Jack ‘n Jill Cream-O held its 2nd Cream-O Flix Fest: Unlock the Irresistible at SM By the Bay





Jack ‘n Jill Cream-O held its 2nd  Cream-O Flix Fest: Unlock the Irresistible. The event "picnic-style" was held at Central Park, SM By the Bay. I finally watched Lego Batman Movie with friends and enjoyed the snack provided and some Cream-o biscuits available during the launch.


Jack ‘n Jill Cream-O brought another memorable outdoor cinema experience in a colourful arcade-themed entertainment park with the second year of Cream-O Flix Fest: Unlock the Irresistible.




The chocolate cookie brand welcomed everyone to a cozy picnic-style area at Central Park, SM By the Bay, where visitors enjoyed an entertaining screening of Hollywood movies.

Creamoholics of all ages enjoyed the action-packed animation of Lego Batman Movie. They also watched futuristic quests in X-Men Days of Future Past, and reveled in the amazing adventure of young Peter Parker in Spider-Man Homecoming.



The day wasn’t just about movies as special activities were created for everyone to enjoy; Creamoholics had a blast showcasing their creativity at the Cream–Ofied Creations booth where they decorated their favorite Cream-O Vanilla, Choco Fudge, Deluxe, Crinkles, Chocolate Chip, Cookies ‘n Cream and Choco ‘n Berries cookies in four easy steps: choose, dip, sprinkle, and drizzle.


This create-your-own-Cream-O activity was well received by guests. Consumers also took photos of their cookie creations and shared it online at the Cream-O Flatlay booth.

The crowd was also treated to engaging game booths where they brought out their playful sides and won prizes. Cream-O Warp Pipes and Claw the Cream-O challenged their competitive skills on getting treats using claw mechanism; while Cream-O Movie Combo Trivia Game tested their knowledge on popular movies.


Cream-O made the event more memorable as guests were serenaded with live music performances in between screenings.

Lucky Creamoholics also took home Instax Mini Cameras and Kidzania Tickets from the raffle draws.

I chanced upon Hokkaido's cult favorite BAKE Cheese Tart in Singapore. The line was looong but I patiently queued in after I got a sampler taste of that 2 cheesy, sweet and fluffy tarts. As they were generous with the samplers. I bought home 2 boxes to which I checked in.



When I got home I immediately checked on it and it has the same texture and cheesy flavor that I loved.

Essilor Vision Foundation and the Integrated Philippine Association of Optometrists. Inc. (IPAO) join hands to provide vision care to Marawi


Essilor Vision Foundation and the Integrated Philippine Association of Optometrists. Inc. (IPAO) join hands to provide vision care solutions to Marawi’s communities in need by 2020.



When the armed conflict in Marawi erupted last year, the residents were forced to leave their homes and livelihood to avoid being involved in the chaos; many of them were wounded and lost loved ones during the escape. Now that the battle has finally ceased, the citizens are faced with another concern: how will they start their new lives when all that remains are rumbles and ashes?




Rehabilitating Marawi will take months and maybe even years. In an effort to help restore the once beautiful and diversified communities, Essilor Vision Foundation (EVF) and The Integrated Philippine Association of Optometrists, Inc. (IPAO), created an advocacy campaign entitled, Marawi 2020 with the aim of bringing eye care to the people in need, and ultimately to give them hope for a brighter, clearer tomorrow.

Marawi 2020 campaign is one of the many programs spearheaded by EVF, the philanthropic arm of Essilor, world leader in ophthalmic optics. EVF is committed to eliminating poor vision and its lifelong consequences, and to providing underprivileged people the opportunity to live a better life through better sight. Last year, EVF ASEAN also launched the Eye Can Succeed campaign in the Philippines, which helped over 10,000 senior high school students to perform better at school by providing free eye check-ups and prescription glasses to those in need. The foundation established in Singapore in 2014 also organizes charity events in neighbouring ASEAN countries such as Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam.




 “In our own little way, we aim to help the people of Marawi find hope despite everything that happened.  Through this advocacy campaign, we wish to boost people’s confidence in seeing life more clearly. Better vision in life lets them know that it is never too late to start anew, to brush off the ashes and hope for a brighter future,” shared Dr. Emelita Roleda, general manager of Essilor Philippines.

With the help of volunteer optometrists from IPAO, the campaign will provide all residents with free eye checks and corrective glasses, if needed. EVF and IPAO also aim to create sustainable access to vision care services by creating an Eye & Vision Clinic at the Department of Health (DOH) Hospital in Marawi City. Furthermore, the program aims to help local optometrists re-establish their practices by providing them livelihood to recover from their losses.

Starbucks Philippines today announced the expansion of the company’s industry-leading digital ecosystem with the launch of the Starbucks PH App, a mobile app providing a fast and convenient payment method for customers at more than 300 stores across the market.

The first coffee retailer to offer this innovation in the Philippines, the Starbucks® PH App integrates the popular Starbucks Card payment method and My Starbucks Rewards® on customers’ mobile devices.

Creed II stars Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone begin production today




Production begins today in Philadelphia on Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures (MGM) and Warner Bros. Pictures’ Creed II, starring Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone, reprising their roles of Adonis Creed and Rocky Balboa respectively. Creed II is the continuation of the Rocky saga and sequel to the 2015 critically acclaimed and crowd-pleasing 2015 hit Creed, which took in more than $170 million at the worldwide box office. Ryan Coogler (Black Panther), who directed the first film, returns to the franchise as an executive producer on Creed II. The new film is being directed by Steven Caple Jr., who helmed the acclaimed 2016 drama The Land.



“When I wrote and directed Creed, I wanted to tell a human story about a family from a new perspective, while also paying homage to the Rocky characters we’ve all grown up knowing and loving. I’ve known Steven was an amazing filmmaker since our days at USC film school together, so I can’t wait to see what he, Sly, Mike and Tessa bring to this next chapter,” said Coogler.

Caple Jr. said, “It's an honor to be a part of the franchise and work with such a thoughtful team. I got involved because I've always been a Rocky fan and I enjoy stories with heart and substance. But when Ryan put his touch on Creed I felt another level of connection to the franchise. It started to feel personal for many different reasons. This next Creed is a tale beyond the boxing ring and dives deep into family, legacy, and fears. I'm excited to share my view and collaborate with the talented cast and crew.”

“Ryan and Steven are voices for their generation and their shared vision for Creed has brought the Rocky franchise to an entirely new audience. We know audiences will continue to embrace the legacy that Sly created so many years ago,” said producer Irwin Winkler.


Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed. Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life. Facing an opponent with ties to his family’s past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring. Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing’s more important than family. Creed II is about going back to basics to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can’t escape your history.


Also reprising their roles from the first film are Tessa Thompson as Bianca, Phylicia Rashad as Mary Anne, Wood Harris as Tony 'Little Duke' Burton, and Andre Ward as Danny ‘Stuntman’ Wheeler. The new cast is rounded out with Florian “The Big Nasty” Munteanu as Viktor Drago, Dolph Lundgren returning to the role of Ivan Drago, and Russell Hornsby as Buddy Marcelle. Creed II will be distributed theatrically in the U.S. by MGM on November 21, 2018, and Warner Bros. Pictures will distribute the film internationally.


Caple Jr. directs from an original screenplay written by Stallone based on characters from the Rocky franchise. The film is produced by Irwin Winkler, Charles Winkler, William Chartoff, David Winkler, Kevin King-Templeton and Stallone. Coogler, Jordan and Guy Riedel will executive produce.


Collaborating with Caple Jr. is a creative team led by director of photography Kramer Morgenthau (Thor: The Dark World, Game of Thrones); production designer Franco Carbone (The Expendables, Billionaire Boys Club); costume designers Lizz Wolf (A Single Man, Dreamgirls); art director Jesse Rosenthal (Black Panther, Trumbo); fight coordinator Daniel Hernandez (Avengers: Infinity War, The Fate of the Furious); technical boxing advisor Robert Sale (Grudge Match, Ali); special effects coordinator Patrick White (Baby Driver, Deepwater Horizon) and VFX producer Crystal Dowd (Straight Outta Compton, Pitch Perfect 2). Filming will take place primarily in Philadelphia with additional locations in New Mexico.


Creed, directed by Coogler, was released by Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures and New Line Cinema in November 2015 and went on to garner many honors for Stallone, including a Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture, and an Academy Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role.

Montessori de San Juan partners with US-based STEM program for child-friendly engineering education




Back in 2009, a parent named Dori Roberts had a hard time finding an educational program to get her six- and eight-year-old started on engineering. The Virginian mother was also an educator specializing in math and science, and she quickly realized that there is a need for a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) program that is geared towards young children.



Where most parents would have just given up and enrolled their children in regular schools, Roberts saw opportunity. With her extensive background in STEM and a passion for teaching, she started Engineering for Kids (EFK), which is now one of the world’s most popular child-friendly STEM programs. It is franchised and implemented in 30 American States and in 30 other countries.

Montessori de San Juan, a local school that utilizes the latest in techniques in both traditional and progressive learning, recently partnered with EFK and is offering the after-school program as an extra-curricular activity to its students.


The program is offered to students four- to fourteen-years old, and features fun and interesting ways to present engineering concepts appropriate to each individual child. It goes beyond just classes by giving children opportunities to learn more about STEM through workshops, camps, and other events. Through these exercises, the children learn problem-solving, cooperation, critical thinking, and many other skills that will serve them well in the future.


MDS Principal Sandy Arellano, who has a Masters Degree in Education and is one of the country’s leading voices on integrated learning, believes that the EFK program will not only teach, but also inspire students. “The hands-on activities offered in EFK will foster their natural curiosity,” said Arellano. “Once that curiosity is activated, the students will continue to explore and develop their problem-solving, analytical, and applied knowledge skills.”

Currently, the EFK program is offered throughout kindergarten and junior high-school. It operates like a school club and is applied outside of regular school activities. The program runs for two quarters of the school year and is available for both students of MDS and those from other schools. The program costs P10,000, but MDS students may avail of the program for a discounted rate of P7,500.



Although the EFK program is not available for Senior High School Students, MDS offers top-rated tracks in Humanities, General Academics, and Accounting & Business Management for its Senior High curriculum.

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War Red Carpet Fan Event Admission Details




Marvel Studios and Marina Bay Sands are pleased to announce further details of the highly-anticipated red carpet fan event happening on the evening of 16th April, Monday.

The venue of the red carpet fan event is at the Event Plaza, located at the outdoor promenade overlooking the waters of Marina Bay.

While this event will be free and open to the public, due to venue capacity limitations, visitors and fans are required to register in person at Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Hall B, for a non-transferable wristband to gain access to the fan event. Registration will be on a first-come-first-served basis.



Fans will be able to start queuing when the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Hall B opens at 7:00am on Monday, 16 April. Photo ID, full name and contact number will be required during registration. Once registration is completed, a paper slip detailing admission time and entry points to the Event Plaza will be issued.

After registration, fans can head next door to Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Hall A, where they will get to enjoy film screenings of Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War; and concession stands selling food and beverage, before the Red Carpet Fan Event kicks off at Event Plaza. 




Important points to remember:
1.  Bring along your Photo ID (Passport for Philippine residents) to register in person at Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Hall B

2.  You can only register for yourself. Once issued, the wristbands are non-transferable and the organizers have the right to deny access for those with wristbands that have been transferred or tampered with.

3.  While there is no age limit, children aged 13 and below will be required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All parties need to be registered with wristbands. 

4.   Information on admission to the Event Plaza will be provided at the point of registration. 

5.  After registration, you can head to the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Hall A, for film screenings and interactive experiences available throughout the day. 

6.  There will be security and bag checks at both the expo hall and Event Plaza, so you are encouraged to travel light!

7.   Once you are in the Event Plaza, relax and wait for the cast to make an appearance. The red carpet event will kick off from 7:30pm.

8.   This will be a rain or shine event.
