Red Ribbon introduces the country's Most Popular Toddler, Scarlet Snow as their newest celebrity ambassador

I am a fan of Child celebrity Scarlet Snow. The celebrity daughter to Ms. Vicky Belo and Hayden Kho. I never missed any instagram post from this adorable kid. I have watched her ig stories and videos everyday, she never failed to put a smile on everyone's faces. I am glad that Red Ribbon chose her as their celebrity kid ambassador.

Red Ribbon recently introduced Scarlet Snow Belo-Kho as its newest brand ambassador - her first major endorsement outside of her family’s Belo brand. The social media darling, accompanied by her doctor parents Hayden Kho and Vicky Belo, is also the newest Rainbow Chaser who is captivated by Red Ribbon’s surprisingly colorful & chocolatey birthday cake, the Rainbow Dedication Cake.

The Instagram sensation, with a whopping 2 million followers and counting, is set to share some color and joy, just like Red Ribbon’s colorful birthday cake, in her newest commercial with her fellow Rainbow Dedication Cake-loving cartoon friends, Don and the Rainbow Chasers.

“We really wanted to make the Rainbow Dedication Cake the best for kids, loading it with fun color, sweetness and surprises, everything that a child looks for in a birthday cake. Now we’re very happy to see that it has become a kiddie favorite, approved even by our newest Rainbow Chaser, Scarlet Snow,” shared Kent Mariano, Red Ribbon marketing head.

Best birthday cake for kids
With its cute and colorful toppers, delicious chocolatey flavor, and its rainbow surprise on the inside, the Rainbow Dedication Cake has quickly turned into a favorite among kids, including Scarlet Snow.

The Rainbow Dedication Cake has become a staple at birthday parties because of the fun, burst of colors it brings. Sure to put a bright smile on a child’s face, it is topped with rainbow-colored lollipops and multi-colored candies, and is loaded with a surprisingly colorful layered cake inside.

Chocolate-loving kids are also crazy for the cake’s rich milk chocolate icing and chocolate rosette toppings. They are also in for a sweet surprise as they take a bite of the rainbow-colored chiffon to find that it’s still their favorite chocolate flavor.

Capping off the sweet treats provided by this delicious cake is the sweetest personalized dedications on the cake that the kids receive from their parents, relatives, or friends who have chosen to show a little bit more care for the birthday celebrant by getting them their favorite Rainbow Dedication Cake.

Head over to your nearest Red Ribbon store and surprise the li’l one with the best birthday cake for the kid’s best birthday ever!

Timeless Designs 12th Goldilocks Intercollegiate Cake Decorating Challenge

Its that time of the year again when the most creative cake decorateurs from all over the Philippines face off for the most prestigious and perhaps sweetest competition of the year--The Goldilocks Intercollegiate Cake Decorating Challenge (ICDC).

From almost a hundred schools, only six made it to the live kitchen stage finale held at the SM Mega Fashion Hall last weekend. They include University of Batangas, Pangasinan State University, Holy Cross of Davao College, and the Western Institute of Technology Iloilo, and defending champions Saint Anne College of Lucena.

For 2018, Goldilocks has gone back to the very heart and essence of the competition, which is the cake itself and what it represents,” explained Goldilocks Marketing Director Cherry Caluya. “Cakes are meant to celebrate sweet moments and special memories, which all become timeless. We have therefore made this the theme for this year, asking our competing students to interpret timeless aspects through their designs,” she emphasized.

Another big change this year for the ICDC was that the teams first needed to shop for some items and the theme of the contest was announced during the finale as well.

The competition was fierce, and as the clock wound down with around five minutes left, the audience roared with applause, cheering on the teams to add the finishing touches to their cakes.

I was really hoping Saint Anne College of Lucena would be successful in defending their title but after the last piece of topping was placed and the final bell sounded-- everyone knew it was going to be a tough decision for the judges.

Emerging victorious from this dazzling display of creativity and teamwork was the Lyceum of the Philippines Laguna; which previously took the category prize for the “Tribute to the Present” and “Tribute to the Future” themed cakes, before being awarded as the overall champion. With this feat, the talented students not only won considerable prizes for their school, but earned the right to take the travelling trophy back with them to the proud province Southeast of Manila.

This is the 12th time that the ICDC has been held, and every year the stakes are raised higher. The skill-level of the participants has consistently increased, thus elevating the contest into one of the most anticipated events for culinary arts programs.

As always, the teams this year vied for more than the just prestige, but specifically a baking lab worth Php 250,000 for their school and Php 20,000 worth of Goldilocks gift certificates. After a pre-selection round wherein almost 100 schools submitted entries, the other schools that qualified for the live kitchen-stage were the University of Batangas, Saint Anne College of Lucena, Pangasinan State University, Holy Cross of Davao College, and the Western Institute of Technology Iloilo, which won the category prize for the “Tribute to the Past” theme.

Being the country’s number one bakeshop for over five decades, Goldilocks is certainly the most qualified to stage an ICDC-style competition, providing the materials and ingredients along with co-sponsor Avoset Whip N’ Cream. Renowned chef and ICDC judge Jackie Ang Po noted that “for the past 12 years, Goldilocks and Avoset continue to reinvent this competition and make it fresh. They have really created something that Culinary Arts students aspire for, and competing on the kitchen stage at this level teaches the students so many lessons that go beyond classroom work.” Also serving as judges were exemplary pastry chef Penk Ching, Patrick Tong of Avoset, and Mille Dizon from the SM Group.

While the ICDC was the culminating activity of the day, loads of fun and educational activities were staged throughout the venue. There were numerous hands-on demonstrations and workshops by professional pastry-chefs, a Goldilocks decorate-your-cake (DYC) corner, amazing cake displays, and a chance to see Goldilocks endorser Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo, who graced the activity as the special guest.

Going Keto? How Minola Premium Coconut Oil and the Ketogenic Diet can help you lose those excess pounds fast

I was at my heaviest at 145lbs, that was also the time I was at my worst. I know some of you would think I’m exaggerating, but standing at just 5’2 and being used to just 100lbs it made me feel really bad—and although I wasn’t complaining, I could feel that my knees certainly were.

I could hear my knees pop whenever I would sit for longer than an hour and would have difficulty standing up. I had difficulty of breathing climbing stairs going to work. My face became rounder, my legs ballooned, my feet were swollen.

I would pinch them every now and then back then I thought it was cute. That was a long time ago, back when there was no social media to destroy your self esteem, or internet to check if all the food I’ve been eating was still good for me.  Back then diet meal plans were scarce and only nutritionists and doctors had access to them.

I just relied on books and magazines. Although I was raised to a family who has been eating veggies, fish and fruits. All the healthy ones. But my diet changed when I got married and had kids.

After feeling all the fatigue and upsizing my wardrobe several times (from small to medium then large).  I decided to consult an orthopedic (because of leg pain), an endocrinologist (to give me a list of well-balanced food)  and a dermatologist (because my pimples were popping everywhere in my face) I admit, my eating habits during those times were killing me, slowly. I felt my heart was pumping like crazy. I felt sleepy all the time and worse I always lacked energy.

After the consultation and laboratory workups. My 3 physicians confirmed what I already knew—I really needed to change my diet and exercise. I was never given any meds except for leg pain.  I avoided soda until I could completely survive without them and just drank water.  I also steered clear of sugary food like cakes, donuts, white bread, ice cream and gave away the remaining powdered concentrate juices from our kitchen cabinet.  I also switched to brown sugar over refined white sugar and chose frying oil which was “good for the heart” with less cholesterol.

It was hard at first, but eventually I got my weight down to 108 lbs after months of dieting and exercise. Like I said, that was years ago, and eventually regained 12 more lbs, but I guess that's also because of my age.

I now weigh 120lbs about 5 lbs higher than my ideal weight, but shedding those 5 lbs has been very  tough and sometimes even if I skip meals and eat less and exercise I cant seem to shake off those remaining pounds.

So that’s why I’m still searching for a  diet that I could sustain  all the way to my senior years.

Recently, I attended an event about the Ketogenic Diet, which was sponsored by Minola Premium Coconut Oil.

The event was attended by guest speakers Dr. Fabian Dayrit, Professor of Chemistry from Ateneo de Manila, Theater Actress/Director Ms. Mae Paner aka Juana Change and Dr. Regina Banda from the Ketogenic Diet of the Philippines

Although I’ve read and heard a lot about the keto diet since its become the latest diet craze of celebrities, I never seriously considered it, until I listened to Mae Paner’s testimony. Mae aa as political activist Juana Change went from 275 lbs to 175 lbs, in a year. That is 100lbs off—the weight of an entire person—removed from her.

And if that doesn’t prove Keto’s effectivity, I don’t know what else will.

So now I’m slowly discovering a bunch of new foods (hello to more avocados) and getting ready for the 16 hour fasting to induce ketones on my body.

So what is Ketogenic diet and how it works?

Ketogenic diet is all about low-carb, moderate protein, high-fat diet that allows your body to burn fat for fuel rather than glucose. It means cutting out all sources of sugar and most carbohydrates and loading up on foods with high-fat contents.

Eat 10 percent of your calories from carbs, about 20 percent from protein, and 70 percent from healthy fats causes the liver to produce ketones, or byproducts of breaking down fat for energy, allowing your body to enter ketosis.

MCT Oil helps a lot and so does coconut oil from Minola Premium Cooking Oil. Because, Coconut Oil has zero transfat.

Minola Premium Coconut Cooking Oil helps make the heart healthy and immune system stronger. It is cholesterol free and is rich with lauric oil, the same substance found in mother’s milk.

Studies show that coconut oil's high fat content makes it a staple for keto dieters. Whether you use it in a salad dressing, frying your fish, or to saute your favorite cut of steak, coconut oil is a ketogenic mainstay.

The key here is to enjoy what you are eating and consult your doctor if you are going to embark on a new diet.

Everyone knows that women spend time, money and effort to make her hair,  her crowning glory, the center of attraction.  With the help of beauty tools available in the market. You can now blow dry, style your hair, curl it the way you want at the comfort of your home.

Nowadays, it takes a lot to be beautiful. Beauty trends change rapidly, which makes it a struggle for beauty enthusiasts to keep up. Skin care routines, make-up techniques, and other beauty hacks from celebrities and make-up artists are what women read up on lately. But little did we know, we are making a grave mistake by forgetting to take care of our crowning glory -- our hair.

Hair is what stands out the most when seen at a glance. It boosts self-esteem and it speaks volumes as to how a woman will carry herself, to how she will go about her day, so a good way to start is with a great brush.  The new and improved brush design makes brushing your hair a breeze. It even has super cute designs, so you can’t help but keep a brush by your side at all times.

The brush itself isn’t just for show, it’s great for your hair as well. It has special bristles called Intelliflex® bristles, bristles so smart that it knows when it needs to be firm and when it needs to be flexible. So when the brush finds a knot in your hair, it will glide right through the knot, giving you a pain-free experience and leaves you with your hair on your scalp and not on your brush.
