Sony launches the WF-1000XM4 headphones


Sony today announces WF-1000XM4 – the latest truly wireless model in the critically acclaimed 1000X series. The WF-1000XM4 headphones take industry-leading noise cancelling[i] and audio quality to the next level. Made to fit every ear, they offer a personalized experience that adjust to every situation.


Even clearer sound, even less noise

The WF-1000XM4 provides industry leading noise cancellation – now even better. The newly designed Integrated Processor V1 provides even better noise cancellation. Specially developed by Sony, the Integrated Processor V1 takes the noise cancellation performance of Sony’s acclaimed QN1e chip and goes even further. Improved noise cancelling performance and Bluetooth® ‘System on Chip’ technology delivers the industry’s highest level of noise cancelling yet uses less power than its predecessor. 


The WF-1000XM4 features high performance dual noise sensor microphones for excellent noise cancellation. By having two noise sensing microphones per ear – one feed-forward, and one feed-back – ambient noise is heard and analyzed, resulting in highly accurate noise cancellation. 

 

A newly designed 6mm driver unit with a 20% increase in magnet volume also improves the WF-1000XM4’s noise cancelling capabilities. The increase in magnet volume and the high compliance diaphragm gives improved performance in low frequencies and enhances noise cancelling by generating a high-precision cancellation signal to the low frequency range.

PLDT rolls out 700,000 ports, increases capacity to 10.2 million homes passed, widest in PH

PLDT aggressively increases its fiber capacity to 10.2 million homes passed with its fiber-to-the-home ports now reaching 700,000 nationwide, the Philippines’ widest fiber network. 

 

“Despite the restrictions brought about by the pandemic, PLDT has been relentless in expanding and upgrading our network. Powered by the fastest broadband in the Philippines, our customers can work, study, earn, and enjoy better at home,” said Butch G. Jimenez, Senior Vice President and Head of PLDT Home Business.

 

PLDT has also the most extensive and advanced digital transport network in the Philippines with 25 core data centers, three cable landing stations, and 15 international submarine cable network.

National Privacy Commission awards data privacy activity book for kids

The National Privacy Commission’s 4th Privacy Awareness Week Awards named the Safe Space: A Kid’s Guide to Data Privacy children’s learning material as the Privacy Initiative of 2021. This was published by The Center for Art, New Ventures & Sustainable Development (CANVAS) and commissioned by Globe Telecom with additional support from Google. 

The 60-page activity book aims to educate Filipino kids how to use and enjoy the internet in a safe and responsible way. It covers several topics such as creating secure passwords, surfing the internet safely, and protecting personal information online among others. To engage its target readers and simplify complex topics, the publication features fun games including word search, and drawing and coloring activities.

“The National Privacy Commission congratulates all the winners of this year’s Privacy Awareness Week Awards. We laud the efforts of Globe, CANVAS, and Google to teach children how to use the internet safely. The ‘Safe Space: A Kid’s Guide to Data Privacy’ activity book furthers the Commission’s goal to uphold digital responsibility in the country. It is a good example on how organizations can work closely together towards educating kids and families about internet citizenship and online safety," said Raymund Liboro, National Privacy Commissioner.

A song for every Filipino: Noel Cabangon and 3D collaborate for “Gagaan Din Ang Buhay”

 

One of the much-awaited collaborations this year just happened last May 28 as Noel Cabangon, Ebe Dancel, Johnoy Danao, and Bullet Dumas released their single “Gagaan Din Ang Buhay.” These four seasoned artists are known to produce songs that are highly relatable and socially relevant. To have them collaborate on one song could be just the kind of uplifting that every Filipino needs right now. 

This quartet’s latest song gives off a wake-up call to its listeners. Every verse inspires people to not be afraid to make a stand and to be firm in what they think is the right thing to do.
