MySlim and Miss Earth Philippines advocates of Natural Beauty

For the longest time people have associated beauty with a slim and slender figure, all you have to do  is look at all the women featured in the magazine covers each month.

In a recent article I read, however, it seems the perception of beauty actually differs in different countries. In a social experiment done to try and understand what different world cultures think is beautiful. Content marketing agency was commissioned to reach out to graphic designers around the world. The Fractl team sent a stock image of a woman posing in her underwear to designers in 18 countries — from the UK to Syria — with the message--"Photoshop her form. The idea is to Photoshop and retouch this woman to make her more attractive to the citizens of your country."

This was the original picture found on Shutterstock.

Fractl sent the image to freelance graphic designers with the message, "Photoshop her form. The idea is to Photoshop and retouch this woman to make her more attractive to the citizens of your country."

The results were both surprising and astonishing, while some of the artists made little changes, other designers made the model in the picture look like a completely different person. For example, China and Italy photoshopped image so thin the model was almost unrecognizable, while those from  Spain and Colombia made only minor changes to her figures keeping most of her curves.

Here's China and the Philippines' take-- Not to curvy and not to thin--just Slim--which I think is the more healthier look dont you agree?

Now, we are all aware of just how this generation has become so concerned about their looks partly because of social media which sometimes dictates what is acceptable and what is not.

In the world of instant gratification, fad diets, liposuction and the Kardashians, everyone still wants to be slim, but not many are willing to make the adjustments necessary in terms of diet and exercise to do it right.  Given the opportunity and resources, most people desperate to get slim won’t even think twice about having liposuction.  Those who don’t have resources scan the net for the next crash diet or miracle diuretic.

But on the other hand, social media can also be inspiring, as you can be motivated to live a healthier life and eventually lead to a better looking you.

This generation is  starting to eat  healthier and living a more active lifestyle than ever before. Even if fastfoods are everywhere, and only a handful of organic restaurants could be found in a mall or in a food park.  Choosing low carbs, checking out labels in supermarkets,  and embracing a well-balanced protein meal is the norm.

More people are enrolling themselves to the gym, allotting 2 hours of exercising everyday and sticking to one supplement that would help them achieve the ideal body and weight.

Well at a recent mySlim event featuring  Miss Philippines Earth beauty beauty contestants, I guess the photo above proves our perception of beauty--Slim is Sexy and Slim is definitely in.

mySlim recently hosted an event for the media featuring some of the early favorites to win this year’s Miss Philippines Earth beauty pageant to promote its own advocacy of health and wellness.

The candidates all agree that MySlim together with the right diet and exercise has helped them achieve a more healthier figure in time for the Grand Coronation night happening on July 15 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Of the 10 candidates we met the ones that impressed me the most were--- Miss Manila because of her wit and beauty and Miss Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental because of her simplicity and charm.  Miss Earth has long symbolized beauty with purpose.  It is a pageant that uses beauty to raise awareness on serious environmental issues.

"To most people, slimming is about looking more beautiful, but the makers of mySlim believe that beauty achieved by less than healthy means is not worth achieving.  mySlim is a slimming solution with purpose, it helps you get healthy so you can be beautiful.Beauty and slimming are two concepts that people very typically associate with each other, what’s sad is that fewer and fewer people consider good health as connected to either of those two words," says MySlim Eric Amigos.

mySlim is a slimming product that works in tandem with healthy lifestyle choices to create a slimmer and healthier you.  mySlim’s scientifically proven formula is a potent mix of Yerba Mate and L-Carnatine.

Yerba mate is a natural slimming agent that promotes faster fat burning, and L -Carnatine is a metabolic booster that help physical performance allowing you to maximize the benefits of exercise.

mySlim helps those who help themselves, if you are willing to eat right, and to exercise regularly. mySlim will help you reach your fitness and beauty goals faster.  Just as Miss Earth is about managing the environment in a sustainable manner, mySlim is not just about weight loss, but responsible and sustainable weight management.

Robbie’s Deli in a Hurry: The First vending machine wall with a kitchen in the Philippines

When I was in UAE and worked for a year.  I witnessed vending machine dispensing anything you could imagine (from sim cards, perfumes, makeup palette, nail polish,  gadgets and even gold!) But since I associate vending machine with snacks and canned sodas. I was surprised that there's an automat that dispense healthy food too. That was good news for a foodie like me.

I prayed that someday someone would invest in a vendo machine dispensing healthy meals ( organic power bars, pudding, and or a teriyaki steak bar) just like the one I used to dropped coins in Abu Dhabi.  They also have bottles of naturally pressed fruit juices like kiwi, papaya, and a mixed of fruit drinks. The food was tasty and healthy. The price is reasonable enough for a pack lunch of your choices.  I thought we should have those in our country. Until I got an invite to attend Robbie's Deli in a Hurry, SM Clark Pampanga launch.

Robbie's Deli in a Hurry is  the first ever vending machine wall with a kitchen in the Philippines at SM Clark Pampanga.  The launch on June 30 was attended by RDF’s CEO Robert H. Lo and partner Chef Sau del Rosario, RDF's executives and bloggers from Manila and Pampanga.

It was fun ordering from the vending food wall. I tried their food and it was honestly good and freshly cooked. You could see how the food was prepared. There are many choices from easy cooked/fried food to gourmet. I ordered one gourmet at php200. The gourmet variand has vegetable for a side and a cup of fried rice. Not bad for a gourmet food.

There are many choices from Robbie’s: On-the-Go, Lunch Box and Gourmet. On-the-Go features quick yet filling snacks and dishes like Pan de Embutido, Quezo de Pan de Ham and Pork Tonkatsu with Egg, all for PhP 50.  The Lunch Box line includes meals like Barbecue and Sisig, which range from PhP 75 to PhP 100.  Gourmet on the other hand, boasts of special dishes like Honey Glazed and Cheesy Beef Stew from Chef Sau del Rosario's menu.

Cheesy Beef Stew

They even offered desserts. I ordered one Leche Flan, it was amazingly good at only php50. It was creamy delicious and surprisingly not sweet. You should try it.

Leche Flan

A fun and innovative dining experience has taken Kapampangan foodies by storm with the launch of Robbie’s Deli in a Hurry, the first ever vending machine wall with a kitchen in the Philippines.

Conceptualized and operated by RDF Feed, Livestock and Foods Inc., the quality fresh meats manufacturer based in Pampanga, Robbie’s Deli in a Hurry features an impressive automated food wall that serves freshly prepared meals daily.

3 (three)easy steps to order from the wall

1.   A diner has to buy tokens at the store to use on the vending machines which is equivalent to PhP 25 each.

2.   After getting the tokens,  choose the glass compartment or shelf of your chosen meal.

3.    Push the button to open the glass compartment and enjoy your freshly-cooked hot meat from the wall.

Inspired by the need for working professionals to have a better dining experience without the long, slow-moving queues, Robbie’s Deli in a Hurry aims to provide tasty and freshly prepared food at a much faster and convenient pace, and which can be bought and served in a fun and novel way.

RDF’s CEO Robert H. Lo

RDF’s CEO Robert H. Lo noticed the potential of the vending machine wall food service for the convenience and speed of service of vending machine cafes would very much suit the pace of the diners, particularly working professionals, in the Philippines.

“We at RDF understand the need of dining customers to have access to good food at the shortest amount of time.  With Robbie’s Deli in a Hurry, customers can enjoy high quality food that is freshly prepared daily at price points that suit their budget,” said Lo.

Budget per person php100 to php200

For a fresh, fast and fun dining experience, visit Robbie’s Deli in a Hurry at SM City Clark in Pampanga.  Open 24/7.

Bangkarera 2017 celebrates the value of sustainable Philippine seas

The coastal city of Dumaguete was the site of the 2nd Pioneer National Bangkarera, as part of Republic Chemical Industries, Inc. (RCI)’s 60th anniversary celebration. From May 12 to May 14, 2017, thousands gathered along the city’s main thoroughfare, Rizal Boulevard, to catch the action as 40 teams of fishing boats made up of 144 entries from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao braved the challenging waters to register impressive times.

The competition had four categories: the 16HP (Open Category), 7HP (Open Category), 7HP (Angat Sa Dagat Category) and the Paddle Boat (Open Category).

John Spakowski II, RCI Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, said that they were “inspired about helping people with the way they do their living and at the same time use our products to protect and preserve the environment”.

Republic Chemical Industries is the maker of Pioneer Epoxy bonds, paints and sealants. The race celebrates fishing as a dignified source of livelihood as well as display the high quality of Pioneer adhesives--the preferred brand of the fishermen-participants.

OCEAN CONSERVATION EFFORTS
As part of the festivities, Pioneer Adhesives Foundation, Inc. (PAFI), led by Executive Director Martina Spakowski, collaborated with the Siliman University Marine Labs to conduct the Reef Fix project in Dumaguete.

The Reef Fix project is part of “Our Earth, Our Responsibility”, PAFI’s environmental campaign that responds to the growing harmful effects of global warming on our environment. During the Reef Fix project in Dumaguete, 10 volunteer divers participated and dove into the sea of Siliman Beach to remove the damaging Drupella and Coralliophilia from the coral reef.

The project has also initiated activities to repair 4,600 corals as part of sustained efforts to protect marine sanctuaries in Puerto Princesa, Boracay, Alaminos and Dumaguete City to improve fish catch. Some 11,200 mangroves were also planted by about 1,815 volunteers.
