Four visual storytellers explore the people and culture of Southeast Asia through the lens of the Xiaomi 12 Series

Proactive Action, Xiaomi’s latest campaign produced by the National Geographic Creative Works, brings together four master photographers to explore the culture of SouthEast Asia using the Xiaomi 12 series smartphones.

 

The stories are told through the eyes of a celebrated photographer from each country reflecting their local perspective - Gab Mejia from the Philippines, Annice Lyn from Malaysia, Sirachai “Shin” Arunrugstichai from Thailand, and Linh Pham from Vietnam.

 

As they “Master Every Scene” they also aim to document and raise awareness of causes that are close to their hearts in an effort to create interest and preserve their existence.

 

Proactive Action will feature a series of photos and a short video to highlight the different themes chosen by each explorer, where the Xiaomi 12 Pro will put in tests of its triple 50MP pro-grade camera lenses, highlighting especially new features such as ProFocus and Ultra Night Video. The campaign encompasses a wide array of social, cultural and environmental themes that are close to each explorers’ hearts.

Get to know Ho Chi Minh City’s culture riches by exploring the its hidden corners not found in travel guides with Linh. Using his senses and keen eye to look beyond the mundane, Linh ventures through an unnamed coffee shop under the bridge, a museum with million-year-old specimens, a charming neighborhood blended with Vietnamese and Chinese heritage, and a peaceful fishing island with the hope to preserve the city’s legacy and share it with the world.

 

Celebrating life and culture in SEA

Xiaomi fans can also join the campaign through the Xiaomi Photography Academy: A Celebration of People, Life, and Culture across Southeast Asia. Those who want to showcase their skills and share the fascinating parts of their lives and culture can submit their entries from May 14 until June 14, 2022 and is open to individuals who own a Redmi or Xiaomi phone. Participants are encouraged to take the best photos that represent the theme.

Century Tuna Superbods 2022 launched a more inclusive competition that’s open to anyone regardless of age, background, and gender—candidates simply need to make a stand and become an inspiration to Filipinos to be the best version of themselves.

After the online auditions for this year’s competition, the final callbacks were held at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, the official venue partner for Superbods 2022. The aspirants were carefully screened to vie for the title Century Tuna Superbod.

“We would like to congratulate this year's finalists for making it this far. We are excited to witness their Superbods journey and see how they can inspire others to become better versions of themselves” said Century Pacific Food Inc. (CPFI) Vice President and General Manager for Tuna Division Carlo Endaya.

 

In the female category, the 16 beautiful and fit finalists are Andrea Abalos, Christelle Abello, Michelle Arceo, Xandria Bautista, Sherlyn Doloriel, Lovely Elazegui, Vienne Feucht, Querubin Gonzales, Mary Gonzalez, Julia Mendoza, Nadia Mostoles, Chrystalle Omaga, Kerri Reilly, Selena Reyes, Mia Salisbury, and Kim Velasco.

The 16 fit and strong male finalists are George Baker, Kirk Bondad, Edison Borja, Wani Manotoc, Herson Parias, Paul Pedley, Gee Plamenco Jr., Patrick Ramirez, Lourd Ramos, Anjo Resurreccion, Ramon Reyes, Julian Roxas, Jaime Santamaria, Jean Santos, Mark Soriano, and Erik Visser.

 

The 32 finalists will all be undergoing a series of activities and challenges leading up to the finals night in July. Moreover, two grand winners will receive ₱500,000.00 each, while the two runners-up will receive ₱200,000.00 each, tax-free. All four winners will also get a year’s worth of Century Tuna products and other exciting prizes.

Gamers now have the chance to show off their PUBG skills in a big gaming tournament by vivo

vivo, one of the leading smartphone brands in the country, is calling the best of Gen Z gamers and the esports audiences as it kicks off the very first PUBG Turbo Cup Challenge Tournament.

On July 9, 2022, the most vicious players from Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines will gather together and bring their A-game to battle it out in this one big and electrifying gaming tournament. The vivo PUBG Turbo CUP Challenge will have three stages: country qualifier, country finals and SEA finals, all will be executed in a Battle Royale style.  These stages will consist of four games where players must explore and compete in four maps, Erangel, Sanhok, Miramar and Vikendi, in the third person perspective (TPP).

Sixty-four teams, divided into four groups from each region, will compete during the country qualifier. Four winning teams will be determined from each group in the first stage, and they will proceed to the country finals. Another four will advance to the SEA Finals, from the competing teams in the second stage. The winners of each match will be determined with the highest place and total kill points.

Team leaders of the winning teams from the country qualifier will be given the opportunity to meet and greet one of the country’s pro gaming team leaders, who will help them sharpen their gaming tactics and skills. All four countries will have their own local stream during the country and SEA finals. There will also be a virtual stage to go with the local stream where supporters and participants can keep track of the tournament.

How to join?

The vivo PUBG Turbo Cup Tournament is for active students. To join, they should register through the Turbo Cup Tournament website and upload a photo of their student ID card and their student portal account profile. They should also have their own PUBG mobile account and registered ID nicknames. Participants should register through the team registration in order to play at the main event. They can only be enrolled in one team that should consist of four people.

Teams with a total of eight points will be awarded fourth place, teams with 10 points will be awarded third place, garnering 12 points will secure the second place, and a winning 15 points will bag the first place.

BDO Unibank recognized the best online content creators in the first-ever BDO Blogger Awards.

 

The BDO Blogger Awards honors bloggers and influencers for sharing useful information, insights, and positivity with their followers and viewers. The awards honor bloggers’ contributions not only in spreading awareness about the bank’s advocacies, but also in initiating important public discussions for a more financially-inclusive industry through content creation.

 

The Awards feature two segments: the recognition ceremony, which awards the top-performing content creators in terms of the quality of content they published online from 2020 to 2021; and the content creation contest—a thematic activity that challenges participants to come up with unique and creative ways to talk about various topics.

 

This year, BDO challenged participants to discuss the bank’s innovative digital solutions, which served as an alternative option for clients to perform their bank transactions especially during the height of the pandemic.
