Move Smooth and Shave Smooth with Schick

I started shaving my underarms years ago when I became busy with work, as its the fastest and safest thing to do aside from plucking hair using a tweezer. ( That was the time I ditched my tweezer)  It saves me a lot of time as it get rid of unwanted hair in just a minute. It gives me smooth and clean (kile kile) underarms too. I am addicted to shaving that I have used different brand of shavers. But when I tried Schick, I became a fan. I have been using Schick disposable shaver for women for about a year now because it smooth and moisturizes my skin after each shave. Perfect for the working women, students and housewives.

Schick PH recently launched the  Move Smooth, Shave Smooth  on January 10 at SM Megamall, for the men of our lives and it also introduced its new Schick Ambassador Smooth Lee.

SCHICK PHILIPPINES, one of the most trusted brand in the grooming industry, recently unveiled a new level of smoothness though its latest campaign for 2018 – Move Smooth, Shave Smooth.

Along with the event, SMOOTH LEE, the “Man of Smooth Moves “ was formally introduced to the public.

SMOOTH LEE personifies the man of today – sleek, charming, fun-vibe, active and smart.  His smooth moves make it easy for him to overcome challenges as he goes through different adventures facing the Shaving Villains.  And with the help of Schick, he continues to spread smoothness one shave at the time.

Also during the launch, two of the most popular and well-received products of EDGEWELL PERSONAL CARE – the SCHICK EXACTA 2 SENSITIVE & SCHICK EXACTA 2 SYSTEM took center stage.

The Schick Exacta 2 Sensitive is a disposable razor especially designed for sensitive skin.  Though it is disposable, it boasts of many features that ordinary razors don’t have.  It has a Safety Cap with air holes that protects you from accidentally cutting yourself from the razor’s blades.  The same air hole also keeps the twin blades dry.  It also has a Clean Push Button that makes cleaning the blades easy.  The Lubricating Strips with Vitamin E helps protects the skin and moisturizes it as you shave to prevent razor burns.

The handle is ergonomically designed with a No Slip Rubber Grip for easier handling and maneuvering when shaving.  This prevents nicks & cuts since the handle gives you full control of the razor.  And lastly, it has Twin Blades which makes shaving faster and smoother especially if you have stubborn hair.

The Schick Exacta 2 System is an upgrade. It is a reusable razor that also carries the same features as Exacta 2 Sensitive. Its Lubricating Strips is enhanced with Pro Vitamin B and Aloe Vera that moisturizes, protects and soothes the skin as you shave.   Plus, the twin blades are attached to a slim pivoting head that follows the contour of your face as you glide the razor giving you a very close and smooth shave.   It also has the No Slip Grip and the Clean Push Button that is uniquely found only in Schick razors.

Schick Razors are proud products of Edgewell Personal Care and being distributed by Getz Brothers Philippines.

Goodbye Rooster and let’s move forward in the Year of the Dog!

No doubt, about what good energy can bring us for the 13th Philippine Feng Shui Convention with Ms. Marites Allen happening this January 6, 2018 at Marco Polo Hotel Ortigas.

Hosted by the internationally certified and recognized Feng Shui Master in the Philippines Ms. Marites Allen, the 2018 Feng Shui Convention promises to be more exciting and relevant as we all seek good fortune in the Year of the Dog.

The Philippines only annual Feng Shui extravaganza this January 2018 falls right in an important day for gaining insightful knowledge, identifying great opportunities, meeting valuable friends while having fun. Great line up of food and refreshments will be offered courtesy of Marco Polo Ortigas plus a bonus of good entertainment to perk things up.

With the expertise and experience of Ms. Marites Allen, you can now equip yourself with correct feng shui knowledge and actual tools that will attract good
fortune while avoiding negativity in the coming year of the dog.

Why YOU should attend the 2018 Feng Shui Convention:

Understand if the energies will work against or for you. As we welcome the year of the earth dog this 2018 it is understandable that destiny will change. What worked for you in the year of the rooster may not be applicable for the new year. Learning how to work around the different elements and their symbolisms is the best strategy to achieve improved luck and amass prosperity and happiness in the process for the year ahead.

==========
What’s in store for you in the Year of the Earth Dog?

Starting 16 February 2018 until 4 February 2019, the Earth Dog will take over as the ruling animal of the Chinese zodiac. For feng shui followers, the changing of the lunar year brings different Opportunities and certain challenges for each animal sign. Understandably, many people look forward to the luck forecasts for their respective birth signs as they go through another year.

International feng shui master Marites Allen gave a briefing on the luck indications for each of the zodiac signs in a media conference last Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at the Marco Polo Hotel. Although she said that not all animal signs are lucky during their own year, the Dog holds rosy prospects for the Dog-born. The Tiger, Horse, and Rabbit, who are all zodiac allies of the Dog, may share the same good fortune. The Dragon, who is the conflict animal of the Monkey, may face some challenges next year, according to Marites.

To guide everyone in maximizing the positive energies and deflecting the negative ones indicated in each animal chart, Marites has written 12 horoscope books for 2018. "It took long, exhausting hours to come up with those books. It was a production nightmare, but it had to be done,“
says Marites.

There is just so much opportunity next year that people need to know about, she added.

She shared a sneak preview into the luck readings for each astrological sign:

RAT: Long-term benefits expected but need to be wary of the misfortune star.

OX: Pleasant news related to promotion or further career development.

TlGER: A reasonably good year, but must control temper and avoid confrontations.

RABBIT: Monetary gains from last year may be extended to this year

DRAGON: Take it easy and make sure to implement a calculated risk for anything that you do in 2018.

SNAKE: There will be more chances for your upward achievements .

HORSE: A very rewarding year especially in the love department.

SHEEP: You may have to redouble your efforts to achieve whatever goals you wanted. 0 MONKEY: Many positive events to look forward to.

ROOSTER: Do not be too busy that you neglect your personal health.

DOG: New beginnings are in the horizon and income growing in 2018 is very possible.

BOAR: A great start for a new year; however, betrayal may be in the horizon.

Each book provides monthly readings for one’s career, business, health, and relationships. There are also feng shui suggestions for the home, auspicious fashion and accessories, guide to the lucky and unlucky house orientations for each month, and many more useful tips.

The books are now available at all Frigga shops and ordering online at wealthluck.com and lazadacomph.

SOMEONE'S AFTER REBEL WILSON'S FAT AMY IN “PITCH PERFECT 3”

Rebel Wilson reprises her lovable Fat Amy role in Universal Pictures' Pitch Perfect 3, the next chapter in the beloved series opening in Philippine cinemas on Monday, January 8.

In Pitch Perfect 3, after the highs of winning the World Championships, the Bellas find themselves split apart and discovering there aren’t job prospects for making music with your mouth. But when they get the chance to reunite for an overseas USO tour, this group of awesome nerds will come together to make some music, and some questionable decisions, one last time.

Director Trish Sie catches us up on where Fat Amy has landed after college graduation: “Fat Amy has her own one-woman show she's trying to get off Broadway. So she's off of Times Square with her street performer set-up-complete with hecklers and hot-dog men interrupting her every day."

Wilson appreciated that the audience gets to learn so much about Fat Amy in this chapter. Always enigmatic, the character reveals more to her fellow Bellas than they ever dreamed possible (or true). "You find out a lot more about Fat Amy in this movie, which is cool," adds Wilson. "At the start of the film, she is trying to make it on Broadway. She's put together a little show called Fat Amy Winehouse, which is an amazing and hilarious one-woman show that she's performing on the street. But she keeps getting contacted by someone very mysterious..."

That mystery is embodied by award-winning actor John Lithgow, who portrays Fergus, Fat Amy's very sketchy father.

Producer Max Handelman gives us a bit of backstory: "Fat Amy ran away from her gangster father in Australia seven years ago, and she turned up at Barden University to escape him. He's a bad guy, so she tried to reinvent herself as Fat Amy, as opposed to her original name of Patricia. Now that she's left the States, he's tracked her down, and is trying to reconcile with her. Originally, seemingly in a positive way, but then his ulterior motives get revealed."

"If we're going to be moving forward in these girls' lives, we'd also need to deal with the past and have them resolve some of their own issues. I was always intrigued by the fact that we do not know anything about Fat Amy," shares Sie. "We've met Beca's dad. We've heard Aubrey talk about her father, but we don't know who Fat Amy is or why she came from Tasmania and landed at Barden.

Wilson gives us a glimpse into what to expect from Fergus: "You find out that her dad has tracked her down. He wasn't allowed in America because he's done some dodgy things, but when the girls go to Europe he's able to track Fat Amy down and meet for the first time in seven years."

When it came to her co-star, the performer echoes the lauds of her director. "I cannot talk highly enough about him," raves Wilson. "First of all when they told me your dad's going to be John Lithgow, I thought, 'He's crushed movies, TV, Broadway, and I grew up watching him on television.' To have him be my dad and for him to also learn the Australian accent in three days was incredible."

Pitch Perfect 3 stars Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Hailee Steinfeld, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Alexis Knapp, Hana Mae Lee, Ester Dean, Chrissie Fit, Kelley Jakle, Shelley Regner, John Lithgow, John Michael Higgins and Elizabeth Banks.

Pitch Perfect 3 is distributed in the Philippines by United International Pictures through Columbia Pictures.

‘Siargao’ took home seven major awards in Metro Manila Film Festival 2017

Before Siargao was shown to the public on Christmas Day as an entry to MMFF 2017. I was able to watch the special block screening for the media on Dec 21, 2017 at Greenbelt 3, Makati.

I was drawn to Siargao because of their pristine beach. I heard so many things about this tourist destination from my partner who went there last year.

The beach indeed was superbly shot from all angles. From top view to the underwater scene,  catching its beautiful waves and sunset.   It simply took my breath away.  I knew right then and there that they will bag the Best Cinematography for this film.

Kudos to the actors who played their part well.  Jericho was a natural for his role as Diego, Jasmine Curtis as Abi was a revelation.  Erich as a vlogger was amusing and funny. Director Paul Soriano captured the best of Siargao, its beach, locals and the story fit the actors well.

I have never been to Siargao but right after the movie. I have been checking up affordable flight deals for a 5-day staycation. I am planning to take surf lessons too. The best part is I will try to travel solo just like Erich do in the movie.

"Siargao"held a Thanksgiving mini presscon on January 4 at Relish, Tomas Morato. Director Paul Soriano graced the presscon, thanking everyone and the social media for continuously promoting the movie thru tweets and instagram. He told that this is indeed the start of a Happy New Year for him.

Siargao’ bags seven major awards in Metro Manila Film Festival 2017
Paul Soriano’s first venture into the Metro Manila Film Festival has been more than rewarding as his film Siargao starring Jericho Rosales, Erich Gonzales and Jasmine Curtis-Smith ruled in the recently-concluded Gabi ng Parangal held at the KIA Theater last December 27.

The Ten17P director’s first foray into the romance-travel genre earned him and his team seven major awards, the most during that night, from the MMFF executive committee.

Siargao took home the coveted second Best Picture award while Soriano bagged his first ever Best Director trophy from the MMFF.

Curtis-Smith, meanwhile, took home the Best Supporting Actress award for her exceptional the environmentalist Abi who happens to be the former love interest of Diego, played by Jericho Rosales.

Siargao’s Mark Victor bagged the Best Editor trophy while the film was awarded Best Cinematography for perfectly capturing the Surfing Capital of the Philippines’ signature herculean, clear waves and its bright and picturesque island and locals.

Allowing the movie to sail further was it’s theme song “Alon” by local alternative rock band Hale, which also bagged the Best Original Theme song award. Not only that, the film was also awarded Best Sound during that night.
Soriano gratefully shared the award to his artists, staff and crew, as he noted that the awards that his film raked in made his debut in the festival memorable.
However, amid the awards, Paul was able to cull an important insight during the entire MMFF process.

“But if there’s one thing that this festival has really taught me is that not everybody is going to like what you make and not everyone is going to appreciate what you made,” he said.

“But there are people that get what I want to say and it’s because of those people that I will continue to tell stories, to continue to make films because this is what I love to do,” he said during his Best Director acceptance speech.

Paul Soriano’s Siargao starring Jericho Rosales, Erich Gonzales and Jasmine Curtis-Smith is still showing in selected cinemas nationwide as part of the Metro Manila Film Festival 2017.

The coffee brand hypes up the celebration for its 20th anniversary, with decadent servings of flavor and a variety of exciting items on the menu.

Starbucks is complementing its signature Espresso Roast with sophisticated flavors like salted caramel and Okinawa brown sugar, expertly crafted into an assortment of beverages.

The beverage is topped with a blend of turbinado sugar and sea salt for a perfect sweet and savory taste.

“We love to constantly surprise our customers with new flavor combinations. This season’s beverages complement our signature Starbucks Espresso and whisks in premium ingredients, like Okinawa brown sugar from Japan, for a modern twist.” said Keith Cole, head of marketing for Starbucks Philippines

Day 2: Dacara's Farm and Gardens

"Did you know that the ostrich is the largest and heaviest living bird? As its species name, camelus, suggests, the ostrich was once known as the “camel bird” because of its long neck, prominent eyes, and sweeping eyelashes, as well as its jolting walk. Like camels, the ostrich can tolerate high temperatures and go without water for long."

Now I didn't believe that description at first when I read it as I never saw an ostrich in real life and the only time I saw,  that wasnt a picture was in Adam Sandler's movie Blended where he and one of his sons actually rode it.

I knew it was big, I just didnt expect it to be really big.

After a blissful night of good sleep and delicious food from CamSur Watersports Complex.  We woke up feeling energized for our second farm tour in Pili,  Cam Sur in Dacara's Farm and Garden in Pili, Camarines Sur.

And one of their attractions there was--you guessed it--an Ostrich.

So if you're into bird watching (hello ostrich) and you happened to be in Cam Sur. you might want to drop by Dacara's Farm in Pili where you can pet and feed a real live ostrich.

Dacara's Farm is the 2nd farm we visited after Sonrisa Farm which is also located in Cam Sur as part of our Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) farm tour last September 16-18, 2017.

I have been to a zoo but I have never seen an ostrich up close--make that almost face to face . I used to laugh at my partner's fear of birds but now that i was near an ostrich , somehow I understood  how he feels.

At first I just thought we were just going to look at them from afar so we were all surprised when they took us to meet not just one but two of this BIG BIRDS!

Mrs. Angelita Luna Dacara
Dacara's Farm and Garden, is owned by Mrs. Angelita Luna Dacara or Nanay Ghie.

The talking birds and ostriches were raised alone by Nanay Ghie, she said these birds were given to her by DENR.

Nanay Ghie studied BS Agriculture Major in Agronomy at Camarines Sur State Agricultural College and a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education - BSAgEd. Major in Agronomy at Camarines Sur Agricultural College (now CBSUA).

Dacara's Farm and Garden is free for everyone to visit. Nanay Ghie does not collect or ask for an entrance fee. She told us that anyone can stay or visit her farm anytime of the day for free. She even offered the place to be used for retreat and recollection for the priests. She doesnt earn any profit or revenue from the farm.

Nanay Ghie buys bird feeds and maintains the farm by herself with the help of her 2 farmers. Her only means of income is her catering business. She told us that it was her advocacy to take care of the birds and the farm.

She loves raising Ostrich and other birds too. The good thing about raising an ostrich is that you can have its eggs and feathers without the need to slaughter the bird.

Another thing she loves about her ostriches are its  feathers.  One feather would cost P350 in the market. But she has no plans of selling the feathers. Instead she gives it out for free to her visitors.  She said its for good luck and protection. All of us went home with one each.

I learned that her ostriches only eats kangkong leaves. Nanay Ghie told us that you dont have to fear ostriches as long as you are facing the one having round beaks, but if you see an ostrich with a sharp pointy beak though, that is another story-- just know that you have to be very careful as they can kick or headbutt you if they feel threatened.

Dacara Farm and Garden also raises  pigs, and 6 colonies of stingless bees that produce organic honey aside from her plots of vegetables and herbs.

As for her farm she has a small plot of land where she cultivates organically grown vegetables like lettuce, sili ( a Bicolano Fave) and herbs.

Unlike the other places we visited Dacara's Farm was actually more of an animal farm which showed us how to properly take care of farm animals, not for profit but as companions.
