The device features an all-new VO Max professional workout analysis, which measures the maximum amount of oxygen users can utilize during exercise. Xiaomi Smart Band 7 also provides sleep tracking, as well as SpO and heart-rate monitoring. Xiaomi Smart Band 7 comes with 100+ watch faces, as well as multiple colorful strap options to match. The battery is designed to last up to 14 days on standby. Finally, with 5ATM water resistance, it’s ready to go rain or shine.

Watsons contributes to make our planet cleaner, healthier and safer


In 2021, A.S. Watson reiterated its commitment to reduce the  environmental impact of its business and announced new targets to accelerate its contribution to the fight against climate change.

For its first face-to-face sustainability event dubbed “Do Good for the Planet,” Watsons Philippines invited guests who talked about how reducing your carbon footprint is a way of doing good for the planet.

“Watsons recognizes its customers to choose more sustainable products and a greener lifestyle. We are continuing this sustainability journey and we are making it personal by talking about how we can reduce our own individual carbon footprint,” said Watsons Public Relations and Sustainability Director Viki Encarnacion.

Carbon footprint refers to the total amount of greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide and methane, generated by our actions. It is our total impact on the planet and how it contributes to global warming.

Among the activities that increase our carbon footprint are travel, energy consumption, eating and shopping habits. 


For “Do Good for the Planet,” Watsons invited Jack Warren of ClimatePartner, social and mindful entrepreneur Rizza Lana Sebastian  and Cat Trivino of Communities for Organized Resource Allocation  to help media guests understand what carbon footprint is and why we should always be mindful.

ClimatePartner is a global solutions partner that works with corporate and individual customers to calculate and reduce carbon emissions and offset unabated emissions.

“To address the issue of climate change, we should not emit more carbon dioxide than what we can offset, a state that’s called carbon neutrality. You can reduce your carbon emissions by eating more greens instead of meat, smart use of electricity, walk, bike or carpool and  fly economy instead of business or first class,“  said Warren.

Sebastian and Trivino gave media guests tips on how to reduce our impact on the environment. They both talked about the different ways in which we could go green, like choosing locally produced food and products, bringing your own bag when shopping and buying energy efficient products such as appliances with inverter technology.

During the Watsons event, media guests were encouraged to calculate their carbon  footprint by logging on to 
ClimatePartner’s website, and they were able to see the sources of their carbon dioxide emissions. 

“This discussion is a reminder that we can all help to minimize our carbon footprint  and contribute to the efforts to make our planet cleaner, healthier and safer,” said Encarnacion.

The Watsons sustainability program encourages customers to do good for the planet by choosing products with better ingredients, going for product refills whenever possible, opting for clean beauty products and picking products that come in better packaging so they can be reused.

HUAWEI WATCH GT 3 Pro Ceramic Edition: Unboxing and First Impressions


Beauty on your wrist. Getting fit never looked so stylish.

 

Let me make a confession. I’m not a fan of smart watches. 

 

Yes, I know smartwatches and fitness bands are some of the most in demand devices with everyone hoping to get some assistance when it comes to living a healthy lifestyle. 

 

My only problem is, and I know that a lot of women can also relate, is that most of them seemed to be designed for men. I’ve had several smartwatches and there are times when you just want your watch to look like a traditional timepiece that could match your OOTD. 

 

Well that changes with  Huawei Philippines latest smartwatch—the HUAWEI Watch GT3 Pro Ceramic Edition.

 

Just look at this beauty on your wrist. If that doesn’t make you want to jiggle and wiggle your way to health, I don’t know what else will.

 

Here’s our unboxing and the top five things we like about it.

 

UNBOXING 

What’s in the box?

The Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro Ceramic Edition comes in a square box much like other regular watches. There is a photo of the watch on front with the branding on the top left and the “Powered by HarmonyOS” label on the bottom right. All the other sides are clean except for the back that contains the details model no., strap color and the serial number of the device. There is also a reminder that the watch is not designed to be a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease and that all the data is for your personal reference only.

 

Lift the lid of the box to reveal the watch secured in place in a separate compartment. The other compartment stores the warranty card and Quick Start guide. You can scan the QR code to download the Huawei Health app from the App Gallery as the one on the PlayStore isn’t the latest version. You also get a white USB A charging cradle.

 

The first time I wore the watch it was quite loose, so I though I had to go to a watch store and have a few links removed, but its a good thing Huawei already included a mini screwdriver as well as some extra links to make sure you get the right fit.

Here are the top five features we liked about it

 

1. DESIGN: The Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro Ceramic Edition This is one of the few smartwatches out there that is really designed for the female user-- and perhaps the best looking yet. 

 

It incorporates the elegance and calmness of the East and the glaring gorgeousness of the West in a fusion of aesthetics, creating this magical collision on the wrist. It has the ultimate purity of ceramics along with magical charms of the metal. The ceramic body design, brings a warm and clear lustre with a solid texture which is elegant but sturdy. While the links are white, shiny chiclets, with a body that carries forward the ceramic build across the sides and back.

 

The strap is designed with a traditional butterfly buckle, which has obvious advantages in terms of durability and avoids bending of the strap. The design connects the straps and the watch together to fit the shape of the wrist which guarantees comfortability and stability, keeping the watch secure even during when doing physical activities.

 

2. DISPLAY:  Despite a slightly smaller screen, The new generation of HUAWEI WATCH GT 3 Pro Ceramic Edition is equipped with a 1.32-inch AMOLED HD coloured display, with a larger display area for a more transparent visual experience at a glance. The HD coloured display of HUAWEI WATCH GT 3 Pro Ceramic Edition has a 466*466 HD resolution, delivering exquisite picture quality that can clearly display every detail on the screen.

 

3. MORE THAN 100 WORKOUT MODES:

As a fitness watch, the GT 3 Pro offers an upgraded workout monitoring feature, providing over 100 workout modes. It also includes other professional workout modes: 12 outdoor workouts (golf driving range mode, running, walking, mountain climbing, hiking, crosscountry running, cycling, open water swimming, triathlon, skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, free training) and 7 indoor workouts (walking, running, cycling, pool swimming, free training, elliptical machine, and rowing machine). No matter what sports you are interested in, this watch is ready to take the challenge with you.  Data docking is compatible with 60+ workout apps around the world, including the mainstream overseas apps such as Runtastic and Komoot. Sports enthusiasts can connect their equipment and services to the apps, and they can synchronise the records, so they do not have to worry about losing the data when using different platforms.
 

4. WORK OUT WITH MUSIC: The GT 3 Pro comes with a large amount of storage space,  allowing you to store their favourite songs without concern to enjoy more from their workout. Transferring your favorite songs is as simple as syncing it with your smartphone.  When connected via Bluetooth, users can control the smartphone to start, pause, play previous song, play next song, or adjust volume through the smartwatch’s music control interface. Users can also control music playback during workout.

 

5. MENSTRUAL CYCLE MANAGEMENT: This one is quite convenient for women as we often ignore or forget the small details of their physical health. The Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro supports menstrual cycle management to keep track of female menstruation cycles and estimate ovulation date. Then the caring watch can intelligently send reminders according to the records and you prepare for the special days, allowing them to manage their menstrual cycle scientifically.

 

6. ALL-DAY HEALTH MONITORING and REMINDERS:  The Watch GT 3 Pro supports all-day SpO2 and plateau SpO2 monitoring, allowing users to check the history data to stay informed to their physical

condition. With Huawei TruSeen 5.0+  it further improves the accuracy of heart rate monitoring, but also improves the accuracy of SpO2 monitoring. The signal is enhanced by the innovative multi-channel signal adjust algorithm, and the SpO2 output rate and accuracy rate are increased

by 5%.  I also like the regular water reminders, stress, and the alerts when I’ve been sitting for too long.

 

7. HEALTHY LIVING: With this feature you can create a health plan based on your goal. Do you want to feel more relaxed and at ease? Do you want to improve sleep? Gain control of your weight, Manange blood pressure or just want to try something new. It will then create basic check in tasks like Activity, Mood, Sleep, drinking water, medication reminders and even remind you to Smile--as it can help you feel better.

 

So far, I’m enjoying the Huawei Watch GT3 Pro Ceramic edition more than my other fitness bands. The step counter pushes me to reach my daily goals while the regular reminders are like soft taps that are very much appreciated especially when you are busy and forget even the simple things like drinking water or take breathing exercises. If you want a smartwatch that could easily go and enhance your OOTDs this is one of the best options for women.
