There's a new wizarding at “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” by J.K. Rowling

Leading up to the November 18th release of Warner Bros. Pictures’ highly anticipated feature “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” J.K. Rowling has crafted a collection of new original writing entitled Magic in North America, to introduce audiences to a new place and time in the wizarding world that she has created.

The first installment, “History of Magic in North America,” was introduced today with the global launch of a 100-second specially produced video that serves as a prologue to the new original writing by J.K. Rowling. The video may be viewed at https://youtu.be/un348OTIs0Y.

The writing will be posted on pottermore.com over four consecutive days beginning tomorrow, March 8th, at 6am PST. These four pieces will enlighten readers about a previously unexplored corner of the wizarding world: North American witches and wizards, their history and their magic. The video broke simultaneously on selected media sites around the world and links viewers to “History of Magic in North America,” which will soon be available exclusively at pottermore.com.
The video and the writing provide context and backstory for the feature film “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.”

Rowling, who first conceived the wizarding world in her enormously popular Harry Potter books, had introduced wizards and witches from other parts of Europe in the series, most notably in the Quidditch World Cup and Triwizard Tournament. However, this marks the first time we’ll learn the fascinating story of the history of magic in North America.

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is an all-new adventure returning us to the wizarding world created by J.K. Rowling. Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne (“The Theory of Everything”) stars in the central role of wizarding world magizoologist Newt Scamander, under the direction of David Yates.

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” also stars Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Jon Voight, Ron Perlman, Carmen Ejogo, Jenn Murray, Faith Wood-Blagrove, and Colin Farrell.

The film marks the screenwriting debut of J.K. Rowling, whose script was inspired by the Hogwarts textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, written by her character Newt Scamander.
The film reunites a number of people from the “Harry Potter” features, including producers David Heyman, J.K. Rowling, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram.

Opening across the Philippines on Nov. 17, 2016, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Satisfy your seafood cravings at Choobi Choobi!

When it comes to filipino food, shrimp is everyone's comfort food as it is tagged as the fruit of the sea.  Admit it no one can resist the sight of a deliciously cooked shrimp, with or without the shell!  It is one of the most requested dish at every filipino table,  in any given time.

I dont know anyone who does not love shrimps.  Good thing is that, Choobi Choobi is now in town to satisfy your crave for that one comfort food, you can have it anytime you like  I recently got an invite for Choobi Choobi's launch last Feb 29 at Choobi Choobi Panay Ave QC. The event was attended by Choobi Choobi celebrity endorser Erich Gonzales, Choobi Choobi owner Mr. Stan Tanchan, Alex Medina and media guests.

Aside from the shrimp, you can also try their Grilled Pompano which is freshly grilled garnished with onion and tomatoes on top, perfectly paired with their soy sauce, I could eat this alone, without rice. Yum! The Pepang's fried chicken reminds me of the home cooked chicken, if youre craving for your mother's chicken recipe, this is it. The food was fantastic. It is not too bland or flavourful; it was just right for the palette.

If it’s one thing that brings Filipinos together, it’s our love for good food. Our sense of community and companionship is formed over sharing meals with each other. And if you’re a lover of fresh seafood, you’re in for a treat.

Stan's Fried Black Pepper Shrimp

Choobi Choobi, which proudly brings in juicy seafood straight from Cebu’s best shrimp farm, offers a fresh and unique seafood dining experience for its rapidly growing fanbase. Imagine a fresh catch of seafood served to you in exciting, flavorful ways. There’s no need to catch a flight to Cebu to experience this because their leading restaurant is now in Manila.

Lola Pepang's Fried Manok

Choobi Choobi owner Stan Tanchan’s dream is to provide Filipinos with export-quality shrimp at local prices. He has had his shrimp farm for over 20 years,  but it was only later on that Choobi Choobi was born. He first began by exporting his shrimp to restaurants the world over. Stan’s passion for food combine born out of his love for food and sharing it with great company. With his dream translated into cooking—creating all the recipes himself.

Grilled Pompano

Choobi Choobi’s specialty, their menu boasts of Filipino comfort food that’ll have you saying, “lami kaayo!” even if you’re not Cebuano.

If it’s your first time at Choobi Choobi, you must try their Shrimp in a Bag. It is as the name suggests: a pound of shrimps served in a bag, but cooked in a variety of ways and oozes with their savory butter garlic sauce. You will want to pair it with their Cha Tao Miao—stir fried snow pea sprouts; crunchy and tasty, it’s the perfect side dish!

Choobi Choobi Pata

If you want your shrimp a little bit different, why not try their other signature dish, Stan’s Black Pepper Shrimp? A filling amount of crispy shrimp cooked in Stan’s special black pepper flavoring. It’s another crunchy treat that will leave your taste buds happy with its abundance in flavor. Their other signature dishes include Lola Pepang’s Chicken—a hearty family fried chicken recipe passed
down four generations; Chilean Mussels—a fresh bag of Chilean Mussels with cooked in the flavor of your choice; and Stuffed Grilled Squid—mouth-watering squid stuffed with black rice. And let’s not forget Choobi Choobi’s version of the crispy pata, the Choobi Pata. Delectably crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, one that Stan is proud to say “hits the spot” when you’re craving this classic Filipino dish.

Pork Barbecue

You’ll want to pair these tasty delights with their fresh selection of signature refreshments: Fresh Pineapple Organic Wheatgrass, Fresh Pineapple Organic Kale, Lychee Organic Kale shake. Doesn’t that make you want to stop whatever you’re doing and call your friends to eat?

Choobi Choobi’s tagline “lingaw lingaw kaon” stands for just that: enjoy a fresh and unique dining experience with great company. It is an invitation to come together and eat well since community is at the heart of any Choobi Choobi meal.

You can find Choobi Choobi in any of the following areas: Capitol, Mabolo, Mactan Newton, SM NRA, SM Seaside, SM Manila, Panay Avenue Quezon City, SM Iloilo, SM Bacolod, SM Lanang Davao, Limketkai CDO and Centrio Ayala Mall.

Xtreme cake deco on the spot at the 10th Goldilocks ICDC 2016

Just when you thought, its easy to decorate a cake, wait till you see the ICDC participants building a three layer cake from scratch. It takes a lot of discipline, patience and expertise to decorate a cake at least for me. Hats off to the students who spinned their cake "on the spot". How I wish I have the talent to be creative, to whip those buttercreams, and to flat top those icings, now I would be contented seeing those participants made their way to the cakes.

Since 2006, Goldilocks has been drawing out the most creative cake decorating talents among the youth through their annual Intercollegiate Cake Decorating Challenge (ICDC). Indeed, the competition has transcended school pride, and has become a venue where would-be pastry chefs and bakeshop masters are discovered.

This year’s ICDC drew a particularly large crowd of spectators at The Block at SM North EDSA. Finalists from ten schools were given base cakes that they could stack in layers, gallons and gallons of ultra-premium whipped cream (supplied by co-sponsor Avoset Pour N’ Whip), and a seemingly endless array of edible hues, different shapes and colors of jelly, chocolates, decorative flowers and other ingredients for edible art works. This year, however, provided a truly “Xtreme” twist: teams were made to decorate five cakes in the span of only five hours, based on themes that they only learned about on contest day.

Each team had five participants, representing the best of their culinary arts or hotel and restaurant management courses. In the lead up to the competition, each team was mentored by a top professional chef, in order to prepare them for this one-of-a-kind challenge. Consequently, students from Calayan Educational Foundation, Sain Anne College of Lucena, Pangasinan State University, Lyceum of the Philippines Laguna, Trinity University of Asia, Western Institute of Technology Iloilo, DMCI College Foundation Dipolog, Lyceum Subic Bay, Far Eastern University, and Colegio de San Lorenzo were all on hand to show the audience a delightful display of skill and creativity.

As expected from their young, artistic, and spirited imaginations, all the competing teams came up with five masterpieces that bordered on sculpted cakes to intricate icing art pieces. Submissions for the 50th birthday cake, 50th wedding anniversary cake, “Year 2050” cake, the gold-themed cake, and the number-themed cake showcased intricate, colorful, and even gravity-defying designs.

Lyceum of the Philippines Laguna took the top prize in the 50th birthday cake category, while St. Anne College of Lucena won the 50th wedding anniversary cake category. Western Institute of Technology Iloilo was judged to have the best Year 2050 cake, and Pangasinan State University and St. Anne College Lucena won the gold-themed cake and number-themed cake categories, respectively.

After tallying the cumulative scores, judges Penk Ching, Heny Sison, Millie Dizon, Carol San Pedro, and Cara Wu declared the overall winner and 2016 ICDC champion to be St. Anne College Lucena. The announcement was met with jubilation and wild cheers, particularly from team mentor Chef James Antolin.

“Some of these designs were really impressive – even at par with commercially available cakes. It’s amazing that these were made on-the-spot by students,” noted Goldilocks Marketing Director Cherry Caluya. “The level of talent possessed by the Filipino youth is truly overwhelming,” she concluded.

Click to Chic with Fujifilm mirrorless camera X-A2

I love taking pictures with my phonecam because uploading them in my fb, instagram and pinterest is a breeze. But when I got a hold on Fujifilm's X-A2 at a recent "Clic to Chic" Female Photography Talks, I had a change of heart.  I couldnt take my eyes off on X-A2, which is another well-built X-series mirrorless camera, weighs 12.3 ounces, with 16.3-megapixel (wow!) APS-C CMOS sensor, newly-developed Eye auto focus (AF), if youre a camera enthusiast you know what I mean with this, the X-A2 has a range of film simulation modes and creative effects. I could go on and on with its feature. And I guess, this is highly recommended for beginner like me.

The "Clic to Chic" Female Photography Talks, was hosted by Ms. Janeena Chan and graced by celebrity guests Miles Ocampo and Camie Juan

I know I have to purchase it, for my instagram and pinterest feeds.  I cant wait to upgrade!  Great for taking selfies with its 175° tilting LCD screen with face and eye detection.  The X-A2 with its retro vibe feature is actually lighter weighing in 12.3 ounces. It is the best fashion accessory to go with your everyday outfit. With different colors to match your mood. In my case, I love the brown one for that retro feel.

FUJIFILM Philippines marks Women’s Month with women-with-a-purpose oriented Female Photography Talks Series

Gone are the days when women were relegated to the background. In today’s world, women have found their voices, chosen career paths where they excel, and taken on interests which allow them to inspire other women to lead substantial, insightful lives.

FUJIFILM Philippines Inc. celebrates Women’s Month with Click to Chic: Female Photography Talks (Series) which is launched March 2 at Oakwood Premier in Ortigas. Click to Chic is a workshop series geared towards aspiring female photographers that aims to help them learn how to use their FUJIFILM cameras, especially the X-A2.

FUJIFILM X-A2 is the best fashion accessory to highlight a photographer’s total look. It is armed with a wide range of functions that delivers simple operation and picture-taking power. The X-A2’s Super Intelligent Flash or IFlash automatically delivers the ideal amount of flash for every scene, clearly and brightly capturing faces even under strong backlit or dark conditions. It makes one’s skin tone look smoother and more ravishing. Also when shooting macro shots in dim lighting, the IFlash prevents the washout of the subject and background. For food shots, at extreme close-up, dishes look more appetizing and expertly-shot at that. When you’re ready to share your photos, you can easily highlight up to 30 images in your camera and wirelessly transfer them from your smartphone to post immediately.

Miles Ocampo, a bright young thing over at ABS-CBN, is the perfect picture of a young woman on the verge of limitless possibilities that FUJIFILM X-A2 has come to embody. Ocampo guested at the grand launch of Click to Chic: Female Photography Talks (Series) by FUJIFILM.

FUJIFILM Philippines endorser Bea Alonzo is also one super celebrity who has fallen in love with X-A2. She takes it to her travels and documents her adventures with it. She also brings it to work and loves discovering and trying out each and every feature of the mirrorless camera.  “The X-A2 is such a reliable camera, like a dependable buddy whom you can count on to deliver pictures of high quality,” says the top TV-movie actress.

With an 80-year history and expertise in photographic film manufacturing behind it, FUJIFILM believes in the power and influence of women to see and capture things of beauty and milestones through the lens. It is both a journey and an adventure worth championing and shining a light on.

Helios Solar inaugurates the largest solar project in Cadiz, Negros Occidental

Helios Solar Energy Corp. (“Helios”) has today inaugurated its 132.5-megawatt (“MW”) solar generation facility in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental. The project is Southeast Asia’s largest solar project.

The project was developed through a partnership between Gregorio Araneta, Inc. (“GAI”) and Soleq. Soleq is the market leader in the solar PV industry in the Philippines and one of Southeast Asia’s largest solar independent power producers. This project follows the partnership’s first solar project, a 30 MW solar generation facility in Ormoc, Leyte, which was commissioned in April 2015.

The first of its size in Southeast Asia, the project has contributed significant value and opportunities to communities in Negros Occidental having employed over 2,000 local people during the construction phase. Additionally, it is estimated that the project will produce 188,500 MWh of solar power per year, or enough to power an estimated 167,526 households, save 177.7 million litres of water, and lower carbon emissions by 94,627 tonnes per year (equivalent of 10 years of carbon sequestered by planting 2.4 million trees).

Celebration of the best of the BSM community: The International Evening

#WeAreInternational

A massive BSM thank you to everyone who attended International Evening on Tuesday 23 February. It was a truly wonderful event—a celebration of the best of the BSM community. From the delicious food from around the world, to beautiful performances from their students and parents, and the spectacular Parade of Nations with more participants than ever, plus a Marching Band, Majorettes and Festive Higantes, it really was a show stopper.

Many people worked day and night to make it happen and it really showed on the night. BSM welcomed over 1,600 people to the biggest fund-raising event in the Service Learning calendar, and sold over 3,700 raffle tickets. They are hoping it will all help them to reach a fund-raising target of one million Pesos! They were overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity and willingness to pitch in and make it such a great night. Thank you Team BSM.

As well as everyone who came along to support the fund-raising event, BSM would like to extend a huge thanks to all of the parents, teachers, staff and students who worked so hard, both in the lead up, and on the night itself to provide us with such wonderful food,  performances and Parade of Nations. They had larger food stalls, catering for hundreds of guests, and our boutique food stalls with niche products. A great combination, with truly something for everyone. And hundreds of performers who have been rehearsing since January to provide  with spectacular entertainment.

The Food Stalls
The quality and sheer variety of food on offer was amazing. The lamb rolls and sausage sizzles at the Australia and New Zealand booth were a huge hit, as was the deliciously authentic Thai food, elegantly served by the Dusit Thani. The “Birthday Tea for a Queen” at the British Stall was a treat, with sandwiches, pies and sausage rolls alongside sweet bites including Victoria Sponge, Lemon Drizzle and Carrot cakes. The Japanese stall offered beautiful sushi, ramen and takoyaki with their ever popular California Rolls, and even before the Indian stall could open, families were queuing up for their veg and non-veg dishes, including chicken makhanwala, mutton keema, samosas, dhal makhani and dosas.

Korea offered traditional bulgogi, pancakes, japchae, kimchi and fried chicken. China put on a feast, with dumplings, pork buns, spring rolls, gyoza, ki-kiam, shrimp rolls and boba milk tea, which proved very popular with our students. Spain brought their traditional paella to the party, with a huge tapas selection, including chorizo, gambas, croquettas, tortilla and delicious sangria. The buffalo wings of the USA ran out early, as did their cookies and Hershey chocolates. Traditional German treats including bratwurst, sauerkraut, potato salad and homemade pretzels were a welcome addition, as was the bacon and cabbage, smoked salmon, cheddar, Irish coffee mousse and Irish tipples at the Irish booth.

The Middle East and North Africa served up delicious dips, including hummus and zaalook with pita, France and Switzerland gave us raclette among other delicacies, Scandinavia treated visitors to meatballs, canapes, cake and traditional Schnapps, and even Italy was represented with a stall run by San Remo, serving pasta dishes to suit every taste. And last but by no means least, the beautifully lit Filipino booth gave a treat from every corner of the Philippines. Roasted lechon, a Lumpia bar, Inihaw bar, salmon belly, noodles, pork bbq, pancit canton, pancit ivatan, dirty ice cream, Filipino desserts as well as buko juice!

The Performances
The dance performances on the night truly showed the diversity, and the talents of BSM community. From individual performers singing the Philippine and British National Anthems, dancing the Flamenco and covering Ed Sheeran; to large scale group dances, including the Indian musical medley, which spanned dances from the whole country and from the very classical to a disco-themed Bollywood number, we enjoyed every moment.

They also enjoyed learning the story of the Chinese Zodiac, a traditional German folk dance called Schuhplattler and a funky hip hop number from our primary students. The Haka was a real highlight of the evening, performed by a group of BSM students and boys from the Tuloy Foundation, as were the ballet numbers.  Enjoyed a traditional ballet show, with dances from Russia, Spain, Hungary, Germany, America and Vienna, as well as a fantastic performance of “Swan Lake” and “Chariots of Fire” by a few of our Rugby Team. Pink tutus and varsity attire have never joined together to provide so much enjoyment to so many!

You’ve got to be in it to win it!
It was also a night of winners. The British Food Stall helped to bring the “British Bake Off” fun to  community event, with a competition for the best cake baked by teachers and students. A delicious chocolate cake took the crown for the adult cake and two of Primary students shared the prize for their trifle and cupcakes. The Parade of Nations also provided the perfect opportunity to reward creativity. The costume competition gave the judges a tough task, but the 5 lucky winners this year, had beautiful outfits from their home countries of UK, Germany, Korea, South Africa and Russia.

A few visitors to the event were lucky enough to be one of  top raffle prize winners. The generous sponsors have provided GCs for stays in some of the most beautiful parts of the Philippines, including Atmosphere Hotel & Spa in Dumaguete, Dedon Island Resort in Siargao, Bamboo Private Island in Palawan, Nobu Hotel at City of Dreams, Rieseling Boracay Beach Resort, Coco Grove in Siquijor, Coco Beach in Puerto Galera, The District Boracay, Busuanga Bay Lodge in Coron and Buri Resort & Spa in Puerto Galera. Flights to Guam on Cebu Pacific, an overnight package at The Farm at San Benito and free dining at Cafe Curieux, The Peninsula Hotel and Fairmont Makati were among our other amazing prizes.

BSM Community does it again
Of course, none of this could have happened without the truly amazing Operations staff who worked almost through the night, and the rest of the support staff, teachers, parents and students who gave their time willingly to become Bakers, Food stall helpers, Bar Staff, Raffle ticket sellers, Parade helpers, Entry ticket staff, KidZone supervisors, and help the rest of us enjoy ourselves, while raising huge sums of money for Service Learning.

A few individuals took on such large roles, were almost given staff passes! These amazing BSM parents made the Parade of Nations such an amazing spectacle who kept track of everything to do with the Food Stalls, ensured the event looked beautiful, and ran the ever-popular PTA bar.

The very generous sponsors
Finally, they had a  huge number of generous sponsors, who provided money, prizes and food, and helped to make sure that as much of the money raised on the night goes straight into the Service Learning Fund, and helping the Service Partners that they work with. Some came along on the night to support the event, which was great – and BSM hope helped to strengthen relationships between them and all of  their partners.

Where the money goes
All of the money raised goes towards supporting BSM Service Partners. The BSM International Evening in March 2015 raised an amazing 605,000 pesos. With this money they were able to fund their work with a variety of Charity Service Partners, including:

PCF, a charity providing education, food aid, fair employment and health care to the poorest adults and children in and around Manila. BSM worked with PCF throughout 2015 (50,000 Pesos)
Financial and in-kind support to Makabata Schools Foundation, in Pasig. The school provides formal and non-formal (basic skills) education for street children and out-of-school youth (50,000 Pesos)
One Million Lights Foundation, providing solar lights for off-grid communities (90,000 Pesos)
The Fairplay for All Foundation, a charity working in Payatas, the largest dumpsite in the Philippines and home to half a million people. Their main projects include a drop-in centre, Payatas Football Club and the Fairplay cafe (10,000 Pesos).
Stepping Stones Foundation, a school and learning environment for children and young adults with disabilities and learning difficulties. Year 10 students renovated the garden, and painted classrooms in their new facility (20,000 Pesos)
School bags for disadvantaged children living in Panay Island, Visayas (40,000 Pesos)
Financial and in-kind support (including the purchase of a projector) for Kids International Ministries, a charity that is based in Manila, but has a number of programmes across the Philippines, providing food, shelter, education and medical attention to at-risk children in indigent communities (40,000 Pesos)
Building materials, expertise and manual labour for Tagaytay Central Elementary School during CAS week in May 2015. All Year 12 IB students traveled to Tagaytay, and spent 3 days working at the school to improve the teaching and learning environment (305,000 Pesos)
This year, the fund-raising total is an ambitious one million Pesos. With this money BSM hope to be able to make even more of a difference to the communities around us.

Achieve your #BodyGoals with Allura Body Contour & Slimming Center

I discovered that as I grow older, the more I am capable of eating more than what my body needs. Three years ago, I weighed 112lbs, I lost 7lbs from my 119lbs frame. I guess it was because of the pressure working abroad. Fast forward to today, I went back to my original 119lbs. I wanted to trim down to 3lbs so that I could feel lighter and healthier on the side. But how? with all the food temptation that is surrounding us.

It takes a lot of discipline to lose weight,  when it comes to dieting, few things are more important than discipline.

The strength of your discipline is often the difference between you reaching for that candy bar or throwing it in the trash. It’s a powerful weapon in your weight loss armory.

How are you expected to succeed in your dieting plans if you can’t go more than a few days without succumbing to temptation? The answer lies not in trying to force discipline upon yourself, but in exercising your discipline and increasing its strength over time.

Such is our struggle especially when it comes to dieting, the sight of tasty food made us want to consume them as fast as possible,  now fret no more, for there is ALLURA Body Contour & Slimming Center  where you can find the latest and most economical way of losing weight and contouring your body.

More and more customers have attested that not all promises are meant to be broken because in ALLURA, they just turned their “dream body” into a reality.  As we are continuously delivering our commitment for “results-oriented service”, more and more showbiz and non-showbiz clients have expressed their happiness for finding the right trick in achieving their ideal figure through safe and non-invasive treatmenta.  Why don’t we just let the results do the talking?

Ara Mina and Christine Reyes, the renowned sisters in Philippine show business are just some of the living proof of how ALLURA fulfilled its promises.

ARA MINA

Ara Mina revealed that Thermo-lipolysis became her weight loss buddy for her quick reduction of weight. "Thermolipolysis is my favorite treatment, I lost 11 pounds in just a short period of time," shared Ara. In addition, Ara's waistline has reportedly gone from a 28 to a 25 in just a short span.

Thermo-lipolysis is one of the famous offerings of ALLURA as it helps our clients reduce weight easily and instantly. It uses cutting-edge thermal heat and infrared technology to burn as much as 900 calories per treatment of 30 minutes. You are put inside a hi-tech "capsule," so you can literally lose weight equivalent to 3-7 km. energy expenditure of running while lying down. It actually burns as much as 900 calories per session. More than that, it increases the metabolism, reduces water retention and stimulates body circulation.

CHRISTINE REYES
Another popular demand from ALLURA is the Radio Frequency method which effortlessly gets rid of the cellulite and local fat tissues safely. It is effective, extremely safe, painless and mild with its special cooling method, no bandage, no bruising, no bleeding and no pain.

This treatment was used by actress Christine Reyes to tighten her upper arms. She also used the UltraShape Machine, which destroyed fat on her tummy and flanks.

She further had Endermolgie to address her cellulite problem on her thighs. The Endermologie Machine employs vacuum energy mechanical rollers. It corrected the fat cell accumulation and too much fluid retention (edema) on her thighs.

In ALLURA, they always have an answer for your specific problem area. There is a  wide range of the latest and most advanced machines specifically made to reduce fat in your target areas.

The Ultra Shape Machine is a 3-in-1 machine, that employs 1.) ultra-sound technology which causes bursting (implosion) of the fat cells of the area being treated. The 2.) suction/vacuum probe hastens lymphatic drainage of the fat cell content (fat cells when destroyed release energy to be burned) into the blood stream. 3.) The radio frequency (RF) part of the machine treatment will tighten or firm up the skin of the area being treated since the area will be losing a lot of fat tissues and it might cause the skin to loosen up.

CHLOE DAUDEN, MISS WORLD PHILIPPINES 2011 (SECOND PRINCESS)
Miss World Philippines 2011, Second Princess, Chloe Dauden announced on her Instagram post that Body Rejuve Tripollar is her favorite treatment in ALLURA.

In her post online, she revealed that she is doing it at least once a week. Body Rejuve Tripollar really helps in slimming and toning my stomach, arms and thigh.” Dauden posted. This treatment helps improve stretch marks, reduces fats in certain areas, melts cellulite and tightens skin. Same with Needle-less Mesotherapy which uses ion wave technology as it opens up the pores of the skin, giving the body time to get all the nutrients from skin care products.

KRISTINE B. (HAPPY NON-SHOWBIZ COSTUMER)
Meanwhile,  VASER Shape is one of the newest trends that  carries and is currently a hit with clients for its rewarding results. It is a non-surgical body-sculpting treatment that uses ultrasound and massage to treat unwanted fat and improve the appearance of cellulite.

With VASER Shape, the ultrasonic therapy heats the deep layers of the skin, causing the underlying fat cells to break apart. The non-surgical body contouring massage helps the lymphatic system drain away the excess toxins and fats and increase blood circulation in the area. The VASER shape treatment reduces “pinchable” fat, tightens skin, and improves the appearance of cellulite. Many people notice tightening after their first session, and you are able to resume normal activities immediately without pain or downtime.

In fact, immediate results can be seen and felt in just 1 session! One happy customer, Kristen B. shared how thankful she is with this treatment as it helped eliminate her “beer belly”. “Now, you can see my hips, ribs and my whole stomach is defined!! Monique [ALLURA staff] was awesome and I can fit into my skinny jeans!!” Kristen added.

These treatment machines are US/Europe BFAD approved which guarantees the safeness of all procedures. They acquired the machines from the inventor/discoverer of the technology and hence the treatments have sound scientific principles. And these technologies have made thousands of Allura customers realize that losing weight does not require them to starve themselves, or allot lengthy hours at the gym, or undergo those delicate bloody surgical operations because ALLURA has given them a safe and convenient alternative!

Other personalities such as Ryza Cenon, Rich Asuncion, MJ Marfori,  Johan Santos and DJ Nicole Hyala have also testified about the effectivity of the services offered at ALLURA..

PAWIL KAYERISTINE GERONIMO (HAPPY NON-SHOWBIZ COSTUMER)
Over the years, not only have the slimming services impressed  clients, but also  tested skin beautifying services.  Pawil Kayeristine Geronimo expressed her gratitude to ALLURA for the impressive results that happened to her body. “thanks so much ALLURA for having a great body peel. :) I’ll be back soon!” she said.

APRIL “CONGRATS” GUSTILO

The Fun Side of Science at Montessori de San Juan

Science and Math are always considered as hard and boring subjects—unless you’re a student at Montessori de San Juan!

Each year, a Science and Math Fair is conducted at the school’s grounds. This gives the students an opportunity to showcase and display their interest and knowledge on the subjects. Students from all levels put up their booths and call people over so they can explain their science experiments.

Pre-schoolers excitedly explain what density is and demonstrate by dropping an egg in salt water. There were grade schoolers who talked about how different chemicals can produce different colors of flame when introduced to fire. It’s amazing how these concepts come easily to these students at such a young age, when some of the topics are introduced at higher levels in standardized schools!

Montessori de San Juan prides itself to be one of the pioneer schools that promote Montessori education. This is an education philosophy made popular by Maria Montessori in the early 19th century, where children’s learning abilities and learning speed are prioritised over anything else. Run by Ms. Sandy Arellano, she boasts that Montessori de San Juan not just implements the Montessori method of education, but also incorporates a more progressive approach to education.

“This way, the children can learn on their own pace,” Ms. Sandy explains. “We have students with different kinds of learning capabilities: some are visual learners, some are tactile learners, and our teachers make sure that all of the students are given the attention they need. This is also why our classes have only a few students, so the teachers can give each one the education they need.”

Montessori De San Juan now accepts applicants up to Senior High School. Enrolment for all levels for school year 2016-2017 is until May 31. For more information about Montessori De San Juan, call 239-1102/725-6306, or visit their website at www.montessoridesanjuan.com.

Making Education Policy payouts more convenient with Philam Life

Direct Deposit Promo Winners. Front Row L-R: Juan A. Daoang and his Financial Advisor Esther Pria; Felicitas A. Evangelista; Salvacion and Melchor Mandader; and Sara Espiritu Santo, Philam Life Financial Advisor who attended on behalf of her client, Ammie M. Altavano.

Back Row L-R: Giovani Evangelista;  Philam Life Chief Life Operations Officer Richard Bracken; and Philam Life Chief Executive Officer Axel Bromley.

Every parent aims to give his child a good college education. Through an education policy, parents are assured that no matter what happens, their child will have funds for a college degree.

Philam Life understands the real life needs of its customers and knows how important education is for its policyholders. The company has constantly delivered on its promises and has promptly released over P9 billion in education pay-out to its policyholders.

To make education payout release faster and more convenient for its policyholders, Philam Life launched the Direct Deposit payment facility—through which Scholar Gold policyholders will get their policy benefits credited directly to their bank account.

As part of the campaign to promote the Direct Deposit facility, Philam Life recently held an electronic raffle promo to the early enrolees of the Direct Deposit facility by giving away brand new Apple iPhone 6 to five (5) lucky Scholar Gold policyholders.

The winners of a brand new Apple iPhone 6 are: Juan Daoang of Pangasinan, Felicitas Evangelista of Malate, Manila; Melchor Mandadero of Parang, Marikina; Ammie Altavano of Angono, Rizal and Wilma Aquino of Pangasinan.

One of the winners, Mr. Juan Daoang, who came all the way from Pangasinan, shared that he has Philam Life education policies for his three children.  When he learned about the new Direct Deposit facility from his last visit to the Philam Life Customer Service Center in Dagupan City, he immediately applied for it. Now with the convenience of the Direct Deposit facility, Mr. Daoang will be able to withdraw tuition funds directly from his bank account, without having to travel great distances.

Another winner of the electronic raffle, Mrs. Felicitas Evangelista and her husband didn’t have a child of their own. Instead, Mrs. Evangelista invested in a Philam Life Scholar Gold education policy for her nephew, Nathaniel, who is a third year Computer Engineering student at Bulacan State University. Because the Evangelista couple lived and worked in Manila and their nephew was in Bulacan, the responsibility of claiming the benefits went to Nathaniel’s grandfather. Since he is not the policyholder, he always went through the process of presenting authorization documents to claim the policy benefits. Now with the new Direct Deposit facility, the education benefits will be directly credited to Mrs. Evangelista’s bank account, which she can easily transmit to Nathaniel’s grandfather.

“We understand the real life needs of our customers so we are shifting to paperless and online transactions. Thanks to innovative technology, we are able to give our customers like Mr. Daoang and Mrs Evangelista a faster and more convenient way to receive their policy benefits,” said Philam Life CEO Axel Bromley.

The Direct Deposit facility is just one of the ways that Philam Life is undertaking to make financial planning easier for customers.
