Spent more money than they saved and invested
Financial stability is a step towards the future. You can start a life insurance, invest in stocks, or simply start a savings account. “Save and invest for the future so that you can retire young to enjoy life,” says a 48-year-old respondent from Paranaque.

Did not travel enough
With the pressure of work coupled with the notion that traveling is expensive, people are less likely to start traveling at a young age to prioritize career and financial stability. While building your career and aiming for financial stability is important, enjoying some of your hard-earned money while you still have the time can also be beneficial. More companies are even promoting work-life integration to avoid burnout.

Stopped seeking new knowledge after school
Learning never stops after college, as long as you have the persistence and desire to do so. An advice a 40-year-old communications CEO said, “Do not leave your comfort zone. Expand it. Make it bigger!” Attending seminars and conferences, conversing with other professionals in the industry, or even just reading books – information and knowledge are just out there, you just have to go out and grab it.


Disconnected and neglected relationships
Once you graduate and start building a career, you will rarely get enough time to bond with family and friends due to a faster paced lifestyle. One respondent from Pangasinan said, “Life is too short, enjoy every moment with your loved ones.” Being preoccupied with work can sometimes cause us to neglect our family and friends, but a cup of coffee or a movie night once in a while with them can make a difference.

Disregarded health
This includes watching what you eat and engaging in physical activities. People often start too late when it comes to taking care of their health due to their fast-paced lifestyle and the consequences of this procrastination are felt in their later years. A 41-year-old male from Nueva Ecija said, “Be health conscious since your health today is the effect of your younger days.” Cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, and diabetes are just some of the common diseases that arise from one’s lifestyle. Christian Bables is Best Actor at the Hanoi International Film Festival

Christian Bables wins the coveted Best Actor Award at the prestigious 2018 Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF) in Vietnam for his sterling performance in the movie Signal Rock. He made a mark for his role as Intoy, a poor high school dropout who lives in a remote fishing island with his family and courageously climbs steep rock formations just to get a cellphone signal. Signal Rock is directed by Chito Roño.



Overwhelmed by his latest triumph, Christian posted a lengthy message on his Facebook and Instagram accounts to thank God and everyone who have helped and inspired him as an actor.



Fresh from his triumph at HANIFF, Christian is now invited for Signal Rock’s screening at the Golden Globes for awards consideration at the Foreign Language Film category. Signal Rock is one of the 87 movies competing for Best Foreign Language Film at Oscars 2019.



Christian has been receiving critical acclaims for his portrayal in Signal Rock. He also took home a Special Jury Award for Outstanding Acting (while Signal Rock won the Critics’ Choice Award) at the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino last August.



The award-winning actor recently graced the 23rd Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) in South Korea for the screening of Signal Rock. This was his first international film festival foray. Christian shared on social media his photo with Korean superstar Ku Hye-Sun, the lead female of the hit K Drama Boys Over Flowers.



Blessings continuously keep pouring in for Christian. He will return on the big screen with Recipe for Love where he plays Calix, a budding chef, whose specialty is reinvented Filipino food. Calix inherited his culinary passion from his father. The movie is directed by Jose Javier Reyes and stars Cora Waddell, Agot Isidro, Ogie Diaz, and Bing Loyzaga, among others.



Christian’s latest big screen role displays a passion for cooking. But just how passionate is Christian when it comes to acting? “I’ve always been passionate in performing arts. Maybe I had it in me since the day I was formed in my mom’s tummy. But I guess it was in my college years that I’ve learned how to use my talent properly. My first role as an actor was a hitch hiker with a girlfriend dying of leukemia. The character’s name is Rino,” Christian shares.



Christian enjoys being an actor because he can express himself, touch other people’s lives, and execute his passion. “I always believe that everything is about choices. As long as I choose to do what is right and do what satisfies my heart and God, then I know I’ll be fine. I just have to put my trust in God and let go. ️His purpose is always better than the promises of this world.”



Christian takes his work seriously. “I improve my craft by making sure that I am intact with my core - who I am as a person. I prevent myself from being jaded. I observe people a lot. Most importantly, I value the importance of training and preparation.”



How does he see himself 10 years from now? “A successful artist. I envision myself to be in the international acting scene 10 years from now. I will be directing and producing movies for local and international releases. And I will be having a stable life and business. I’m claiming it!”



On the television front, Christian pits acting talents with Jericho Rosales and Sam Milby in the ABS-CBN teleserye Halik.

The implementation of the Asian Free Trade Agreement, however, led to an open market, which led to cheaper imports. Faced with thin margins and fierce competition, BAVI faced a dire threat to its existence. In the light of this challenge, Mascariñas made a bold move to diversify operations. BAVI launched its own retail operation, and developed a complementing range of cooked chicken and dressed chicken products.  In 2009, the company launched its oven roasted chicken business under the trade name “Chooks-to-Go”, completing the integration cycle of poultry operations, from the farm to the dinner table.
