Cebu Pacific expands ‘Change for Good’ initiative to Clark hub

The Philippines' leading airline, Cebu Pacific (PSE:CEB), marks the third year of its partnership with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) through the Change for Good initiative with the expansion of the program to all flights in and out of its hub at the Clark International Airport. Beginning September 1, 2018, passengers on all Cebu Pacific domestic and international flights to and from Clark will be able participate and donate loose change, spare foreign currency or whatever amount they can spare to help vulnerable children in the Philippines receive proper nutrition in the first 1,000 days of their lives.

“We are very grateful to Cebu Pacific for further expanding our Change for Good partnership. Now, passengers boarding Clark flights can join in the fight to ensure that children in the Philippines not only survive but thrive. By donating any amount, you invest in the future of Filipino children,” UNICEF Representative Lotta Sylwander says. 

Change for Good was established by UNICEF in 1987, in alliance with the global airline industry. The alliance is designed to collect spare currency from passengers on board flights of partner airlines with the aim to reach millions of undernourished children in over 150 countries. To date, Change for Good is one of the longest-running efforts of the UN children’s agency.

Cebu Pacific is the first and only partner of UNICEF for the Change for Good initiative in the Philippines and Southeast Asia. To date, CEB is also the only local airline partner who raises funds to benefit children in its home country.  All funds donated by passengers aboard Cebu Pacific flights for the Change for Good initiative benefit children in marginalized communities in the Philippines.

“We are immensely thankful to all our passengers who have donated to Change for Good for the past two years. The program is a practical way to put spare foreign currency or loose change to good use, rather than letting these become clutter in our homes. According to UNICEF, the first 1,000 days of life have a significant effect on a child’s future.  This golden window of opportunity builds the foundation for a child’s ability to grow, learn and earn.  Children who get the right health and nutrition in their first 1,000 days are ten times more likely to overcome life-threatening diseases, more likely to complete more grade levels in school, and go on to earn up to 50% more in wages as adults.  Sadly, around 3.4 million Filipino children who are stunted may never reach their full potential due to poor nutrition. 5 key elements to consider before booking your event venue

Planning for your christmas party? Or your company want to host an intimate dinner with your team? Or your daughter is getting married and you want it to be as engrande as possible?

The start of the “ber” months signals the beginning of the countdown to Christmas for Filipinos. Local radios almost automatically start playing Christmas carols and various establishments gear up with yuletide décor.

From September 1 onwards, festivities are much-anticipated. From reunions, bazaars, office and family Christmas parties, to milestone events like weddings, anniversaries, engagements and birthday parties. Corporate events, product launches and trade fairs are also abound. When you’re an organizer of any of these events, the preparation can get overwhelming. While all the other factors such as food, styling, and entertainment are essentials, the event venue is inarguably on top of the checklist because it influences all other subsequent major decisions. Since the “ber” months have started, major event venues are starting to fill up their calendars. As you scout for the perfect place, here are some key elements to consider before booking your event venue:

LOCATION 
Your event venue needs to be conveniently and centrally located to make it easier to find. With the worsening traffic situation everywhere, holding your venue in a tucked away place that requires excessive travel time is not the wisest decision, else your guest attendance and punctuality might suffer. If you’re holding a corporate event with guests coming from different areas, your venue must be accessible enough either by car or public transportation. It will also be a big plus if establishments are within the area so your guests have the option to stay before and after the festivities.

PARKING
This is an overlooked but extremely important factor. Nowadays, it’s either you risk street parking or find a parking lot in a nearby mall and just walk to your event. Fresh from the Box-office success of The Hows of Us, Vivo PH celebrity endorser Daniel Padilla along with the country's brightest stars graced the launch of Vivo V11 at the Shangri-la The Fort last September 11.

Vivo’s roster of talents was led by blockbuster actor Daniel Padilla. He was joined by fellow stars Maymay Entrata, Edward Barber, Barbie Forteza, Kisses Delavin, Iñigo Pascual, Julie Anne San Jose, Loisa Andalio, McCoy de Leon, Elisse Joson, Vern Enciso, Verniece Enciso, Maris Racal, Darren Espanto, Ashley Rivera, Kira Balinger, Chienna Filomeno, and KZ Tandingan.

5. Hydroquinone - also known as benzene-1, 4-diol or quinol, is an aromatic organic compound that is a type of phenol, a derivative of benzene, having the chemical formula C₆H₄ (OH) ₂. It has two hydroxyl groups bonded to a benzene ring in a para position.
6. Kojic Acid - a chelation agent produced by several species of fungi, especially Aspergillus oryzae, which has the Japanese common name koji.
7. Lactic Acid - an organic compound with the formula CH₃CHCOOH. In its solid state, it is white and water-soluble. In its liquid state, it is colorless. It is produced both naturally and synthetically.
