RLC Residences Champions Sustainable Living That Saves More Than Just Energy

We often hear about eco-friendly features when buying a home. But for many future homeowners, these still feel like abstract add-ons—nice to have, but not exactly life-changing.

The real shift happens when sustainability begins to show up in ways that directly affect one’s

day-to-day life: a home that stays cooler even in peak summer, lets in more natural light, uses

less electricity, and helps trim monthly bills.

At RLC Residences, this belief is deeply rooted in how their developments are designed. By

embedding sustainability into the blueprint of each project, RLC Residences is helping future

homeowners experience the everyday benefits of smart, green living without needing to think

about it constantly.

“When we talk about sustainability at RLC Residences, we’re not just talking about

environmental impact but also the daily impact to the residents of our developments, like how

much more comfortable their home feels, how much less they have to spend to keep it running,

and how these choices ultimately support their lifestyle in the long run,” shares Stephanie Anne

Go, Vice President and Head of Business Development and Leasing of RLC Residences.

Sierra Valley Gardens, designed with sustainable features for future residents

From Concept to Cost-Saving Reality

In the process of building more sustainable communities, RLC Residences uncovered

something equally important: the same design choices that benefit the planet also reduce costs

for homeowners. A study conducted on Sierra Valley Gardens—RLC Residences’ most

advanced sustainable development—revealed that homeowners can save approximately ₱1 per

square meter on their monthly dues. This was thanks to a variety of green features built into the

project’s DNA, from energy-efficient systems to smart water management.

While a peso per square meter may seem minimal at first glance, the savings become more

significant when you consider the scale of a residential community. For families living in mid-to-

large sized units, that’s month-on-month savings that continue for years—all built into the design

from day one.

Developments such as MIRA, Mantawi Residences, and Le Pont Residences are planned with passive cooling strategies, optimized building orientation, and larger windows that invite natural light and improve ventilation. These thoughtful choices reduce the need for artificial lighting and lessen the strain on air-conditioning systems—ultimately lowering electricity consumption.

“Design plays a crucial role in sustainability,” explains Architect Conrad Erfe, Head of Design

and Planning at RLC Residences. “By incorporating natural light and ventilation, and energy- efficient systems early on, we help create homes that are not only eco-conscious but naturally cost-efficient.”Additional features like solar panels powering common areas, motion-sensor LED lights, and insulated building materials further contribute to reducing operational costs—not just for the

developer, but directly for homeowners.

Luxury development The Residences at The Westin Manila now runs in 100% renewable energy

The Power of Renewable Energy

One of the most forward-thinking moves RLC Residences has made is the shift to renewable

energy in select developments. The Residences at The Westin Manila, located in Ortigas Center, runs on 100% renewable energy for its common areas. The result? An impressive 8 to

9% average savings on electric bills every month, according to the latest data from RLC

Residences.

And this isn’t limited to just one address. Other completed projects such as East of Galleria in

Pasig, and McKinley Park Residences, The Fort Residences, and Fifth Avenue Place in

Bonifacio Global City have also transitioned to renewable energy - with units sub-metered to

admin load—marking a decisive step toward a cleaner, more cost-efficient future for

homeowners.

Everyday Features, Everyday Impact

At RLC Residences, sustainability is thoughtfully woven into daily living. Sierra Valley Gardens,

for instance, houses a hydroponics farm that provides residents with fresh, locally grown

produce at a discounted price—bringing healthy living closer to home.

Beyond food, sustainability also shows up in essential utilities. Developments like Sierra Valley

Gardens, Le Pont Residences, and Mantawi Residences feature rainwater harvesting systems

that collect and reuse water for the irrigation of landscaped areas. These systems not only

support conservation but also help lower monthly bills—a simple feature that creates lasting

impact.

Inside every unit, low-flow plumbing fixtures minimize water usage without compromising

comfort. And because they’re seamlessly integrated, residents don’t have to change habits to enjoy the benefits—they simply use less, and save more. Indoor air quality is also a priority. By using low-VOC (volatile organic compounds) paints and adhesives, RLC Residences ensures cleaner, healthier air inside the home—an especially meaningful advantage for families with children or elderly members.

Beyond individual units, RLC Residences applies the same sustainable thinking to the broader

community. Developments feature green open spaces, efficient garbage disposal facilities, and

even EV charging provisions on select developments, all designed with the future in mind.

These aren’t just lifestyle perks—they’re investments in longevity, convenience, and peace of mind.

“Sustainability isn’t about grand gestures,” adds Stephanie Anne Go. “It’s about thoughtful

decisions that add up—creating a home that supports your well-being, your finances, and your

future.”

More Than a Buzzword

At RLC Residences, sustainability isn’t just a design choice—it’s a commitment that rewards

homeowners every month with lower dues, reduced energy bills, and a home that feels better, breathes easier, and costs less to maintain. Sustainable living doesn’t require extra effort or sacrifice; it creates spaces where systems work smarter, expenses stay manageable, and overall quality of life improves.

As more Filipinos prioritize long-term value in their home choices, these features are no longer just “nice to haves”—they’ve become essential.

Lazada Accelerates E-Commerce Expansion in the Philippines

As e-commerce continues to accelerate in the Philippines, affiliate marketing has become a key driver of growth for brands, sellers, and creators alike. Since its founding in 2016, LazAffiliateLazada’s flagship affiliate programhas grown into one of the most dynamic creator-focused programs in the country.

By combining advanced tools, competitive commission structures, and a thriving community of content creators, Lazada is redefining how brands and sellers connect with target consumers.

One of the biggest innovations has been enhancing the LazAffiliate dashboard with AI-driven recommendations and smart reporting tools, a key part of the company’s annual US$100 million investment into strengthening its affiliate program and leading creator commerce in the region. These tools help creators identify high-performing products to promote in real-time and optimize their content strategies based on consumer behavior.

At its core, affiliate marketing is driven by the power of community,” said Bella Prieto-Benitez, Lazada Philippines’ head of affiliate marketing. “Our focus has always been on improving the partner experience, from co-investments in ads, to upskilling workshops, to faster payouts. These programs ensure that affiliates can thrive financially and grow sustainably as digital entrepreneurs.”

Ecomobi, one of Lazada’s key affiliate network partners, underscores how collaborations extend the program’s impact.“Partnerships like ours merge Lazada’s powerful marketplace with Ecomobi’s creator-focused solutions,” said an Ecomobirepresentative. “This synergy makes social commerce both seamless and scalable across Southeast Asia.”

For many, the program has transformed from a side hustle into a full-time livelihood.

“As affiliates, we’re like free marketers for brands,” said Jerissa Rebosada, a top LazAffiliate partner who started in 2020. “We find the best deals, share them with our communities, and create trust with our followers. When the deals are strong, items sell out fast.”

According to top LazAffiliate partner Isha Aquino, who started in2023, affiliates often become the “hype-makers” that fuel anticipation among online shoppers during major campaigns.

“Before 9.9 or 11.11 even starts, we’re already teasing the best deals in our groups and livestreams,” shared Babzee Ferrer, a top-performing LazAffiliate whose main channel is Lazada’s livestream channel LazLive. “We keep people excited, up late, and ready to add to cart. It’s about energy and trust. Our audiences know we’re looking out for them.”

The results are undeniable. During peak campaigns, affiliates contribute an estimated 20–30% of total sales, underscoring their role as Lazada’s extended and organic salesforce.

And with the 9.9 Mega Brands Sale now underwayLazAffiliatesare bringing the excitement directly to consumers. From early teasers to real-time and around the clock livestreams, affiliates will once again play a crucial role in hyping the best deals and connecting shoppers with the brands they love.

“Campaigns like the 9.9 Mega Brands Sale show the power of affiliate marketing at scale,” Prieto-Benitez added. “It’s when our partners’ creativity, data-driven strategies, and strong community ties come together to deliver incredible value for both sellers and shoppers.”

With the digital Health ID, patients can register more quickly at partner clinics and hospitals, eliminating the need to repeatedly fill out forms. Their medical history, including past diagnoses, prescriptions, lab results, and allergies, becomes accessible across different health facilities, making care more seamless within the mWell ecosystem. This portability helps reduce duplicate testing and ensures that doctors can make informed decisions based on complete and up-to-date information.

“Interoperability of health records has always been one of the biggest challenges in our healthcare system,” said Dr. Raymond Sarmiento, Chief Operating Officer of mWell. “By putting health records in the hands of every Filipino, we create stronger connections between patients and providersThe Health ID is a secure and patient-centered solution that strengthens the health system by making medical data portable, reliable, and truly useful to patients.

Bringing the Universal Health Care Act to life

The launch of the Health ID supports the vision of the Universal Health Care Act (Republic Act 11223), which seeks to make quality healthcare accessible and affordable for all. By enabling secure and seamlessdata sharingit directly addresses one of the healthcare system’s biggest gaps: the lack of coordination caused by paper-based files and a fragmented patient record system.

Expanding healthcare access across the country

With the acquisition and integration of KonsultaMDmWell has become the Philippines’ leading digital health platform. Through the mWell app, patients can consult virtually with doctors 24/7, receive e-prescriptions and lab referrals and share their records with healthcare providers as needed. Thousands of primary care doctors and specialists nationwide are available for teleconsultation, sparing patients, including seniors, persons with disability, and those in Indigenous and geographically isolated communities, from long and costly trips to hospitals and clinics.

With mWell's digital Health ID, patients can forego filling out registration forms and proceed to have a seamless experience, whether it is for consultation or laboratory services, at the mWellPrimary Care Facility in Bacoor, Cavite.

As a fully integrated healthcare ecosystem, mWell also offers the mWellHealthSuite to bring digital management systems to hospitals and clinics, provide appointment booking via HealthHub and even

on-site care at the Primary Care Facility in Bacoor, Cavite.

In partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), mWell has also deployed the mWell OnTheGoClinic-In-A-Bag to remote communities, bedridden patients, Indigenous Peoples, and soldiers in conflict areas. To complement this, mWell introduced drone medicine delivery to isolated islands and launched BangkaHealth, which brings telemedicine to houses on stilts in Sulu via small boats. These initiatives extend mWell’s reach to some of the most underserved and hardest-to-access communities in the country.

As part of the MPIC Group, mWell is committed to working towards the achievement of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being. It also supports the MVP Group’s Gabay Kalusugan advocacy focusing on quality and affordable healthcare.
