Are you ready? Check out what’s in Moira’s shopping list this holiday season!

Finding the perfect holiday gifts for loved ones can be challenging for some people. Well, gift giving doesn’t come with no pressure since we only want to give our loves ones what’s best for them.

If you’re still looking for the ideal presents or rather need some inspiration, Filipina singer-songwriter Moira dela Torre shares her holiday gift ideas that are perfect for all ages and for every special person in your life!

Making it a merrier Christmas season, Home Credit recently launched The Great 0% Interest Festival, so every shopper can check out items from almost 10,000 partner stores nationwide. Customers can choose from more than 50,000 products available through Home Credit that they get at 0% interest until January 31, 2023.

Are you ready? Check out what’s in Moira’s shopping list this holiday season!

Gifts for learning and entertainment

Now is the time to reward hard-working children and inaanaks the gadgets they deserve. Gifting them the latest devices can help them not only study hard, but also enjoy little play time in between to maintain that school-life balance. Not to mention, in the new normal way of learning, smartphones, laptops and tablets, and accessories such as noise-canceling headphones have proven to optimize students’ educational experience, whether for physical classes and especially in hybrid learning.

New NBA season just began last month and this means you may find your dads and brothers with their eyes glued on screens. Investing in a high-quality smart TV at home can be an amazing present for sports fans in the household, as the whole family spends their time at home in the spirit of togetherness during the holidays. To top this off, gifting ate or bunso superb-quality Bluetooth speakers lets everyone party or just chill, anytime and anywhere.

Top tech brands to name a few – OPPO, realme, vivo, Samsung, Xiaomi, Acer, Apple, Huawei, and Asus all offer these gadgets that make the perfect study and play buddy. Not to worry, these brands and other Home Credit’s partner stores nationwide are part of the 0% interest festival for the best deal that you can get this season.

Presents for convenience and healthy living

Inverter technology has been quite an innovation that parents fancy for household appliances. Choosing inverter items over traditional appliances helps one save on energy and cost at home. This season of giving, gifting parents the latest appliances that would guarantee convenient living at home will surely have them enjoying the holidays and beyond.

Inverter refrigerator and air-conditioner are top choices for you to consider! As moms love spending time in the kitchen and making snacks for their families, with a cool and cost-efficient refrigerator in place they can keep their grocery foods in a safe storage to ensure the quality of each item.

While you’re at it, why not get an inverter air conditioner for the family so they can enjoy the cool room temperature during family reunions? An air conditioner will definitely be appreciated in a tropical weather country like the Philippines plus it is also environment-friendly and has lower power consumption.

Another important household appliance is owning a good quality washing machine. Give your titas a washing machine to help them save time by just simply putting their clothes on it, turning on the power and choosing their preferred cycle. It is more ideal than doing their laundry manually, a good way to show how you value their convenience.

Home workouts saw an increase in demand during the pandemic. Surprise your fitness enthusiast sibling or significant other by gifting them a punching bag, dumbbells, yoga mat or go big and fulfill their home gym dream by gifting them with an indoor cycling bike or treadmill as a present this Christmas. Having these fitness equipment at home can let them maximize their workouts at home, to keep them fit and healthy.

Get these home appliances and fitness equipment from Home Credit’s retail partners such as SM Appliances, Robinsons Appliances, Abenson, FC Home, Home Along, AllHome, Emcor, and Automatic Centre.

Curated holiday presents for a more personal touch

Looking for a more creative option for holiday gifting? Try creating your very own holiday gift package! For your coworkers who just had a baby, put in some nice items for infants, toys and clothing in a ribbon-tied box for the complete Christmasy feel. Keep up with the Pros: Make the MaxPro Choice

Sore throat continues to be a common illness that recurrently affects a lot of people. Experts have determined that in the past 12 months, at least 6 out of every 10 people have experienced sore throat. And with sore throat being a major symptom of COVID-19, especially for the Alpha, Delta, and Omicron   variants, the market demands an effective, more convenient, faster acting, and long-lasting relief from sore throat.

Although there’s a host of sore throat solutions like throat sprays and gargles, the most preferred medical treatment for sore throat is still the lozenge which boasts of clinically proven strong efficacy, which works directly in the throat to reduce local inflammation providing deep down, long-lasting relief.

In the Philippines, sore throat relief has become synonymous with one lozenge brand: Strepsils. Trusted by millions across the globe to soothe and protect the throat, Strepsils recently highlighted  Flurbiprofen (Strepsils MaxPro) via an online event  “KEEPING UP WITH THE PROS: MAKE THE MAXPRO CHOICE”.  The online event showcases Flurbiprofen (Strepsils MaxPro) which is a lozenge intended to provide 4 in 1 relief for severe sore throat sufferers. It combines the power of Flurbiprofen, a painkiller and anti-inflammatory with the local action of a lozenge to help reduce inflammation and relieve sore throat pain. What’s more, it works in as fast as 60 seconds, with an effect that lasts up to 6 hours!

Seasoned presenter Issa Litton hosted the event with guest medical expert, Dr. Tess Jimenez discussing the symptoms, causes and remedies of sore throat.  In keeping up with the theme, the event featured known PROS from various fields who balance a thriving career, health, and personal life; and how they successfully adapted to life during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Celebrity guest Ms. World 2013 Megan Young recounted her life experiences and discussed how she takes care of her throat and how she keeps it healthy with Strepsils like a pro. Megan narrates: “I realized yung similarities of Flurbiprofen (Strepsils MaxPro)’s 4 in 1 action in my lifestyle. The many facets of my daily life can only be fulfilled if I have the utmost physical strength and health. Sa dami ng kailangan gawin, there’s only one thing that can make all those possible - and that’s being at my MAX health. Isa sa mga natutunan ko from Doc Tess also is that we shouldn’t ignore the small signs, these are the signals from our body that we need to listen to. Pero in the case of sore throat, if hindi na maiwasan maging severe siya, we always have Flurbiprofen (Strepsils MaxPro) we can count on.”

Singer-songwriter Moira Dela Torre, who performed and graced the event, also shared: “It’s not a secret that in my profession, there’s really a need to take care of my health, especially when it comes to my throat. Kaya mula noon, hanggang ngayon, when I get severe sore throat, I take Flurbiprofen (Strepsils MaxPro) 4 in 1 action to help relieve my inflamed throat! So, for those of you who are the same as me, you need a partner in making sure you are well taken care of especially now that we really need protection. Make the MaxPro CHOICE.”

Flurbiprofen (Strepsils MaxPro) comes in a convenient 8s pouch pack and a 16s blister pack. With its unique mode of action and strong science in providing relief for moderate to severe sore throat, Flurbiprofen (Strepsils MaxPro) does not just “kill the pain”, it also helps treat inflammation.

Pag-ibig ang Pipiliin: Get ready to be inspired to choose love this Valentine’s season

The most streamed Filipina artist on Spotify Moira Dela Torre collaborates with PLDT Home for the music video of her latest single “Pag-ibig ang Piliin,” composed and arranged by award-winning songwriter Jonathan Manalo. As the voice for PLDT Home’s campaign this Valentine’s Day, Moira once again captivates the hearts with a song that speaks the true meaning of love.

In its Valentine’s Campaign, PLDT Home highlights the importance of choosing to love amidst all circumstances and challenges. While the internet and social media have become important platforms for free expression and open dialogue, the #ChooseToLove campaign reminds everyone to always choose love over hate, divisiveness, fear and rejection.

This new song is a bright ray of light that is much needed today. It tells us that love is the most powerful choice through its moving lines.

“Kahit na ‘di natin alam ang bukas

Kahit ‘di sumikat ang araw at bumuhos ang ulan

Kahit hindi umayon ang tadhana

Isang tawag mo lang, pupuntahan nasaan ka man.

Ganyan ang tunay na pag-ibig ‘di takot sa mundo

Ipaglalaban kita hanggang sa dulo

Pag-ibig ang pipiliin ko.”

Moira notes that she was “honored to be chosen by PLDT Home” to sing this new song. She continues that the message of the song is what she has been trying to embody in the many years that she has been an artist.

Songwriter and music arranger Jonathan Manalo shares that the main message of the song highlights the ultimate power of love that changes and conquers all. He says, “This a love song that puts emphasis on ‘Love’ that is worth fighting for. Love against all odds, even if the world seems to disapprove, no one can question the power of a person’s great true love. When you choose to fight for love, it is the ultimate power, nothing, no one can stand in your way.” The song was also co-written by singer-songwriter Trisha Denise.

PLDT Home encourages everyone to inspire and cultivate positivity because the strongest connections are made with love

The song "Pag-ibig ang Pipiliin" by Moira dela Torre has the power to make you weep and feel. It simply brings back memories of how I fought for the love of my life.

PLDT Home brings the message of hope and love this Valentine’s Day through the award-winning singer-songwriter Moira Dela Torre at the forefront. In her newest single, ‘Pag-ibig ang Pipiliin,’ Moira once again tugs the hearts of her fans through an inspiring theme of how love can build the strongest connection.

Moira dela Torre chooses love as the main message for her brand-new music ‘Pag-Ibig ang Pipiliin’, written and arranged by award-winning songwriter Jonathan Manalo and co-written by Trisha Denise. Moira shares that she ‘feels honored’ for being chosen by PLDT Home for this campaign. She says, “The message of this song embodies what I have been advocating for these past few years. Choosing love and positivity, and now we made it into a song!”

The song tells us that despite the challenges and difficulties of love in the real world, one can always choose to connect the right way. That’s why this Valentine’s Day, PLDT Home also encourages everyone to inspire and cultivate positivity because the strongest connections are made with love.

With “Choose to Love” as the theme of her newest Valentine’s song, Moira shares her life’s personal connection to the soundtrack. In her latest social media post, she says, “Every morning, I wake up to a man who chooses to love me…But then this guy knocks. Every single day. Knocks until I open the door. Hugs me ‘til I’m out of tears. Takes care of me ‘til I’m well. Prays with me when I can’t find hope for myself. And for that, I find myself so thankful. What I’ve learned from marriage is that love is a choice – a very beautiful and brave choice to make every single morning.”

Winning her way into the hearts of her fans by the sheer beauty and honesty of her songs over the years, Moira’s journey to fame was not an easy one. Much like her music, it was filled with challenges, heartbreak, and letting go. But true love does not give up, and neither did she.

In 2018, Moira released a song entitled ‘Malaya’. Shattering hearts and records alike, this hit-single propelled Moira and her mastery of songwriting into greater heights. A multitude of listeners all claim that Moira’s songs hit more than just the right note, but that they spoke straight to the heart and echo the feelings and stories of those that listened to them. The hits continued to pour out; ‘Tagpuan’, ‘Ikaw at Ako’, ‘Paubaya’ and many other songs started to pull at the heartstrings of fans and established Moira as a genuine artist.

Powered by PLDT Home, Moira’s fans and online listeners can eagerly catch Moira’s latest single ‘Pag-ibig ang Pipiliin’ on PLDT Home’s Facebook and YouTube channels.

Disney Philippines introduces a new voice to Mulan’s iconic song as it connects to today’s generation of Disney fans

Captivating generations of Disney fans, “Reflection” has been a powerful ballad that breathed life into the narrative of Disney’s “Mulan.” Written and produced by Matthew Wilder and David Zippel, "Reflection" holds a special place in the hearts of many Filipinos for decades.

Just as much the 2020 reimagined version of Mulan is set to release in Philippine cinemas in a few weeks, Disney Philippines introduces a new voice to Mulan’s iconic song as it connects to today’s generation of Disney fans. Deemed as the most streamed Filipina artist, Disney Philippines has collaborated with Moira de la Torre on a localized version of the film’s most endeared song, “Reflection.”

Attendees during the listening party were among the first to hear Moira’s rendition of “Reflection” and were also given a special sneak peek into the upcoming music video.

When asked how Moira felt when she discovered that Disney is tapping her to sing “Reflection” for fans in the Philippines, the songstress said, “I became very emotional, because ‘Reflection’ is very special to me. It’s the first-ever song I performed in public, and also the first full song that I learned on my own. It basically launched my love for music.”

Moira also shared how the song perfectly reflects how her life has been. “It's funny how it speaks about self-doubt and questioning who you see on the mirror every day. That's basically me, but every time I feel that happening now, I feel braver. This song came back at a perfect time in my life, and I could only be happy and grateful."

To her, being able to give justice to the iconic song would be a great honor, knowing how this can inspire and empower today’s generation of young Filipino girls.

Disney’s “Mulan” arrives in Philippine theaters on March 25, 2020. Join the conversations online at #MulanPH.

Avida celebrates 25 years with Tunog Natin! Songs from Home

Johnoy Danao

I have been a Johnoy Danao fan dubbed as the "Philippines Best Kept Secret" for 2 years now,  I accidentally discovered him singing covers at DJ Mo Good Times radio show.  DJ Mo seemed to love him as he kept on featuring Johnoy on his podcast show, this was the time when DJ Mo was mending a broken heart.  After that I have been downloading his covers from time to time. Songs like Fix you, Cry, Someone like you, Marry Me, The Scientist,  and many more acoustic covers to his credit.  Its his throaty, sweet and appealing voice that hooked me listening to all those covers. When I learned that "Ikaw at Ako" was his original. I fell in love with this guy instantly.

I got an invite to Tunog Natin, Songs from Home partners with Avida  held at the Avida Showroom in Glorietta 4 last October 13, the launch was hosted by Tunog Natin Creative consultant  Jim Paredes and graced by Chris Cahilig, Princess Velasco, Project Officer Anjo Resurreccion, Producer Jonathan Ong and Avida Representatives Tess Tatco and Anne Jarra and my favorite Johnoy Danao who sang "Ikaw at Ako" to the delight of everyone.

Avida celebrates 25 years by launching Tunog Natin! Songs from Home, which features OPM sang by their chosen artists with different arrangement. It also includes Avida’s anniversary soundtrack “Home is Here”, which is an original composition sung by  Johnoy Danao.

You can download  Tunog Natin and listen to the entire album at Spotify and Itunes.

Home is truly where the heart is, and there is nothing like home-grown music to stir your emotions and always transport you back to its familiar comfort. In celebration of the sound of inspiration in Original Pilipino Music (OPM), Avida launched the second edition of Tunog Natin! Songs from Home through Soundscape Sessions, an afternoon of sounds and socials held at the Avida Showroom in Glorietta 4.

The second edition of Tunog Natin! Songs from Home, featuring a collection of classic Original
Pinoy Music performed by some of the country’s homegrown talents, was launched in line with
Avida’s 25th anniversary celebration of Inspiring Lives. Pictured above are the people behind the
project, (L-R) Tunog Natin artist Johnoy Danao, Tunog Natin Album Producer Jonathan Ong,
Tunog Natin artist Princess Velasco, Avida Marketing Head Tess Tatco, Tunog Natin Creative
Consultant Jim Paredes, and Tunog Natin Project Officer Anjo Resurreccion.

Much like the debut album, Tunog Natin! Songs from Home Volume 2 will again feature the passion and artistry of some of the best local artists of today and well-loved OPM songs with an emotional appeal that can transcend generations. Independent singer-songwriter Johnoy Danao gave attendees a taste of the uplifting music packed in the album during the launch. While, the creative team behind the masterpiece, award-winning composer and arranger Jonathan Ong and Jim Paredes, sat out for a bit of chat with the guests.

Tunog Natin! Sounds from Home is Avida’s contribution in promoting local music. Aside from the participation of veteran artists, the commemorative album also introduces promising talents that are bound to make a mark in the local music scene. It features renditions of popular OPMs from Jim Paredes, Bloomfields, Johnoy Danao, Moira Dela Torre, and Princess Velasco, to name a few.

The album is in line with Avida’s mission to keep the Filipino heritage alive, as part of its ongoing Inspired Living campaign, which extends support to the essential artistic foundations that make a community. And the second edition of Tunog Natin! could not have been more apt as Avida celebrates 25 years of inspiring possibilities, as it pays homage to the nation through music that connects us all.

In line with Avida’s 25th anniversary efforts to promote local talents, all the songs from the Tunog Natin! Vol. 2 album will be made available for listening and free download in local and international music portals like Spotify and iTunes.

Avida is also launching the album during its festive anniversary celebration on October 14, through a free Tunog Natin concert where select local artists will perform OPM hits. Tasty fare from food booths and great music await as the concert is open to the public 8PM onwards at 34th St. corner 9th Ave (beside Turf BGC) in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Avida will also put the spotlight on local artists through another public concert in November.
