UNIQLO announces thel launch of "CELEBRATING SOFIA COPPOLA UT" collection on Monday, March 6

 

Global apparel retailer UNIQLO today announces that it will launch the CELEBRATING SOFIA COPPOLA UT collection on Monday, March 6. This collaboration spotlights some of Ms. Coppola’s greatest achievements since her debut as a film director 25 years ago, flourishing into one of Hollywood’s leading contemporary directors by exploring the subtleties of human life. The UT line presents memorable scenes and quotes from her films. 

Commenting on today’s announcement, Takahiro Kinoshita, Fast Retailing Group Senior Executive Officer and Creative Director, said, "Sofia Coppola has many fans around the world, including me. I feel her charm is in her ability to create carefully layered visual expressions, as well as her overall style and way of living a dignified life. I am really happy to be collaborating with Ms. Coppola on our special film-themed UT collection."

Ms. Coppola said, “I am so happy to have this project celebrating my work and hope people will enjoy the T-shirts as a token of the films that are so much a part of my life. They are a great reminder of the collaborators I worked with and the creative experience we shared. I like to wear T-shirts of artists and musicians who I love, and in the same way wish for them to mean something to someone who likes my work. I always like how a T-shirt can connect you to other people who like the same thing you do.

The collection presents motifs from five of her most noteworthy films. They are The Virgin Suicides, Lost in Translation, Marie Antoinette, Somewhere, and The Bling Ring. The designs and silhouettes of these T-shirts appeal to all.

Born in 1971, Sofia Coppola grew up in northern California. She has directed seven feature-length films, beginning with The Virgin Suicides in 1999. She has attracted numerous fans with her highly artistic and original scripts. She won Best Director at the 70th Cannes Film Festival in 2017.

 

Maya launches Palengke QR PH in Naga City

 

Maya, the country's all-in-one money app and no. 1 digital bank, is leading the roll-out of the national QR standard for retail payments in the Bicol region, starting with the launch of the Paleng-QR Ph program in Naga City today. 

In partnership with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas(BSP), the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and the local government, Maya has transformed the Naga City People's Mall into a digital market or "digi-palengke."

"We fully support the Paleng-QR Ph initiative as it promotes financial inclusion and digital adoption at the community level. QR Ph brings modern-day convenience and, more importantly, empowers every Filipino to build a digital and financial footprint. This, in turn, allows Maya to deliver seamlessly game-changing and life-enhancing banking services such as savings, credit, and investments," said Maya Group President Shailesh Baidwan.  

The Paleng-QR PH program is one of the key initiatives under the BSP Digital Payments Transformation Roadmap. The country aims to raise the share of digital payments to 50% and enable 70% of adult Filipinos to own a financial account by end-2023. 

Through the Paleng-QR program, market vendors, shopkeepers, and tricycle drivers can accept digital payments from customers regardless of their e-wallet or bank accounts via QR Ph, the national standard for QR payment. Maya's QR codes are QR PH-compliant, and its app can scan any QR Ph-powered transaction. 

Since last year, Maya has been leading the fintech and banking sector in building digi-palengkes nationwide, including public markets in Baguio City, Davao City, Tagbilaran City, and Bataan province.  

As the only integrated financial services ecosystem with a top-rated consumer finance app and leading merchant payment processing business, Maya is uniquely positioned to drive QR Ph's massive adoption. It is the first fintech to roll out QR Ph for peer-to-peer (P2P) and peer-to-merchant (P2M) payments.

go on the run and not honor the contract. This leads to a journey that becomes a fight for survival as they try to take down The Client, the man responsible for putting up the contract.

Empire loyalist Moff Gideon

This ends with them making an enemy out of Moff Gideon, who was a part of the Galactic Empire that once ruled the galaxy. The Mandalorian and the Child then formed a new clan as they set off on a journey to learn more about the latter’s true origins.

Luke Skywalker returns to save Grogu

In the second season,Grogu is abducted by the enemy.This leads to a dramatic rescue and a fight between Din Djarin and Moff Gideon, which ends with Djarin getting a weapon called the Darksaber and saving Grogu. The end of the second season saw Grogu wanting to train to become a Jedi. He then bids Din Djarin goodbye in an emotional farewell.

Grogu is one of the show’s biggest stars. We learned more about his abilities and origin story in the second season. His name was revealed by Ahsoka Tano, along with his past as a Jedi in training. We also see Grogu become more comfortable using his powers and abilities, even helping Din Djarin during fights. They include telepathy, telekinesis, healing wounds, calming beasts, and even masking his own abilities to protect himself.

While the second season shared more information about Grogu’s origins, the mystery of who rescued him when he was younger remains.
