Xiaomi products and gadgets including Xiaomi backpacks, pens, LCD writing tablets, and the recently launched RedmiBook 15 perfectly fitted for any school-related tasks.

The kit is intended to provide students all the tools they might need to excel while, at the same time, allowing them to unleash their creativity and talents.


“Keep dreaming and believing.” Xiaomi representative Tomi Adrias bids high-schoolers from a school in Barangay Baseco, Manila to keep reaching for their dreams and assures them Xiaomi and World Vision Philippines will always be there to help them succeed.


“The last two years has indeed been trying times for these students,” explained Tomi Adrias, Xiaomi Philippines’ Head of Marketing. “It has always been the mission of Xiaomi to be a brand that supports young people’s aspirations by equipping them with the latest technology available. ”

The donation marks the second year Xiaomi Philippines has worked with World Vision and is part of the brand’s continued advocacy to champion the further development of education in the country through technology that will help enhance and harness Filipino students’ digital prowess.

Principal Manolo G. Peña expresses gratitude to Xiaomi and World Vision Philippines for continuing to support high school students at Barangay Baseco in Manila, whose return to traditional classes was made memorable by the special donation. 

KM Leong, General Manager of Southeast Asia, Xiaomi International, said, “Xiaomi recognizes the importance of how technology plays a major role in every aspect of our lives including education therefore we would like to help aid the youth with their first steps into the digital era, further enhance their creativity, and let their imagination bloom with our technological assistance. Today, many innovative products and technologies have become very useful in assisting the youth to become even more creative than ever before, as it allows them to explore and create trials on many new things. Moreover, Xiaomi has continued to contribute our efforts to empower the young generation’s education, not only in the Philippines but also in other countries as well.”

XIAOMI ANNOUNCES DONATION OF USD 200,000 FOR THOSE AFFECTED BY TYPHOON RAI IN MALAYSIA AND PHILIPPINES



Xiaomi Corporation today announced that World Vision Philippines and Yayasan Food Bank Malaysia will each receive a donation of one hundred thousand US dollars from Xiaomi Foundation Limited, to support those affected by Typhoon Rai in the Philippines and Malaysia.

In the Philippines alone, based on the country's disaster council, more than 870,334 families or 23,380,167 individuals have been impacted by Typhoon Rai, and over 348,642 houses damaged. Hundreds and thousands of volunteers are working around the clock to help those affected and to provide survival essentials such as food and water, hygiene kits, kitchen and cooking sets, emergency shelter kits, and more. 

As a global company, we believe it is our duty to be responsible, and to give back to communities impacted by situations such as this.
