Spotify has teamed up with fitness pro and creator of INSANITY, Shaun T,alongside global expert on music for exercise, Dr. Costas Karageorghis, to predict the hottest fitness trends for 2015 – and the perfect soundtrackto get the most out of each and every workout.

With Shaun Ttipping Tabata, Cardio Dance, Insanity, Gymnastics Strength Training, and CrossFit as the top trends for 2015, Dr. Costas has applied a bespoke formula – based on beats per minute (BPM), rhythmic construction, melody and harmony and lyrical content– to each workout to determine the right tracks to keep gym-goers around the globe moving.

Following analysis of over 11 million global workout playlists on Spotify, which saw Meghan Trainor’s All About That Bass named as the most streamed workout song globally, followed by Eminem’s ‘Till I Collapse and Katy Perry’s Dark Horse, Dr. Costas playlists have been compiled to create the ultimate workout partners.

CrossFit is a workout ‘melting pot’ that blends elements of powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting, gymnastics and athletics.

The science, explains Dr. Costas, is therefore about creating the perfect backdrop: “Accordingly, the music is not used in a synchronous mode to direct the movement patterns; rather it plays asynchronously (or in the background) to enhance the training environment.The music should not be particularly loud given the internal sense of rhythm and stream of the trainer’s verbal instructions required to master the high-intensity movements involved. This is another mid-tempo playlist (average of 113 bpm) that creates an ideal sonic backdrop.”

"Taken 3" landed number 1 at the US Box-Office at $40.4 million!

“TAKEN 3” OPENS JANUARY 14 IN (PHILIPPPINES) CINEMAS



Undisputedly the world’s most well-loved father and protector, the latest Liam Neeson (as Bryan Mills) starrer “Taken 3” from its highly successful franchise landed number one at the US box-office this weekend at $40.4 million with his particular set of skills – love for family and love for hunting down those who tried to take his family.

 “Taken “3 sees Bryan facing his biggest challenge ever, as he deals with the aftershocks of his ex-wife’s murder, while evading pursuit from several law enforcement agencies, hunting down the real killers, and most of all, protecting his daughter Kim. “What makes TAKEN 3 a quintessential Taken movie is that, at its heart, it’s still about Bryan Mills doing everything in his power to save his family,” says Neeson. “That’s why these films resonate with a global audience, because at their core, they are about the love and sanctity of family and the lengths we’ll go to protect that.” Olivier Megaton’s return to the director’s chair for “Taken 3” was welcome news to the cast.



 “Olivier is phenomenally efficient and proficient with the camera. He always had multiple cameras working simultaneously, and that’s exciting,” says Liam Neeson. “He’s been able to not only maintain and expand upon Luc Besson’s vision, but bring his own unique touches to the franchise. He marries relentless action with true character and heart.” Megaton was always on the move, which the cast recognized at the end of the shoot by gifting him with his own director’s chair–which he had never used during production. “I’d never even seen it before, and the chair was still in the plastic bag from the factory,” he remembers.

 Megaton elected to shoot “Taken 3” on 35mm film with anamorphic lenses, eschewing the digital format preferred by most of today’s filmmakers. “Everybody wants to shoot digital today, but I decided to go back to something more organic and to shoot on film,” he explains. “Movies today are losing that special quality available only with film.” Unlike the first two stories, “Taken 3” is set entirely in Los Angeles, giving the new film a very different look from its predecessors. “Everybody knows L.A., but seeing it through French eyes and a French sensibility is totally different. We choose different locations, and we shot the stunts differently,” notes Megaton.

 “Taken 3” opens January 14 in the Philippines from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

City of Dreams is being developed by Melco Crown (Philippines) Resorts Corporation and is a joint venture of Macau casino giant Melco and SM-led Belle Corp.

City of Dreams will have a grand launch this February 2015. See you there!

Bohol is a top-notch tourist destination this 2015.





Philippines has many beautiful beaches that tourists want to explore, and Bohol is a must to visit this 2015. Think of Panglao and its pristine white sand, and not to mention the Chocolate Hills. The province of Bohol shows how it survived the rubble through its launch the "Visit Bohol 2015" last January 9, at Glorietta Activity Center. The year-round tourism campaign aims to revitalize its image and by enticing more visitors to come visit Bohol.




Launched under the leadership of Gov. Edgar Chatto, “Visit Bohol 2015” seeks to position the province as a top-notch tourist destination with its amazing natural attractions and its friendly and honest people.

The tourism campaign kicked off via a three-day Bohol Travel Fair at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City, starting January 9 until January 11, 2015. Organized by the Bohol Provincial Tourism Council Inc. under Atty. Lucas Nunag, the travel fair gathered together all major players in the Bohol tourism sector with a single-minded objective of providing a strong boost to Bohol’s tourism industry.

“For years, Bohol has always been in the hearts of every Filipino, not only as an eco-cultural tourism landmark but as a home to a number of our country’s pride. As we felt how our kababayans share our grief during the devastating catastrophe that hit our province, we now feel the surge of support as we pave the road to recovery and come back in the tourism map. With Visit Bohol 2015, expect a much better and bolder Bohol – ready to welcome all of you to our beautiful province. We invite you to visit and be awed not just by the wonderful sites Bohol has to offer, but also by the endearing graciousness, hospitality and trustworthiness of Boholanos,” says Governor Chatto during the opening ceremonies of the Bohol Travel Fair.






The launch event, which was supposed to be held on December 8 to 10, 2014, was rescheduled due to super typhoon Ruby that slammed parts of the country. Now the campaign is going full blast and ready to entice residents and tourists to visit Bohol.

Bohol is known for its awe-inspiring “Chocolate Hills,” rustic and centuries-old churches in Baclayon and Loboc, the ever-lovable “tarsier,” and of course, the never-ending smiles and hospitable culture of its people. Aside from that, Bohol boasts of having some of the best white-sand beaches in the world like those in Panglao and Anda, and is fast gaining ground as a top eco-cultural tourism spot because of its numerous mystical cave sites, serene rivers, enchanting waterfalls and mangroves, spellbinding marine sanctuaries and diving sites, and adventure-oriented attractions.

“Our dream is to make Bohol a tourism superpower and top holiday destination. With the help of our partners and other significant stakeholders from the public and private sectors, we believe this is
achievable,” adds Governor Chatto.

Other partners for “Visit Bohol 2015” include the United States Agency for International Development through its Advancing Philippine Competitiveness Project (USAID-COMPETE), the Department of Tourism (DOT), the United Nations-World Tourism Organization (UN-WTO) and the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), plus local tourism businesses, Ms. Gloria Steele, USAID Mission Director for the Philippines, and DOT Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr., who is also one of the keynote speakers, are among the many dignitaries at the event.

For the Bohol Travel Fair, Bohol also partnered with AirAsia, the leading budget airline in the region, as its exclusive airline partner. Aquabest lands supply agreement with select SM malls




Aquabest the country's premier water franchise has landed agreements to supply water to tenants of select SM Malls.

To date the company would be supplying the water requirements of mall tenants in 24 SM malls which include SM North Edsa and SM Fairview. It is also set to supply to other SM malls all over Luzon and Cagayan de Oro in the coming months. "We are pleased with the supply contracts we signed since they would not only benefit our company but also our franchisees to whom we are farming out part of the mall's supply requirements. We look at this development as a vote of confidence in our strategy of delivering the best quality product with added value for our customers" says Carson Tan the company's CEO.

 To meet its supply commitments the company is opening strategically located production facilities in Metro Manila some of which are housed in SMDC property developments. His Holiness Pope Francis Papal visit to Manila this January 2015





Where were you when Pope John Paul II visited Manila in 1995?  I remember waving at him near UST, there were so many people surrounded the pope that it was nearly impossible to get a glimpse of him. But good vibes and bliss were everywhere during that time, the world stopped for a moment. Manila felt blessed and so were the filipinos.

January 2015 marks the year in which His Holiness Pope Francis, will en route his apostolic trip to the Philippines with the goal of encountering Filipino families from all over the region. In support of the Pope’s advocacy, SM Lifestyle Entertainment Inc. (SMLEI) together with the entire SM Group, will have the Mall of Asia Arena as the venue for the papal visit on January 16, 2015.

With its capacity to house over 15,000 guests, Mall of Asia Arena is a fitting venue for the Pope’s monumental visit. Liam Neeson is back for the action packed "Taken 3"

BARRELS OF NO-HOLDS-BARRED ACTION SEQUENCE IN “TAKEN 3”


Everyone is clamoring for the 3rd installment of Taken, after watching 1 and 2. The movie has made Liam Neeson the action star that he is right now. The plot and twists of Taken has made me more excited to watch for the 3rd installment.

                Like a big typhoon, the action never stops in the third installment of the blockbuster franchise “Taken” that cemented Liam Neeson as cinema’s newest and most unexpected action hero.  “Taken 3” brings Liam Neeson’s character Bryan Mills to the extreme as his particular set of skills is pushed to the edge when his reconciliation with his ex-wife Lenore (Famke Janssen) is tragically cut short when she is brutally murdered.  Consumed with rage, and framed for the crime, he goes on the run to evade the relentless pursuit of the CIA, FBI and the police. For one last time, Mills must use his “particular set of skills,” to track down the real killers, exact his unique brand of justice, and protect the only thing that matters to him now – his daughter Kim (Maggie Grace).


             
                The world will once again cheer and root for the overprotective father, Mills, whose skills, forged through years of covert ops – continue to be put to the test long after his retirement from the CIA.  TAKEN 3 sees Bryan facing his biggest challenge ever, as he deals with the aftershocks of his ex-wife’s murder, while evading pursuit from several law enforcement agencies, hunting down the real killers, and most of all, protecting his daughter Kim.

                “What makes TAKEN 3 a quintessential Taken movie is that, at its heart, it’s still about Bryan Mills doing everything in his power to save his family,” says Neeson.  “That’s why these films resonate with a global audience, because at their core, they are about the love and sanctity of family and the lengths we’ll go to protect that.”

                Neeson elaborates on the films’ careful mix of action and drama: “Even though Bryan Mills is a guy with a ‘particular set of skills,’ he’s also a kind of everyman. People identify with his love of family. Parents will do anything for their kids and they see that in Bryan. For all his faults, he still is a very devoted father who’ll do anything for his child. But I think audiences also enjoy the fact that he bucks the system and doesn’t trust anyone in authority. And if he has to break the law, then he does.
                “The underlying stories in the Taken films are solid,” Neeson continues.  “We’ve tried to avoid doing anything in excess just to excite an audience. The triggers for that action have always been very strong. And it’s, of course, about Bryan Mills defending his family and protecting them, against all odds. You have that bedrock of a very stable relationship that’s being tested all the time. So once you have that base in place and audiences believe in that charge of love – especially between Bryan and his daughter Kim – you can take the action anywhere you want.”

That being said, Neeson notes that he enjoys the films’ non-stop action and the physicality of the role of Bryan Mills.  In terms of thrills, TAKEN 3 is the biggest Taken yet.  Highlights include lightning-fast fight sequences, an incredible freeway chase – and the film’s overall relentless pacing.



                “Making a movie is like solving a puzzle, like a Rubik’s cube,” adds director Olivier Megaton.  “At first, you have no idea how to attack these things. You have to figure out every element on almost every shot. If you try to be too clever, it’s too complex. So you look for simpler solutions. But in the end, everything clicks.”

                “Taken 3” opens Jauary 14 nationwide in cinemas across the Philippines from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

The truth behind the #DongYanwedding massive cake


So much has been said and done for the enchanting  #DongYanwedding, let alone for their  massive  cake, which created quite a stir in the social network.  The 12 ft 3D, 5 tiered wedding cake was the groom's concept and was beautifully perfected by Goldilocks. Almost everyone speculated that the couple paid a whooping php7 million for the cake alone.
