BingoPlus Foundation Empowers Future Leaders Through P.L.U.S. Factor in FutureSmart Program

BingoPlus Foundation continues its mission of empowering young leaders through the P.L.U.S. (Pioneering Leadership and Uplifting Service) Factor, a sustaining engagement with its scholars under the FutureSmart Program.

BingoPlus Foundation concludes the Personal Branding session of the PLUS Factor, a leadership development program equipping scholars with mindsets, tools and competencies to prepare them for the workforce. This year, the Foundation opens at least ten (10) more scholarship slots in partnership with STI Foundation and SM Foundation.

2-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo gives an inspirational message to FutureSmart scholars and sends ArenaPlus signed merchandise to winners of the Personal Branding session’s OOTD Challenge.

Following the success of sessions on Growth Mindset and The Power of Habits in 2024, the social development arm of DigiPlus Interactive – home to beloved brands such as BingoPlus and ArenaPlus – hosted the latest session on February 22 with a focus on Personal Branding. The session taught scholars how to build confidence, enhance credibility, and stand out in a competitive landscape.

The hybrid event is designed for the Foundation’s 60 FutureSmart scholars nationwide. Adding inspiration to the session, Philippines’ only two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo made a virtual appearance, sharing motivational insights on staying focused on one’s goals.

“I hope your workshop with BingoPlus Foundation will serve as one of your tools in achieving the best version of yourselves. While branding and personal image are important, always remember that staying true and maintaining your authentic self are the real keys to success,” Yulo said. “Don’t ever lose who you are and always look back to your old self to appreciate your wins today while striving harder to get to where you want to be in the future,” he added.

To bring personal branding to life, scholars attending in person showcased their OOTD (Outfit of the Day)—expressing their unique styles and personalities. Steffi Fetalvero, recognized for the best OOTD, took home ArenaPlus merchandise signed by Yulo.

The P.L.U.S. Factor Program follows the Foundation's scholars in different stages of college life, equipping them with foundational mindsets, communication skills, productivity tools and leadership competencies before they enter the workforce.

The program will be extended to at least ten (10) new FutureSmart scholars for the upcoming academic year. Applications are currently being accepted through BingoPlus Foundation’s partners, SM Foundation and STI Foundation, with successful students enrolled in any of STI’s network of colleges nationwide.

Carlos Yulo Joins National Sports Academy Turnover, Celebrates Partnership with Jollibee in Support of Future Filipino Athletes

Two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo recently graced the National Sports Academy's ceremonial turnover, marking a significant milestone in Philippine sports development. The event, held in partnership with the beloved homegrown fast-food chain Jollibee, highlighted the Academy's commitment to nurturing young athletes and promoting excellence.

Yulo, an icon of gymnastics and a source of national pride, expressed his excitement in supporting the Academy's future stars. With Jollibee’s backing, this partnership symbolizes the growing collaboration between sports and private enterprises, fostering a new generation of Filipino champions.

With the goal to help build the next generation of world-class Pinoys and bring more joy to the global stage, Jollibee has pledged to donate PHP 5 million worth of sports equipment to the National Academy of Sports (NAS) in New Clark City, Capas, Tarlac.

The donation was made official during a Memorandum of Agreement signing event last September 18, 2024 at the Department of Education Complex in Pasig City. To celebrate the partnership, a ceremonial turnover event was held on October 7, 2024 at the NAS Tarlac campus, which was attended by executives from the Department of Education led by Secretary Sonny Angara, National Academy of Sports, Jollibee, local government officials, as well as Olympic double gold medalist Carlos Yulo.

To support homegrown Philippine sports talent, Jollibee is donating PHP 5 million worth of sports equipment to the National Academy of Sports (NAS) in New Clark City, Capas, Tarlac. By doing this, the emerging global fast-food chain aims to continuously champion Pinoy pride by helping build the next generation of world-class Pinoys. “As a world-class proudly Pinoy brand, we endeavor to continuously champion world-class Filipino talent and help them succeed on the global stage,” said Jollibee Philippines President Ferns Yu Jr,. For their part, DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara thanked Jollibee for being the first corporate partner of NAS. “Jollibee is the first private sector company to donate to the NAS and we’re very thankful for that. From starting as an ice cream parlor in Cubao, Jollibee grew into an outstanding tatak-Pinoy company,” he said in a mix of Filipino and English.

Jollibee’s donation of Php 5 million worth of sports equipment to the National Academy of Sports (NAS) was celebrated in a ceremonial turnover with (L-R):  Olympic Double Gold Medalist Carlos Yulo, Jollibee Philippines Vice President and Head of Marketing Dorothy Dee-Ching, Jollibee Philippines President Ferns Yu Jr., DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara, NAS Executive Director Josephine Joy Reyes, and Governor of Tarlac Province Susan Yap

“In honor of the historic feat of Team Philippines during the Paris Olympics, we are focusing our efforts in helping build the next generation of world-class Pinoys. This is why we are supporting institutions like NAS, whose aim is to develop homegrown Filipino sports talents. We’re proud and honored to partner with them in elevating Philippine sports and providing the needed training and resources to our young athletes who dream of making it big. As a world-class Filipino brand, Jollibee is committed to championing Pinoy pride and joy, whether it be in sports or in other fields,” said Ferns Yu, Jr., Jollibee Philippines President.

The ceremonial turnover kicked off with a performance from student-athletes of NAS that highlighted the different sports programs the academy offers. Carlos Yulo shared an inspirational speech addressed to aspiring national athletes, highlighting the importance of perseverance, heart, and a strong support system like NAS in helping them grow into champions that bear the Philippine flag with joy and pride.

“The journey may be difficult, but with hard work and the right support, there is nothing that can stop you from achieving your dreams and showing the world na kayang-kaya rin ng Pinoy,” said Yulo. “I’m thankful for institutions like NAS that give access to better training and facilities that build them up for success, and to Jollibee for championing Pinoy pride and for supporting the student-athletes. Sa susunod na mga taon, sigurado akong dadami pa ang mga Pilipinong atleta na magdadala ng karangalan sa bayan at makikilala sa buong mundo.”

Created by virtue of Republic Act 11470, the National Academy of Sports is an institution under the Department of Education that aims “to be at the forefront of global sports development and education, producing well-rounded student-athletes equipped with the ability and passion to become a source of national pride.”

To ensure holistic development for the students, the school implements an enhanced secondary education program integrated with a special curriculum on eight different sports, namely, aquatics, athletics, badminton, gymnastics, judo, table tennis, taekwondo, and weightlifting. With world-class facilities at par with international standards, highly qualified coaches, plus opportunities to compete internationally, student-athletes of NAS are provided with the tools they need to hone their craft and succeed.

"When we enter into new partnerships, we write better futures for our learners. This is only a small event but let us remember that this impacts generations of our learners. My wish is for our young athletes--the future Caloys, EJs, and Hidilyns--to succeed in their sports and to grace the podium with their heads held high for the country," said DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara.

In her speech during the MOA signing last month, National Academy of Sports Executive Director Josephine Joy Reyes expressed her gratitude for the partnership.

“The remarkable achievements of Filipino athletes like Carlos Yulo serve as shining examples of what we can accomplish with hard work and perseverance. Your support fuels that dream for many of our student-athletes. Jollibee indeed is not just a leading brand, but a true champion of the Filipino spirit. By investing in our school's sports programs, you're investing in the future Olympians, national champions, and leaders of tomorrow,” she said.

As a brand that has always advocated for Pinoy pride and excellence, Jollibee aims to continuously champion world-class Filipino talent, helping them excel in local and international stages and bring more joy to the country.
