Google is celebrating your favorite drink milk tea, with a fun interactive Doodle

There’s a new Google Doodle in town and this one celebrates the almost universal popularity of milk tea (or bubble tea)!

To say that Filipinos love milk tea is an understatement. With its cool, refreshing taste, coupled with fun, delightful sinkers such as chewy pearls, pudding, jelly, or even ice cream, the Philippines has officially embraced the beverage as an everyday feel-good staple.

One of the proponents of the craze in Metro Manila is Serenitea, which opened its first branch in San Juan in December 2008. Since then, many local and international chains popped up including Chatime, Gong Cha, Tiger Sugar, and more, giving Filipinos their own spin on the beloved beverage.

In 2019, the Philippines ranked second among the countries with the most milk tea drinkers in Southeast Asia. A food delivery survey found that Filipinos consume an average of five cups of milk tea in a month. That’s significantly greater than Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam’s average of three cups in a month per drinker!

It’s not just the Philippines, the world has fallen in love with this Taiwanese concoction that the market is now worth $2.02 billion in 2022 and is expected to reach $3.39 billion by 2027.

Google is celebrating the beloved drink with a fun, interactive Doodle that allows you to create your own milk tea concoctions and run your own shop.

In this interactive Doodle, you are playing as a dog who runs a milk tea cart. It’s a rainy day and you’re pushing your milk tea cart and setting up shop. It’s the perfect day for a cup of milk tea as the sweet drink and the sinkers are sure to cheer you up in such gloomy weather.

Create yummy customized drinks for five different customers by combining the ingredients–black/white pearls, tea, and sweet syrup–in specific amounts. Tap on your mouse or screen until you fill along the dashed line. Once the cup is filled with all three ingredients, it’s ready to serve!

This will be done 4 more times to serve the other customers. Your served drink is also given a star rating based on how precisely you fill the cup per ingredient.

Celebrate your love for milk tea and check out the Doodle now on Google Search!

R&B Tea is now ready to Share a Cup-Of-Happiness via Drive-thru in Retiro

When you’ve got a blog name like mine--LemonGreenTea, people immediately assume that you love tea--and they’d be right of course.

But what most people (including my friends) often get wrong is that I don’t just drink “milk tea,” and often prefer brewed teas most of the time.

I’ve given up soda and fruit juices for years and switched into brewed teas when I want my drink cold. I’m not particular about the brand as long as its not sweet and I could still taste the tea leaves--I’m hooked.

And when I do order my teas, I always request zero sugar, because the boba or pearls are sweet enough to add to the flavor of oolong, black or green tea. The sweetness of the  pearls somehow balances out the bitterness of the tea leaves and it gives that flowery taste--that  perfect tea blend which I love.

But I’d be lying if I say I don’t give in to my milk tea cravings once in a while, just to see why people are going crazy about cream cheese, boba pearls or any sinkers or any new blend for that matter.

I think I’ve have tried all milk tea stores here in Manila and their best-selling flavors, and as I often share on my posts, there was a day that I drank 5 kinds of teas when we were in Taiwan.

I also remember that one time in Singapore at the Marina Bay Sands Mall, and I saw this shop called R&B Milk Tea House. I’ve heard of it before and I wasn’t going to waste the opportunity to try it.  I ordered their bestseller Milk tea with brown sugar pearls and cheese brulee.  I loved that their boba pearls are bouncy, soft and chewy, and its texture complimented the milk tea brulee. Surprisingly, its wasn’t that sweet and I finished my drink without even noticing it.

So imagine my excitement when I heard that R&B Milk Tea was already in Manila, and was opening their first drive-through store in Retiro beside Shakeys Restaurant. This is good news to all Milk Tea lovers from Manila who are craving for milktea but don’t want to line up instore

One of Singapore’s leading Milk Tea brands has finally arrived in the Philippines - R&B Milk Tea! R&B stands for the initials of Rex and Bruce, who created the brand while working in China.

There are more than 1,000 R&B stores across the world with presence in US, Vietnam, Cambodia, Australia, Malaysia and Indonesia.

As a newly acquired brand under the Shakey’s Pizza Asia Ventures, Inc. including Shakey’s and Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken & Sauce Bar, R&B Tea Philippines has a strong bias for quality products coupled with its Wowing service culture in a clean, fun and comfortable environment.

R&B is a Tea concept that aims to redefine the tea experience today, with fresh fruits and all natural components, the tea-base concoctions ranging from macchiato tea capped with cheese cream to signature Brown Sugar Boba series.

R&B places great emphasis on the origins of the tea leaves and delicate preparations to ensure the perfect tea blend. R&B Tea Retiro is located in 155 APO Street Corner N5 Amoranto Sr. Ave. Quezon City Philippines, please visit the store and order via dine-in and carryout. Taking the leadership in the service innovation, R&B Retiro also take its claim as the 1st Milk Tea store with Drive Thru service in the country today

I"Milky PH brings Taiwan's authentic flavors to Manila

If there is one thing you cannot miss out in Taiwan, its bubble tea. You can find different stalls in every corner of the street in Ximending. That was the place where my hotel was located last year.

There is a tea for every one, every concoctions however weird that is, taste creamy and delicious. There is that one stall that my partner loves because it has the best tapioca pearls – they’re chewy and provide just the right amount of sweetness to the drink. I tell you, its all worth the calories hahaha.

Believe it or not, we downed 4 to 5 cups a days in 6 days, tea hopping. Making sure that we have ordered every stall's bestsellers.

There is  a tea for everyone , whether its simple or traditional type of tea, milky, fruity or with taro. Thankful that Taiwan's premium milk tea goodness is now closer to home with iMilky Philippines

If youre a first timer and a fan of Brown Sugar, I suggests you order their Bestseller Brown Sugar Pearl Milk for only P120 and their Strawberry Milk, p185 for a medium cup.

If you want your cup healthy like I do, omit the milk and order a soya milk variant for a change with no sugar.  You can always customize your order. I tried their black tea with lemon and it tastes healthy, you can actually taste the tea leaves. But that is just me.

According to GrabFood estimated that Southeast Asians drink four cups of bubble tea per person per month. Thailand landed at the top of the list followed closely by Filipino consumers who reportedly drink five cups of bubble tea per person per month.

Pure and authentic. The taste of Taiwan’s premium milk tea goodness is now closer to home with iMilky Philippines.

Driven by the ‘less is more’ philosophy, I’Milky focuses on a pure and unassuming lifestyle, perfectly captured by a strict adherence to quality, natural ingredients, devoid of artificial components. Each sip is freshly crafted to ensure the best drinking experience, until the last drop.  With ingredients carefully sourced from Taiwan, Premium milk tea cravings are now just a drive away.

I’Milky’s curated menu features delightful flavors such as Taro Milk Tea, Natural Brown Sugar Milk Tea, and Strawberry Milk Tea. Fresh tea and soy-based options are also available, adding variety into the mix.

The I’Milky store concept is also a sight to behold, designed to be a perfect haven for avid milk tea aficionados, with its minimalist interior, and light and airy atmosphere. The unassuming lifestyle is present not just in the drinks themselves, but the entire space, allowing you to just enjoy every sip, and every moment.

“We are so excited to bring a healthy, delicious, and truly authentic milk tea experience here in the Philippines. What’s so good about I’Milky is our passion for the simple and natural. No fuss, no drama, just a drink that you’d definitely crave for.” Says Roxanne Farillas. “Our goal is always to elevate and expand our customer’s drink experience, and bring a slice of wonderful places like Taiwan, and their amazing drink culture, closer to home.”

Discover the premium milk tea goodness at TriNoma, Robinsons Place Manila, and Ayala North Exchange and will soon open more stores across the country.

This is my instant favorite the Blueberry Aloe Vera. No sugar added (or you can request for stevia).

When you had a taste of legit  milk teas/ fruit/brewed teas in Taiwan. You know you'll keep coming back for more. We had our short but sweet vacation in Taiwan last November. We stayed in the Ximending area. We enjoyed our tea hopping and tasted everything from milk tea, fruit and brewed teas in every tea shops.  I remember ordering a Jasmine Green Milk Tea from Presotea.  It was the best milk tea that I had. The milk and sugar is not overpowering. You get to taste the jasmine tea.

That's why we were surprised when we got an invite to a Presotea event in Robinsons Magnolia. The Presotea that we got to visit in Taipei is now here in Manila! How's that? Now we have a legit and healthy tea shop here.

You can customize your order according to your preference and diet.

I ordered Blueberry Aloe Vera no sugar with coconut jelly and Peach tea with real peach wedges and extra pearls.  I love the flavors complimenting each other.  Its refreshing and healthy too. Ill try to order some of their Best Sellers next time. My partner enjoyed his PPJ (Pearl, Pudding and Jelly) milk tea their bestseller.
