Puregold Channel Presents 'Si Sol at Si Luna' Starring Jane Oineza and Zaijian Jaranilla

The Puregold Channel is set to captivate audiences once again with Si Sol at Si Luna, a heartwarming series that promises to tug at your emotions and keep uou hooked.  Starring the dynamic duo of Jane Oineza and Zaijian Jaranilla. the show explores the everyday highs and lows of love, life, and family through the lens of two unforgettable characters.

Helmed by acclaimed director Dolly Dulu and produced by multi-awarded filmmaker Chris Cahilig, Si Sol at Si Lunabrings a fresh, emotional depth to the Puregold Channel’s growing roster of digital storytelling. With its relatable themes and compelling performances, the series is shaping up to be a must-watch affair—one that speaks to the heart of every Filipino viewer.

Following the breakout digital hits ‘My Plantito’ and ‘Ang Lalaki sa Likod ng Profile’, Puregold Channel has stepped confidently into the realm of cinematic-scale storytelling with its newest offering: ‘Si Sol at Si Luna’. The series was unveiled in a star-studded press conference held on May 16 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City, making a quantum leap in Puregold’s journey as a force in Filipino digital entertainment.

In ‘Si Sol at Si Luna’, Zaijian Jaranilla and Jane Oineza shed their child-star images for roles steeped in emotional complexity and adult vulnerability, a distinct first for both actors. It’s a career-defining turn for Jaranilla, compelling him to deliver his most mature performance yet in his first intimate scene—a bold moment not just for him but for Philippine retailtainment.

However, the series’ real power lies beyond the sensual as it explores grief, longing, and the uncomfortable space between connection and timing. As Sol, a film student seeking creative spark, falls for the older, emotionally scarred Luna, their relationship forces a confrontation with the hard truths of age, loss, and love that doesn’t fit the mold.

For Puregold Senior Marketing Manager Ivy Hayagan-Piedad, the wistful insights depicted in ‘Si Sol at si Luna’ are what make it more than just your garden variety romcom.

“At its core, the series is about love—but not the kind that comes easy,” says Hayagan-Piedad. “It asks: Where do we find love? What do we do with it when it comes at the most unexpected time? Luna’s story is about loving through grief. Sol’s is about loving through transformation. Whether love can survive both—that’s the question the audience will ponder on.”

With ‘Si Sol at Si Luna’, Puregold Channel is staking its claim as a powerhouse content studio—one that blends commercial value with creative boldness. This is where sharp writing meets honest emotion. Where full-length narratives meet bite-sized platforms. And where every Filipino, no matter where they are, can watch themselves reflected in stories worth telling.

Visibly excited at the press conference were the series leads Zaijian Jaranilla and Jane Oineza, as well as supporting members of the star-studded cast, including Joao Constancia, Uzziel Delamide, Vaughn Piczon, Lyle Viray, Jem Manicad, Marnie Lapus, and the breakout star, Atasha Franco.

‘Si Sol at si Luna’ will drop its very first episode on the Puregold Channel on YouTube on May 31, with a new episode set to be released every Saturday thereafter.

GVBOYS reaches close to 1M views in just two episodes

Because life can be overwhelming, we need every bit of fun we can get. This is the heart and soul of the Puregold Channel. Its "shoppertainment" concept, which combines shopping and retail, brings fun and happiness to Filipinos households in these challenging times.

"GVBOYS: Pangmalakasang Good Vibes," which has eight episodes plus two special ones, is the Puregold Channel's first digital series. True to its title, the series is filled with good vibes and Puregold Channel subscribers and followers have enjoyed the first two episodes so much that combined views on the Facebook page and YouTube channel have already surpassed 900,000!

"GVBOYS: Pangmalakasang Good Vibes" stars three promising young actors--Jerome Ponce, Nikko Natividad and Dave Bornea-- and comedians Wilma Doesn't and Elsa Droga.  Playing Aling Pearly, who owns the boarding house that Daks, Zeus and Jawo (played by Bornea, Ponce and Natividad) are living in, is actress Carmi Martin, who was part of the successful "Chicks to Chicks" sitcom in the 1980s.

"GVBOYS: Pangmalakasang Good Vibes" was inspired by 1990s sitcoms, specifically "Palibhasa Lalaki," hence the boarding house concepts.

But beyond the inspiration from 1990s sitcoms, "GVBOYS: Pangmalakasang Good Vibes" has its own identity and brand of fun.

In Episode 1, which was aired on July 10, we were introduced to Jawo (Ponce) and Daks (Natividad) who are boarders in the house of the half-Korean Aling Pearly. Kathryn B (Elsa Droga) is Aling Pearly's half-brother.

We also meet Zeus, Aling Pearly's godson from the US, who also stays in the boarding house. There is s a bit of a ruckus when Jawo, Daks and Kathryn B suspect that Zeus is gay but that's soon settled, and they decide to be friends.

But all isn't well as they discover that Aling Pearly has borrowed some money with the boarding house as collateral and lended Loisa Soberano (played by Wilma Doesn't) wants her money or the house.

In the second episode, which aired on July 17, Jawo, Daks and Zeus vow to help Aling Pearly in whatever way they can. With Kathryn's help, Jawo gets a job as a movie extra. He plays a zombie in the movie but because he's a narcoleptic, Jawo falls asleep while filming. Dax finds a job online but it apparently it leads somewhere unsavory. Zeus tries to sell his stuff online, but he ends up dancing before the highest bidders.

They also find out that Zeus' parents have hired and paid for the services of a House Angel to help him with house chores. The name of the House Angel is Avana and when she arrives, Jawo and Daks become infatuated with her.

Meanwhile, Loisa continues to hound Aling Pearly for payment and the boys think of making her fall in love with one of them.

In the end, it is Jawo who goes on a date with Loisa and it appears that he has fallen in love with her.

New Puregold entertainment channel premieres on September 19

Challenging and trying as the times may be, it is probably in our nature to try and find something that might give us that much needed lift in spirits. Whether it's busying ourselves with new-found hobbies, reconnecting with friends, or simply binge-watching movies, it's all about finding that pleasant diversion that reassures us that better days will come soon.

Puregold recognizes this hopeful spirit as it continues to look after every Filipino's welfare amidst these uncertain times. As online consumption grows brought about by the "stay home" lifestyle, Puregold has contemplated venturing in this space to further reach out to its public. But this time, it sets out beyond being a retailer as we know it to be and explores the world of bringing entertainment to Filipinos.

Enter the Puregold Channel. A groundbreaking move to further expand Puregold’s digital footprint and engage shoppers. With the rise of video content and live streaming, Puregold shall use Facebook and Youtube to house its own program offerings aimed at bringing entertainment that caters to a wide variety of interests. It will also provide opportunities for branded messaging and segments, sale offers, and ultimately an instant link to frictionless transactions.

Viewers will be hooked and engaged with content recurring in a weekly time slot - from a cooking show, to a comedy show to a full-on game show.

A lot of individuals have recently tried their hand at cooking. Online instruction videos notwithstanding, The Puregold Channel introduces "Luto Mo, Negosyo Mo, Panalo!" as a unique way of presenting culinary lessons. Hosted by TV Personality Arra San Agustin, the show features easy-to-follow recipes. Done in a casual and light manner, even the "non-experts" should be able to relate and stay on track. What's more, a part of the program will be about how to get into the entrepreneurship side of food preparation, indeed a growing trend these days.

It has been said that "laughter is the best medicine". In these times, surely a lot of us would agree. The Puregold Channel sees the value in looking at the lighter side of life and so another program will serve just the thing. Called "The Ha Ha Hour", this comedy-themed show will feature the sought-after brand of humor of popular lounge comic Alex Calleja. Those who have seen his performances both live and online will surely attest to a potentially riotous time.

And of course, who doesn't want to win prizes? To make it more exciting, how about being an actual game show contestant right at your own home? Game shows might be a dime a dozen, but not when you have Luis Manzano as host. The promisingly fun "Playtime Panalo" is all that. Online subscribers will have the chance to be chosen as home partners and live out their game show contestant dreams and play for exciting prizes. Joining Luis are equally entertaining co-hosts—their hilarious banter alone will surely knock the socks off of even non-contestants!
