Where Japanese Craft Meets the Perfect Pour: Yakumi Introduces Sake and Wine Pairing at Solaire

This January 29, Yakumi at Solaire Resort Entertainment City presents an exclusive Sake & Wine Dinner from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The evening promises a relaxed yet refined culinary journey, featuring beautifully prepared Japanese dishes paired with meticulously selected lineup of premium sake and wine

Set during Japan’s sake brewing season, when colder months bring out deeper and more balanced flavors, the dinner features a six-course menu with four sake and two wine pairings. In collaboration with Philippine Wine Merchants, each pairing has been chosen to naturally complement the flavors of every dish, allowing both the food and the drinks to shine.

Guests are welcomed with a tuna-cutting ceremony, a fresh tuna tasting pass-around, and cocktails before enjoying a special menu by Executive Japanese Chef Jin Suzuki. Renowned for his mastery of Japanese cuisine, he elevates each dish through a thoughtful harmony of tradition, seasonality, and innovative technique. Rooted in decades of experience, every course showcases artistry, precision, and flavor, transforming the dining experience into an immersive journey through the depth and elegance of Japanese culinary culture.

Crab Sushi served with Bouchard Pere & Fils Pouilly Fuisse 2020.

Using seasonal ingredients and precise technique, the menu brings familiar flavors to life with thoughtful touches.  Highlights include Seared Toro, prized for its rich, melt-in-the-mouth texture, and Teppanyaki Wagyu Rump, cooked to bring out its natural depth and tenderness. The evening ends on a light and refreshing note with an amazake mousse paired with “Mio” sparkling sake.

Other dishes include Crab Sushi made with succulent king and blue crab meat, topped with egg yolk and served with truffle soy, paired with Bouchard Père & Fils Pouilly-Fuissé 2020. Alfonsino Arare-age is served crisp with bottarga powder and aosa sauce, paired with Solaire Junmai Daiginjo by Kagamiyama. Char-grilled Buri is marinated, gently grilled, and finished with roasted shichimi and ikura, paired with Daishichi Junmai Kimoto Classic.

Yakumi’s Sake & Wine Dinner is a one-night-only dining experience, perfect for those looking to enjoy Japanese flavors, fine pairings, and a memorable evening.
