FWD Life Philippines helps you Set For Tomorrow through protection plans

I recently attended FWD Life Philippines launch for the Set For Tomorrow protection plans last October 24 at the Praxis Makati. The FWD Life PH staff launched the protection plan through a Praxis board game  that let us all players throw dice and decide whether to invest/buy insurance.  As the game progresses, it also helps to manage our own financial resources. Player who earned more money wins. It was an afternoon of fun as I scored and earned 97,100 paper money through investment and financial management.

FWD Life Philippines, one of the country’s fastest-growing life insurers, has introduced a series of new protection plans that can be tailored to meet individual customer needs.

“FWD’s Set for Tomorrow will provide protection for the people we love and care about. The coverage amount and period can be customized to any personal situation and budget. Our aim is to make real and substantial protection accessible to everyone,” said FWD Life Philippines President and Chief Executive Officer Peter Grimes.

Dubbed Set for Tomorrow, the insurance product has three variants that address the different needs to take care of those left behind should the unexpected happen—Short Term Cover, Income Protector, and Estate Protector.

“Set for Tomorrow caters to Filipinos from 18 to 70 years of age, from young urban professionals to retirees,” Peter added. “With very basic social security, many professionals have an enormous protection gap.”

Taking responsibility to protect those you love

In today’s uncertain world, FWD’s latest insurance product is there to protect the ones you love. Three common reasons that lead to financial problems for those left behind include:

>People have loans and accountabilities that are transferred to their family if they are no longer around.

>Raising a family requires time and money. Also, if the breadwinner falls away, the family will still need money to continue living a life with dignity.

>People who build up wealth worry about what they leave behind and especially how to best avoid a family crisis in settling estate taxes and dividing assets. As part of any estate planning solution, long-term insurance coverage is essential to evenly share the assets and ensure those left behind feel equally treated.

Solutions that provide guaranteed protection and give you peace of mind
FWD’s Set for Tomorrow has three variants that meet the needs of the modern Filipino.

Short Term Cover is an affordable term life plan that provides guaranteed life insurance coverage for five or 10 years.

Income Protector ensures that your family can continue their life even if you are no longer around.

Lastly, Estate Protector is a whole-life plan that provides guaranteed life insurance coverage until 120 years of age.

FWD wants to guide people in fitting the right variant, protection amount, coverage period, and payment terms to the customer’s preferences and abilities.

With this in mind, FWD launched online calculator “Cali”. By answering just a few questions, Cali allows you to determine the best solution for you and your budget. To find out the Set for Tomorrow plan that’s perfect for your budget and insurance needs, simply visit cali.ph/SetForTomorrow.

FWD’s Set for Tomorrow plans are now available through FWD Life’s Financial Wealth Planners. Interested customers may call the 24/7 FWD Customer Connect Hotline at (02) 888-8388 or chat with a Customer Connect Executive via FWD’s 24/7 Live Chat (www.fwd.com.ph) to set an appointment. The plans will also soon be available at all branches of Security Bank, FWD’s bancassurance partner.

SM Cares spreads awareness about breast cancer through "Power in Pink"

Breast cancer as we all know is the most common invasive cancer in women, and the second main cause of cancer death in women, after lung cancer.

Awareness of the symptoms and the need for screening are important ways of reducing the risk. To strengthen the fight against breast cancer, the Department of Health together with SM Cares, the corporate social responsibility arm of SM Prime Holdings, and SM City North Edsa holds Power in Pink, an event in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Breast cancer has become one of the leading types of cancer worldwide, with a projection that 1 out of 13 Filipinas will develop the disease in her lifetime, according to the Philippine Breast Cancer Society.

With the theme “United we fight!”, attendees were comprised of different national support groups, doctors, families and friends of breast cancer advocacy supporters. The project aims to unify all groups nationwide to strengthen their network in raising awareness, early detection, and early intervention in the fight against breast cancer.

As October is known as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, SM Cares has been unwavering in spreading awareness about breast cancer. Earlier this month, we held Pink Ribbon Day, and today, Power in Pink. We remain persistent in reaching out and strengthening Filipino women around the country by letting them know that there is nothing to fear. The earlier you detect it (breast cancer), the faster it can be cured.” said Berna Velasco, program director for SM Cares Program on Women and Breastfeeding, during the event held at the Skydome of SM City North EDSA.

Free clinical breast examinations by volunteer doctors were conducted. Power in Pink also featured a mall walkathon, introduction of all support groups and a lay forum, “Breast Cancer 101.”

SM Cares makes it a point to support women in communities where they are present. Some of their programs include program on Persons with Disabilities, Children and Youth, Women and Breastfeeding Mothers, Environment Sustainability, Senior Citizens, and Overseas Filipino Workers (Global Pinoy). Breastfeeding stations across all SM Supermalls nationwide are provided as part of its program to allow mothers the convenience and freedom in nourishing their babies.

Through Power in Pink, SM Cares looks forward to strengthening partnerships with various government and non-government organizations in advancing the advocacy for women and the fight against breast cancer.

Our Lady of Fatima University Rises in the South with New Laguna Campus

Breaking ground for another milestone.Together with the University Chaplain, OLFU executives set a time capsule in the four-hectare Macabling property in Santa Rosa, Laguna, for the groundbreaking of a new campus. From left: Yvonne S. Guevara, Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Enrico O. Santos, Member of the Board of Trustees; Don August O. Santos, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer; Fr. Lito Caliwag, University Chaplain; Dr. Caroline Marian S. Enriquez, University President; Dr. Mylene S. Abad Santos, Vice President for Student Affairs; and Robert Bjorn O. Santos, Alumni Affairs Director.

Our Lady of Fatima University (OLFU) takes its first foray to the south following 50 years of providing quality education in and around Metro Manila as well as Central Luzon with the groundbreaking of a sixth campus set to rise in Santa Rosa, Laguna.

“When we open a campus, the first and foremost that we have in mind are the students coming in,” said Don August O. Santos, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of OLFU. “With any person who goes through Fatima, and graduates with a degree from Fatima, there’s a sense of achievement that we were able to mold that person to the best that he or she could be.”

The new campus is set on a spacious four-hectare property in Macabling and will initially house a five-story building complete with school facilities and amenities for holistic student learning. Like in OLFU’s other locations, the Laguna campus will offer business courses together with the university’s trademark healthcare programs to meet the demands of the Santa Rosa community.

“We’ll offer both medical and business programs so we are able to address current needs. If there’s a strong calling for business programs, we’ll include them in our offerings,” OLFU President Dr. Caroline Marian S. Enriquez said. “Because we are known for our medical programs, we’ll include those as well. We’re delivering the best for each program.”

A nod to heritage, this milestone reflects a return to the humble beginnings of one of OLFU’s founders, Professor Jose Olivares. In 1967, Professor Olivares founded a 25-bed general hospital in Valenzuela City to convince his son-in-law, Dr. Vicente Santos, to cancel migration plans to the United States. Soon the hospital grew to a nursing training center in 1973 and then to a medical college in 1979. Further expansion led to a second campus as well as a more diversified academic program in the 1990s. In 2002, Our Lady of Fatima College was granted university status by the Commission on Higher Education.

“It’s like coming full circle. When we were kids, we would go to the Olivares ancestral house in Santa Cruz, Laguna, and we would always pass along this path (the new campus site),” Santos said. Santos and Dr. Enriquez are among Professor Olivares’ seven grandchildren who are part of the university leadership.

“We thought it would be a good idea to come back to where we came from. Our roots are from Laguna,” Dr. Enriquez explained regarding why the university chose Santa Rosa for its latest campus.

The Laguna campus adds to Our Lady of Fatima University’s roster of educational institutions located in Valenzuela City, Quezon City, Antipolo City, City of San Fernando (Pampanga), and Cabanatuan City (Nueva Ecija). The university offers several courses including Hotel and Restaurant Management, Information Technology, Accounting, Education, Civil Engineering, Criminology, Psychology, and Maritime Education, as well as its heritage healthcare programs, namely Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Medical Laboratory Science, and Dentistry. OLFU is currently home to about 45,000 students across all campuses.

Maxi-Peel ZERO: The Secret to Marian and Maine's Glowing and Smooth Skin

If Robin Padilla had been my celebrity crush for the longest time, Marian Rivera was the one local actress I have been wanting to meet in person ever since I started blogging.

Named as the most beautiful Filipina celebrity in 2016 by an american media company called Gazette, Ive seen her in person a couple of times already but never up close.

I wanted to see if she was as flawless as she looks in all those photos and if her skin truly radiated like her commercials.

I finally got the chance to meet Marian last week (October 19)  when I got invited to the Maxipeel Zero event at Cafe Romulo, Timog QC.. ,And not only that, I also came face to face with Maine Mendoza!

Maxipeel recently launched Kapuso Phenomenal Star Ms. Maine Mendoza together with  Primetime Queen Marian Rivera as their newest celebrity ambassador for Maxipeel Zero.

When asked for their beauty routine. They told that they wash, tone, and moisturize using Maxipeel Zero. They put on sunblock when they are outside. To prevent aging and wrinkles.

Since her early days in showbiz, Primetime Queen Marian Rivera has been an icon of beauty and sophisticated grace. Her radiant glow, along with her dedication to her family and many advocacies. has earned her a rightful pedestal as one of the country‘s top celebrities.

Marian’s beauty is timeless. Classic. And her flawless skin has been taken care of by a brand she has stayed loyal to for over 10 years, Maxi-Peel. Her supporters who have watched her grow in the industry love her candor and authenticity-so much so that they’ve also supported every brand she chose to work with, knowing that she’d only endorse products she has a genuine regard for. Marian has been a long-standing partner of Maxi-Peel, ensuring that every campaign they release is more successful than their last one.

To put it simply, she is an inspiration to everyone who knows her name, including the Phenomenal Star Maine Mendoza.

For days, it has been hot news that Maine has switched from her old cleanser and will be joining Marian in endorsing Maxi-Peel ZERO, an innovative new micro-exfoliant that promises glowing and radiant skin. Her main reason for making the switch? Her ate, Marian Rivera.

Much like Marian, Maine’s rise to stardom can be attributed to her candidness on and off the screen. In an industry that thrives on playing roles, Maine’s fans remained loyal to her because of her youthful spark and bone tide authenticity to herself and to everyone else. Every product she ever endorsed was a successful sold out situation that drew snaking lines and top trending topics on launch day.

Maine’s natural self is her best feature. Her effortless beauty is the desire of millions of her loyal supporters. And it won’t be long before those supporters make the switch to the latest addition to Maine’s beauty arsenal and the secret to her glowing skin, Maxi-Peel ZERO.

With both Marian and Maine working together, it’s safe to say that this might be the most powerful endorsement tandem we’ve seen in years. Their influence across all ages transcends beyond social media, print, and TV mediums. Maxi-Peel, with both Marian and Maine’s loyal support, is truly a force to be reckoned with.

Manny Pacquiao is the newly appointed ISPS Handa Ambassador

The International Sports Promotion Society (also known as ISPS Handa) with Ms. Midori Miyazaki and Mr. Kevin O' Brien recently appointed eleven-time world boxing champion and Philippine senator Manny Pacquiao as one of its global ambassadors last October 17 at the Makati Shangri-la.

He is joined the ranks of  former New Zealand Prime Minister Sir John Key, former Prime Minister of Ireland Enda Kenny, international rugby icons Dan Carter, Francois Pienaar and Mike Tindell, as well as top rank golf pros including Lydia Ko, Ernie Els, Rafa Cabrera-Bello, Lexi Thompson, Michelle Wie, Thorbj orn Olesen, Emiliano Grillo and Lee Westwood.

In a press conference held at the Makati Shangri-La on Wednesday, October 17, ISPS Handa representatives conferred the recognition to the acclaimed boxing icon, and officially turned over its contribution amounting to $100,000.00 to the senator's charity foundation Emmanuelle & Jinkee's Heart Foundation, Inc.

He told that the contribution would be of great help to the people of Gen San, whose main advocacy is to provide homes for the indigents.

”It is a great honor to be an ISPS Handa ambassador," Pacquiao said.

"I was able to meet Dr. Handa earlier in Japan this year, and we have become good friends since then. Since we are both sports enthusiasts, we share the same vision of using sports to bring people together and promote world peace, and I am happy to know that this is the same vision that has inspired ISPS Handa since it began."

Founded by Haruhisa Handa, the Japanese charitable organization has gained renown for its active involvement and sponsorship in major global golf tournaments and has also played a major role in the promotion of blind golf worldwide.

Pacquiao recently reclaimed the WBA world welterweight title after defeating Argentinian fighter Lucas Matthysse during their Fight of Champions bout at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last July 15.

God of the Dance Floor Zeus Collins is coming back with his second concert "The Dance Machine Concert"

More than a year since he first took on the concert stage, Star Magic artist and God of the Dance Floor Zeus Collins is coming back bigger, better and bolder with his second concert titled as The Dance Machine Concert.

Produced by Istudyo ni Pipay, the Hashtags member is taking his big moves and undeniable swag at the SM Skydome on November 3. Known for taking on jaw dropping production numbers everywhere he goes, Zeus’ performances on his concert will surely be much-awaited.

What is set to make that night even more exciting is the fact that some his close friends are joining Zeus onstage. Among them his It’s Showtime family namely Dawn Chang, Ryan Bang and co-Hashtags members Nikko Natividad, Paulo Angeles, Jimboy Martin, Charles Kieron and Jameson Blake and other special guests.

Set to bring her own brand of dance party on the show is young performer and YouTuber Lady Pipay, with whom Zeus performed with during the latter’s birthday show. After which, the unlikely tandem’s Bboom Bboom dance cover even landed among the trending topics with over 350,000 views to date.

Zeus and Lady Pipay dance spot would surely be one of the show’s highlights given their expertise in performing.

But more than being blessed with a new opportunity, Zeus is very much happy to be given the chance to perform to a live audience anew through his upcoming concert.

“Excited po akong ipakita sakanila ang mga production numbers na hindi nila madalas na nakikitang ginagawa ko. Pero masayang masaya rin po ako na may nagtiwala ulit sakin na magkaroon ng concert,” he said.

The It’s Showtime mainstay has already wowed many with his unmatched dancing skills January last year through his first solo free show titled Zeus Collins in Concert in Trinoma.

Like the last time, though, Zeus is hoping to be able to bring cheer and inspiration to his fans on the day of his second concert.

“Sana rin pagkatapos nilang manood ng concert ko eh mas ma-a-appreciate pa nila ang pagsasayaw,” he said.

But how did the concert’s title even came about?

“The concept is the dance machine so we’d like to take Zeus’ dancing skills to the next level and we believe that he is indeed the God of the Dance Floor that is why we want to showcase the different kinds of genres that he can dance,” Drei Roxas, Istudyo ni Pipay’s Communications Officer.

Apart from being involved in the concert’s choreography, Zeus is also proactive in the creation of his show’s lineup, repertoire and even his wardrobe. With only a few more weeks before his sophomore concert, Zeus is now gearing up for the rigorous rehearsals that they would be doing to make sure that they would give nothing but perfection come showtime!

To be directed by dancer-choreographer Nesh Janiola, The Dance Machine Concert: Zeus Collins at Skydome is happening on November 3 at SM Skydome. For tickets just visit https://smtickets.com/ or any SM Ticket Booth.
