Doctors, hospitals, and mental health advocates rally behind National mWellness Day

With only a few more days to go before National mWellness Day, a growing number of volunteer doctors, health experts and mental health advocates join forces with mWell for the biggest nationwide online medical mission.

mWell by Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (PSE: MPI), the Philippines’ fastest-growing health app, brings healthcare closer to Filipinos nationwide as it provides free online consultation via the mWell app on August 27-28. This program is mWell’s response to the need for medical advice to help our countrymen rebuild their lives in the new normal.

The event first held in September 2021 is now made even bigger with a wider number of family doctors, specialists, and even mental health experts from all over the country—on call for free, for every Filipino.

Doctors from Makati Medical Center Foundation and Makati Medical Center Wellness Center have volunteered their time to provide free online consultation via the mWell PH app. Recognizing the importance of holistic well-being, mental health experts from MindNation have signed up to offer free counselling. Aside from volunteer doctors, National mWellness Day 2022 is made even stronger by diverse partnerships in one fully integrated platform. Among those powering up the advocacy are MPIC Foundation, as well as top insurance companies-- PhilCare and Generali. Unilab, MedExpress, 24 Alkaline-C and PiCur antioxidant are also on board.

Free video consultation and more!

National mWellness Day, mWell’s flagship advocacy, is part of MPIC’s sustainability mission to make quality healthcare accessible for all. On the event dates, anyone can talk to an expert from the comforts of home—for free! Participants simply need to download mWell PH app, register, click the National mWellness Day banner, and use the Health Pass code: FREECONSULT. They can then choose from volunteer primary care doctors, specialists, and mental health experts. After the consultation, the doctor shall provide medical certificate,        e-prescription, referrals for tests—all for free, right on the app.

Pulling out all the stops, mWell has prepared additional health rewards for the first one hundred patients who will consult for free: vitamin vouchers from MedExpress, with free shipping. They will also receive free laboratory exams including x-ray and complete blood count, and emergency outpatient coverage valid for one year from PhilCare.

Doctors and clinics all over the country are welcome to be part of the National mWellness Day to reach more patients nationwide and provide them with accessible, responsive, and convenient medical care. It takes less than an hour to sign up via www.mwell.com.ph. Only PRC ID is required.

Building momentum to accelerate positive change in healthcare with mWell

Filipinos no longer need to bear the burden of outdated medical care. The whole country was given respite from the worries of getting quality medical care with National mWellness Day by mWell, the country’s only fully integrated health and wellness mobile app.

Kara David, founder of Project Malasakit, hosted the online event in the National mWellness Day culminating activity states, “As caretakers, guardians, or as a parent, the anxiety and challenges of getting quality medical care is heightened especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The first ever virtual medical mission by mWell PH brings health and wellness closer to people. Nakakalungkot, subalit totoong may kakulangan sa healthcare para tugunan ang pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan.

(“It’s disheartening to note that there is a lack of quality healthcare needed by Filipinos.”)

On September 4 and 5, 2021, the first nationwide online medical mission in the Philippines took place via the mWell app by Metro Pacific Health Tech Corporation (MPHTC), which provided free consultations with primary care and specialized doctors.

Despite hectic schedules in the medical field at this time of crisis, a number of doctors willingly gave their time and expertise to a bigger mission, and this is giving the gift of wellness to Filipinos. With the medical community, mWell is transforming the country’s digital health landscape by providing professional consultations, medical diagnosis, care and treatment plans.

A volunteer obstetrician and gynecologist, Dr. Melani Camarillo Espino explained how she adjusted to the pandemic by transitioning from limiting her clinic calls to telemedicine so that she can be contacted anytime, anywhere. Using the mWell platform, her initial apprehension was cleared because she discovered how user-friendly it is and technical support was prompt. She recommended it to her patients.

“Using mWell is just like making a private house call with my patients from the comforts of their homes. The flow of my virtual consultations are smooth, plus I gained more patients through the app.” said Dr. Espino. Being one of the volunteers for National Wellness Day, she wants to reach out to more patients even in remote areas who are afraid to go out, and provide quality and accessible health care via the use of mWell app.

Building momentum to accelerate positive change in healthcare, mWell now features 24/7 doctor on-call services. Filipinos can consult with a doctor anytime through the mWell app with online teleconsultations from a roster of general practitioners and specialty doctors nationwide. Get much-needed access to health professionals from the safety and comfort of home.
