#CEBSuperSeatFest offers flights to ALL domestic and international destinations on sale for as low as PHP 1 one-way base fare

Cebu Pacific (CEB) continues to inspire everyJuan to travel again as it launches its trademark piso sale from December 10 to 12, 2020. This 3-day #CEBSuperSeatFest offers flights to ALL domestic and international destinations on sale for as low as PHP 1 one-way base fare, for travel from August 1 to November 30, 2021.

“A lot of us are looking forward to experiencing the wonders of travel again, especially now that we are seeing more domestic destinations reopen its doors for tourists. We firmly believe the holiday season is the perfect time to share this gift with everyJuan,” said Candice Iyog, CEB vice-president for Marketing & Customer Experience.

We encourage guests to use their Travel Funds to book new flights. Online payments will be accepted on all three days, while payment center options will be made available starting the second day.

Three-step approach to boosting travel confidence: Sanitation & Safety, Track & Trace, Testing

In this environment where health is part of safety, the Philippines’ leading carrier has introduced new sanitation procedures to ensure that the needs of its customers are addressed so everyJuan will be able to confidently travel again. In order to kickstart travel and tourism, CEB strictly follows three key steps: sanitation, tracing, and testing.

CEB’s 7-star COVID Safety Rating

CEB strictly implements its multi-layered approach to safety, in accordance with global aviation standards, to ensure guests travel with peace of mind. This includes extensive daily disinfection of aircraft, frequent cleaning of passenger surfaces at the airport and inflight, coupled with the presence of hospital-grade High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters onboard that are proven to eliminate 99.99% of viruses.

These are on top of CEB’s enhanced self-service online channels that enable guests to easily manage their flights online, as well as update pertinent information that may be required upon entry to a destination. Contactless Flight procedures are also in place, such as boarding pass scanning, mandatory online check-in and self-bag tagging capabilities.

DOTr’s Traze App

The Department of Transportation has recently launched a unified contact tracing app for the aviation industry and all other transport sectors. This requires people transiting through all airports in the Philippines to register in the app called “Traze,” and scan QR codes at designated areas in the airports.

CEB commends the DOTr for launching this single platform as the carrier believes this will result in a more efficient tracing initiative. CEB has been sending constant reminders to its employees and passengers to ensure everyJuan is informed of this requirement, which aims to make travel safe for all.

Affordable testing options

A number of local destinations currently require negative RT-PCR test results prior to entry, that is why CEB has made sure the journey remains affordable and hassle-free for everyJuan. Passengers booked on Cebu Pacific and Cebgo can easily choose and book appointments with any of its three partner laboratories via https://bit.ly/CEBFlightReminders for only PHP 3,300.

CEB has also recently piloted its Test Before Boarding (TBB) process for passengers flying direct from Manila to General Santos City for a two-week trial period until December 14, 2020. This initiative is the first of its kind in the country, allowing passengers to conveniently have their antigen tests administered at the NAIA Terminal 3 just hours before their estimated time of departure. Results are released within 30 minutes, and only those holding negative test results will be allowed to board the flight.

“All these collaborative efforts are testaments of how achievable goals are when we all work together – we are positive our industry will heal and rise as one in no time so #EveryJuanWillFlyAgain,” added Iyog.

Shopee donates 708 transistor radios to the Department of Education (DepEd) to help students in rural areas

Shopee, the leading e-commerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan, is donating 708 transistor radios to the Department of Education (DepEd) to help students in rural areas continue learning despite challenges that the pandemic has posed upon their education.

Last Mile Schools are public educational institutions in geographically isolated and conflict-affected areas (GIDCA), usually without access to electricity and reliable internet connection. With the country still under some quarantine restrictions, students attending these schools face even more obstacles in pursuing their education. Fortunately, they can continue their learning by using the transistor radios to tune in to DepEd’s education broadcasts.

Martin Yu, Associate Director at Shopee Philippines, said, “Shopee is humbled to be a part of this meaningful initiative with DepEd, where we can work to improve the lives of students in Last Mile Schools. Children are our future, so we sincerely hope that the donation of these transistor radios will help children in rural areas continue learning safely from their homes.”

This initiative is the latest in Shopee’s efforts to advocate for Filipino children’s welfare through education. It is part of Shopee’s bigger vision of leveraging the digital ecosystem to provide opportunities for the country’s future generation.

Shopee further commits to uplifting local communities with the launch of Shopee Bayanihan: Pamaskong Pambata, a charity drive to raise funds for 12 local foundations geared towards empowering impoverished children: Mano Amiga Philippines; World Vision Philippines; Young Focus for Education and Development Foundation, Inc.; Fundlife International, Inc.; GMA Kapuso Foundation, Inc.; Save the Children Philippines; Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philippines, Inc.; Project Pearls, Inc.; Project Smile Philippines; Kythe Foundation, Inc.; PGH Medical Foundation, Inc.; and CRIBS Foundation, Inc. Shopee introduced a wide range of in-app initiatives to raise funds and increase awareness for the children’s needs.

Shopee has also partnered with World Vision to put a spotlight on their Abutin Na10 campaign, a fundraising drive to support DepEd’s education continuity plans. Proceeds will go towards equipping students with tools for distance learning.

How to livestream a virtual event and reach thousands of people on Lark

Virtual events and meetings play a big role in the new digital landscape of work, as a means for individuals to connect and communicate with one another despite being physically apart.

Hosting small virtual discussions and gatherings is simple, with the right platform that accommodates the video call duration and participant count that you require. Sometimes, though, you need to make meetings or online events accessible to larger audiences for activities like webinars, company-wide virtual conferences, and even recognition ceremonies.

Online collaboration tool, Lark, offers a Video Call function within the app that can accommodate up to 100 participants with no time limit. From Lark Video Call, it is possible to livestream a meeting to reach hundreds more, both on and off the app.

Just recently, the Lark team itself was able to use this livestream feature for a series of webinars aimed at helping businesses in the Philippines overcome challenges presented by the new ways of working. Each session featured industry leaders as speakers, and was well-attended by top local media and members of respected business organizations in the country via Lark livestream, synced on YouTube.

Livestreaming a meeting to reach more people on Lark

To begin, ensure that your Lark desktop or mobile apps are updated to the latest versions. The host must be logged in to Lark to launch the meeting, and also to enable livestreaming from within the video call control bar.

When livestreaming is enabled, all meeting participants will be required to give their consent, as a layer of protection, before the actual streaming can begin. Participants will also be notified when the livestream ends. While a meeting is successfully being streamed, participants with see a green LIVE icon on the upper left corner of their screens, along with a viewer count.

Viewing a livestreamed Lark event

To view a livestreamed event, you simply need to sign in to Lark on your browser, and open the livestream URL. For optimal viewing, the recommended browser to use for accessing Lark livestreams on Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS devices is Google Chrome.

A livestream link is generated once the host selects Start Livestreaming from within an active meeting's control bar. Meeting hosts can also generate a livestream link in advance through a calendar event. This is helpful when you want to send an invitation ahead of schedule. Anyone with this URL can watch the livestream from their browsers, once the event starts.

The meeting host can also opt to sync a livestream from Lark to other platforms, such as Facebook and YouTube. This allows a virtual event to reach wider audiences, including social media fans and followers, and even personal networks. Anyone with access to the YouTube and Facebook links may view the livestream on their corresponding mobile apps or through a browser.

Livestream viewers can watch the video meeting, along with any shared screens during the session. The meeting host may select from a variety of screen layouts for the livestream, for optimal viewing on both desktop and mobile.

Sidebar, the default layout, is ideal for remote training and online events. Gallery View shows up to 9 participant videos at the same time, and is great for webinars and discussion groups. Full Screen is best used for classes and presentations, with the speaker's video taking up the entire screen.

Using the Live Chat feature

Activating the Live Chat feature during a livestream allows viewers to send their messages, comments, and questions in real time. This way, messages are seen by meeting participants right away, and may be addressed and answered immediately as well. In order to send messages in the Live Chat, livestream viewers need to be logged in to Lark on their browsers.

To regulate the contents of the Live Chat, viewers may report inappropriate or spam messages. The meeting host will be notified that a message has been reported, along with the username of the person who reported the message, and the username of the person being reported. The host can then take appropriate action - Delete the message, ban the user from posting anymore messages in the Live Chat, or ignore the report.

Through Lark's livestream feature, you will be able to reach thousands, even millions of people, online. This is a great way to connect and communicate with employees and team members on a large scale, and also reach out to potential clients, customers and partners to help grow your business.
