CONVERSE x WINNIE HARLOW





The final installment of the Converse Forever Chuck series dives deep into Chucks, from the Runway to the Streets. Paying homage to two of the biggest fashion hubs in the world, London and Paris, the video dives deep into Chuck Taylor’s iconic influence on global fashion.



Hosted by international model Winnie Harlow who was born in Toronto on July 27, 1994. She
was diagnosed with vitiligo at aged four, a condition made widely known by Michael Jackson.

The video who was directed by award-winning filmmaker Karim Huu Do, explores the latest trends in high-low styling that pairs corner thrift shop finds with haute couture. Speaking with ground-breaking leaders within the street style scene, Harlow brings viewers into the forefront of trend-driving fashion movements in London and Paris. The video will also feature cameos from some moguls in the fashion industry who have come to embrace Chuck Taylor as part of their style, including Gucci Gang, Jeremy Egry of Etudes Studio, Sarah Andelman (founder of street style mecca Colette) and Emma Hope Allwood of Dazed.

The global store chain, now has over 60,000 stores in 17 countries, and is the largest convenience retailer in the world.

Today, Philippine Seven Corporation (PSC), the country licensee of 7-Eleven, celebrates another milestone as  everyone’s favorite convenience store opened its 2000th branch.

The latest 7-Eleven store opened today March 8 at the LV Locsin Building, 6752 Makati Avenue, Legazpi Village, Makati.




Though a global brand, 7-Eleven adapts to the needs of their customers and their community locally. From opening their first store in 1984, 7-Eleven has truly come a long way and has grown to become a leading innovator in its field by continuously providing the needs of Filipinos while also introducing new products and services. This year, PSC aims to open 412 more stores. With their continued growth, PSC will continue to innovate with their products and services. As part of their 2,000th store celebration, 7-Eleven launched a new promo where customers can get Justice League Chibi Pouches via CLiQQ Rewards.


All they need to do is purchase Php 100 worth of products to get one Chibi e-stamp. Customers can get a pouch where they can choose from several designs including fan favorites such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and The Justice League when they collect 10 Chibi e-stamps.

 Up to 50 customers can also win Justice League Chibi mini figures, and 10 lucky winners of the Chibi E-raffle will be flown to Macau to experience Batman Dark Flight in Studio City Macau.





But the celebrations won’t stop there! Our reliable kapitbahay held a concert with the theme “Tuloy Po Kayo” last March 8 at the BGC Amphitheatre as a way to thank its customers for all the support they have given.1




The “Tuloy Po Kayo” theme is a reference to how 7-Eleven aims to be a great kapitbahay whose doors will always be open to people. Some of the Pinoy bands and musical acts that performed were Moonstar88, Gracenote, Imago, Ransom Collective and Bamboo.

Readers Digest reveals the winners of the prestigious Readers Digest Trusted Brands 2017 Awards


When I am doing my grocery or is buying anything at the mall. I always look for the Readers Digest Trusted Brand seal. It guarantees that what Im buying is of good quality and earned the trust of Readers Digest. It is that time of the year when Reader’s Digest (RD) Trusted Brands awards and recognize the brands and services Filipinos patronized.

Reader’s Digest (RD), one of the longest-running and most read print publications in the world, today revealed the winners of the prestigious Readers Digest Trusted Brands 2017 Awards at an exclusive ceremony held March 7, 2017 at the Marco Polo Hotel in Ortigas, Pasig.




Now on its 19th year, the Trusted Brands Survey has become a benchmark in the industry for recognizing the brands and services Filipinos trust, above all others. It also honors the country’s most trusted personalities with the TV news Presenter, Radio News Presenter, and Entertainment/Variety Show Presenter category.

The award goes to Ryan Agoncillo for the Most Trusted Entertainment Presenter. Mr Mike Enriquez for the Most Trusted Radio Presenter while Ms. Jessica Soho bags the Gold Award for the Most Trusted News Presenter. 






This year the RDTB awards added six more categories, to reflect the changes in the market and recognize the new brands that have made an impact on the consumers buying habits. Among the new categories added to the Trusted Brands awards are Bakery/Pastry Shop; Dog Food; Remittance Center; Pawn shop; Coffee Shop/ Café; and Optical Shop.



“For nearly two decades, we have been surveying consumers in major markets across Asia such as the Philippines, to ask them about the brands they believe and expect to provide premium value and exceptional service,” notes Ms. Sheron White, Group Retail and Advertising Sales Director Reader’s Digest Asia Pacific. 

“These respondents are not only composed of Readers Digest subscribers but also of random consumers and we rely on their answers as to which brands deserve their loyalty, support and most importantly their trust. Not only have we learned which brands consumers follow, but more importantly how important trust is in the hearts of people across Asia.”

“As such, being included in this prestigious list is a huge endorsement and one the winners should be very proud of,” Sheron  added.


TRUST AND INFLUENCE 
While certain brands sign famous celebrities to create a buzz about their products, the recipients of the Trusted Brand awards have gotten the endorsement of the most important people of all—their loyal consumers.

Much like loyalty, trust is something not easily measured by trends or likes on social media. Brands have to work for it for many years and goes hand-in-hand with a good reputation and delivery of customers’ expectations. It emerges out of the very best consumer experiences, and is achieved only by truly understanding your customers and not by mentions and hashtags.

“Trust is that emotion that helps us in making our final decisions whether we are conscious of it or not—it is that intangible quality that we associate with reliability and integrity. Whether it is a product or service, trust is what reassures us that we are making the right choice,” said Sheron.

For the 2017 Trusted Brand Survey, Readers Digest commissioned global market research company CATALYST.  Approximately 8,000 individuals were selected across 5 of Asia’s key markets such as the Philippines, HongKong, Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan.

The survey covers 50 categories of products and services across a wide range of industries.

Around 1200 respondents were surveyed in the Philippines.  Half were subscribers to Reader's Digest, while the remainder were selected to reflect the demographics of the general population.

The final ranking in each product category were obtained by multiplying the total number of votes for a brand with its average score for six qualitative characteristics. For statistical accuracy and to ensure results were compiled in an objective manner using proven methodology, the data was weighted to reflect the population distribution of participants.



PLATINUM AND GOLD AWARDEES
Platinum Trusted Brand Awards were given to brands that performed exceptionally, winning their category with a score that vastly outpolled their nearest competitor.
