I have learned my lesson the hard way, when I lost my phone inside my designer bag. The pickpocket/slasher took away my mobile phone and slashed my favorite designer bag. It was frustrating and stressful and no matter how wonderful you started your day with, the situation would surely bring you down. It took me one week to recover for this ordeal. The bag is unrepairable and I dont want to pay P3k for a simple stitching alone. And to think that the pickpocket guy got my personal information and bank account number through my mobile caused me more sleepless nights.
After the incident, I always carried a large le pliage long handle to keep my valuables close to me, I treated my bag like my best friend, I stay close to it and never let it down, literally, especially when riding the MRT/LRT Public transport which is a prime spot for pickpockets.
When I learned about Pacsafe's anti-theft technology, RIFD, and that a stainless steel wire is integrated into adjustable Carrysafe straps, through Mr Eros Enriquez, Pacsafe Marketing Manager at the Pacsafe blogcon last Nov 27 at Little Italy, Greenhills. I am thinking of getting one to substitute with my other bag this Holiday Season, to make sure my gears are safe for potential thieves this December.
What is RIFD? RFID-blocking wallets are designed to protect your identity from a very particular brand of electronic pickpocketing, called RFID skimming. The RIFD wallets are designed to impede your credit cards’ RFID signals, making them harder to read when nearby your bag or where your wallet is located. The good thing is, Pacsafe carries RIFD wallets for men and women as well.

Pacsafe see itself as every traveler's best mate as they promise to have everyone covered so they can get the most of their journey.
Pacsafe's anti-theft eXomesh are made of high-tensile, stainless steel wires, which is slash-proof.
Bag slashers target outside fabric panels of bags (front, bottom or side), which cause valuables to fall out and into the palm of their hands. Pacsafe lightweight slashguards are built into (and concealed) in the most vulnerable areas of the bag, helping to protect your gear from a quick slash-and-run theft. eXomesh protection in luggage extends the full length of the bag helping to protect your gear from opportunistic theft or if it's snagged in transit.
