Amaia Land offers modern homes in Cavite, a prime choice of property investors
Boasting proximity to business and commercial districts even as it features verdant greeneries, the province of Cavite has steadfastly grown to be a prime choice of local and foreign property investors.
To begin with, Cavite is highly accessible. Motorists can use the Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway, Daanghari, the Cavite-Laguna Expressway, and the ParaƱaque Integrated Terminal Exchange to go to and from the province.
Commuters, on the other hand, are served by a vast number of passenger buses, jeepneys, UV express vehicles, and even the highly favored mode of transportation—the point-to-point (P2P) system.
Only 18 to 20 minutes away from the industrial parks of Region IV-A or CALABARZON, Cavite is also regarded by local fun seekers as a cool weekend getaway. Just consider Tagaytay City and its attractions, Cavite’s famed cuisine, and the province’s fine resorts.
All these resonate with Amiala Land’s objective of offering modern residential communities to aspiring homeowners who prefer laidback living in an urbanized setting.
Its latest project, Amaia Series Vermosa, is one perfect example. Located along Patinding Araw Road in Imus, Cavite, it is a part of a master planned Ayala community, Vermosa Estate that features Ayala Malls Vermosa and places residents near Ayala Land office buildings, a sports and lifestyle complex, the De La Salle Zobel, and beautiful interconnected parks.
Amaia Series Vermosa is close to more than forty financial institutions and businesses involved in automotive, food, and garments. Imus also has a variety of retail establishments that include Robinsons Place, S&R, and The District.
Other Amaia projects in Cavite are Amaia Scapes General Trias and Amaia Scapes Trece Martires, properties that offer contemporary house and lot units. Residents in these developments enjoy sleek common areas and recreational amenities like swimming pools, basketball courts, village pavilions and playgrounds.
And because Amaia Land acknowledges that Filipino individuals and families have ever-changing needs, these properties offer provisions for expansion.
Both Amaia Scapes General Trias and Amaia Scapes Trece Martires thrive in progressive locales in Cavite. General Trias, home to commercial centers and manufacturing companies, offers employment and business opportunities to job seekers.
Meanwhile, Trece Martires is known for urban tourism and development.
Consistent with its goal of providing budget-friendly and contemporary homes to all Filipinos, these Amaia offers flexible payment options such as cash, deferred cash, and bank-financing.
Amaia continues to serve prospective homeowners with affordable and sustainable developments that aim to elevate the Filipino living experience in a well-secured environment.

Secosana x Alex Gonzaga Collection
Some collect shoes...I collect bags. I am a bag person. Half of my collection are designer handbags and locals from some of the best designers in Manila. Our local bags has that quality that is of par and design that is sustainable. Most of them I found in social media.
Ours can compete with designer brands in terms of quality, design and standards.
Just because your bag says a lot about you. Accessorizing perfectly with the handbag is that what makes for the whole look. You need different sizes, shapes, and styles to go with your outfit while also giving you the functionality of carrying your things whenever you go. With that in mind, Secosana has all the styles that would fit the look, whether its a handbag, a purse or a sling bag.
Secosana recently launches their latest collab with Celebrity Youtuber Alex Gonzaga. I love most of their collection especially the three-way bag and the classic white elegant bag. Perfect for formal occasion.
From international and even to local brands, the current wave of having collection collaboration between fashion and beauty brands and celebrities is nothing new. However, throughout the years, this practice has lost its luster due to brands creating their own designs and simply using the names of their ambassadors and endorsers, and then declare these as “collaborations”.
In this day and age where the “woke” market seeks for transparency and authenticity, efforts such as these may prove detrimental to the brand.
This was the guiding principle behind the recent collaboration between SECOSANA Bags, an iconic brand that has proven strong since 1996, and social media superstar Alex Gonzaga who has gained popularity due to her image of being raw, real and relatable.
“We wanted the brand to be relatable and to be appealing to more than just the millennial market. We wanted the brand and the collection to be true to who Alex is, designs that she appreciates and will use, so as to appeal to Generation Z” said Bea who is the Head of Sales and Marketing.
“When we started envisioning the bag collection, we told Alex that she will definitely have a hand in the designs, the colors, the fabric, and the overall look.”
And that was truly what happened. Working with the SECOSANA designers, Alex Gonzaga was part of the entire process from conceptualization to quality control, to ensure that the various collection pieces truly represented who and what Alex represented.
“This collection is who I am and what kind of handbag I truly love to carry --- small enough to be handled with ease, filling my most important personal items --- very functional; and yet exude freshness and a sense of style that one can match with whatever they are wearing,” said Alex Gonzaga.
Alex added, “This collection is truly an expression of my passion for fashion.”
Check out and purchase the entire Alex Gonzaga collection at www.secosana.com.ph and in Secosana boutiques. Selected collection items will be available in SM and Robinsons Department stores.

Glad Philippines held the Glad-To-Give Smiles Family Fair to help spread smiles to Filipinos this Christmas season
The world’s leading cleft charity, Smile Train, and food storage and cooking solutions provider Glad Philippines recently held the Glad-To-Give Smiles Family Fair to help spread smiles to Filipinos this Christmas season.
“As part of the Glad®-to-Give Smiles program, we held this family fair to help raise awareness and funds for Smile Train and babies born with clefts,” said Mr. Paulo Lao, Sales and Marketing Director for Southeast Asia of The Clorox Company, which owns Glad.
“This program is the product of our long-standing relationship with Smile Train, as well as the company’s commitment to helping more consumers, including children and their families. Glad thrives on feasts and celebrations, especially during the Holiday and what better way to reinforce this message by bringing back the smiles of children affected with cleft lip and palate so they too can have happier mealtimes this Christmas,” Lao added.
The Glad-To-Give campaign is Glad’s global corporate social responsibility platform. This year, the Glad-To-Give Smiles Family Fair was filled with fun activities, delicious food stations and a cooking demonstration prepared by Glad®'s Ambassador, Chef Happy Ongpauco-Tiu. “I am very proud to be a part of this meaningful campaign this holiday. It is an honor for me to help raise funds and awareness about Smile Train’s work in the Philippines,” said Chef Happy Ongpauco-Tiu.
The program was hosted by Ms. Suzi Abrera. Other supporters include The Medical City, Alveo Land, Beyond® Yoga, Swell Sweets Cake Lab, and Ms. Natalia Santamaria Escano, who performed with Smile Train beneficiaries during the program. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Smile Train’s cleft programs in the Philippines.
“As we celebrate our 20th year in the Philippines, we are grateful to our partners like Glad® Philippines who have been enabling us to fulfill our vision to raise awareness and create a better future for children with clefts,” said Kimmy Coseteng-Flaviano, Smile Train’s Area Director for South East Asia. “We also thank the families for giving their time for the Glad®-to-Give Smiles Family Fair. With their help, we are able to raise funding for more cleft surgeries this holiday season.”
Approximately 5,000 new babies with clefts are born every year in the Philippines. Without access to proper cleft treatment, these babies often have difficulty eating, breathing, speaking, and ultimately thriving. Smile Train’s sustainable model empowers local medical professionals with training and resources to provide 100 percent-free, quality, comprehensive, and safe cleft care to children in need in their own communities.

Taiwan Bubble Tea Pavilion empowers Davao business owners to ride on the bubble tea craze
The “bubble tea craze” has taken over the country and Davao City is no exception. With more and more people clamoring for this satisfying drink, business owners need to have access to top quality raw materials and highly responsive after-sales support from the best manufacturers and suppliers in Taiwan.
Opening doors of opportunities is the Taiwan Bubble Tea Pavilion at the Taiwan Expo 2019, held last November 8-9, 2019 at the SMX Convention Center Davao. Organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the special exhibition featured member companies of the Taiwan Bubble Tea Alliance, an organization established in 2017 to unify and boost the collective strength of over 125 bubble milk tea vendors and industrial firms.
With a theme "Taiwan Bubble Tea, Bubble Up Your Life!," the exhibition and business conference gave bubble tea fans, business franchises, and startup entrepreneurs in Davao to see and taste the latest bubble tea products from Taiwan. Hundreds of visitors, which included local business owners and buyers in Davao and nearby areas in the Mindanao region, lined up for the demonstrations and sampling held at the bubble tea booth. Customers who have tried bubble tea products before cited the difference in taste quality of the tea and pearl products from the exhibitors.
Highlighting different fields of the bubble tea industry—raw materials (e.g. tea, tapioca), packaging, equipment, total solution, and chain stores—the pavilion showcased three alliance members Good Young Co. Ltd., Mr. Sun International Tea Chain Co. Ltd. (Red Sun), and Great Eastern Food Co. Ltd., who all shared their field expertise.
Good Young is one of the more popular bubble tea suppliers in Taiwan. It is best known for its line of milk tea powder, flavor syrups, and the ready-mix CASA Milky Flavor Tea and CASA Black Tea. Aside from raw materials, Good Young also offers various services for its business partners such as taste design, private labeling, OEM customization, and production technology training. Established in 1989, Good Young Co., Ltd. is a professional tea manufacturer and mainly supplies tea and coffee products to various food and beverage industries.
Meanwhile, Red Sun, an international tea brand known for its innovative beverages such as the Heineken Green Tea (a cold green tea mixed with Heineken beer) and its handmade tapioca balls or pearls, offered its franchise services to business owners in attendance. The company is greatly known in Taiwan for its innovative Heineken Green Tea, which made a historic record of 2.5 million cups sold in six months in 2005. The product, which was basically Heineken beer mixed with green tea, has a complex flavor profile topped with a beautifully frothy foam.
Finally, Great Eastern showcased its one-of-a-kind innovation to the now lucrative bubble tea industry, which first came to be in the 1980s. The company developed and exclusively produces 3Q Jelly Pearl, a pearl product made from naturally extracted Konjac (a kind of taro harvested directly from the mountains), natural seaweed, sugar, pectin, and Guar gum. It boasts a low-calorie count of only 70kcal/100g—perfect for the health-conscious milk tea and bubble tea fans—and can be widely used in various beverages.
Through the Taiwan Bubble Tea Pavilion, business owners and buyers at the Taiwan Expo 2019 got to see first-hand the integrity of the overall supply chain in the Taiwan bubble tea industry. At the end of the event, at least 35 Davao business owners have expressed interest in partnering with the Taiwan Bubble Tea Alliance for future endeavors. There were also numerous inquiries from other visitors about franchising popular bubble tea brands as well as establishing new concepts to make Taiwan bubble tea products more appealing and enjoyable for the Filipino market.
The Taiwan Bubble Tea Alliance and TAITRA are hopeful that this event could start more partnerships with Filipino entrepreneurs and promote the expansion and export of the bubble tea industry and culture to the Philippines. The exhibition also served as an excellent opportunity for business owners to connect with industry-leading Taiwan suppliers for potential partnerships.

George Town’s Super Steak: Raising the steaks to perfection
George Town’s Super Steak opens in Bonifacio Global City with the best view and superb meat offerings in town!
If youre into steaks, then I guess its about time you visit George Town's Super Steak in BGC. You'll love how they prepare it using the first in the Philippines Mibrasa oven.
This a new method and equipment from Spain brought by George Town’s Super Steak so diners can enjoy eating their meat more.
Imagine a steak served just the way you like it: The meat tender, moist, and flavorful, but with a smoky finish that teases the senses. This is what cooking with the Mibrasa oven can do. Or you can request for a hot mini stone , if you want it well-done.
This new restaurant, recently opened just in time for the holiday festivities, is brought to us by Mr. George Pua, the same man behind KPub BBQ, Ogawa traditional Japanese restaurant, Oppa Chicken, Rico’s Lechon and Thai BBQ. It is set to make dining out a more immersive and appealing experience with its revival of a tried-and-tested cooking technique, but updated to fit the contemporary diner’s taste and lifestyle.
Unlike the use of electricity or gas, the Mibrasa oven uses charcoal to cook food, taming the fire to simultaneously grill and roast meat, seafood, and even vegetables and bring out their rich flavors. Yet unlike the lengthy cooking time that using charcoal typically entails, Mibrasa ovens are quick and efficient, distributing heat evenly and keeping it consistent.
Super Steak Chef Jin Ho Yoo is excited for people to savor their dishes cooked through this method. “Cooking with the Mibrasa oven is the next generation for cooks like us,” he describes. With the oven’s capabilities, steaks are cooked precisely, the flavor and juiciness retained in the meat, even when the steak is made to “rest” before it gets served. “That’s what I call ‘next-level cooking.’ Surely, you’ve never tasted dishes cooked this way before, like a grilled roast steak with a smoky finish.”
Diners don’t have to wait long to enjoy their steaks too, because with a Mibrasa oven, a 375g. one-inch thick steak cooking time is reduced to half, significantly less time than the usual duration it takes on a pan or a grill. Chef Jin adds, “I glaze our steaks with brown butter, with the aromas of garlic and thyme.” Diners are then given a hot stone along with their medium rare steaks to customize how they prefer their meat to be done.
The Mibrasa method is also perfect for seafood because it keeps all their flavor and freshness intact. “You can taste the flavor of the sea like no other, and experience that great quality of the dish you ordered,” says Chef Jin. “Veggies also get that crunch, color, and smoky balance of flavors that satisfy your palate with every bite. Everything we cook in the Mibrasa oven achieves a different level of deliciousness with that smoky element.”
Super Steak guests will get to see the magic of the Mibrasa method, with the restaurant set up in a way that will allow chefs to show off how they cook each dish. “That’s something special to what we do, and we love showing off to patrons our skills, passion, and desire to give them great hospitality.” Chef Jin also believes that witnessing how their steaks are prepared will add to the diners’ enjoyment of their meals. “You get excited and start craving that scrumptious steak, waiting to savor all that umami flavor and smoky finish.”
George Pua, President of No Limits Food Inc. |
A big fan of the Mibrasa method, Mr. Pua believes that the public will fall in love with it too. “It is something that can cook you the best meat, seafood, and vegetables; how could you go wrong?” Everyone is about to find out and experience it for themselves as Super Steak opens its first branch.
For its opening promo, visit George Town Super Steak in BGC for dining deals such as Buy Wagyu Flank Steak and Get Half Slab of Ribs for P1,488, Buy 1 Get 1 on Full Spareribs for P1,245, and Buy 1 Get 1 Super Steak Signature Burger for P455.
George Town Super Steak is located at the 3rd level One Bonifacio High Street, 5th Avenue BGC. Operating hours: 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Sundays to Thursdays; 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. MIAA kicks off DisipliNAIA campaign to combat airport rudeness
Is civility really dead? Today’s fast-paced lifestyles have ushered in what New York Times calls the “Age of Rudeness” in many places all throughout the world -- and the airports are no exception with growing disregard for good manners and respect for others among passengers and airport workers.
For this reason, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) is embarking on a civility campaign called #DisipliNAIA to combat unacceptable airport behavior.
DisipliNAIA aims encourage people to become good airport citizens and to raise awareness about good manners and right conduct among all airport users – from MIAA employees and third party partners to passengers, transport services, and even to well-wishers.
From following the rule of the yellow lines, proper queueing and following airport security protocols, to picking up one’s trash and taking back one’s bag so that someone can take a seat, DisipliNAIA aims to correct many issues and problems airport users are dissatisfied about in the airport.
The brainchild of MIAA General Manager Ed Monreal, #DisipliNAIA is a campaign to return to Filipino positive values, especially respect for other people and mindfulness of one’s action at all times.
“We are going back to basics – basic in a sense na gawin natin ang tama, gawin ang nararapat, even when nobody is watching, even without people telling us what to do.” GM Monreal said.
From January to June 2019, NAIA saw traffic of over 60,000 international flights and 76,000 domestic flights, equivalent to 12.7 million international flight passengers and 11.6 domestic flight passengers.
Airports are places teeming with stress and emotions. Travelling, catching one’s flight, and saying goodbye to loved ones make airport citizens nervous and edgy, which turn quickly into irritability, shortness of temper, and disregard for rules and decency.
On social media, there is a huge clamor for order and discipline. It is not unusual that netizens post photos of bad airport behaviour, all asking in unison “Wala na ba tayong respeto? Kailangan natin ng disiplina.”
Coincidentally, the Department of Interior and Local Government has launched its own discipline initiative, while the Department of Education is contemplating to bring back GMRC (good manners and right conduct) subject in the basic curriculum.
“There may be cynics who would say that the initiative might not take off. Fine, but the important thing is we are doing something, we are responding to the demand of the times. Culture is difficult to change because as we all say, that’s what we grew up with. But if we are all in this together, nothing is impossible to achieve,” GM Monreal said.
CAMPAIGN COMPONENTS
#DisipliNAIA is basically composed of internal and external campaigns and forging of partnerships to rally support among all stakeholders.
Believing that it should all start from home, MIAA will conduct regular civility and service excellence workshops among thousands of its employees, partners, and stakeholders.
“There’s no intention of giving out memos,” GM Monreal assured the MIAA administration and staff. “That’s the reason why we’re having this DisipliNAIA. Even without penalties or sanctions, we should take upon ourselves our own responsibility to comply with what is required of us.”
Monreal added that it is expected of them to observe proper conduct as citizens and workers of the government, and that they should endeavor to be leaders by example. “Now that we’re launching this, I expect all of you to do as you preach, meaning walk-the-talk, follow the regulations, and be the examples and leaders for this advocacy.”
Airport users will also see many posters, videos, and billboards to remind them that they are in the #DisipliNAIA zone, and as such must observe respect and mindfulness towards other people and towards airport facilities.
Monreal said he hopes to inspire their partners to throw their all-out support towards this worthy cause and the perfect time is now. “We are one family in NAIA. That should be the mindset if we want to succeed in this endeavour.
“If not now, then when? If not us, then who else?” Monreal asked the administration and staff at an executive briefing, stressing one of the campaigns key messages and hashtags, #NowNa.

Spotify teams up with Jose Mari Chan and Tatak Pinoy All-Stars on First Asia-made Holiday Single
What is Christmas in the Philippines without Jose Mari Chan’s beautiful holiday songs ringing throughout the nation? Today, Spotify has partnered with this legendary crooner and some of the hottest OPM artists to deliver an early gift under the tree; a fresh rendition of his 1990 classic “A Perfect Christmas”.
Available exclusively to stream on Spotify as part of Spotify Singles: Holiday, “A Perfect Christmas” sees Jose Mari Chan teaming up with Ben&Ben, December Avenue, I Belong to the Zoo, Julie Anne San Jose and Moira Dela Torre who each bring their own unique sound to the track. The Single will feature on Spotify’s Paskong Pinoy playlist.
“We are thrilled to be working with Jose Mari Chan and these talented OPM artists for the launch of Spotify’s first Asia-made Holiday Single. Christmas is one of the biggest cultural moments in the Philippines and we want to celebrate it with our listeners,” says Kossy Ng, Artist & Label Marketing Lead, Spotify, Southeast Asia. She adds, “We kick-started 2019 with a relaunch of our flagship OPM playlist Tatak Pinoy and we’re excited to end the year with yet another big OPM moment, which is a testimony to our continued support to the thriving local music scene!”
Jose Mari Chan says, “When I recorded the track back in the 90s, I never dreamed that it would become the quintessential Christmas song it is today; that it would be listened to year after year and loved by generations. To me, the spirit of Christmas is being able to give and share your love and Christmas isn’t ‘perfect’ without someone special, someone you love.”
“This collaboration pays tribute to a holiday classic while reinventing what a Christmas special can be and we are so excited to be a part of its history,” says December Avenue. Moira Dela Torre adds, “The song is close to my heart. It has always been one of my favorite Christmas songs and now it feels even more special to me.”
Ben&Ben says, “We actually had the opportunity to do a cover of Jose Mari Chan’s song “Beautiful Girl” earlier this year for the Spotify Jams: OPM Love Songs campaign. Being able to collaborate with him on one of his Christmas classics is an absolute honour.”
For I Belong to the Zoo and Julie Anne San Jose, a perfect Christmas means being able to spend more time with family; celebrating the holidays with their loved ones. Julie Anne San Jose adds, “For me, Christmas is also about showing gratitude and being able to share and give your blessings to other people.”
"We are delighted to work together with Spotify, Jose Mari Chan, and the all-star line up to bring this reimagined version of "A Perfect Christmas" for the Christmas season. This collaboration has presented itself as the perfect opportunity to celebrate what makes it a well-beloved track, the amazing talent we have in the country, and the true reason behind the season," says Kathleen Dy-Go, Managing Director of Universal Records, Philippines.
For more festive cheer from the artists behind the Single, fans can look out for a special Tatak Pinoy All-Stars video coming soon to Spotify Philippines Facebook’s page.
